I remember the real TGC was interesting too
thanks
>tfw ded thread
It's basically a simplified MTG. It's not bad, but don't expect anything too in-depth.
I thought the anime was pretty funny and i played the gba game a bit too wasn't that good though
My friends were really into the card game for a bit, I ended up with a Kokujo deck and I loved the game, but it died down for us after a couple months and we all went back to Yugioh.
Behold the Apex Predator of video games based on Children's Trading Card Games.
I don't remember much about that game, but I do remember the solid ost

WHO'S THE ONE WITH THE SPIKEY HAIR
SHOBU
I vaguely remember how this shows dub was like ghost stories but for kids
RIP Duel Masters
Does it count?
I FUCKING LOVE DUEL MASTERS HOLY SHIT
I have this exact game, and my darkness civ deck literally destroys all the npcs
Jack viper is literally the greatest card in the game, along with ghost races
there are a few gba ones, one being really good, the others being pretty bad. The show had a hilarious dub.
Darkness civ was so underrepresented in the anime unfortunately.
Pic related one of the staple ghost cards
What cards came in your game OP?
So whats the best Yugioh game for singleplayer?
The GBA Duel Masters was pretty fun. Pic related was my favorite monster overall for how edgy it was right around my teenage years.
Why is it edgy?
Its just based on anubis, darkness civ is the epitome of card design.
I still curse the day I got too late into this game.
>You see a world. I see a graveyard-to-be.
>Scratchclaw gets +1000 for every other dark creature in play
>Shadow Moon gives every other dark creature in play +2000
>these effects stack and you can have 4 of each in a deck
>add in a bunch of cheap blockers and Mongrel Man for passive card drawing
nothing in this game stood a chance
It was great, I wish more shows would do gag dubs, maybe then I would actually BUY anime.
>Why is it edgy?
The flavor text, though that was the theme for Darkness civ cards. The flavor text for Majinn is pretty funny.
>a nice, comfortable realm of horror
fucking A+
Bloody squito, card recovery, big fat disposable blockers
I believe zatch bell also did gag dubs yeah? But this blows everything out of the water, I really really liked duel masters. I even want to see it again.
Shadow moon was a extremely good card. Remember Dark Clown? I believe it was a disposable blocker with like 6k power and only like 4 cost, fucking amazing cards.
I didn't even remember those flavor text. Some were pretty chilling.
I've been wanting to try out Lost Kingdoms for awhile now, though I have no idea if this or the sequel is any good
this looks interesting, what is this about?
The old world tournament series on ds and he gx gab game are pretty decent if you don't mind the older sets
Wasn't this game a weird Skittles tie-in?
*breaks your shields*
Ignore me, that was Darkened Skye.
forgot pic
they drew the aesthetic of the Civilizations really well
Light and Water were my favorite but Darkness Chimeras were also cool
I'm gonna go rewatch this
>call it Dark Clown
>doesn't look a goddamn thing like a clown
First one's rough around the edges and 2 fixes some issues with it.
Card based action game.
*rushes at you*
Where are you going to rewatch it?
90% of the entirety of darkness is good art my dood.
>big red bulging red abdomen swollen with blood, sticking out of a blood-drained corpse. If it sticks to a face, it will look like he had a big red nose.
I'll look into it
Can we talk about how based the girls were?
all the mecha thunder tribe looked so cool
Lighting and water tribes really had no appeal to me, on the other hand Nature and Fire had some really high test card designs from time to time.
>that episode when some guy in a robot steps on her deck and somehow it destroyed it
>all these years i've wondered how you can flatten a pile of cards
Fire was high test incarnate. Basically a bunch of swole armored creatures with big weapons.
fuck me, absolutely right there my dude.
>gatling sky terror, LITERALLY A DRAGON FUSED TO A FUCKING HELICOPTER
HELL YEAH
Oh he's a double breaker btw and can fuck your untapped cards.
I never ran fire cards, but I respect these cards.
duel masters has the coolest illustrations even if i never got into the game
As a poor user on /vp/ learned if you put trading cards in a hydraulic press they'll literally melt together into a pancake.
that happens? that's crazy
this is unfortunately considered nu duel masters, but you are right.
i know there is one with 5 cards creating a super robot. i watched the show, understood the rules since it was easy mode MTG but never got into the tcg mainly because nobody in my block played it, it was either yugioh or mtg
Could that have been armored blaster voldios?
Amazing card btw.
But yeah, the simplicity is what made it really fun to play.
The original Duel Masters manga was actually about them playing Magic. The Kaijudo game came later
between this and buddyfight which is more user friendly?
who /chad/ here?
>card so manly it gets non-organic material pregnant
>tfw Force of Will and Buddy Fight are the only things that remind me of Duel Masters
>tfw still suck at card games
haven't tried buddy fight, but duel masters can be taught it like 2 minutes really. Has a great format, even if your opponent is rushing, theres a good chance you can get a sick comeback due shield triggers and what not.
The only reason they did it was because they were worried that the show was too late to compete with other established card game/toyetic tie-ins.
you shared this because?
>tales from the darkside
>cutty black sow
>fuck
Why were there so many mommies in duel masters?
it had good moments though only rarely.
>Shobu beats the dark deck guy
>dark dec guy faints but shobu picks him up
>blondie appears to challenge him
>shobu originally puts dark deck guy down carefully but the dubs added sound effects that he simply dropped him hearing the fall and the groan
is the only thing that really made me laugh
>the animators forgot to drew my eyes
>moments later
>i got my eyes back
HOLY SHIT I can almost remember this holy shit.
>that episode when they were dissing on yugioh
if only they had the creative team of dubbed ghost stories, it would've been such a great dub for a card commercial
Wish there was some decent r34 of her
>calling it Kaijudo
Go fuck yourself
Duel Masters is the true #1 card game.
Same. Too bad they're dead in my area so it's just fucking CfV, Weiss and DBS with MtG of course but I stopped caring for it because the card design screamed desperation with power creep and some "mechanics" being the same as one before with a different word jammed in there.
depends on what you need
GBA's World Tournament 2006[?] was the apex of that gen
OFFICIAL TIER LIST OF YUGIOH GAMES
God tier:
>Tag force(s)
>Duelists of the roses
>Nightmare troubadour
Excellent:
>World Championship 2006
>World Championship 2008
Very good:
>Eternal Duelist Soul
>falsebound kingdom
>Forbidden memories
Good:
>Sacred cards
>Yugi the power etc.
>Dungeon dice monsters
Shit:
>mobile garbage
>reshef of destruction
Stairway to Destined Duel was Eternal Duelist Soul's vastly improved sequel.
It's almost on par with World Championship 2006.
What makes Duelists of the Roses so great? It's very outdated.
It has a pretty interesting special mechanic that lets you set a signature card that you can topdeck under specific(easily attainable) conditions.
Really basic, the music sucks, but Duel Masters is a solid game in and of itself. Presentation's just bad.
That sudden realization when this was an edit
is the big titty girl challenging shobu because they find out she was with the baddies, after shobu defeated her some guy on a robot punishes her by stepping on her deck and they made it look like he stepped on something breakable, but that didn't made a lot of sense because is paper
Where my lightfags at?
Also did anyone ever play this "competitively"? What did the good decks look like? I only ever got to play with cards up to DM-09 or so since that's what Shadow of the Code had.
based
>that cool nigga with the glasses
>Just play it cool...
>Anti-lock brakes... sweet, huh?
>when you slap the Holy Awe down
hey, did you know?
pink is the new black
>they break your last shield
>it's Holy Awe
EDS has much better music and soul. Also the AI cheats a lot more which makes shit exciting.
DOTR is fun as fuck.
If you want a non-gimmick yugioh game just play a tag force
>turns super saiyan when calling his ace card
>look at me im leonardo dicaprio in the titanic
This is hands down the best Yugioh game.
>a non-gimmick yugioh game
>tag force
You mean World Championship 2006
>Also the AI cheats a lot more which makes shit exciting.
In my opinion Stairway to Destined Duel is challenging and long enough. Keep in mind that you have to play with crap decks for a while until you get all the cards you want. That artificially inflates the difficulty for all the Yugioh games, since none of them provide the whole cardlist at once.
Duelist of the Roses is outdated but its an entirely unique interpretation of the game and it has a goddamn amazing soundtrack.
