Games with stars as a large component

I don't mean stars as collectables, but rather stars as a thematic backdrop.

Okami

Pyre

Ah, yeah! Totally forgot about the constellations in Okami.

Skyrim

TES in general, really. I always remember Morrowind having amazing night skies.

I don't remember if others have it as integral, but Skryim's entire skill thing was based on stars and constellations.

grim dawn's devotion system uses a constellation aesthetic

>The letter that preceded you mentioned you were born under a certain sign.

>And what would that be?

You read that in his voice, didn't you?

Yes, and I don't know how I forgot about that.

Mario Galaxy, which I still love to this day.

Super mario galaxy

My nigga

>mfw always lived in a place with no street lights
>saw the stars perfectly nearly every clear night
>now i'm a citycuck
>not seen them for years
Don't want to sound like a fag, but I miss that spiritual experience.

It's amazing, user. I worked in Alaska for 8 years and being in the open ocean with almost zero light pollution was extremely invigorating. I always liked to think about how I was staring into the past.

It is interesting to think that the light came from potentially thousands of light years away for a final resting place within your eye.

For some reason the start-filled backgrounds of the rock levels of Rayman always stuck with me. Especially the really weird one with the curtains.

Hmm. Assassin's Creed origins has around 20 segments where you stargaze at constellations and see what the Egyptians called them

>started reading it in his voice before i even looked at the image

Sounds interesting. Are there any books that goes through mankind's changing views of the stars and what they represent?

Mata Nui Online Game had telescope where you could read the stars and prophesy what the next chapter of the game was going to be about. The effect is sorta lost today, since it has all been released, but it was really cool at the time

Prey - the 2006 one - takes place on an alien dyson sphere type mega structure with a star like object at it's center powering the whole thing - they don't go too much into the mechanics behind it but it's the setting of 98% of the game and a big deal

>for a final resting place within your eye.
They're not a final resting place, user.

They will be reflected.

Onto yours.

It's fucking crazy man
The universe is such a weird place, everything about it makes me feel like we don't belong out there and we should have just stayed blissfully ignorant

And from my pillow, looking forth by light
Of moon or favouring stars, I could behold
The antechapel where the statue stood
Of Newton with his prism and silent face,
The marble index of a mind for ever
Voyaging through strange seas of Thought, alone.

Can we count space games? 'cause that'd be most all of them. Specific mentions to FreeSpace 2 and Freelancer.

Grim dawn is an under rated classic.
>HAHA DON'T GET KILLED OUT THERE

Super Mario World

I miss the star fields at the end of Final Fantasy games. Especially FF7. I don't know why that journey through the cosmos gets to me after that game. When I replay it I leave it at this screen for ages and just stare at it.
