No it feels like you are playing with someones nipples
It's alright, a redesign is probably long overdue for some minor ergonomic changes,
1 look at the "dpad" is the only answer you need
how do you get to this page?
>He does not like playing with someone else's nipples
Are you gay, son?
are you not getting it for free at this price? just get it if it is.
I played with some emo boys nipples before. The novelty wears off once you find out they're not that sensitive
they really should have put another analog stick in place of the right haptic pad, but other than that I love the thing. it's amazing for emulation since you can customize it with keyboard inputs
>being a fag
>playing with fag nipples
no wonder you don't like nipples.
I got one a couple of months ago and I actually can't believe how bad it is. Avoid.
So....good?
Fuck that, the right pad providing trackball style input is one of the big things that makes the controller good. They should replace the left pad with a proper d-pad, possibly swapping with the location of the analog stick.
Though really they should have stuck to their guns and made this.
>not playing with your own nipples
>repeats joke from some webcomic
>confirms he's never acually used one

It's literally one of the worst controllers I've ever owned. Pic related, look at the dust on it. That's how long I haven't touched it for.
It's got several issues, the most obvious one being shown in this pic. The face buttons are so small and so close to the GIANT ASS touchpad that I always inadvertently end up touching the bottom of the touchpad with my thumb when pressing the B button, which in turn fucks up my joystick.
Overall, it's truly garbage design. It's bulky, runs on AA batteries, poor ergonomics, low quality, and most systems will just treat it as a shitty mouse+keyboard garbage hybrid.
Yes it is good! I love all the features it has/supports (mainly the extreme customization and rebinding. I mean you can sperg out about your inner and outer dead zone radius for each touch pad). It WILL take some getting used to though. it is a very different controller than anything you have probably used before.
You will find yourself reaching for that xbox or dualshock controller often, but if you stick with the steam controller you will come to love it more than the others.

It's an utter disappointment to use, feels bad, unergonomical, requires hours of finetuning PER GAME, etc. It's garbage.
Lmao grow bigger hands so that you don't have to hold it like a toddler then.
>problem is that controls are too small/close to each other
>hand is too big so it ends up slightly touching the wrong parts of the controller
>"lmao bro grow bigger hands"
I assume you dropped out of highschool, yes?
Hold it properly you fucking clown.
That's how I hold it, yes. Then you go press the B button and the side of your thumb touches the right touch pad.
No, it's awful.
It's not a "controller" as much as it as controller emulator hardware. If you're getting it with the expectation of it surpassing a ps4/xbox controller, I think you might be disappointed. But if you're getting it to play some PC games while you chill out laying back it's a great piece of hardware because it's perfect for emulating mouse movement and you can configure it to do just about anything you want to.
Should I get a PS4 or Xbone controller for this game?
horrible for most games but with practice you can play rts and crpgs from your couch or bed without the hassle of a wireless keyboard. typing with the dual keyboard thing is fun too.
which one are you most comfortable with?
I haven't tested the Xbone controller for enough time to form an opinion, but the PS4 controller positively surprised me and I prefer it to my x360 controller.
I don't get how it emulates mouse movement. Do you say you wanna keep turning right in an fps, do you hold your thumb on the right side of the nipple, or do you slide your thumb across from left to right, pick your thumb up and repeat?
PS4 is objectively a better controller.
PS4 > Pro Controller > Xbone > anything else > Steam "controller"
You can set it how you want, it can either be like a trackball (pick your thumb up and repeat) or like a touchpad kind-of thing. Or you can emulate a joystick. The default for mouse aiming is trackball.
The fact that there isn't a D-pad on it is fucking criminal.
If you aren't using it for 2D game, it's fucking great, doe
you can configure it to whatever setup you like using steam's (extremely autistic and extensive) config tool
My dad warned me this leads to breast cancer.
Afaik is like a very precise laptop mousepad in the shape of a circle so it would be the second scenario, but of course you don't keep stroking your thumb on the pad to turn you just tuen the sensitivity up so it acts like a joystick.
so how many people answering actually purchased one?
>bro my friend has one and I tried it for 20 minutes
no. real answers from owners pls.
Doesn't the PS4 have compatibility issues with pirated games?
just get a ds4 and use inputmapper
You don't need to, steam added native support for ds4 controllers.
does it work with the wireless too now?
I don't see why not, but I haven't tried wireless.
>not that sensitive
Were you even trying?
I use inputmapper for emulators/torrented games, but I have a lot of steam stuff too.
>The cap of my stick is loose and keeps wiggling
>You have to take off the sticker or tear it to open the controller
I want to keep it nice and pristine but I also want to fix it
I mainly use a wireless PS4 controller on Linux through bluetooth and Steam's controller is great.
Linux natively supports PS4 controllers out of the box, but Steam tricks games into thinking it's an Xbox 360 controller, so games that use xinput (the library used by most windows games for controller input) work well.
Even the gyro works in games (literally moving the controller moves the mouse/analog stick), and everything can be remapped on a per game basis.
Reminder that everyone complaining about the steam controller having bad ergonomics has baby hands. One of the most comfortable controllers I've used, really like the shape and the buttons feel nice. The right trackpad can take some getting used to though
do they have a redesign in the works?
no, that would make analog movement impossible
the buttons are also a bad idea for a directional "pad"
>reminder that everyone complaining about the xbox DUKE controller having bad ergonomics has baby hands. One of the most comfortable controllers I've ever used.
Not that I know of
Fuck no. Not only is the trackpad absolute garbage but the face buttons are tiny.
t. Babyhands manlet
there's a lot one could pick apart in this photo
All I see is cleavage and an absolute unit.
