The entire sentence structure was hastily made because I'm a retard. Basically, the Switch lacks even the most basic features that other consoles have: messaging, friends, online that ISN'T shit, voice chat, customization of any kind, an intuitive online store, multimedia features.

The Switch is as barebones as it gets and ironically a step backwards from the DS, a handheld released 15 years ago.

Yes, voice chat is a gimmick and there's nothing roundabout in getting a game of Smash started with friends. You text your friend on your phone and give them your arena code, simple as that. Mario Kart is even easier than that. And I haven't had stability issues with any online game. Maybe you need better internet and/or a better router.

Not really, it basically detracts value for me. I don't care about portability and would never bother taking a console with me. If I want a Switch for its games, I have to pay for the battery, screen and all the other shit which would not be required in a home console. Furthermore the battery isn't designed to be user replaceable and Li-ion batteries deteriorate over time and can even bloat up, thus becoming dangerous. So I'm paying for features I will never use which drive up the price of the console and at the same time actively reduce the hardware's potential longevity. That's a garbage deal, the Switch guts in a TV-only box would've been cheaper and more reliable long-term. Either that or they could have maintained the price, but put the money into better, faster hardware instead of portability, which would have directly improved the gaming experience.

The Switch's gimmick is basically an anti-feature to me, the console would've been much more appealing without it.
