Hell some of them are behind walls you wouldn't expect like a wall that has posters on it being a sign that you can nightmare summon to break it down. I used a ps4 controller on PC at first and it's definitely hard to switch quickly on that for me. I died a lot thinking I had messed up my royal guard timing, only to realize I was somehow in Gunslinger because of how easy it is to press a different direction at the same time.

I'm using an xbone controller now, defintiely much more precise for style switching because of how clicky the dpad is. You absolutely can't get it wrong on an xbone controller.

Dunno why people are having such a hard time with V on DMD. All you need are literally three moves to get and maintain an S-Rank:

1. Shadow's charged attack that turns him into a porcupine
2. Griffon's charged attack that unleashes three vertical lighting bolts on the ground
3. Nightmare thrown in every now and then to cause gigantic explosions and punches that flinch anything short of a boss, or whenever Griffon or Shadow die.

That's literally it. Also, don't lock on. Look at pic related. I didn't no-damage pic related, but I still got S-rank thanks to the 20% extra bonus score from not using continues.

The hardest part of Mission 4 with V is not the boss, but the three Behemoths you encounter throughout. They take a massive beating and can fuck you up real good.

Why are you having trouble with Artemis? You only need four things against her, even on DMD:

1. Charged Shot all the way to blue levels. This is your bread and butter for damage. Charged shots are also all you need to kill those purple little minions she summons that shoot halos at you.
2. Overture breakage whenever you get near her so you can get in a nice bomb on her and do an extra chunk of damage.
3. Buster Arm breakage whenever she's down.
4. Whenever she's doing super long wind up attack that darkens the screen, that's when you unleash Devil Trigger.

Thankfully, in mission 4, there were only three Behemoths. You encounter one very early on and two later on in the same gated battle arena. The second one doesn't spawn until you kill the first, so you can take your time killing the first one.

I always wait until I break the Behemoth's armor before I summon Nightmare. Because the Monster Hunter-esque attack where Behemoth flails around and runs at you several times can instantly kill Shadow and Griffon. As soon as Shadow and Griffon die to that attack, I summon Nightmare.

Horse is mission 5, but my strategy was largely similar (only using charged attacks on Griffon and Shadow), except I played more defensively.

I don't summon Nightmare until the boss does his giant time-super-slowing AoE attack or unless Shadow and Griffon get killed. This is so that Nightmare can serve as a temporary distraction for hits. Even then, I only use him for a couple of seconds so that I always have at least 3 bars of DT to spare.

Also, whenever he does any of those AoE attacks, I simply double jump and side dash to recall Shadow and Griffon. Don't lock-on at all unless you're recalling Shadow. All of his projectile attacks can be dodged by running side ways without stopping.

I really hope they use this design for the next game. It’s clear Mundus was in the planning stages for V, but got scrapped.

I mapped both to L1 because for Nero there's no reason to not have charged shots at all time and as for V spamming all your attacks at once give you S-ranks and end battles quicker. If by noob setting you mean auto-combos, then no it isn't. The first time you boot the game and it asks for all the settings, that's one it asks about. Clicking in and holding the right stick toggles it, too.
