What are some video games that you like? They don't have to games in your top 10 that you love to jerk off. Just games that you like, but can see the flaws in them. But if you want to post your all time favorite games, that's fine too.

Hey, I’ll give this thread a bump.
I like pretty much anything by Suda51, despite them not really being the best in terms of gameplay. It’s really everything else about them that makes them worthwhile experiences in my opinion.

I like Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

The Desolate Hope is a piece of shit, but it's one of the most interesting pieces of shit I've ever played, and I'm glad I gave it my time.

If the trailer interests you, check it out. The JRPG bossfights, where you entire party is made up of horrific grooving rapebots trapped in a psychadelic cyberdiscoplane, need to be experienced firsthand.

These are the kind of posts I'm looking for. Thanks user. I hope we can get some more.

Valkyrie Drive.
While pretty simplistic when it came to combat compared to other action games, it was enjoyable to play (gameplay-wise I liked it far more than Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus, the only other game from that developer that I've tried) and the story was neat (basically a shonen plot but with tits). Somehow I got 40 hours out of the PC port.
It saddens me how it bombed spectacularly and we will never get a sequel.

I like simple timewasters from a simpler era.

I drop by the arcade once a week to hit up Maximum Tune 5, Sound Voltex, Time Crisis 5, and,
>The Raw Thrills 2015 Jurassic Park remake.

I really liked GTAIV despite its flaws
>relatively small map
>no planes
>slippery driving
>boring missions (this is a problem with almost every modern r* game)

The enclosed streets made the boat driving more enjoyable and I really like how the map is clustered with small alleyways, bridges and various stairsteps all around. The game seemed to have had the map designed around on-foot travel if that makes sense.

If I had it my way, I would like a GTA that is more toned down. More intense close distance fighting and less mowing down hordes of cops with a minigun and rocket launcher.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's Memory. It really didn't have the biggest budget, exploration isn't very interesting, too many side quests at time.

But it oozes charm and I love the monster collecting. Characters are really fun and the dialogue is great. Honest to goodness great JRPG combat. Please give it a try if you liked FFX or SMT Nocturne.

The Wonderful 101 is a deeply flawed game. It has a brick wall of a skill curve and punishes bad play extremely harshly. It's got a shitload of gimmicky sections that kill the pacing on replays. It's ugly as sin. Despite all that, it's my favourite game of the generation. There's a ton of room for self-expression and creativity in the combat system, the plot and characters are more engaging and memorable than I ever would've expected. You could tell the development team poured their hearts into this game, and that they really believed in it.

Halo 5
It's actually a really good arena shooter it just has some dumb decisions

Xcom 2 is fantastic. The customization options really just do everything for me

Lethal League Blaze is fun as hell. It looks like the sort of shitty multiplayer game you'd pick up to play for a weekend with a couple friends and drop forever, but it has a lot more going on than it first appears. Don't think I'll ever drop 8 hours straight into it or anything, but it's a A+ game to play for when you and your friends are between titles and need an old favourite to fall back to.

IV’s always been my favorite GTA for these reasons. I just like how the city feels.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
this game is everything I like in video games. It's just you, a 2 minute timer and the desire to prove to yourself that you can get that high score or unlock that new character. I miss arcadey score attack games so much.

I prefer XCOM:EW The Long War. I appreciate XCOM2 wanted to shake up the tactical metagame by encouraging proactive play, but turn limits ended up wiping out every viable strategy that wasn't alpha-striking instead of just nerfing overwatch crawls. Psi and Grenadier soldiers are also disgustingly, gamewarpingly overpowered. The same is also true of a lot of alien's abilities, too: letting a Gatekeeper or something get an action off is a death wish. You wind up only engaging with aliens as healthbars to deplete, with your huge AoE nukes and +20 damage shotgun crits. When even dime-a-dozen pod filler cannon fodder enemies can sprint across the map out of fog to fish for knockouts, you know something is wrong with their design methodology.

Long War turns into a grueling chore towards the grind to plasma gear, but the way its tech tree blossoms out in all directions after lasers is so engaging that I'll sometimes nuke my own campaign just to get back to that state quicker.

I'm really pumped for the inevitable XCOM3. I'm praying that they'll finally address the shitty pod system that's hung a shadow over the nuCom games. If they balance the game around multiple turn engagements I think they could have something really special on their hands.

Xcom2 was a hugely positive game for me though one that I saw flaws in. I have 660 hours in it, one of if not the most next to arma for my steam games. I love it and Solomon and his team. That being said:

>T2 and T3 armor looked atrocious. T3 armor suffered from skin-tight 'superhero syndrome', and the helmets were objectively awful because of no neck protection, so it was less covering of the face than a UV welder's mask would be.
>T3 weapons were too hyperadvanced for me. They looked more advanced than alien weapons, save for the psi rifle. The T2 magnetic guns were fantastic however.
>I understand the narrative choice of it but I missed the pure alien force (minus thin mints looking human) of EU/EW.
As said alphastriking is mandatory in Xcom2, in large part I feel not just because of abilities but the timers. In Eu/EW timers were soft-restriction, in Xcom2 they were hard-restriction and in some missions INSANELY punishing. "If you don't make it to the LZ your entire squad is captured" punishing, not "Mission failed" punishing.

And like user said, Fix the pod system in Xcom3.

finished it recently so i can talk about it.
had more fun with this game than the others i played so far (VII and IV, yet to finish V) but honestly this game is messy and unpolished.
i still really like it and recomend it tough, just be warned you will want to break this thing open using exploits.

I like dungeon defenders, the end game gets quite grindy but its fun

Crazy Taxi.
It's basically a time capsule of the late 90's/early 2000's. I also find it interesting that it's an arcade game, but it's non-linear in the sense that it takes place in a single large level. It's simple and fast-paced, yet it offers plenty of freedom for the player to approach playing.
