It was underwhelming in every aspect.

Devil May Cry 5 too. 2019 the year of impossible games.

Shenmue III

Damn right, that too. What a crazy and amazing year.

RE 2 Remake

... God, I would kill for a FF: Tactics remake, right now!!!

aqua's model didn't underwhelm my penis

And Halo on PC. Also Ace Combat got a new game.

and megaman legends 3

>for a FF: Tactics remake
You did get one. It was called War of the Lions.

Attached: 1472826535449.jpg (1000x1000, 171K)

It wasn't disappointing to be honest. People just got unrealistic expectations. It delivered on pretty much everything it promised. Only bad parts were the Tangled and Frozen worlds since they didn't even attempt to do anything other than adapt the original movie in the most confusing way possible.

>RE2 Remake
It speaks volumes to the game that discussions are embroiled over what's good or bad about it to the point no one remembers it was considered vaporware for like 3 years

> It delivered on pretty much everything it promised
In the most uninteresting and rushed way possible.

Unrealistic expectations? Get the fuck out of here.

The game had 0 new characters. They just lazily brought back everyone who already died which is fucking dumb. It got rid of nearly everything Final Fantasy. Post game content is next to nothing. The boss battles, rather than being Disney characters like the first game, are all generic heartless that you forget immediately after fighting.

These aren't unrealistic expectations, this is shit that they delivered on in the PS2 era. There's no excuse for this sequel, after over a fucking decade being more shallow than it's predecessor from two generations ago.

Not to mention that it was clearly rushed out the door. The final world where everyone gets a half-ass resolution in 3 minute clips is fucking pathetic. And Namine comes back for four seconds at the end? No way they didn't plan more. Malificent and Pete had no fucking payoff, they were completely redundant. They weren't even necessary to understand the secret ending.

Then they have the balls to actually include the 100 Acre Wood when it was so clearly not finished. These arrogant fucks actually included three levels of Bust-A-Move as an entire god damn world because fuck you you're not going to not buy Kingdom Hearts 3. You seriously think that expecting more than that is unrealistic? Get fucking real, have you even played the other games?

Face it, they blew all of their effort on making the graphics pretty and animating the different forms/special attacks so that you can just press triangle to win battles rather than fighting them. Because of this, the actual game suffered immensely.

Also Face My Fears is a fucking terrible song and makes me cringe listening to it.

I get so sad when reading posts like these cause I know they're right.

KH3 was my last game I genuinely looked forward to.
All games have gone to shit and JRPGs have suffered more than any other genre.
What a fucking shame.

You know, if you had bothered to play the various games that came out between 2 and 3, you probably wouldn't have built 3 into this mythical game in your head that seemed like it took 15 years to make.

Sorry to hear that you're retarded then, user.

Why did you have to remind me of this piece of shit?

>The game had 0 new characters. They just lazily brought back everyone who already died which is fucking dumb. It got rid of nearly everything Final Fantasy.

It all comes off as needlessly convoluted way eject Final Fantasy, Nomura created these OCs and killed them off, only to bring them back in the most contrived way while arguing that Kingdom Hearts no longer needs the Final Fantasy aspect.

When if they still used Final Fantasy characters, the dead KH characters could stay dead and the seemingly arbitrary 13 darknesses/7 lights could have been filled with actually surprising characters drawn from FF and Disney. Instead of the exact same characters and conflicts they've been trotting around since Chains of Memories.

You know something? You are 100% correct.
KH3 is forgetable in everyway. It felt chopped up and rushed.
>Frozen world 5 min recap of the fucking song that has not been popular in years
>Poohs world being 3 minigames
>FF got cut
>Get Aqua back then expect to go on an adventure to get Terra back lol nope 2 mins in the final areas
>The final 3rd of the game seems so squashed together.
>Best worlds were Pirates and toy story.

>Poohs world being 3 minigames
You mean one minigame copied and pasted three times?

No it hasn't. We're still waiting for the real KH3.

she was censored

She looked better in BBS and 0.2

>It wasn't disappointing to be honest. People just got unrealistic expectations.
2/3rds of the game turning out to be utterly useless filler and the other third being rushed as fuck is pretty disappointing to me. The game is kino if you ignore the fact that it admits to wasting your time after Herc tells you what to do in the prologue.

It was okay. I’ll wait for critical mode and whatever is added with the dlc.

gang violence

No it wasn't you fucking moron.

People like and you, don't really know anything about video games. You're losers.

Not an argument

Lmao what a faggot

Cry more.

It was fun theres just nothing to talk about and you wouldn't talk about the story shit here because autist like you would sperg out. Yea Forums isn't the only place people talk about games

>People just got unrealistic expectations
I'm sorry I expected it to be better than two PS2 games released more than a decade ago, I guess that's my fault?

>seemingly arbitrary 13 darknesses
I still posit that the first Org 13 should have been filled with FF villains ped he Xemnas, the same way 1 had the Disney villains sort of led by Ansem.

That came out in 2010.

It was extremely underwhelming to me too. I'm still upset over how brain dead easy the entire game was.

That was a port with even slower animations lmao

>unrealistic expectations
There are too many amateur flaws on differents aspects like pacing, gameplay, endgame content, level design. Even going with low expectations, I was still disappointed.

It wasn't braindead nor underwhelming, it was fun and entertaining. Go ahead and try level 1 on Proud, and watch as you see how brain dead you really are.

If I have to set up arbitrary limitations on myself instead of relying on the standard available difficulty options, then it's shitty difficulty adjustment. By your logic, DMC2 could be a decent game if I decide to not use Ebony and Ivory or DT.

You're so fucking pathetic.
The game was a disappointment or mediocre to anybody that's not a die hard fanboy. Series died by bbs.
Nomura needs to fired already.
Cope.

>muh level 1 proud
Fuck off, I didn't have to do that to have fun in 2 because I'm not a speedrunning autist, I shouldn't have to do it here either.

Because it was bad or because you're 30 and not 13?

and it was shit
can't believe SE betrayed me like this

Attached: 1524432168795.png (464x470, 282K)

>arbitrary limitations!
Haha, every single time. You're just doing this because you think it's an argument. These limitations are real restrictions the developers put out for the player to try out different playthroughs. Why do you think they have the ability to toggle healing off now?

It's not like DMC2 at all. These games are perfectly balanced for these difficulties, and in fact, they are the true difficulties of these games. You're telling me you've never heard of people doing level 1 runs in KH2FM? It is a masterpiece of a game on that mode.

You sound angry.

You didn't do it in 2 because you are a casual with no experience.

Level 1 modes are for hardcore players only who want the most out of the battle system.

Having to miss out on experiencing over 85% of my potential moveset in order to make the game even remotely challenging on a virgin run is bad video game design. I'm disgusted you're even defending that, assuming you aren't trolling.

>level 1 runs in KH2FM
So why was vanilla 2 still enjoyable even without this bullcrap?

It's not bad game design. It's perfect game design. Everything is accounted for. For example, instead of leveling up to acquire your casual abilities such as Second Chance and Once More, you now have certain keyblades with those abilities. It's interesting to see what certain keyblade's abilities are. Also, cooking is even better on level 1. You get special abilities that will help you along with mini stat boosts. Curaza is a real thing.

>So why was vanilla 2 still enjoyable
It wasn't. Everybody praises KH2FM for how balanced it is. Nobody even talks about vanilla, unless they are shitting on it.

>It wasn't
It was
>Everybody praises KH2FM for how balanced it is
Only speedrunner faggots

No, but okay believe what you want.

The Graphics are fantastic and the combat is great if you don't spam certain moves it's just that everything else is a mediocre nightmare. The writing is awful, the voice acting made my skin crawl, there weren't ANY final fantasy characters actually integral to the story and IT ENDS ON A FUCKING CLIFFHANGER. KH1 and 2 are very near and dear to me and 3 felt like such a goddamn letdown.

Attached: 1418548641851.jpg (469x526, 80K)

Because KH2 was objectively a mechanical improvement over KH1 regardless of difficulty with a foundation that wasn't fucked, leading to KH2FM.

KH3 is the exact opposite in comparison, and no amount of work done to Critical Mode can truly fix the game under the talentless hacks that are the B team.

>the combat is great if you don't spam certain moves
So it literally isn't then.

The ending with them all on Destiny Island is the best ending after all these years. The cliffhanger secret ending just sets up the next saga, which we have known about for a while now. The writing and voice acting are awful in all of them, and KH1 was the only KH with FF characters integral to the story. They were just background characters in 2 who hung out at Hollow Bastion and they hardly show up in any of the other games.

>those fucking simpletons wanted to use the command deck for 3 because it's all they know
Why do they still have jobs?

and it was good.

Not as great as KH2FM but still a good game

I disagree. Everything you said was perfect for the fans except for no FF.

You seem confused. The new team did a wonderful job on KH3 in every aspect and took many lessons from the old. You're also wrong about KH2. It is better than 1, but they couldn't finish everything due to time constraints, such as the Roxas fight. So FM was made.

It is, on level 1 that is. The combat is still superb on other modes. If you chose warrior, keyblade moves are more viable than magic, with magic being used as an accessory for your physical attacks and status effects.

I have zero hope in Osaka Team especially after Nomura's kicks the bucket, hopefully the franchise gets killed off by the time that happens.

The only underwhelming part of the game was the story really not going anywhere and the music.

I was expecting a soundtrack to blow my mind away.

Other than that it was amazing.

No, it was objectively underwhelming. I came into KH3 expecting it to surpass KH2FM. Guess what I got? A game that isn't even as good as vanilla KH1. That's how underwhelming it was to me.

If you can prove to me how it surpass KH2FM and KH1, then by all means, I'll play it again and will try to keep an open mind about it.

God, you have awful fucking taste in the most important aspect of video games.

>It was objectively underwhelming
>That's how underwhelming it was to me
Pick one, giant dumbass. You can't be objective and subjective at the same time.

Also, cut scenes were absolutely horrible, terribly paced and with one of the worst voice acting in a long time.
And all worlds were insipid fillers or straight up inferior rerun of Disney films.

Damn, what a disappointment this game was.

It was obviously a hyperbole. But I believe it was subjectively shit and only enjoyed by god damn morons, casuals, hobbyists, and fanatics in denial.

>You seem confused. The new team did a wonderful job on KH3 in every aspect and took many lessons from the old.
>35 second plus loading times frequently
>One secret boss that's shit and dissapointing, is worse than having no secret boss
>No Colosseum
>No post game
>No real exploration of final world
>Sub 20 hour game padded to shit with fetch quest shit like collect 300 crabs, shitty treasure pixel hunts, and shitty gummi ship sections
>Rehashed disney movies devoid of their soul
>Sub 30 FPS
>720p
>Floaty and clunky movement and gameplay with no challenge even on hardest difficulty in the game. Can literally beat every enemy on proud with basic attack mashing and nothing else.
>Can literally never die because of the kupo coin
>No Jump momentum because it stops you completely once you land
>Takes a billion years to run up a wall and it's a useless clunky rigid gimmick they wasted years of dev time on
>Can't disable the ugly white lines
>Invisible walls everywhere
>No NG+
>No Critical Mode at all, hardest is only Proud
>Cancer camera gets stuck behind trees
>Worlds are empty and also actually only KH2 sized and are mostly literal empty coridoors
>No FF characters
>Twilight Town in KH3 even smaller and more linear than KH2 Twilight Town
>Terrible story that gets even worse at the climax
>No actual ending in the game, it was added post launch so it's literally unfinished
>Extremely rushed and lacking in content
>5 years+ for a game worse than Chain of Memories and isn't worth $60
>KH fandom actually begged for a day 1 and DLC patch now because they actually think this mess can be fixed
>KH3 has so little content and yet they still cut 0.2 out from KH3 to sell it separately like greedy fucks
>Most expensive AAA game SE JP has ever made with expensive Disney marketting, huge 78 MC flop and is already hated by KH fandom
>13 years wait just for a meh shitty game
>Nomura confirmed to be a hack who released KH3 as an unfinished game

Kys

Its objectively mediocre and only mildly better than the shitty handheld games.

>shitty gummi ship sections
Oi, you leave the one well done part of this shit heap out of this.

>buy a PS4 because of this game
>end up not buying the game at all
I think i'm done, lads.

I have no sympathy for whoever was let down by this game. Square Enix have proven that they don't know what they're doing several times now.

Fuck you asshole. My fucking point is that it didn't meet my fucking expectations. After I finished the game's story I eventually deleted that shit from my PS4 just to make room for DMC5 and I don't regret it one bit. The combat pales in comparison to KH2, it's like a fucking step back with the lack of drive forms and the fucking disney attraction bullshit. It's not even as hard as the previous games either. And the story is lacking. I didn't want to see that Frozen singing bullshit. Infact, I'd rather replace the Frozen world with a Kim Possible world. Fuck Frozen, fuck Olaf, and fuck Disney for fucking having the audacity to shill that shit in my games.

Attached: 1549673700086.jpg (384x385, 20K)

Did they make you go to Olympus and Twilight Town first on purpose? Those worlds actually felt "lived in" for a change and gave off the aura that the scope of the franchise was stepping up to meet the capabilities of modern day consoles but then

>you cant go to the kingdom in arendelle
>empty monsters inc at nighttime (what the fuck who wants to explore monsters inc when theyre fucking closed)

Attached: 1526609044818.jpg (2459x2074, 609K)

This. Gummiships were the only thing I liked in the game.

You don't know anything about KH2FM, nor KH1 for that matter. KH3 is a great game, and it has definitely surpassed KH1FM and vanilla KH2. It is not quite there to surpass KH2FM in my opinion.

Let me break down the combat. KH2's combat is so good because it is snappy, moves have weight, and the fluidity is unheard of. KH3 has all of this except for fluidity, but it has it's own style which I enjoy. In KH2 you were a monster who could create insane combos. In KH3 they turned that dial up 10 fold. The amount of options you have for any situation is insane. We all know you can mash your way through if you wanted, but KH games are about experimentation and challenging yourself, because these are the types of games they are. There is nothing else like them.

youtu.be/3nBbzUVw2fc?t=54

What would you do in this type of situation, where you are surrounded by Large Bodies on level 1? Attractions don't appear. what are you going to do? Well obviously you're going to annihilate with Storm Flag because it's combos reach 360 degrees around Sora. Blizzaga stops them in their tracks. You have to be fast. I have dodged death a few times there.

There is no point reading copypasta.

Agree with everything besides world size (most of them are huge and it's laughable how empty they're) and I actually liked the Gummi ship sessions.

I love how people are still waiting for Birth By Sleep lmfao, I beat that shit on 3 different consoles.

>Make a game with diverse combat options
>Trivialize it to the point where you can just use one action command and end most fights without worry

Nice game

>>Trivialize it to the point where you can just use one action command and end most fights without worry

??

Attractions

>Definitely surpassed vanilla KH2
Nah, even vanilla KH2 it's better in almost every way.

Nah. I mean if that's your thing, okay, go ahead. At most, I'll use the carousel and immediately use the finisher for it, just because I like that one.

Attractions don't do shit on level 1, and I found that they aren't as frequent either. They take you away from the action and aren't as good as what you can do on your own.

It definitely did. It didn't surpass KH2FM quite only because of how much content and balancing it has.

Real talk, for those who feel disappointed by KH3, what would the upcoming DLC have to do for you.

blame disney for that first one
Frozen had so many fucking restrictions based on the interviews that it should've just been kept out of the fucking game
>entire plot is that Sora and co. climb the mountain, get knocked off it for some plot related reason, and then have to climb it up again
>repeat this three fucking times and that's the entire world
the only world that i've seen people dislike more was pirates, and even then Pirates just has a bad story path with nothing but gimmick fights until the end; if you had to explore an island or two in it instead of making 95% of that world optional, more people would realize that it was a good world

Apologize and make a new third entry

I know, end of a lifetime
Looking forward to the next one but not as eagerly as the Dark Seeker saga

Make Terra playable and show him kicking ass, Doomguy style.

>empty monsters inc at nighttime (what the fuck who wants to explore monsters inc when theyre fucking closed)
me
i don't give a shit towns have a bunch of generic npcs i can't even interact with or not

>backtrack the frozen world for treasure chests
>suddenly a cuteness
>game forces you to look for olaf AGAIN for no reason and you cant leave!

by far the worst world in the series.

Attached: 1546188527632.jpg (591x701, 122K)

>I don't give a shit about world building

fucking phoneposter

Almost completely rework the game.
pastebin.com/s3fYde9E

that's not what world building means

i honesty dont think any form of dlc would make me think better off the game. hell, it should not need dlc in the first place. the devs were lazy and cutting corners.

Nigger this is Kingdom Hearts, when the fuck have generic NPC's ever needed to be a thing?

>There's people ITT that think KH3 even comes close to KH2FM much less KH1
This delusional.
Probably the same people who play on baby mode and mash X, so they can't tell the difference.

Attached: this_hurts_the_osakafag.jpg (512x512, 68K)

Thats literally every KH game though, disney worlds have been filler since the first game

This, what a waste of dev time. Instead of making a bunch of moving mannequins to spout non sequitrs at you they could have given us fish mutant pirates, or improved cutscene quality.

>Claimed he adopted Sakaguchi's philosophy of FF "having everything" with KH3
>Game ships out with less content than even KH1 & KH2 on PS2
What a disaster this company turned into.

HD era ruined JRPGs. Outside of P5 and Nier Automata this gen is so inferior to 5th/6th gen's juggernaut RPGs.

why is there nothing left to kill. how hard would it have been to rematch the real org 13? gotta make SOMETHING for the dlc content i guess

You know you made a colossal fuck up when the Gummi Ship overworld has far tighter level design than the actual fucking worlds themselves.

>It definitely did.

>Secret boss is inarguably worse than KH2 Sephiroth both mechanically and visually
>No negative combo/Horizontal Slash/sliding dash
>Garbage finishers in general
>MX is a massive letdown compared to Xemnas
>No tournaments
>Worlds are just as empty despite being bigger
>Middle portion is non existent on story content
>The least amount of Disney bosses ever
>Ending was severely lacking in actual pay off
>Combat feels like ass compared to KH2's weighty movement
It really didn't.

I liked it.

THIS
Some games are only trully enjoyed if you are a young innocent soul between 6 and 13yo ,any older and you realize the games isnt that good.

Does it though? You can just bypass everything except that last maze
