We know he will die, then we know how he dies, and we are given limited time and an anguished experience where you as the player are invited to see and play out his finite days. The ending is not surprising like it was in RDR1 but it's the build up that makes it powerful. Just like Blood and Wine.

Ciri only becomes empress because she considers it her responsibility, not because she wants to. For the same reason she will most likely be forced/feel obligated to marry Morvran Voorhis because it's the only way to appease the Merchant Guilds and hold the Empire together, as it has been planned by Movrans father for years.

Feels more thematically fitting even though I got the witcheress ending myself.

Giving her to Emhyr is not giving her both options, it's you (the player) triggering the Empress ending

The point of both opportunities to visit Emhyr is that you give her the feeling you sold her out and are just fulfilling a contract.

Because by avoiding him, Geralt basically encourages her to stay completely clear of Emhyr for good. Therefore she doesn't find out that he's offering her the throne or at least doesn't consider it an option.

combat is only hard in the beginning on DM, once you are like lvl 10+ its easy, but even still at low lvls you can kill 6+ lvl higher mobs than you if you know your shit
