In Thorium there is the butterfly staff, made by wood and butterflies, is pretty decent, there is also the living wood armor, can be done without killing a single thing and are easy to get.

There was no WoF. Skeletron was the hardest boss the game had to offer, and your reward was being able to fuck around in the dungeon.

Skeletron was THE hardest boss, nothing else from there, no WoF or anything, just good old hell and the dungeon as endgame.

What would you guys think if biomes were bigger and more developed but you couldn't get them all in the same world? Obviously biomes like Jungle are obligatory, but maybe something like snow and desert being optional but giving you more to do.

I always thought something like sailing could be interesting, it's disappointing that they're little more than markers for where the world ends.

If the world wrapped around at the oceans, you could set your base anywhere and not be pissed off for most of the game until you get teleporters.

I'd like world/event customization, just think about the possibilities.

apparently otherworld wasn't actually terraria 2, but a spinoff, allegedly 2 is still in development.

In all honestly I see a sequel in the sense of a lineal upgrade of the game instead of a deviation as pointless. They can just keep piling up content on Terraria instead.
When Terraria 2 comes out it will have to compete with its predecessor and the humongous amount of content it has.

The only similar games I can think of are Starbound and Realms of Magic (which is still in early access).

I heard Starbound is pretty bad, essentially a half-assed Terraria with multiple single-biome worlds.

It's not great, the procedural generation for almost everything makes it so that nothing feels special. There's some cool hand-made content but that'll eventually repeat so it's not as exciting. Also the way it's balanced is weird, and they had to redo the progression like 3 different times.
Still there's enough there: upgrading and hanging out in the hub world was cool, farming and building is chill, and the campaign was entertaining enough; I ended up playing almost 200 hours altogether.

Im just waiting for a modded server.

i'm glad the mods add things to forward the time of day and shit. craft one out of a magic mirror, some souls of light/night, and the enchanted sundial. i skip blood moons/eclipses if i don't feel like doing them. it also helps speed up fishing quests

I feel like any attempt at a sequel to Terraria will run into The Sims problem. The amount of content in a new game, especially one with more detail/more time required to create assets, will never be able to match the amount of content in Terraria.
