Test Drive Unlimited definitely because I remember setting it up on a friend's new PC. Trackmania Nations forever came out that year so I was probably playing it, thought I would ultimately not reach my TMN playtime. I was probably still playing CS:S at the time, and I may have still played Star Wars Battlefront 2 or something like Dawn of War or Tiberium Wars. And then of course GTA IV released just in time for Christmas.

I pretty much played WoW and Pokemon through the entire 7th gen, barely touching anything else at the time. I've tried to "see what I missed" since then but the 7th gen on consoles was maybe 10-20 worthwhile games, the good shit was all in handhelds, indie, and long standing multiplayer titles. It's hands down the worst generation for gaming.

It feels really jarring and surreal seeing Early Zoomers taking over the Internet and nostalgic for the late 00s-early 10s, saying things like "In my day we had Minecraft and icarly, not Jake Paul and Fortnite", "2008-2014 was the golden age of music", "Adventure Time ending marks the end of my childhood."

Just a few years ago, you had everyone ranting about how the late 00s-early 10s stuff was the downfall shit era and the 90s was better. I guess they all died or something.

In 2008 I was playing Battlefield 2142, World of Warcraft, Dead Space, and Valkyria Chronicles (I didn't even own a PS3, I borrowed a friend's). Rock Band was the party game of choice.

No joke, but I just recieved a huge order of used Wii games I didn't get to play back then and started going through them to see what I missed. Warioland Shake It is like the tie-in to the Wario cartoon we deserve but never got, fuck it is so good.

2008 was when I sold my shitstation 3 and bought a 360 and I'm probably playing mirrors edge, halo 3, gta 4, fable 2 or gears of war 2.

Man, '08 had a surprisingly good list of new game releases. I know I played CoD WaW, MGS4, Valkyria, Fallout 3, and Far Cry 2 in that year.

Similar story here, but in my case it was a bitchy girlfriend that kept me from playing much. I had a PS3 and a 360 but she'd flip out if I played anything long enough to actually enjoy it.
