Post your Vita man.
Vita Thread
Play pro yakyuu spirits, a better baseball game instead
My vita has a very small chip in the screen at the lower right-hand corner and it makes me so fucking made you don't even know.
I wish I knew how to switch out screens or at least the plastic covering it.
>love the hardware of the Vita
>it ended up being nothing but failed potential
I would have been happy with ports. The idea of a portable PS2/PS3 would have been perfect for me.
I still play MvC3 from time to time, and I 100%'d Disgaea 3.
Why did it have to end like this? The Vita didn't deserve this fate.
There's a lot of ports and multiplats.
IT'S MA'AM
Honestly the playstation TV literally removed the need to buy a vita as it allowed anything decent to be accessed.
The only appeal left for me is the ability to easily play PS1 games on it, but even the original PSP allowed for that before the store shut down.
>Honestly the playstation TV literally removed the need to buy a vita
Not really since the Vita is a handheld and the PSTV is..not.
Going to be rolling with it long after it has been discontinued, same with my pstv(should have bought 4 more when they I got it at 50$).
Planning on getting a blue one soon.
Already hacked and loaded.
It ain't right what Sony did to it. They were so close to perfection.
Theres an okay amount, but far from what I'd call a lot. The varying quality in ports also drags the number down as well. Borderlands 2 in particular is a complete shitfest that's near unplayable.
>The only appeal left for me is the ability to easily play PS1 games on it, but even the original PSP allowed for that before the store shut down.
Exactly. I had access to a hacked PSP before the Vita was even a thing, so while it being a portable PS1 is nice, I found it irrelevant. The second analog sticks made some games more accessible, and even improved some PSP games like Metal Gear Portable Ops, but hardly what I'd call a selling point or defining feature.
The Vita is so underwhelming, and I'm not happy about that.
Nah, it's best with both pstv and vita. For the cross save and play.
I've been playing helldivers and borderlands 2 with ps4 users lately.
The switch is what the vita should have been.
I just picked up the show 14 for 8 bucks at gamestop, the show 15 is like 30 bucks on ebay, fuck that. Why doesn't EA have it on the vita store?
It's cool 2k updated borderlands 2 years after its release on vita.
Still, it's best played with an overclocked vita
Vita is the best handheld ever
My SD2Vita is giving me shit, but I managed to downgrade both of my Vitas, and the one that has my PSN shit and physical games is still packing 16GB of free space. About to get Cytus on there and finally play it again. There's a sale on some rhythm games, and I'm thinking of chipping into that as well.
I don't have a recent picture, so here.
post my vita? if you say so.
This is the average Vita user.
Should be a loli, not a furry.
I think I'll start ninja gaiden this weekend. Any tips?
gitgud
Wrong. The average Vita user is a fat guy in a bib.
>tfw actually bought Sorcery Saga on sale for under 10 bucks
>still haven't bothered to play it
surprisingly easy to fix the vita screen even if you need news to remove everything to get to it
>need news
what the fuck
I don't know if I can do that. I'm pretty bad at video games. Is is something that can only be enjoyed if played on the highest difficulty or would normal mode be better for a noob?
You can achieve okay results just by editing the eboot to lower the res and modify the graphical settings a bit
The internet is quite literally standing in front of you with a pair of thick thighs waiting to be spread to reveal its sopping wet mound of knowledge.
Find out how to do it and do it, you'll be happy that you did.
Not gonna post a picture, but it would have Hotline Miami or Iconoclasts on it.
>Playing NInja Gaiden on the highest difficulty when you don't even know how to play
Yeah, that's retarded.
Why does the Vita compress the fuck out of wallpapers? Its infuriating.
nothing better than getting stoned and playing Vita
All I have on it are ports.
gid gaemz den :DD
Have plenty of PS1 games.
Tried WOFF, Danganronpa, and Gravity Rush. All were terrible.
I got that slim pink vita. Still pretty. I should one day buy new games for it. Last i bought was steins;gate, still have to go back and finish that true route or whatever
hell yeah, I've been trying to get a handheld thread going all day
Just beat MGS2 on hard, tough but comfy as fuck playing in bed.
OP is that your pic? If so, how is that case? Does it have the clearance for a glass screen protector?
air thru nose laugh/10
I don't know how Gravity Rush was terrible, at worst it should be average. Though what personally hooked me to the Vita was WipeOut 2048, and really enjoyed TxK and Soul Sacrifice. Other games are Vita versions with some additional content like Muramasa Rebirth or EDF 2017 which I enjoyed a ton online. Then of course Romancing SaGa 2. Waiting on the RS3 remaster to hit.
those are some fine looking buds, mate. Enjoy
How'd you put those psx games on the home screen? They just show up in adrenaline for me.
Mine ain't hacked. 3.70
You buy them.
t. has never actually bought a PS1 game and installed it to his Vita
If it had a persona 5 and maybe some of the PS2 SMT's like nocturne it would have been literally the greatest handheld of all time.
I wish konami came through with that MGS4 port/remake though, so you can play through all the original series on one system, but oh well.
Still holding out for a reicast port, I think with overclocking it can at least handle SA 1 and 2.
There's a bunch of PS1 games that need analog support that the PSP doesn't have, like ace combat 3 (theres an eboot of the translated version floating around)
how are the ninja gaiden games?
>People that hop on after the Vita was discontinued
Can I combine the storage from the SD2Vita with the snoy memory card?
I still don't really get how it works
Oh my bad.
Because the game industry is ran by fat cats at the head of organisations who basically have absolutely no idea what people want and what would be successful. The vita could have easily been a success by brokering deals for enhanced ps2 ports, scaled down ps3 ports and exclusive games. They fucked it right up after the initial launch wave of games and lost any small amount of momentum they had. The ridge racer port was a rush job. The wipeouts needed longer to sort the loading times. Hell, when borderlands 2 arrived (which was a great idea on paper) it was a broken shitty port. There are many examples of this sort of shit.
>>Still holding out for a reicast port, I think with overclocking it can at least handle SA 1 and 2.
I don't see why they couldn't port the PSN versions to Vita. I doubt they'd have to downgrade it that much to make it work well.
>3.68
Is it possible to mod a Vita in this state?
>The vita could have easily been a success by brokering deals for enhanced ps2 ports
I thought ports were what made people dismiss the thing to begin with?
I think so? I haven't tried to, because I've got enough shenanigans to deal with.
the JSR port is great, SEGA is retarded.
The vita didn't get a single original sonic game, even the 3DS got shit (generations was ok though, it had Heroes special stages).
Why the FUCK did the vita not at least get a mania port? Still mad.
I bought a vita, hacked it and realized it has literally no games and retroarch is pretty shit for SNES.
What do I put on this thing?
no. the vita can only read one of them as the "memory card". you can still use the other one to store roms on.
snes9x 2005 has run every single game I've thrown at it just fine, including translated SMT, DQ and FE games. The only game that needed an overclock was kirby 3, but it's one of the harded SNES games to run anyway, and it run full speed with the overclock.
ah gotcha, guess I'll have to backup my saves then.
>mfw I bought a Vita just to play Persona 4 Golden and haven't touched it since
>all those different times
TxK, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Muramasa Rebirth, Tearaway, Lumines: Electronic Symphony, and Velocity Ultra.
>retroarch is pretty shit for SNES
use the 2005 core, go into core settings and turn reduce slowdown to max. most games will run fullspeed.
there are are few games (SMRPG, DQ5, FF6) that don't run fullspeed in the 2005 core, use the 2002 core instead, I don't recommend it for all games because of some minor graphical glitches.
I just got the Breaker Edition of GE3. Had the original, but didnt wanna pony up $60 of SEA dollars to get the DLC. This was cheaper
Don't confuse bad ports no one wants with decent ports that would be popular. They fucked up gran turismo on PSP. Why not port over a fully fledged GT at launch. What about a perfect ridge racer collection or something new that could run at fucking 60fps. What about a tekken or Soul Calibur? Street fighter IV like the 3ds did but a fucking perfect port? They did mvc3 and fucking sf vs tekken but not sfIV? That's what I'm on about. Fucking stupid.
i am so goddamned mad how sony didn't even try to make games for it. it's the best fucking dedicated handheld gaming device we'll ever have. is cfw for this thing reliable to run all PSP games? i would have been happy if sony got PSP games on PSN but they didn't even get a quarter of them fucking hell
You can play the entire fucking Ys series including the literal GOAT games oath in flemghana and origin. Get on it.
DQ5 ran full speed with 2005 for me. latest dejap version at stock clocks.
the white one is my main vita (it's in the "worst" shape). I impulse bought 4 vitas, 3 small N3DS, 3 N3DS XLs, 3 DSis and 2 DSI XLs, because I realized prices were gonna shoot up on the vitas and 3DS once they stopped being made.
It's pretty hard to find a
Perfect GBA emulation on Vita when? My go to test has been the intro of FFVI with the burning logo.
>I thought ports were what made people dismiss the thing to begin with?
The Vita is one system that would have highly benefited from ports. The pick up and play wherever aspect of a handheld would fare well to a great many of ps2 games that require a large investment of time to complete.
Being able to put the system into sleep mode at any point in a game is great too.
I think this is why Switch owners seem so desperate for ports. They have the option to not only play it in a traditional setting, but to take it with them as well.
Playing through Tyrian 2000 right now.
>You can play the entire fucking Ys series including the literal GOAT games oath in flemghana and origin. Get on it.
Is there a single one where the vita version is as good as the PC/PS4 version? I own ys 8 but I keep hearing that I shouldn't bother playing it because the new versions improve things.
>DQ5 ran full speed with 2005 for me
I encountered some slowdown during certain events, such as the ship entering and leaving port, and at the start of battles.
>I impulse bought 4 vitas, 3 small N3DS, 3 N3DS XLs, 3 DSis and 2 DSI XLs
lmao, are you hoarding them or did you buy them to resell?
Anyone know any good bullet hells for vita?
I know most of you don't buy games, but if you're a buyfag then there's a small sale on PSN: store.playstation.com
Probably the best deal is Mary Skelter for 80% off since that game is rare as fuck now.
Pretty sure ridge racer vita was 60 fps, but it was nuracer with stupid nitro shit and it had like 20% of the content of the PSP games.
RRT4 is still the GOAT RR.
I agree though, every company shat on the vita even though it's literally the perfect console-power handheld and much better executed than the swtich.
Early on it got plenty of great ports though.
You can play the entire rayman series on the vita for example, same with Ys, every persona game up to 4, MGS 1,2,3,PO,PW, all the sly games etc.
Also has a ton of original games.
try VBA next through retroarch with a full overclock with lolicon. I didn't try FFVI but golden sun ran great.
Nigga you got the entire PCE/PS/SNES/SMS/PSP/Vita library plus MAME and you ask what's a good danmaku for the Vita?
Like, really nigga?
Thanks user, bought Mary Skelter and Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls.
Are you using nightlies? also overclocking would probably fix any slowdown.
Hoarding. I don't have a single PC that can handle emulating MGS3 so the vita is pretty dear to me.
the 3ds because it has GBA and DS hardware, the former is important to me because if you want a functional, backlight gba with a good flashcart these days you're shelling out at least $200.
The one time I early adopted something was the OG DS, and while I loved the thing the lite had much better screens and I was salty as fuck. the DSi is basically a ds lite that can play games without a flashcart and they're stupid cheap on ebay.
bro just do this, but now you can move with the dpad and map the stick to buttons
1 runs fine on its own.
2 has slow down in some areas. Ninja run mode doesn't work at all.
This guys review is accurate and precisely what I experienced
m.youtube.com
Overclocking it fixes the slow down.
I was an early adopter and I still forget the Vita exists sometimes, but when I do remember, I just look at it as a strange little beast. Over the years to term "under-powered" has been thrown around at systems that're relatively weak in their generation, but the irony with the Vita is that while it was a fairly powerful system for it's time, you have to go pretty far back to find a system with specs as unsuitable for it's purpose as the Vita. Sony just tried to will the Vita into punching above it's weight and being a full console on the go. Somewhere there's an alternative reality where the Vita is an amazing successor to the PSP and not the PS3's underachieving little brother but it wasn't to be for us. RIP.
i don't even own a vita and it just makes me pissed off that it never got actual good support like the original psp
It's because of all these choices I wanted to get a suggestion from vita users
I'll try that out.
I got one of those cases off Aliexpress and pressing start/select is kinda of a pain
Pulled this up last week to get ready for a ys marathon.
>vertical play
Omg yes. I didnt know it could do that. Awesooome.
>never got actual good support
Depends what you mean by "good support". First party? Not great. Third party? The Vita got more games than it deserved and its still getting games that it frankly, does not deserve. The third party support is great.
Anyone know why h-encore might not be detecting my Vita? I've got it connected properly with the right software installed to detect it
gpSP mod is pretty good
naptishim is on PSP too.
>tfw playing PS1 games on the OLED Vita
Chrono Cross looks so good holy shit
Can you emulate NDS on the vita?
first party i guess, the psp if i recall had a lot.
I don't really see any interest in the third party section for the vita because they're ports, mobile-like games, or genres i don't really like.
>The Vita got more games than it deserved
does it connect with QCMA? open up the content manager on your vita and see if it sees your PC
it's unplayably slow. supposedly there is still work being done but I wouldn't expect anything.
Yup, connecting to it via USB allows me to detect my pc however h-encore won't detect the vita and "go"
well, you could just do it the old way, manually. it takes less than an hour.
So the vita version of 8 sucks but what about origin?
really? i got to the screen and than pussied out
They finally came in the mail.
does chrono trigger runs at full speed now?
Enso/permanent hack for 3.68 when?
Fucking same. My white 1000 has two pretty deep scratches on the right side of the screen that, while not catastrophic, are a fucking eyesore, and the right strap loop is completely broken off. I almost want to get a blue 2000 for a clean look and light weight, even if I lose my OLED screen
>256GB
That's a lot of space.
I take it from these threads that nobody likes the orange Vita. Sad desu.
SD to Vita Adapter
How well do these work? it sounds like a fucking godsend to have
it works well, setting up the driver can be a pain
Gib wallpaper.
they work perfectly, just be aware you become a full time pirate when using one because it uses the game card slot, not the memory card slot.
Ridge Racer Vita makes an attempt at 60 but in practice it dips constantly. The two PSP games despite also having nitro shit all over it. Aside from looking slightly nicer it has absolutely nothing going for it and the UI is fucking terrible.

I've been really wanting to buy a Vita recently, but I can't find a place that isn't selling them for ludicrous prices
Any recommendations?
white trash, everybody. clean your room you filth.
good luck, prices went to fuck since it ended production
ill say go to your local vidya market
I just launch that gba emu for psp on the psp emu
I bought mine for for $90 a day before the production end was announced. I feel so lucky.
There's a gamestop nearby that's selling used ones for $150.00
Other than that, I don't live by any game stores. GameStop is basically my only option
I like the color, but isn't that a Vita 2K? I got my Vita when they announced they will be releasing a 2K line soon and I wanted to get a juicy 1k before they discontinued it.
Which one?
Dunno. Never played ys. This is prep work to get my own opinion.
When you format it, use 64 allocated memory.
Memory cards that size need to be set to that or it will misread the card.
T.400gb sd2vita.
I keep seeing these threads, and i have some questions since im curious about the vita:
>What can I emulate with it?
>Is the music player any good?
>Can I put movies/tv/files etc on to it easily
>Is hacking difficult?
Search your local craigslist, shops like FUCKING GAMESTOP or Facebook market (I know, zucc and everything, but it's an option nevertheless). And if you see faggots asking more than 100 dollars for it, tell them to eat shit cuz no one will buy it for that much.
I'm a ruski and I bought Vita easily for $100 while searching local selling services, it was in mint condition, with charger and everything, on 3.65 ( = hackable), also it was with an official 16GB memory card and UMvC3 cartridge. Great deal, if you ask me. Really nice to play Danganronpa on the go.
What were your favorite games on the vita? I fucking loved Tales of Hearts R and felt like it was the best game on the entire device next to Persona 4 Golden.
I'll give craigslist a shot, thanks for the tip
for you
But true. 64GB is a little small for game hoarders like me. 128GB should be enough
>What can you emulate
Fourth generation consoles and earlier. N64 has work on it. There's also ScummVM for point-and-click games
>Is the music player good?
Yeah, it's good. Playlist support and responsive
>Can I put movies/TV/files etc
Last I recall is that you need a .thp file CMA generates when bringing over a video file before you can put any other video file. Don't think Vitashell supports video files, yet. No MKV
>Is hacking difficult
Nah, it's easier than 3DS. Setup's about the same level as Switch, minus backing up your files
>someones selling the wifi model with Final Fantasy X in good condition for 110 bucks
>over 30 mins away driving distance
i don't know if this is worth it
Hard to say. I loved WipEout 2048, it is what got me hooked to my Vita. Favorite JRPG has to easily be Romancing SaGa 2. Velocity Ultra was a surprise to me and was highly addictive, and playing EDF 2017 with vitagen were some of the best multiplayer matches I've played. I liked Darkest Dungeon because I could chill in bed and play it.
loved playing danganronpa games and currently playing srw5 and chaos child
If the firmware is 3.69/3.70 (which are still unhackable) and/or he doesn't give any official memory cards, demand a price cut to at least $100.
The black Vita can be found pretty cheap but the white ones are usually sold at a premium, for some reason.
Be careful of the mura effect on the Vita though.
Anyone have any bad luck with overclocking? I've been wanting to do it but I really don't want to nuke my Vita.
Freedom Wars
Nah, it won't damage your Vita
mura is a non issue. You only see it in pitch black on a black screen.
So can I leave max overclocked as the default setting or is that just foolishness? I know it's not hard to swap it on and off, but it's still pretty fucking annoying to have to do it every time I swap programs.
You can, but when you do, change the Livearea and any system apps back to their default speed
pretty sure LOLIcon has an option to set the default overclock per-program
True.
When the game is loaded, you can save the settings for that game exclusively.
Vita games that run fine, you wont have to have it switched on.
>Fourth generation consoles and earlier. N64 has work on it. There's also ScummVM for point-and-click games
So no Ps1 or Psp workarounds?
Other than that, thank you. I'm sick of my phone, and I miss having an ipod, plus actual gaming on the go? Vita seems awesome
What screen options do you guys have for PSP mode? I already did the color registry thing.
You can play PSP and PS1 games just fine. I didn't count them because they're official, but use Adrenaline for PSP/PSX games. Don't know if AdrenalineBubbleManager is the latest method to put PSP/PSX games to your Liveare. Maybe another user knows.
which is the best version of the show for vita?
maybe if you know japanese.
based chrono bro
Did you make the eboot yourself or the PSN one?
I remember CC had a problem on the PSP where it would crash after the first boss.
Gimme a sec and I'll check for ya
1k is the better vita. 2k is just too flimsy feeling and the screen sucks.
It doesn't suck though, pretty much on par with the switch version.
>Never played MGS 2 and 3, Sly trilogy, and Final Fantasy X/X-2
Which of these should I play first?
->fat nigga playing sports games
Now THIS is comedy.
snes9x 2005plus and 2005 work fine with overclock, even the mode 7 parts.
I’d say MGS 3, then Final Fantasy X, then MGS2, then Sly Trilogy. X-2 is crap.
Radical dreamers is fine too
MGS1 if you havent, then 2 and 3. Play on hard
I've read that X is a shitty remake and you're better off emulating though.
r8 my homescreen. I only have an 8 gig card atm, gonna buy an sd2vita soon.
X isn’t a remake though. It’s just a high-res port. Who fucking told you that?
