in the history of steam you can't get VAC banned in a game that doesn't use VAC secured servers, you can still get a general game ban by the devs if you're caught cheating but that depends on the game and if anti-cheat is enforced - stuff like borderlands 2 or re2remake won't get you banned for trainers or anything

If the spics can control themselves in the shareware versions of Halo 1 and 2 then I trust hackers are going to be minimal in a game they have to actually pay for
