It's a solid and enjoyable game, but... >not enough Dante >forgettable music >bland environments >shitty level design >retread story >same boss too many times
Dante's gameplay is great, and Nero's is much better than 4. Even V is an interesting addition. But literally just the combat is good. Everything else is mediocre to disappointing. Graphics/performance don't get in the way, but they don't really add anything overall. If you want to spend 800 hours in Bloody Palace, this might be the best one. But as a video game, it's only okay (B-).
>forgettable music >bland environments >shitty level design Are you new to this franchise?
Elijah Howard
It’s as good as it could have been for such an outdated game type
Lincoln Wright
Mr. Autismo. This game is literally Devil May Cry Vergil
Andrew Stewart
>>>>forgettable music >old DMC
Dylan Brooks
There are only 2 Vergil fights, though.
Elijah Sanders
>what is Urizen
Ian Walker
>>forgettable music Soundtrack is excellent, what? Even the level music is pretty good. It's not DMC1 in terms of iconic music but it's pretty good. >bland enviroments If you mean in terms of colour, yeah I guess. I kind of like the muted look the game has, it makes the effects pop out more. Plus DMC1-3 aren't exactly bursting with color. >shitty level design Best in the series honestly >retread story What even >same boss too many times Legitimate complaint, but I think that Urizen (3) is different enough to justify him being his own boss fight.
>Soundtrack is excellent, You honestly have awful taste in music. >Best in the series honestly And you clearly haven't played any of the games without your brain turned off.
Brandon Perez
dumb consolefags
Jordan Brown
>if it doesn't have same fighting style then it doesn't count despite that being the same character Vergil in 3 didn't fight the same in neither of his fights. >Yamato in 1st battle >Beowulf in 2nd >Force Edge in 3rd Does this means you didn't fight Vergil 3 times in 3 then?
Mason Hernandez
Oh hey look, it's one of these threads again
>I'm gonna take a well-recieved game, say it's good, and then undercut my own point by listing off a bunch of complaints that I'm going to pass off as legitimate grievances
>In about an hour, I'm going to make a "Why aren't video games fun anymore?" meta-thread, completely missing the irony in the act
Tyler Ward
Devil May Cry games don’t have good level design, what they do have is a lot of annoying backtracking and this game is all the better for it. A lot of the tracks in this game, such as Calvalier Angelo and Nico’s themes are pretty good. Get over yourself
Easton Morgan
>But literally just the combat is good. Everything else is mediocre to disappointing.
So what you're saying is It's a Devil May Cry game
Ayden Perez
>Soundtrack is excellent, This has to be a joke. It's one of the weakest points in this game. No comment on "WUB WUB" garbage on last mission.
Hudson Russell
They had better level design that 5 which is almost completely lacking of it. Again, shit taste in music. It's the worst in the series by far in these two areas.
Easton Powell
WHERE THE FUCK IS THE LUCIA DLC
Christian Gomez
>>if it doesn't have same fighting style then it doesn't count despite that being the same character Pretty much, yes, since gameplay is the only thing that matters. If a fight with the same person is in a completely different fighting style, then it is a different fight. I guess at the end of every Megaman game when you fight Wily there's no difference since you fight him every time, right? retard >Vergil in 3 didn't fight the same in neither of his fights. Actually shut the fuck up, he absolutely does fight identically. He uses judgement cut every fight, he uses air trick every fight, and Dt's for 2 and 3. Shut the fuck up retard
>shitty level design that's every DMC game except DmC faggot
Aiden Robinson
>cavailere theme is bad >character themes are bad >final vergil themes are bad >urizen area theme is bad Etc. A lot of it is pretty good.
Xavier Rogers
But the Urizen fights are all different >First is a complete and utter curb stomp because you're just too unprepared for it >Second is with you more kitted out but still struggling to leave that much of a dent on him >Third is with a super powered Dante showing he is beatable >Fourth is with Urizen going full out in order to stay competitive with Dante
Chase Allen
Sorry, kiddo. But I'm not fan of music that sounds as if someone is trying hard to take a shit. Which is exactly how WUB WUB garbage sounds to me.
Aaron Morris
>b-b-but t-t-the other games were better in level design First off, no they weren’t. Second off, if it wasn’t that big of an issue then, it’s not now >again, shit taste in music You’re pretty condescending, you know that Barry? It’s not a good look. No u btw
Alexander Hall
>shitposting for a "living" on Yea Forums lmao why not just kill yourself aaaaaay
Oliver Rivera
Shitposting on Yea Forums is good not great
Ayden Price
The only themes that are wub wub are KC and Nero v Vergil though. I’ll give you KCs being trash though
Jack Johnson
On pc
Benjamin Evans
>Devil Trigger >Subhuman >Crimson Cloud >Goliath's Theme >Faded Tone Literally every other track I can't even remember.
Camden Brown
The Cerberus theme was the worst song I've ever heard in ANY game.
Blake Hughes
lol how exciting!
Asher Foster
>lmao You should take your own advice instead, leddit.
Chase Wright
What difficulty should I start on? I beat the first game at launch but it's been so long that I don't remember if I played on normal or hard.
Robert Fisher
dante looks liike maxmoefoe and vergil looks like james de franco
Thomas Myers
Voltaic Black Knight?
Nicholas Martin
This. I wouldn't even call it a song. The start is great, but after the 25 second mark, it's just dark ambiance with some quick wubs here and there. youtube.com/watch?v=NK4YbzLuNDM
>First off, no they weren’t. Yes they were. Enemies were built for specific environments. Look at those laser shooting wraiths in 4 and the section with the floor that vanishes. That's good level design. 1, 2, 3, and 4 had sections like this. 5 has practically nothing like this, most areas are literal hallways.
Who the fuck is Barry? And if I seem that way it's because you're lying about the game, the music is fucking terrible for a DMC.
Jason Adams
the only thing about this game that wasn't instantly forgettable was nero's theme music.
Brody Reed
>same boss too many times Do you mean boss refights? Because only V does a boss rush and even then is missing them. Or do you mean having to fight Urizen? I don't mind refighting bosses with some changes, like rivals such as Vergil, but I'm more miffed about forced loss fights >bland environments Can agree there, but it's more in the case that tree was boring. Only really changed during M8 and M16 when you go down to King Cerberus' area. I liked the city, never saw blandness, but it needed more gothic areas since it was based off of London. Even if it's a grey shithole, there's some good architecture here. >not enough Dante >only get him halfway through the game Should've allowed us to play through everyone else's as someone else as an option after beating a runthrough or had more missions in general. The wait for BP is killing me >>forgettable music I wouldn't say forgettable, more hit and miss. Liked faded tone, DMC1 remixes, Voltaic Black Knight, Niddhog's theme, the violin theme that plays when you get to Urizen's area, menu themes and nico's shop. Other boss themes were more desired and I may overall prefer most of the series in terms of ost quality in general.
Why do you all have such terrible taste. This is easily the best OST in the franchise with maybe the exception of DMC1. The other games had a couple of good songs while DMC5 is almost nothing but great music across the board. The menu themes, the city ambience, it's fucking great.
Austin Murphy
Cerberus fight was bad too. >expecting a remix >hear a glimpse of it >get ear cancer instead If you're going to rehash bosses do it right you fucking fags
Brandon King
Damn I didn't mean to BTFO your music taste that bad.
Jack Hughes
the music level design are definitely the biggest problems with the game
my theory is the guy who did subhuman that got kicked off the game for being a pedo did a bunch of the other tracks and they didn't have the time or resources to re-record everything by the release date
Josiah Morales
You are shitposting.
Sebastian Hill
I like it
I even like Akuma's Tekken 7 theme instead of remixing the same theme a billion times
Kevin Anderson
The dnc remix in the Story so far video would have been a neat addition.
Nah, that's absolutely not even the biggest offense of that track. >hear a bit of suffer >think it's going to be a remix, would even be cool with an EDM one like silver bullet was for Devil trigger >get that >Suffer's not even a DLC track Always forced to start on normal/devil hunter in these games before you can unlock hard. Never really got that, hard mode should be an option from the start and VH/DMD/other gimmick difficulties should be unlocked via progressive competition >couldn't hear it How come, I could hear that sexy track despite styling on angelo
Robert Morris
One of the best things are the cutscenes and only a handful of them are great in 5. Most of them are tryhard badass cringefests.
Faust’s sucked the biggest dicks my dude, whittle them down with your gun and slash at them and they just take it and repeat the process over again and that section with the disappearing floors is the most gimmicky shit. Do you want more shitty puzzles? More of those laser rooms from 4? Why? Nobody liked that shit, and it’s better that they got rid of that fluff
I’m not lying about the game, you’re just a prick is all. The tracks are good
>forgettable music I'll say this. The Music i want for my fights should always trump over the ambient music. If i want to hear Devil Trigger in my fights all the time i should have that option versus a small percentage of my fights. In fact Dante/V's Theme for majority of their missions play correct unlike Nero.
Asher Walker
My nigga right here. You get it.
Most DMCV's cutscenes were just close ups of characters faces so that you could see their zits. Fucking shameful.
Henry Adams
Agreed. Move along. I do think Urizen 3 is disappointing. I was expecting some Mundus tier bullshit.
Kayden Stewart
Turn up the music in setting dumbass, how could you not hear it unless you’re half deaf
Adrian Butler
The story is a retread only if you ignore the familial and emotional growth the characters go through. Yes, "big demon dick in the middle of the city" is a retread. Nothing else is.
The tracks fucking suck, there are some good songs like the not-Nico shop tune but most are terrible and utterly forgettable.
>a lack of level design is good level desig You're dumb as fuck.
Samuel Roberts
The biggest praise I can give to 5's enemy designs is that all of them are fun to fight except for the requisite "hehexd" tier enemy like Blitz, which is embodied in Fury. And even Fury is fun to fight if you get stylish.
Jaxon Cox
What if I can get into the beat but I forget it after Nah, I couldn't even hear all 3 after a while. The moment in M15 where you hear Devil Trigger blasting out of nowhere spooked me
Asher Stewart
I've heard it online, and it's nothing special.
Hunter Sullivan
No u
Easton Roberts
>the familial and emotional growth the characters go through What?
Asher Nelson
this may be true but compared to all of the other literal fucking trash that the AAA industry has been shitting out, It really IS fucking great
Jordan Phillips
Honestly I didn't really want too many remixes in this game; I would prefer it to have it's own musical identity which it does for the most part
But in a fight that is PURE nostalgia bait, having an arena reminiscent to Vergil 1, an attack in direct homage to Vergil stabbing Dante at the end of Vergil 1, etc., A musical callback to the motifs of 3 is literally the only route you should go
Nero and V's battle themes are good, I didn't care too much for Dante's so I changed it to DMC3's theme.
Carter Jenkins
Repetitive environments are genuinely my only problem. It's like they had a ~4 different modular sets that they had to make fit an entire game and none of them has a lot of variety. Not-London was a copy-paste hack job.
I have the same problem with RE2 and RE7 though so I think this is just a Capcom problem in general.
Christopher Ross
Based on this conversation I can tell you’re very special
Elijah Hill
Are you? DMC has some kickass tracks.
Jackson Parker
How are the enemies in 5 fun? They don't even fight back outside of 3 exceptions, one of which just has that counter attack when you knock them down which I don't even count as fighting back since you know what they're going to do.
Henry Martinez
Fuck you I enjoy King Slav.
Gavin Smith
>the tracks sucked No u faggot >muh gimmicks is good level design
Joshua Lewis
>but compared to all of the other literal fucking trash that the AAA industry has been shitting out, It really IS fucking great What AAA trash? The past 2 years has been great for good games. DMC5 wasn't even better than fucking Nier or GoW.
Camden Sanchez
My point exactly, thanks.
Elijah Baker
stop shitposting retard, getting rid of that shit is indeed a good thing
Jonathan Russell
Awwww, thanks faggot. Now jog on back to DMD.
Wyatt Ortiz
>Soundtrack is excellent BANG BANG BANG sucks ass, though.
Anthony Lee
I say Dante looks like an ape and Vergil looks like a Meixcan.
Carter Reyes
Am I the only one who re-binded a lot of the controls? I've never played a DMC game and the controls felt wonky as hell to me, so I changed them up a bit. In terms of how fun the game is, I think it's great. I beat it once already and am on my second playthrough with all the powers. I'm thinking of getting the HD collection and 4 since I'm having such a good time.
WHEN THE NIGHT ENDS, IT'S NOT OVER WEAVE RIGHT THROUGH TO GET CLOSER LIKE A SILVER BULLET PIERCING THROUGH I THROW MYSELF INTO YOU youtu.be/QhcVZMArN9M?t=171
Taste the Blood is shit, though. Devils Never Cry is what you want. Unless that's what you meant. Kind of sore they picked Taste the Blood over Divine Hate.
Liam Sanders
>level design Fuck platforming in these games, either they fix it or they shouldn't bother at all. Though I do miss some of the filler puzzles in the game. If you mean that by level design, then I can agree there That M19 track did sound like V1 As in forgettable, V2 and V3 was good shit and it's a fucking shame that track wasn't as good as those or Super Ultra Violet. Hell it's odd when a suit of armor hosting trish has more jamming music that Vergil
William Fisher
No really, that doesn't happen. The final stretch where the characters change from the rest of the game is over in minutes. There's no growth, just canned revelations.
Explain what you mean.
Alexander Johnson
no it didn't, this is just Yea Forums being autistic as always
Noah Barnes
>The moment in M15 where you hear Devil Trigger blasting out of nowhere spooked me This really bugs me, i'm not on PC so i cant just fix it so. I really believe either its a bug or a design flaw.
Lucas Lewis
I rebound Nero quite a bit. Only switched V a little. Didn't change Dante at all.
James Young
They do fight back though, more than the other games in the series because of the armor that many of them have like the angelos, those big slug looking things, sin scissors, etc, makes you have to try to break through their shit while other demons are trying to take a shot at you too. They’re surprisingly aggressive
Jordan James
So tell the truth next time. >I hated the level design of the previous games, I'm glad they got rid of it Don't say they improved it, because hallways aren't an improvement over areas that make you think. You're just casual retards who don't enjoy gaming as a whole, you probably just want to fight enemies like a brainlet.
And the music is fucking ass.
Carter Morris
I rebinded them only for V. Put summons on triggers so it'll be easier to hold and I won't associate them with melee\shooting buttons of other characters but will treat them as their own things. Worked great for me.
Logan Sanchez
Ive followed devil may cry series since 2001 when i first played the demo on disc constantly. I love this game and it did most things right, but we live in different times now, it shouldve been less corny and actually as story driven as it was gameplay driven. I do love Vergil’s character in this one, compared to the third, it shows he too grew up when Dante confronts him and not just because he fused together with V again.
I like playing as V but he has too much time as a playable character in the main story and should be focused on in BP for those who rather want to play with him I hoped Dante’s sword would have more combos this time and feel as usable as a standalone as the other weapons (dont at me i know how to play with it) the hat only has one/two good attack(s) and thats when the orbs fly around you or the hat throwing Nero is so enjoyable especially after you get devil trigger but could still use 1 or 2 extra combos Dante was on point as a character which is to be expected I wish the game was harder, though i am enjoying it way more on DMD and Hell and hell, it should be the start difficulty Nico has cringe voice, Lady and Trish were absolutely butchered as characters, well, Lady was, but Trish was as unnecessary The level designs are what they should be for a game like this but they lack soul and atmosphere
overall i cba typing down more
Joshua Perez
>Unless that's what you meant it is.
Kevin Brown
Apparently it did well I heard that the lack of music during fights in the tree was intentional, but I think that devil trigger thing was a bug, stopped as soon as I got that blue orb
Wyatt Reed
DmCfags on suicide watch
Michael Miller
There was no way you'd get Devils Never Cry over it. It's the normal battle theme and every game got battle theme + a boss theme
Dominic Reed
I finished the game on DMD and have no idea what you're talking about. They literally don't fight back, only the enemies that teleport -kind of- attack you unless you're standing still for like 10 seconds.
Carter Rogers
There's not enough enemies. I'm spending too much time running around, and fights are over too fast.
Xavier Nelson
Chaos is probably the one that gets my goat the most, when it goes into wheel mode I'm really bad at dealing with them unless I want to cheese-parry with something like Cerberus' Ice Age. I can never time something like royal guard on them.
Caleb Sullivan
Not him but I only really felt agression on hard and above Shit like the Bapthomets used to do jackshit, but then they finally start doing shit outside of chucking ice shards. DMC5's normal feels too easy imo
Dylan Perez
Probably, there is no news
Hunter Russell
post controller remaps for post game nero
Kayden Robinson
>because hallways aren't an improvement over areas that make you think How fucking retarded are you that DMC made you have to think? Nothing about the previous games was challenging or puzzling or smart, it was all just filler backtracking and baby's first RE puzzles, which are already dumbass puzzles to begin with.
Carter Howard
I actually find the platforming in Diverging Point: Nero really fun bc it takes advantage of the large amount of air time you can get with shit like riding your arm, the air taunt and calibur
I just kept everything but swapped breakage and DT around since it wasn't right as it was
Lincoln Ortiz
switched lockon to trigger, how the fuck can you lock on with RB
Nathan Roberts
Maybe play them before spouting bullshit.
Charles Rivera
I think Capcom has been blowing their load a bit too hard with the RE engine's facial capture capabilities and spending too much money on showing it off instead of investing it elsewhere. It's pretty evident when a good chunk of the cutscenes in the game mostly involve Nero, Dante and V just talking to each other instead of it being non-stop action scenes like DMC3&4. I'm sure it wound up cutting into the environmental designers' budget as well.
Evan Ramirez
This is the first thing I did with all 3 characters
Levi Perry
>wasnt even better than the only 2 good games in the past few years
wowee
John Thompson
I hated the rocket riding cut scene in 3, nothing I've seen in 5 is as bad as that.
Tyler Flores
Are you Pat? Could you not figure out the hallway riddle? Do you have brain damage?
Matthew Miller
>I heard that the lack of music during fights in the tree was intentional Bah, thats a shame. overall though the game was really enjoyable. Every time i boot it up i learn more combos so its all good.
Jaxon Jones
I never understood how you're supposed to do the little gauntlet with Punchline. I just went where the secret mission was and cheesed my way up to the blue orb fragment with a high roller.
Gavin James
Every single mission after Red Grave boils down to >walk five feet through DOOM world into round room and be forced to fight enemies >repeat >repeat >cutscene / boss I miss puzzles and Gothic atmosphere.
Ryan Green
Those aren't the only 2 good games in the past few years though, they're just AAA action games.
Brandon Morris
I didn’t lie, the level design of previous games is not fun to explore or run around in for the sake of it. The puzzles and platforming shit aren’t good. They’re just not fun to do. And don’t pretend that 3 isn’t literal corridors either. It has a shittly hub but otherwise is as linear as shit >you’re not a real gamer you just want to kill shit Sounds video gamey enough to me. The soundtrack was good
Ayden Morgan
>you're just a casual if you don't believe the shit i'm saying
a special edition would make this game better. 10 mission dlc expansion with vergil & dante. fuck nero and everyone else just pick between those two at any time. turbo and inertia added. there you go best dmc game.
Jayden Ward
>Are you Pat? Who?
You are the one with brain damage, go suck a dick you don't even play these games.
>it shouldve been less corny and actually as story driven as it was gameplay driven It should have been more campy if anything > it shows he too grew up when Dante confronts him He didnt, the only reason he chills out is because nero slapped his shit so he decided to go along for the time being >feel as usable as a standalone as the other weapons it is, you can use nothing but DSD and fight every enemy >it has the orb storm, the meteor and hat trick. The default shoot also does pretty decent damage, its also a gun so those tend to stay within a handful of moves >Nero is so enjoyable especially after you get devil trigger but could still use 1 or 2 extra combos He has plenty of combos, he had enough in 4 and they added a handful of new moves in addition to breakers and the knuckle mechanic that acts like a second Exceed to time >The level designs are what they should be The first half of the game has pretty good level design but it falls apart at the end
Noah Gray
DMC5 - it's no masterpiece
Brayden Cox
>special edition >adding unique levels
Justin Perez
You obviously know what I mean and disagree with my terms. It was handled poorly, but it happens and it's new to the story, is what I was responding to originally.
Ayden Foster
L2 for pistol, L1 - lock-on. L2 - exceed, L1 - jump. Y - sword, B - devil breaker, X - burst, A - devil arm.
Leo Smith
But Devils Never Cry IS in. Divine Hate is the one they skipped over, and it is the normal battle theme for the second part of the same, same as Lock & Load in 1 and Shoot the Works in 2.
Gabriel Anderson
>a special edition would make this game better wew it's people begging for KH3 final mix all over again
Angel Gutierrez
That's why I hope it bombed. It's fucking dumb to support a company that thinks cinematic bullshit is more important than its series roots. Nico, V, even the girls shouldn't have even been in the game it should have just been a DMC with cool shit happening.
Eli Wilson
>thinks DMC puzzles are hard >nuh uh your dumb Great retort, retard.
Jaxson Myers
Fuck me, R2 - exceed, R1 - jump.
Joshua Brooks
They went with Taste the Blood, Devil's Never Cry and Vergil fight 2 for DMC3 songs.
Jayden Lewis
>I miss puzzles and Gothic atmosphere. Well, it's an interesting thing really. These are really enhance your initial playthough and help when you want to replay a game after months or even years. But when you want to replay it right away or just keep doing DMD runs to git gud those are extremely annoying and only interfere with the action. DMC5 sacrificed that first time expirience for more convenient replayability.
Sebastian Williams
>Do it once >Now have to do it again on every new playthrough but now you know exactly how to solve the puzzle >>>fun
Benjamin Martinez
DMC5 is great just not perfect >boss themes are weak >way too much fanservice >no turbo >didn't add a little swordman shadow in the logo after beating the game >can't play all the missions as any character after beating the game >0 good costumes even as dlc 9/10 for me, still the best dmc just because is the only one that doesn't feel a chore to replay in DMD, i like every enemy and all the 3 characters are fun to play plus there is so much love in the game like the pics that you get after killing new enemies in ng+, the details in the menu screens, the void
Julian Bennett
who gives a fuck about battle themes they don't play in 60% of the missions
Kevin James
>Nico, V, even the girls shouldn't have even been in the game it should have just been a DMC with cool shit happening. >implying there was never girls in DMC you should feel bad for making people using this word, but youre a fucking incel my dude
Easton Morris
You are lying. Now you're deflecting. I don't give a fuck if you thought it was fun or not, it was there and it's not in 5. 3's "corridors" were deliberately designed to all be unique areas, going as far as to name all of them. Backtracking existed because there were items you needed to progress such as objects to slow time down for various challenges. Those combo locks were fun too.
5 has nothing like that, it's just a boring hallway with generic areas.
The OST was fucking bad.
Yikes.
Jace Kelly
based
Cooper Wood
>how the fuck can you lock on with RB By holding the button? You also hold down LB(shoot should be mapped here) 99% of the time for charged shot as well as tapping RT and LT after every triangle for knuckle and MAX act I swapped DT and breakage to since I never self destructed them anyway
Tyler Morgan
Whatever breaks the repetition of the missions.
Nicholas Cox
Fair review OP. As a longtime fan I agree. Its good but it could have been a lot better given its dev time.
Ryder Cook
Since they already have Super and EX costumes in this game, they'll add a second costume for Bloody Palace?
Joseph Mitchell
>bros where's my backtracking?
Hudson Ortiz
> and disagree with my terms Because your terms didn't exist you nigger. Gary Stuing isn't a good thing.
Robert Thomas
Now you're just putting words in my mouth like a faggot.
>for more convenient replayability. That would only make sense if V wasn't in the game.
Michael James
No turbo is so fucking painful, with all of the great things added how the fuck did they overlook this
Where do all these people come from claiming that they liked the puzzles and platforming in dmc? I've been discussing this series nearly 20 years and fucking no one has been saying this shit before.
Wyatt Mitchell
I never get use to Vergil hitting me after I beat him as Dante.
Nicholas Nguyen
Incels idolize women. I'm saying the game shouldn't have focused on boring shit and instead should have been like 3 and 4 with the cutscene direction. A bunch of legendary warriors jobbing in a van is a shit deal for actual fans of DMC.
People that aren't underage and grew up with RE. The reason I liked DMC1-4 was because it was basically Catholic Resident Evil.
Christopher Rodriguez
>hating on based V You need 120+ IQ to play him, sorry.
Landon Gonzalez
Where did I say 5 shouldn't have improved level design? Instead they just got rid of it, and dumb niggers like you are pretending that's an improvement. Stop shitting up the thread.
Nolan Brooks
no one likes those shit because they've always been shit in DMC, people are just shilling because the game did well
Asher Rodriguez
I always thought they were fine but never particularly liked or disliked them. I did like the platforming secret mission/room in 3 with the cubes though
Cooper Rivera
It was on PC.
Brainlet poster right here.
Austin Ramirez
Though its one of the weaker ones, you clearly havent even reached playable V if you mean that.
Sebastian Hill
>the platforming secret mission/room in 3 with the cubes
I’m not lying or deflecting. I’m just disagreeing with you >I don’t give a fuck if you thought it was fun or not Likewise, because the platforming and backtracking has been out where it belongs. 3s area were named sure, but it’s not like it had much significance. >Backtracking existed because there were items you needed to progress such as objects to slow time down for various challenges. That’s some nice novelty, but not necessary 5 trimmed the fat. The ost was good
Gavin Collins
No one is claiming that, get some reading comprehension.
Angel Gray
pretty sure incels idolize pussy, not women like you might not be an incel but you sure sounded like one, the game needed more dante and they should fuck off with making nero the main protagonist, but i dont really think women ruined anything in this game if anything, nico grew on me
Blake Wood
Turbo was in the base pc release of DMC4. Even then, that isn't really a valid excuse for DMC5 not to have it
Dylan Cooper
Yes they are
Liam Morgan
Don't need a masterpiece, just need something satisfactory after 11 years of nothing. Now hopefully they realise the flaws of 5 and rectify it when they come back to this series you don’t know what you’ve got until it's gone.
Jose Clark
>tfw I actually enjoyed it and learned some cool tricks about Vergil's movement
We still don't have official numbers on sales. DmC could still beat it.
Jonathan Perez
dude kys, who the fuck cares about that shit in DMC, no one ever liked those parts, go play DmC
Jace Garcia
PC 4 came out half a year later after consoles I agree it should be standard at this point though
Blake Sanchez
WHY CAN'T I USE ANYONE IN ANY MISSION?
STOP INVENTING FUCKING CRAZY INDEPTH MOVESETS WITH A TINY HANDFUL OF ROOMS AS THEIR PLAYABLE SECTION FUCK
Landon Brown
i want that brown bird too man
Alexander Cox
No, they just needed to give V more stuff, on a first playthrough he's fine, but then Dante and Nero BTFO im with options as you replay, gets annoying when you realise he's too much of a proof of concept
Landon Anderson
Not in a million years buddy.
Ayden Kelly
read again retard
Ryder Peterson
We have, game has the second weakest start in DMC history. Catering to western audience with ugly girls and "realistic" style was a mistake.
Alexander Taylor
My terms don't exist? Look up what a Gary Stu is you ass. It sure as hell isn't Nero, unless you think every shonen protagonist who powers up in a new form at the climax of the story is a Gary Stu.
Kayden Miller
The levels design were built with their respective characters in mind in several cases. Nero snatch, secrets with nightmare DT, etc.
Samuel Morgan
This. 1 and 2 have the best OSTs, but 5 is a solid third place. 4's got the worst OST.
Jordan Reed
>It should have been more campy if anything
What?
>He didnt, the only reason he chills out is because nero slapped his shit so he decided to go along for the time being
No, i am talking about when he meets Dante before the Nero fight, he smiles along with Dante when he mentions his only memory of him is fighting and in the credit scene they fight and end up fighting together, it is clear that Vergil still has his same character but with time and age, grew less serious and more like he would be if it werent for the circumstances, notice when Dante says >Score for Dante! I'm up one. Vergil is playing with Dante and actually manages to be less of an autist and banter with him, telling him they are even and he didnt learn to count
>it is, you can use nothing but DSD and fight every enemy Confirmed pleb, use Reb or Sparda sword
>He has plenty of combos, he had enough in 4 and they added a handful of new moves in addition to breakers and the knuckle mechanic that acts like a second Exceed to time
'no'
>The first half of the game has pretty good level design but it falls apart at the end
>The levels design were built with their respective characters in mind in several cases. This only applies to Nero. They can easily fix that by letting V and Dante teleport between grips and pre-destroy Nightmare walls
Ryder Jenkins
You are lying unless you're not the original poster. >>Best in the series honestly This is what you said when the level design is objectively the worst in the series because it doesn't exist. A hallway is not design, it's just a cop out. It's lazy. 99% of DMC5 is a hallway. Every argument you've brought up has been an attempt to deflect away from this. You're still doing it now.
>make a shit ton of rooms >all of them look different >all of them have names >enemies are built specifically for the rooms they're in >some rooms have unique items that help you reach new rooms This is level design up to a high standard, sure it might get annoying or you might not like it but it's well designed none the less. DMC5 didn't even try to design its levels. They're just boring hallways often with long stretches of nothing.
The OST is fucking terrible, you really do like drilling in your faggotry don't you?
You're the incel and you have garbage taste if you prefer Nico's autism to dozens of cool cutscenes showing Sparda bloodline antics. That's literally what they traded by designing her.
You're probably talking about me and I haven't said that.
Cooper Adams
>buy deluxe edition >can't use vergil 2 on mission 19
Is it possible for modders to fix the grim grips and walls issues? I'll straight up buy the pc version now if I can successfully use anyone in any mission.
Nathaniel Watson
I'm replaying the game on Hard right now. For me personally nothing in the cutscenes made me cringe. Sure, the story is stupid, but why should I care about the story in DMC?
This action game needs more action.
William Wright
>Confirmed pleb, use Reb or Sparda sword
Confirmed brainlet, use irregular custom
Even then, DSD SM has some cool synergy with trickster
Jonathan Taylor
It sucks I can't believe Itsuno did this again. Some levels works through hacking but some don't.
also, seems like Lady and Trish will be playable in a later dlc? Story continues
Levi Phillips
Everyone does. It's the only memorable song.
Ayden Long
Does he automatically throw Goliath through the building? I got a massive fucking boner when I accidentally did that
Andrew White
>bought deluxe edition >expected the option for Lady as style announcer >the option is piece of shit and the only thing I hear is stupid Nico shouting SEXY SEXY SEXY >can't even disable fucking announcer
I'm going through the game a 2nd time right now and I had to throw in the towel for the day after finishing V's first mission and realizing I could be doing something better with my time instead of mashing buttons like an autist for an hour straight
How the fuck is Nero a Gary Stu? He literally spends the whole game jobbing and being butthurt about how hard he's jobbing.
Mason Johnson
I wonder how you'd work with the grim grip stuff in nero's levels Seemed like there was a lack of 3 tracks, even that model viewer thing some user did showed a bunch of tracks, but not much from 3. Meanwhile 1 got love
Hudson Taylor
Shit like this makes me think the game really needed Bloody Palace at launch. It feels barebones but has a meaty combat system that encourages replaying, with all this fancy stuff like Nero's buster slams and V's executions.
How the fuck is somebody playing for the first time supposed to realize how to buster arm Goliath and get one of the best fucking moments in the game?
Mason Nguyen
I've seen more than a few people call it the worst battle theme in the series, but it's one of my favorites.
Asher Walker
nope i just threw him across the stage he didnt crash into the building when I did it
definitely trying that next time though thanks for the heads up
Nicholas Bailey
And then he becomes powerful for no sensible or logical reason after talking to his disembodied gf for 20 seconds. Then he spews ideallistic bullshit that's uncharacteristic while telling Dante -he's- dead weight. Cringiest revelation I've ever seen in a video game.
Isaac Long
Disappointing, I'm sure you can come up with a better response.
There's nothing else that can be said if you didn't cringe whenever Nico opened her mouth or when Trish said "I'm not your mommy" or when V said fucking anything.
You are cringe yourself.
Jace Cooper
they won't bc you can't buster him first playthrough lol
Xavier Murphy
I’m not the original poster >You're probably talking about me and I haven't said that. SeeThe ost is good and you can cry all you want but I’m not going to stop saying it >Sparda’s bloodline antics We get plenty of this shit at the end and it’s pretty autistic if Vergil is involved, which he is in these bloodline antics
Samuel Rogers
>uncharacteristic Have you played DMC4?
Alexander Campbell
Nero's Devil Trigger design sucks. Can't believe they approved something that shitty looking.
Caleb White
Im drunk fuck off i quoted right, it just didnt add the quoted reply dont at me you are hella dum my man
Christian Robinson
DEADWEIGHT Playable online better be a thing
Julian Gutierrez
>We get plenty of this shit You get a couple of minutes of it throughout the entire game.
Ryan Watson
eh, wish i was drunk too
William Morales
It's basically Itsuno flat out saying "I love Devilman"
Landon Baker
ha! you really got me there user!!!1
Cameron Bennett
He never acts like that in 4.
Easton Powell
Just needed a hood and coat like dante and vergil's one, I like it but it's too naked
Jason Price
As air is to birds, and water is to fish, so is contempt for the contemptible
I don't mind it. He's only 1/4 devil, so it has to look different from Dante and Vergil. The wing bringers are really cool.
Juan Lewis
DT (and most other power ups in anime) are tied to emotions. He was emotional for a pretty clear reason. I really like his dumb ghost wing arms. I'm sure Kyrie does too.
Matthew Adams
eksXDee fuck off
Asher Hill
>implying you kicked Vergil’s ass that quickly Nero is also part of the Sparda bloodline, V too, so shouldn’t they be considered part of those too? Nico is genuinely endearing
Kevin Green
I didn't say his progression was good or well written. I said he wasn't a Gary Stu.
Hunter Robinson
Why are you asking that?
Owen Ward
>No alternate costumes If RE2 could do alternate costumes they should have done it for this game too. Absolutely no excuse.
David Morris
>I'm sure Kyrie does too WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN
Leo Price
Anyone got a trainer that has character switch and turbo on the go? Also, any news on bloody palace or upcoming DLC?
Christopher Mitchell
I obviously wasn't talking about gameplay. >Nico is genuinely endearing Seriously hope people like you die.
Jeremiah Reed
bot arm in pyus
Sebastian Thomas
BP on april 1st. No confirmation if Vergil or co-op will be added along with it
Eli Bailey
40 bucks, gaijin
Levi Peterson
>no sparda costume Time to wait for mods I guess
Jace Phillips
RE2make also had good level design. These are different teams with different budgets and priorities. You can't compare two developments happening at the same time.
Hunter Richardson
>Nico says Nero has a big surprise >he's gone from 5 fingers to 20 She's a lucky lady.
Because I want to understand what made you dislike her so much.
I think the story is stupid, but I don't it's a big deal. I don't play DMC for the story, and it's surprising to me that the characters and the story in DMC can be a deal breaker to someone.
Anthony Ward
You’re already dead on the inside of you don’t find her cute and fun. inb4 new good
I'd love BP co-op, just a shame none of my friends play dmc 5 and my brother is a broke hobo who cant afford the game. Vergil has been confirmed but not the date, hope he will have bunch of new abilities that can make a combo flow even better. Didnt someone state bloody palace will be different in this game?
Juan Diaz
3 definitely had it with enemy DT, can be pretty frustrating in some areas
Ryder Bailey
I liked the fuck you moment in dmc, and it's much better in 5.
Nathan Phillips
It was a problem in 1 and 3, I assure you. >My brother is a broke hobo Are you Vergil or Dante
Aiden Smith
OP is the kind of scumbag who picks up the latest entry in a video game series and thinks he's an expert.
It's a huge problem in 3. In 1, it's not because the only enemies to get a health buff are bosses (which is good because they have very low health on Normal and Hard,) Marionettes, Bloody Maris, and Fetishes, and that's ONLY if you let them DT, which is on a fixed timer. In 3, enemies DT not only on a timer, but also based on how many other enemies you're killing, and all of their health pools skyrocket.
Connor Watson
Hey guys, welcome to DMC.
Aaron Jenkins
Que te hodan was always hilarious
Samuel Morgan
most people without turbo (mode) autism kek'd at the absurdity of it, along with most of the humor in the game
youtu.be/CsUMcUGr2no Starting at 2:08:40 This guy does S-rank DMD walkthroughs so he's somewhat knowledgeable about the series but holy hell this is what Yea Forums and DMC5 haters would sound like if they were concentrated into one autistic person (pissy and contraian) >DMC5 has worse bosses than 2 Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit
Evan Ward
Sure, if you're 12 and think swearing is high comedy.
As opposed to what? Being 12 and thinking swearing is a big no-no?
Lincoln Hall
I dare you, I double dare you : show me a better fuck you than Nero's in DMC5.
Luke Bell
It was funny because it was shit. I am laughing at it
Matthew Allen
>he can't appreciate cringe kino I bet you didn't even like Vergin's trilby.
Easton Richardson
But can we give Dante / Vergil NERO'S hair?
Dylan Russell
I'm the younger one but i always enjoy teasing and slapping him around, put some words in his head, i almost always lose in the beginning in every game but learn quick and win after constantly. He watched over me as i played the old dmc 1 in 2002 so he is the only one i can play with and enjoy it since he followed through. So i am Dante?
John Bailey
Saw this with Vergil at some point, previous thread I think. Anybody got this?
Michael Scott
>maybe more Are...are the ghost knuckles coming from his two ghost hands or can he just make infinite ghost hands?
Isaiah Lewis
Yes. Stay cuhrayzee
Ayden Baker
>manchild makes another thread about how they lost their game to a better protagonist How can dantefags recover?
Jose Sanchez
They're pretty nice. Your stylle reminds me of 90s anime .
Wyatt Morris
I'm 30. The puzzle shit is fine in RE because combat isn't the draw of RE. I see. I hated that shit. Yes they are, I've been in plenty of these threads. I don't miss it. I'm going to replay the whole franchise and I'm dreading that shit again.
Colton Rogers
>he says while he browses a board where posting a picture of a frog in a suit saying "nigger" is the pinnacle of comedy
Charles James
>It's not DMC1 in terms of iconic music but it's pretty good. >Devil Trigger >Crimson Cloud >Silver Bullet >Voltaic Black Knight >Psycho Siren Remix >Nightmare Remix >Flock off Featherface Remix >Garage >Devil Shocker All of these are fire. The only track from DMC1 that made it onto my player was Ultraviolence. And for DMC2, it was Jokatgulm.
The rest of the dmc also have action and i never felt as if it was not enough. And are not plagued with as much cringe in the cutscenes.
Leo Parker
>well actually you’re wrong Ok
Joshua Moore
I've been watching this guy for years, and I still find his shifts in mood to be weird. That especially comes out when he does blind playthroughs, and even more during streams. I generally like his takes on games, though, but they're mostly stuck on his walkthrough videos, and that type of content has become somewhat obsolete in this day and age. He should do more condensed videos like reviews instead.
Charles Barnes
You still didn't answer the question. Are you sure you don't hate her just because someone told you to?
Jose Reyes
She's visually disgusting, her voice is horrible, she smokes, and her dialogue is meant to make sane people hate her.
Xavier White
Urizen dramatic piano theme before you fight him stuck with me I also really like Geryon theme, youtube.com/watch?v=VzlzDS_3sJs
Jaxson Garcia
>DMC5 >Person constantly shit on wants validation, wants his existence acknowledged
>DmC >lol fuck you fuck you fuck you look how cool I am
>How the fuck is somebody playing for the first time supposed to realize how to buster arm Goliath and get one of the best fucking moments in the game? You aren't, the game's made to be played through multiple times on different difficulties and figuring that sort of stuff out in subsequent playthroughs is half the fun.
Nicholas Jones
this guys vids were pretty helpful for me when it came to figuring out DMC3 at a more advanced level but yea his voice is hard to get through lmfao
Brayden Phillips
It was from the party last year, there was an user who attended and he posted clips
Bentley Myers
She’s cute, the rest of the cast doesn’t like her smoking, people love her personality
Benjamin Bennett
seeMost importantly I'm not an idiot so I can clearly see what they traded for her(and the other jobbing characters). And I don't like that at all.
Adrian Martin
That shit is crazy though. Nero: Feel acknowledging yet? Vergil : Of what? Your existence or your strength? Nero : Both you fucking asshole!
I mean, jeez. I'm glad Vergil is still a dick, but what a dick.
Jaxon Foster
I like her 2nd outfit a lot more. It's unlocked when you finish the game once.
>her dialogue is meant to make sane people hate her. Now that's comedy gold.
Jack Barnes
>decide to finally give RG a try >tfw Holy shit this is chad as fuck and it actually work
You're fucked in the head if you think she's cute or has a good personality. I bet you're either shitposting or you're a braindead hambeast who can relate to her.
You're a fucking faggot. Look at you talking about what you like about a fucking ugly bitch instead of how you miss when DMC wasn't shit.
>stop having fun No. I’m not the only who likes her, a lot of people like her. The majority does. Sorry user but that’s how it is.
Oliver Wood
Just don't get cocky and think you can do it in 4. It's good in 3 and especially 5, but in 4 the timing is too tight unless you go full autism.
Easton Morgan
Keep telling yourself that.
Noah Wright
>jobbing Go back to DBS threads on Yea Forums
Austin Bennett
Relax, kid, it's just a game. No need to get so worked up.
Jacob Edwards
Nero would def lose his shit. He seems like the kind of guy who trusts Kyrie 100% but would still annihilate any dude who tries to put the moves in her. Nico gets a pass because they're like siblings.
Josiah Ross
I heard about extending the block timing with a roll in DMC3 (aka using RG during a roll), does it work in 5?
Jacob Cook
I don’t have to because it’s plain as day. People like Nico
Noah Howard
That's pretty much what i also think of the game, could have been better.
Justin Watson
I don't know. Probably. Jumping works, and it's the same principle. Have your i-frames cover you so that if you're a little too late, you can still guard it perfectly.
Austin Carter
At least Nero was consistently always a rude little shit.
Dylan Bell
Nice, thanks >YOU CANNOT KILL ME
Joseph Perry
I'm currently playing mission 10 and the game keeps pausing for no reason? Anyone know what's up with that?
Jace Adams
Not him, but you can't cancel out of a roll with a block like you could in DMC3. Your best bet is to jump to extend i-frames, wherein a block can be executed at any point during that animation.
Brayden Morales
Should I try and get all upgrades/S ranks in the Demon Hunter mode or should I jump straight to the difficulty I have unlocked?
What do you call it? Being useless? A waste of time and money?
Andrew Smith
Just proceed with the following difficulty. It's like trying to go for Pure Platinum on Normal in bayo when you just unlocked Hard. Shit makes no sense.
>DmC >not playing a bunch of spanish and mexican songs I'll take silver bullet over empty Now why can't you beat Vergil 3 in terms of being the best final boss in the series in terms of anything? Like no other song or encounter can
Jose Smith
Agreed, the game's combat flaws are becoming more and more apparent.
>By far the absolute worst audio cues in the entire series, almost laughable how bad the audio cues are in this game. And this is the series that pioneered the genre, audio cues have been an important staple since the first game. >Enemies attack you from off screen ALL.THE.FUCKING.TIME. This was never, ever the case in the previous titles, and in the rare event it happened it was supplemented by the audio cues >Overall the best enemy roster since DMC1, but acute cases of cancer like Judecca and Furys stand out like a sore thumb. If you're idea of a well designed enemy is constant teleportation or inexcusable invulnerability kindly go play in traffic. However the roster is dragged down in a sense because of poor audio cues, some attack animations hit earlier than they appear to, and constant cheap shotting from off screen. >Far too many moves now lock you into animations you cannot cancel out of, a far cry from the advances made in 3/4 where you can Roll/Jump cancel of out god damn near everything in the game >The visual cues for enemy attacks are also very lacking in some respects
Grayson Sullivan
It's misused with shounen shit threads Literally every loss is jobbing now
Levi Baker
2->4->5
Brody Wright
not that user but baphomet is an enemy from 2 and there is the map of dumary island in dantes office Thats all Ive noticed so far
Adrian Bennett
Nico is probably bi. In the book she considers Kyrie the most beautiful woman she's ever seen, and she makes a point of trying to deny checking out Lady which makes it very clear she was checking out Lady. But she also drops her pasta breakers when meeting Dante, and seems to get flustered at the thought of Nero flirting with her when he obviously wasn't. So she may also just be awkward as hell.
Dante mentions Dumary island in the mission before the Vergil fight, saying something like "This feels like Dumary island again" Also,a pic of Lucia and her life on the America chart appears in the DMC office Anyway if this doesn't convince you, the canon prequel novel confirms it
Charles Flores
what's been frustrating to me has been the lack to be able to buffer any charges that aren't the guns or are by design like the lightning from cerberus.
Jack Ramirez
>Roll/Jump cancel of out god damn near everything in the game I don't think this is a good thing
Brody Gray
*her knife
Jonathan Scott
I haven't had issues with enemies attacking off camera all that much, but I do agree the audio cues are shit, so it's a pain when it does happen. Absolutely agree one Judeccas and Furies. They're garbage. The uncancelable moves don't bother me so much. Just need to learn which ones are and which ones aren't. Haven't noticed any problem with visual cues.
Anthony Perez
Enemies dont attack you from offscreen though(not counting bosses) They can start an attack if they are on you screen for a second or two and will continue it if you take it off them Shit the best way to play V is to abuse this by pointing the camera into a corner while reading poetry and setting demons on auto pilot Youll occasionally have to move corners when something gets into camera view but thats it
Bentley White
K I N O I N O
Connor Bailey
he says mallet island because hes having to fight the DMC1 demons again multiple times
Adam Anderson
>seems to get flustered at the thought of Nero flirting with her when he obviously wasn't. Autism. She was deflecting Nero's criticism because she freaking out about losing control of the van.
Wyatt Sanchez
He says Mallet.
Nolan Smith
>Dante mentions Dumary island in the mission before the Vergil fight, saying something like "This feels like Dumary island again" He does not. He mentions that it's like being on Mallet Island because he's fighting all the DMC1 demons again.
>Also,a pic of Lucia and her life on the America chart appears in the DMC office There is no picture of Lucia, and the knife in question looks nothing like her throwing daggers. It is just a normal knife, and it isn't stabbed in the correct location. Odds are, Dante just ran out of thumbtacks.
Jackson King
You better thank him for posting it
Jayden Mitchell
This guy's complaints are pretty good though, he's nothing like Yea Forums.
Anthony Sullivan
Probably performance.
True, DMC4 PC release came later than consoles though iirc.
Jeremiah Edwards
There's more visual cues than before. I still hear the attacks coming, maybe you don't have a good sound setup? I prefer out of camera attacks, especially when it's now a free camera (the FOV being garbage is a bigger issue) Too much cancels can make the game start to look ridiculous
Luis Brown
I find flying enemies annoying to fight without Nero's grapple arm. Any enemy that ignores hit stun completely is fucking trash. Fury's are dumb but at least they aren't the Nobody who should take hit stun.
Nicholas Mitchell
Anyone have a webm or pic of Nero cracking his ghost knuckles before the Vergil fight? It looks so weird.
Easton Rodriguez
>seems to get flustered at the thought of Nero flirting with her when he obviously wasn't I think she was just worked up because she nearly crashed into him.
Anthony Collins
PS4's fucking explode already, imagine turbo I'd swap 2 and 5 around 2 really had good ost
Jack Taylor
I'll agree there's not enough Dante. Itsuno can fuck off with Nero already. Aside that and level designs I love everything about this game and with Vergil back the future of DMC is looking pretty bright
Jacob Hall
Just use trickster to instantly go into their flying faces.
Nathan Richardson
Furies and nobodies get stunned if you dont go bunga on them Wait for the nobody to switch masks and parry the furies during their teleport shenanigans
Camden Martin
Real talk I still don't get why Dante didn't wish Patty a happy birthday I feel like Itsuno actually did drop the ball by making him too carefree/too much of a goof. Most likely this is what Itsuno meant by not being comfortable with him since Dante is Kamiya's character
Grayson Wright
>Mission 10 >SoS Mode >barely get hit >manage to get at least S's in every combat scenario >A Rank
Alright. No reason to S Rank this game anyway as there are no rewards for doing it other than some shitty trophies.
Ian Hall
Dante is actually more serious than he was in 4. tbf, in the anime he was quite dismissive of Patty too. Most of the time.
Xavier Gomez
>Real talk I still don't get why Dante didn't wish Patty a happy birthday Was going to surprise her with a dick in a pizzabox before he got coma'd
Colton Bailey
Based boomer too busy for kids and their happiness
Jack Clark
Only battle theme I really dislike is King Cerberus, other battle themes such as Vergil 2 just pass through my head unnoticed. Main menus got some sweet tunes and some missions have great ambient/fitting music for their levels. I thought the city was mostly fine, it's the moment you go into the tree where everything starts looking bland, boring and repetitive.
>same boss too many times Agree with you here, I hate every single Urizen fight in the game and how you must fight him like 4 fucking times. >story I thought it was serviceable, they just played it incredibly safe by appealing to Vergilfags with Vergil everywhere system. I liked it better when we daydreamed about V being Mundus with limited powers and Urizen taking over hell and human realms. Now we wait 10 more years for DMC6.
Dante is kind of a dick in this game, probably more to do that the game wants to be more "relevant" so that's also why they added all the cursing.
Luis Richardson
I think thats what they implied
Lucas Sullivan
All you have to do is start a few fights with royalguarding to S rank I did it on DMD yesterday and it took a handful of tries mostly because theres the fight against a single teleporting asshole lizard that drops your style ranking and the mass angelo fight at the end can be hard to keep style up on also
Convince me Urizen isn't one of the worst bosses in the series.
Evan Cruz
He was worse in 3
Liam Hernandez
He's a dick to Nero because he doesn't want him to kill his father and he doesn't want his father to kill him. All Urizen fights are shitty, but Arkham and Jester might be worse.
Ayden James
I wanna play DMC after all these threads, which one should I start with? I heard first 2 are a bit outdated with fixed camera and live system
Ayden Cook
Noted, but its disappointing - he could have tried being nicer or showing that human side that he talks about so much.
Best ship desu I mean Eva was underage since Sparda was thousands of years old
Julian Walker
Holy fuck dude I beat the game 3 times now and I HAVE NEVER NOTICED THIS TRACK
thank (You)
No seriously I get in the zone when I play this shit it's so fucking good. Hold on this shit is getting me hype. Lemme (You) the OP with objective truth someone gimme a style gauge.
Hudson Bailey
DMC2. Succubus in DmC Leviathan's core
Dylan Jenkins
I was hoping King Cerberus theme would be more akin to DMC 3 but they just sampled it at the start...shit sucks
Charles Nguyen
While 1 might feel outdated to you, 2 is simply bad and you should skip it.
Liam Foster
Is there a trick to Judecca, holy fuck I hate these dumbass fucking enemies. At least Fury has a guaranteed damage loop.
Blake Perry
I don't get Itsuno with the whole "Dante isn't my character" when he ceased to be Kamiya's long ago. There's a huge difference between DMC1 Dante and 3/4/5. By this point he could just as well say Dante is his, just as much as Vergil.
That said I sure do hope he'll stop with all the Nero cock sucking now that we have both Dante and Vergil back and the entire "sons of sparda thing" closed off. By saying that I'll reckon he just meant next games can actually move freely and past "Vergil is being autistic again" thing, as we already had it for THREE FUCKING GAMES.
Jordan Hall
The final Urizen fight is actually pretty fun. Also fucking up Mission 12 Urizen is pretty satisfying. There was no reason to have us fight him in mission 10 though.
Anthony Sanchez
I'm not the biggest Nero fan but he grew on me in this game. Not nearly as whiny.
Landon Campbell
Start with 1 and play 3 then 4 then 5
Jacob Phillips
I've seen a few people say it doesn't have enough Dante, but I feel like it has plenty, I like playing Dante most and I was happy with the amount you got to play as him. Nero has more missions, but I feel like Dante has longer missions, where Nero has missions like his first one that don't last very long at all. I walked away from the game feeling like I played Dante the most.
I generally disagree on your other points as well, but I will say that I think it would have been nice if Redgrave had a more gothic look to it. It doesn't need to have castles and shit, but just having the buildings have more gothic architecture would have felt more in keeping with the series, I think.
David Flores
based
Easton Collins
Kamiya had directed the writers of 3 how to portray Dante in 3. Also, Viewtiful Joe Dante was basically Devil May Cry 4 Dante before Devil May Cry 4 was even in development.
Jacob Green
Oh, same. I like him too, just not as much as Dante, gameplay and personality wise.
Jacob Torres
1 teaches you the fundamentals and it's still fun as fuck.
Jayden Diaz
Just pirate 5(console version is shit don't bother) and admit you're a zoomer. "long time" fans have been shitting on the older games anyway, almost no one in these threads has any class anymore.
Austin Hall
>Nero cocksucking >jobs to Urizen the entire game >DEAD WEIGHT autism >gets back handed by both Vergil and Dante before being left outside of hell like a little kid, and immediately shrug off Nero's damage I just don't see it, though this does feel like his and Vergil's story as opposed to Dante's. That said, Dante pretty much demolished the opposition the second he got out of his coma.
I like this whenever I'm playing the game but when I listen to it on its own it doesn't even sound like the same song.
Eli Carter
>i want to shit talk DMC5 but i dont want my falseflag to be too obvious
Ryan Morris
I can't. He's projectile spam: the boss and it's so fucking annoying.
Dylan Cruz
>Fighting Judecca >Can't hear any of the shitty audio cues the games has because of the dogshit Style announcer they said we could turn off >Constantly teleports away at the first sigh of damage >Can and will use its scythe lunges from off screen, and you can't hear it because of all the audio stimuli this game runs on >Style meter tanks
Fuck these god damn enemies, holy fucking shit I'll take Soul Suckers over these fucking faggots.
James Torres
>Not nearly as whiny. I can't see how he isn't, he screeches just as much the only difference is that he swears way more now. How is not telling your dad he's a fucking asshole being whiny?
Andrew Wood
Fury feels like an actual dangerous enemy that puts me at the edge of my seat. All of his attacks can be countered and he's quite aggressive. It feels like there's something to be learned there. Judecca on the other hand is annoying to fight, because it teleports away and attacks from range, so you constantly have chase them around and bring the fight to them. I'm still learning the patterns and which weapons are best for which situation, though, so my views might change. I disagree with your implication that flaws are becoming more apparent as if anyone has fully mastered the game. DMC5 is barely a week old.
I haven't had any issues with enemies attacking from off-screen as far as I recall. If that happens it might be because they've already started the attack when the camera was pointing to them. And considering DMC5's camera is way more controllable and dynamic than past games, the game might be more prone to those sorts of accidents.
You can still cancel out of the vast majority of attacks by jumping. I don't know what specific animations you're thinking of.
Christopher Rogers
>buying games from companies that shit on its fanbases ?
Wish they used an artstyle more like this over this hyperrealistic shit
Caleb Gonzalez
>Fury All you have to do it parry him and he stands around like a retard
Christopher Allen
>playing games from companies you believe shit on their fanbases ?
Luis Collins
OP has some legit arguments, nothing wrong with a bit of shittalking as long as it's earnest and out o care
Jonathan Russell
Furys are awful enemies. 1v1 they are essentially harmless because of the KC+Balrog loop and in a group they are absolute cancer. Especially on DMD.
>"Wow I did all this shit from off screen here's that teleport attack you didn't see the start up for, there goes 75% of you HP : )"
Julian Smith
>pirate game because it's looking shady >turns out it was

You know, I see people complaining a lot about Nero, but I do like how they revamped his personality making him something above a 1 dollar store Dante. He's more down to earth and I like how this contrasts with his autistic dad and crazy uncle.
I say keep these three together and every adventure will be a blast
Aaron Miller
>I want to falseflag and make DMC5fans look like fanboys incapable of accepting criticism so I'm gonna accuse a reasonable post of falseflagging
Nero is an awful character, he's worse now that he looks and adds like an unrestrained 15 year old punk. At least in 4 he held himself back and only swore at key moments, he's just a sperg now.
Xavier Ross
At this point I'm convinced that people who complain about off screen attacks are just bad at the game.
That's one of the criticisms people throw at bayo, yet I finished it on non-stop climax and never had any problems with it. Can't imagine how it can be a problem in dmc5.
Angel Adams
dmc5 is just too easy. i havent even been close to dying yet. i usually take like 3 points of damage with 15 total per mission. i even played at the hardest difficulty available for me. its at a point that its so easy thati find absolutely no enjoyment in playing the game. and then the game gave me 100k red orbs at the start which i didnt even spend. so the game should have been even easier.
and i'm not trying to say i'm good. i never play these games and i bet literally anyone could beat this shit without sweat
I like him in 5, he was a complete dud of a character in 4.
Eli Fisher
Bayo has adequate sound cues. That said, I haven't even noticed enemies attacking from off camera in 5 unless you're trying to cheese them specifically by turning the camera away when they're already into an attack script.
Owen Mitchell
Normal is indeed too easy, it's basically a tutorial. Try Hard and Very Hard.
Noah Parker
>Rushing through SoS can't wait to play as Dante again. >Quality in the game immediately drops, constantly paired against the absolute worst fucking enemies. I think I'm just gunna stop here.
Bayonetta doesn't have a problem with off screen attacks because Bayonetta actually has audio cues.
Lincoln Lee
They're glass cannons, though. Attacks that have high mobility and/or do multiple hits in a short amount of time have a decent chance of parrying them and stunning them for a while, even if just by dumb luck. I still haven't found a truly reliable, foolproof way of fighting them in groups the same way I learned to fight Blitz in DMC4 though, mainly because they're rare, and because the Void doesn't let you practice on multiple enemies at once. (I'd really like to see a mod expand on the Void to include bosses too.)
Connor Perez
DH is too easy. SoS missions 1-7 are easy. The rest of SoS is adequate. DMD is hard.
DMC5's difficulty levels are just fine.
Oliver James
You're playing on Normal. If it's too easy finish Normal to play Hard, or beat Urizen in the prologue to get to the next difficulty.
Camden Wilson
>Try Hard and Very Hard. i cant. i can only play easy and normal
Luke Evans
DMC5's camera is pretty bad. I didn't have any trouble with off-screen attacks or anything but I can see people dying because of the camera being retarded. Those weird projectiles that Urizen shoots for instance, sometimes you can barely see them because of the shitty camera.
Or sometimes it starts flipping out when you're in a building like when you first fight scissors.
Adrian Moore
Finish Normal then.
Matthew Jones
I am very surprised no one has mentioned how FUCKING BANGING Goliath's theme is
They should've at least give us the choice of a hard mode on the get go. Newcomers would never go for it on their first play anyway.
Actually, it's fucking stupid they didn't do it
Jordan Moore
>DMD is hard. not really no
Lucas Sullivan
>bland environments this is true.
Chase Young
but its so fucking boring. its basically a corridor simulator
Robert Foster
>>not enough Dante subjective: you can have that opinion but its just that an opinion objective: 8 of the 20 missions are playable Dante almost half the game. >>forgettable music subjective: musical taste like favor for and against things are dependent on things like mood customs and upbringing you can forget it thus it's forgettable objective: the game features a dynamic soundtrack that plays according to the style the player gets so maybe if you forgot it it was because you never saw an S let alone 3 of them Oh also Yea Forums sings - Devil Trigger 781,567 views these are just numbers but w/e >>bland environments subjective: you didn't like the environments arugable enough objective: "bland" demon tree, demon infested gothic town, city metro station and sliding theater into a crevasse, ancient ruins, crumbling mansion, lil house on the prairie with shattering reality. not exactly old hat but im sure they've been done >>shitty level design Based on what metric? Can't break it down with such little detail in a gripe. >>retread story Care to share another story of a demon splitting with humanity? >>same boss too many times of all the bosses these are the only repeats. Urizen throne, Virgil, Artemis, Goliath, Cavelier Angelo. In all but the Urizen throne you fight them with a new character that couldn't previously face them.
DMC5 is evergreen, an experience to enjoy one way now the first time, at another level 5 weeks from now, and again in another way 5 years from now. The full experience it provides is what makes it so enjoyable. The streamlined level design around colorful environments and bosses fought again with prior knowledge using different characters are part of it.
I know you can't understand or even begin to comprehend someone with a different mindset from your own but that's exactly what's going on here. You are touting your opinion as fact but our style is impetuous. This is to be expected of nu/v/ though so continue shitposting and carry on.
shit tier arguments from a brainlet trying to be a shill
Jaxon Gonzalez
Based
Jose Gutierrez
t. uses revives
Play it legit, faggot.
Luke Lee
I'm starting to see why everyone bitches about Hell judeccas. They're everywhere and keep teleporting away, do that purple glow thing where they're unflinchable and have massive long range attacks that always hit you outside of the camera range while your lock-on FIGHTS you and only targets the furthest enemy instead of the one right fucking beside you.
John Flores
because it is not made to be played outside of the game (unless you can find a fitting moment to use it). It is a tune that is designed for that particular moment and fight of the game.
Daniel Martin
wheres the playable vergil mod?
Parker Hughes
Clear the secret ending on first level till you reach dante must die or hell and hell
If you want secret mission which doesnt give you achievement keep charging shots at urizen until his yamato barrier clears off and attack him, repeat till you unlock the diffuculty meant for you
Nicholas Howard
I felt like there was some random dificulty spike around mission 16 when you fight that chicken boss. The rest of the game is piss easy but suddenly the bosses do a shit tonne of damage
Wyatt Phillips
I do.
Austin Davis
secret ending ending i meant
Lucas Morales
shitposting should be banned
Leo Murphy
Just like mgs4, dmc5 suffers from too much damn fanservice
Kayden Rodriguez
lol not even arguments simply refutations against OPs opinionated claims.
I will absolutely shill this fucking game I pirated it day one and after beating demon hunter mode I saw that Cuckcom was going back in the right direction so I went out and bought that shit. Currently S ranking every mission and will absolutely be getting all the cheetos.
you're an idiot, the game is dog shit and not worth money.
Jason Miller
um RE2 is a remake you moron they designed the environments rather accurately
Brody Reed
>This guy's complaints are pretty good though *BZZZZZT* WRONG. YOU'RE GAY
Jeremiah Evans
>Always forced to start on normal/devil hunter in these games before you can unlock hard Every DMC had a way to unlock DMD before beating the game, though it was different in each one. Sometimes it was as easy as just downloading the DLC that gave it to you for free, other times it's more complicated like in DMCV where beating the prologue fight gives you SoS and then DMD.
Andrew Brooks
They're completely accurate.
Angel Torres
faggy whiner
Angel Martin
The low fov make it hard to judge distances yes, and people just using the max camera distance actually make it worse
Joseph Richardson
samefag
Ayden Gutierrez
That was hard to watch. He started bitching as soon as I started the video.
Dominic Williams
Usually this applies to a sequel whenever it's the case, but I think DMC3 simply had higher highs and lower lows. 5 is excellent but doesn't erally get passed 3's best parts but doesn't have it's total bullshit enemies and areas.
Turbo has no performance hit. You can literally test it on PC which already has usable timescale triggers
Luke Harris
>it was hard to listen to someone with valid gripes What is wrong with you?
Austin Garcia
>dante is that 60 year old guy who thinks he's still 19 >virgil looks like back to the future biff and is voiced by an anime club nerd >nero is worthless >v was the kind of pussy who you'd expect to be playing with fidget spinners >nico is a kike but with a hill billy accent and acts like an 11 year old boy >lady is the only attractive female in the franchise but she's a negress, so no, thanks
I'll just save my money for Sekiro, I've been longing for some Tenchuesque verticality and stealth combat.
Gabriel Cook
fuck off Tameem your shitty game flopped
Andrew Campbell
Yes it does, I only dropped frames using turbo. And consoles are much weaker, any little thing like 1 extra enemy or an extra patch of grass(which is nothing to PC) will lower frames on consoles. They were already dropping frames without turbo, that's why they aren't getting it.
>Valid gripes I heard a whiny boss complained about a boss that can't hit him only to see him get chunked for almost half his health. Then I turned it off. If that's your video I'm genuinely sorry for your voice, get that soi out of your system.
William Richardson
From owns the Tenchu IP. As long as the combat and grappling hook feels similar, I'm cool with ditching Rikimaru and Ayame and just considering Sekiro a spiritual successor.
Isaac Wright
Trish is still amazing.
Colton Rivera
>not buying both Armored Core 6 when
Evan Perez
whiny bitch*
Ian Green
Really? There was no loss on my end at 10% speed
Brody Lee
so how hard is DMD compared to SoS? is it just SoS but enemies get DT?
