Why is the gun blae so underutilized in vidya? It combines the honor of the blade with the spirit of the revolver

because it's one of the dumbest ideas ever conceived
The explosions at the tip are cool. The fact that it's entire fighting style is based off of using the recoil from the explosion is also cool. But that thing can't possibly be actually used in combat given how often you'd have to manually reload it in a close range brawl
You'd probably break your index finger when you're in the heat of battle, using these things to for example block an enemy that gets too close.
I know the Japanese are retarded and love impractical weapons but it’s just so fucking stupid. Forget the idea behind the blade vibrating while cutting, the handle itself is so idiotic. You would get very little power in comparison to swinging just a regular sword.
>You would get very little power in comparison to swinging just a regular sword
but you'll be better at stabbing from the bottom and... uh... yeah, that's it
Hmph! I've fought worse!
It somewhat makes it into this, so it can't be too bad
what about a gun that shoots swords?
Is that from 12? I don't remember this part at all.
I always thought it was a bayonet., how dumb.
>gun blae
More like GunBAE amirite
no, the handle is straight for a reason. Even if the top of the blade is curved, the way you hold it allows you to put more force in the "chopping" motion, and also preserve your ligaments
>Swing sword
>Revolver fires because trigger is built into handle
Because its fucking stupid
Because it's a retarded idea and guns with bayonets already exist.
he was a side boss
>try to aim revolver
>constantly shaking because of the 10lbs of elongated steel hanging off the end of it
Hmph! I've fought worse!
How about a mace grenade? Like a grenade but you can hit people with it
well, throwing hammers is a thing
Lightning's is better in every possible aspect
kino right there.
there was no gilgamesh boss fight as good as this one
here's your sword bro
Because a bayonet is a more practical weapon at close range. The idea that it's nothing more than a backup if you end up in close range and that you're meant to just stick the guy that got close and flee so you can reload is more practical too.
The only gun-bladed weapon that got it right.
So what the Germans had in WWII?
XIV has them

What about gunblades that shot bulletswords
Hmph! I've fought worse!
let's go further
That show got not a single thing right in its entire run length. It's actually fucking amazing how every single choice made in that show was a mistake and desperate RTfags STILL defend it to the death. It wasn't even good in the Monty era.
Hmph! I've fought worse!
gunblade is simply too retarded
Revolver
>fairly light
>fast and easy to aim
>fairly easy to maintain & reload
>can be used as a blunt weapon in desperate situations
Sword
>moderately heavy
>easy to maintain
>decent maneuverability
>can be used to guard
Gunblade
>heavy and unsightly
>impractical, hard to aim and swing fast enough to be effective
>obnoxious to maintain, reloading is cumbersome
>cannot be used to guard, because twisting or denting the "gun" barrel will literally break the entire weapon
There's literally no reason to pick gunblade instead of
sword + pistol, or twin pistols or shield in any situation
But Rwby is garbage.
>anime
>good weapon
Pick one.
>sword + pistol, or twin pistols or shield in any situation
Sword + pistol combo looks infinitely cooler too. There's an entire game franchise premised on this fact.
I just want Zidane's daggers/butterfly swords/polearms
buster swords and gunblades are full retard.
