I haven't actually tried Shadow to be fair. I played the first one to completion and started Rise but dropped it halfway through. Rise was a bit of an improvement in terms of gameplay and expanding on the tombs but everything was still simplistic as fuck and it dropped the horror aesthetic from the first game, which I actually liked.
