So why did FROM develop this little side-project anyway? It's such an odd experiment that is completely unlike FROM's other games.

my guess is from wanted to make something different proven also by sekiro
I love fromsoft games is this worth getting my PSVR back from my brother in law?
WhY Is Souul ComPanY nOT OnlY SOooul GAEm?!?!
That and Astrobot are solid VR games, and not experiences. Seriously VR is beginning to get good imo. Not sure how you feel about Borderlands 2 in VR, but it's there too.
It's short and not really interactive. Think of it as watching a really sad book being told to you with interactivity.
Deracine isn't comparable to anything FROM has ever developed. They obviously always had a small appreciation for story-telling in video games, and Deracine is basically they're take on Myst.
What if we made Myst, but worse!
You really shouldn't call Deracine a game.
>that is completely unlike FROM's other games
What you meant to say
>that is completely not Dark Souls
Because that's literally all you know Fromsoft for.
They made plenty of RPGs and exploration games, a lot of them being first person, with mysterious stories (one game literally focused on Rings too same as in this game), so this is not THAT unusual for the company as a whole
So are there puzzles and are they decent?
Can't really call em puzzles. More like context sensitive mcguffins you need to locate and bring back.
It's a sweet time if you have a soft spot for kids and like the idea of trying to take care of them. Skip if you're autistic and hate kids.
There is "a puzzle" to get the secret ending, but otherwise it's mostly just the usual VR fanfare
Very pretty, well voice acted and good story VR fanfare, but still
This was Miya's personal project, apparently.
Ha ha. What a fag.
they were bored of making the same game 5 times in a row
Because they wanted to?

Literally this You only heard about from when Dark Souls explodes. This project isn't so weird for them at all
They made this fucking game as well

Now THAT'S a diversion
Sounds intriguing.
Sony had them under contract for 3 games, starting with Bloodborne. I'm sure they wanted a nice, shiny From Software title with Miyazaki's name all over it to put on the PSVR in the hopes of attracting hardware sales the same way Bloodborne attracted sales of the PS4 itself. They asked From what kind of VR game they could make and Miyazaki's auteur ass slammed this on their desk.
Don't play it if you have a weak heart for defenseless kids getting hurt.
>That
>A diversion
Learn your FromSoft history.
>From never made a game like this before
Echo Night you fucking zoomer shit niggers.
They don't want to be a Souls factory forever, much to the dismay of some people.
I wanted to get this but I realized I don't own any move controllers yet.
Literally Eternal Ring + Kuon + Echo Night, along with repeating elements/references to other From games
>along with repeating elements/references to other From games
Should've had the MLGS.
>completely unlike FROM's other games
I bet you think From Software's first game was Demon's Souls. From has always been known for making weird-ass adventurish shit that's completely unmarketable and plays like nothing else. If anything, Deracine is return to form for them.
>developers should only make the same game over and over
Unironically kill yourself.
