After 3 it completely devolved into bloody palace simulator. Platforming was never good but they could have integrated it better instead of keeping it to the minimun. Also zero puzzles or adventure game shenanigans dmc1 style, mission 13 (when you ajve to fill the pools of blood and feels kinda like dmc1 or 3) made me realise how barebones this game is

The gameplay is great bu they barely even do anything with the art design or improve on their 2008 mechanics after 11 years devil breaker and v's gameplay seem like lackluster additions

Couldn't agree more.

But what would you do differently if YOU made a DMC game?

Devilman May Crybaby.

Make it faster so I get paid quicker.

Sparda prequel game.
Game begins with you on the demon side fighting humans, maybe 1-3 missions of this, depends how much budget there is.
Real game begins after Sparda realises he's on the wrong side and begins his rebellion against the demons.
Bosses would include your previous allies either seen in cutscenes or the first 3 missions fighting alongside you, it's important these bosses are challenging and memorable.
Sparda's personality would probably lean closer to Vergil than Dante but sometimes you would see a bit of Dante in him, though he shouldn't be quite as serious as Vergil overall, more heroic.
Reveal that Mundus is not the big bad of the demons, there is another pulling the strings and the game ends ambiguously.
Secret cutscene at the end showing Dante and Vergil finding Sparda's body somewhere in hell, following on from DMC5 ending.
In terms of gameplay, remove the style meter entirely, make it more about utilizing a complex moveset to survive the encounters rather than juggle punching bag enemies, think Ninja Gaiden.

My idea :
Make a totally new character, make it already be in demon form the whole way through the game.

>make him have powersets instead of a devil trigger
>make the game much longer filled with interesting story and content
>Add a few interesting mysteries to the story
>Call the MC Felix
>give him a game with 7 difficulty levels
>Have the final boss in three extensive rounds that reflect the character in a way in moveset.
>give the player more control with combos
>Add a customizer for weapons and powers
>Give the player not just fights to play through but also a few mini games
>Make it into a semi-open world game.

I'd say I'd rate that an easy 5/5 stars
I want this so bad, I waited 10 years for this.

>Also zero puzzles or adventure game shenanigans dmc1 style, mission 13 (when you ajve to fill the pools of blood and feels kinda like dmc1 or 3) made me realise how barebones this game is

How does that make it barebones? The puzzles and adventure shit has always been the worst part of DMC. Do you not remember DMC4 and all of these things that made it terrible? DMC5 understands its strengths and doesn't waste its time trying to change any of that. Whatever it has outside combat is simply more of a way to add light variety and change the pacing. DMC5 has that without being annoying garbage like that pre-Doppelganger platforming tower in DMC3. Its enough variety to keep things fresh without it being constantly wave after wave of enemies non-stop. It's like God Hand in that regard.

I would rework it as a first person VR shooter. I would also add busty anime waifus. Multiplayer would be BR.

2/5 stars

Two games about Sparda.
First is him with Mundus conquering Hell.
Second is him protecting humans and killing Mundus.
We will see how Rebellion and Yamato were made, we will se Dante and Vergil when they were childs, Beowulf will be the spider of the first game.
Devil form all the time in the first one, you can execute/eat demons (something like MGR) to be faster/stronger.

Are you being a shitposting little bitch?

I think I like that.
4/5 stars

Reboot the franchise and turn Dante into an edgy angel/demon hybrid who looks like me, but cooler. Also he swears a lot.

no, you asked what i would do if i was making a dmc game.

Platforming and puzzles were the worst part because they were poorly made, so try and improve those mechanics. Its not like i want it to be a puzzle game but when the game devolves into
>corridor
>fight
>corridor
>fight
It's a bad sign. Combat hasnt evolved at all in 11 years either. it's great and fun but come on, they already had the basics of the combat done when they started development they could have focused on level design or coming out with new and more original enemies and combat situations. Also the completely new character they introduced, V, lacks depth and is not really that fun to play compared to the other two

My point is this game feels a bit redundant to the point where they may as well just remake dmc3 or release a bloody palace only mode with multiple characters. They are not going much further than that anyway

Alright that's fine.

Nobody in their right mind wanted puzzles or platforming in DMC game. Nobody. You would get shit dumped on your head relentlessly for proclaiming you liked those even a year ago and it's so funny to look at all the hipstershit with these opinions popping up now like mushrooms after the rain now.

**GRAPHICS**
no realism shit. style would be closer to this.
youtube.com/watch?v=ggwRhCYEvf0
but with more effort & polish on faces & other details.

**COMBAT**
A mix of 3,4 & 5. so for example jump canceling would be easier than 4 but not as easy & generous as 5. it'd have inertia, reversals & just a bit more weight than 5 but give you a tiny bit more air control on standard jumps for better platforming. Nero would have breaker switching.

**LEVELS**
5's levels were disappointing. i'd add some more platforming, bring back wall running and make it more fun.
and PUZZLES i'd design lots of little puzzle but have their execution and interaction be fun in and of itself like klonoa, Crosscode and iconoclasts puzzles. this means they'd be short sweet and intrusive. especially for speed runs.

**WEAPONS**
DMC5 weapons plus I'd bring back all weapons from DMC3 & DMC1.
Also a mode where you make your own sword, gauntlets, or transforming weapon & create a unique moveset for it based on moves from existing weapons.

Agree. The RE style puzzles in DMC have always been pretty straightforward and streamlined so they weren't that bad. I'm kind of glad they did away with the whole being in a large castle that you open up as you go along motif, but I wish they did more with the levels than just having most of them be walking down a linear path to the end. The blood pools wasn't that crazy but it did a good job of breaking up the level.

easy 5/5 star rating
I love where this is going.

I did.

I disagree. Having the game just be BP only mode would make the game boring because it's pretty much the same visual for an entire game length.

Changes in visual vistas and having light breaks in between in the form of simple puzzles and simple platforming is neccesary to not make the game feel boring. There should be enough of that to provide variety, but not so much that it intrudes on the core element of the game, namely, the combat. In that regard, DMC5 did very well. Could it have more visual variety in its levels? Yes. I agree with critics on that. But as far as its platforming and puzzles are concerned, it's the best balance in the series.

God Hand is pretty much "corridor > fight > corridor" as well, and the level designs and puzzles there are even more simplistic than DMC5, but nobody would enjoy that game if it was only a single Bloody Palace-esque arena with 100 floors.

based argument

You are nobody and DMC5 is a living proof of creators actually listening to their auditory because now we don't have to anticipate in horror yet another fucking gimmicky platfoming mission or another fucking dice room mission.

But the whole "grabbing a nidhog thing and putting it in some shit down the hall" aren't puzzles. DMC5 had no puzzles.

but I wanted them to make platforming and puzzles good. not the same. they were sort of on track with the light beam puzzles.

PIC FUCKING RELATED.

Attached: Untitled1.png (577x1446, 270K)

How about hard puzzles during hard combat?
And it makes you alternate your combat style.

And it's a good thing that instead of wasting their time on pointless shit they actually decided to bet on the combat system which is the main thing all DMC games after the first had going for them.

>DMC6
>Set in the future
>High tech cyberpunk esque looking city
>Dante and Vergil never returned from the underworld
>Nero is old now and his body is barely in fighting shape
>Demonic event happens in the middle of the city
>Nero knows he is the only one who has the power to defeat them, but he needs support
>Nico build him a sleek mechsuit and upgrades Red Queen and Blue Rose
>Multiple Devil Breaker functions integrated into the mechsuit (Switching functions on d-pad)
>Game is about Nero infiltrating the city and getting to the bottom of whatever has happened
>2 shadowy figures follow and stalk him, assaulting him over the cause of the game
>They wield Devil Sword Dante and Yamato and act as rival fights several times
>DT integrates with the mechsuit and makes him a cyberdemon
>Not a full blown demon invasion, but enough to have the city quarantined and have people in fear
>high society conspiracy and underground labs researching the demons

Everybody loved that shit you mongoloid

Sure, try to re-write history you shit eating piece of hipster trash.

5/5 Very Very interesting
this is something new.
Super Sexy Style!

It was one of the biggest complaints about 3 and 4 so much so that Itsuno himself mentioned all of that criticism in interviews after 5's reveal and said that they have toned down all of that in 5.

Give more incentive to do cool combo (ex: enemies takes more damage when they're airborne, Dante do more damage if he switch style styles/weapons mid combo, doing more damage in SSS).
Punished over-reliance on one move (ex: doing the same move repeatedly on an enemy will cause that enemy to take less damage and less hitstun from that move). Basically I don't like how spamming stinger/streaks could be so efficient AND safe.

>t. wasn't even alive when DMC 1 came out
no, just because you jacked off to true style tournament videos and thought that's all anyone cared about doesn't make it true

4/5 good combos

The combat mechanics are great but I really wish the arenas were more varied.
Aside from visuals every mob fight is basically a mid-sized closed-off room. DMC3 had larger open areas with enemies shooting you from far away, very tight staircases and corridors where you have little room to dodge horizontally, platforms and other elevation changes to spice things up.
In DMC5 it really doesn't matter where you're fighting.

Fuck puzzles. What we need are more unique situations like snipers shooting from above, like in dmc3, or elevator and railroad again from 3.

Keep living in your imaginary world where complains about platforming and puzzle mechanics weren't so vocal the series director himself had to answer on them.
Oh, and take your underwater levels together with you into the shit eating hipster hell.

>Super S*xy Style!
This is a christian board

Pretty much what V is just remove V add Vergil instead. I also don't care about the story.

2/5
While I can see where you’re coming from, I wouldn’t enjoy going to heavily in the sci-fi direction.
Also not a fan of the old man Nero angle.
It has potential but it would require stellar execution to turn things around for me.

Complaints about everything are vocal. It's almost like shitter babies who complain are heard more than people who just accept things and like them. If the puzzles in 3 and 4 really got to you so bad you might have a mental disability because they really weren't hard at all or time consuming in any way.

5 has flesh arenas that crumble under their own weight, Nightmare wall breaking that opens up alternate routes in his levels, wall spikes and timed gates, that crazy ass theatre arena that slides down while you're fighting a bunch of dark knights and even a huge-ass vertical level. As far as actual combat arena and situation variety goes it's pretty good.

>I disagree. Having the game just be BP only mode would make the game boring because it's pretty much the same visual for an entire game length.
Then you actually agree with him and missed the point of the post.
In DMC5 every couple of steps you approach a large circular room where you know it's going to seal up when you approach the exit port and then it'll be an arena fight. It basically already is a BP mode with short hallways between fights.

Cry harder user, i'm sure Itsuno will care and decide to revert DMC back to half-baked RE clone.

Nobody is crying. You really need to take a nap, you seem cranky. Maybe take a break from the internet today and ask your mom to bring you some tendies.

Godamnit I want some tendies...

You will immediately cease and not continue to access the site if you are under the age of 18.

Why was Credo one of the best boss fights in 4 but he's the only one you fight once?

I know right?

Because nero is unironically better than dante but everyone is in denial.

Set it 2000 years ago in the past, half of the game is played as Sparda, the other half is with Lady's ancestor. Sparda gets only the force edge for most of the game and it's kind of a mix of Yamato with judgement cuts and rapid slashes and Rebellion with aerial raves and dance macabre. Doesn't have to be exactly along those lines but whatever. Sparda also has various magics for ranted weapons. Basically kind of like dante and vergil mixed into one character and his play style is a mix of the two. Lady's ancestor is strictly a human but she's granted the ability to transform into various monsters by whatever means. The monsters all have unique moves and also bear a somewhat humanoid appearance. Transformations are fast and basically equivalent to styles but you can bind a transformation to each button. Each transformation has the same move amount as V's summons.

plot reasons

Credo is the best boss in 4 by leagues. You only fight him once because of story reasons I assume. I reckon itsuno has a lot of respect for the character and so he didn't want to have you fight a dead character twice.

If DMC 6 stars Nero again, I’d give him some Devil Arms at least.
Part of me is thinking of almost going DmC/Bayonetta like for the weapons.
You have a primary and sub weapon button. When a weapon is equipped to the primary slot it acts like a normal devil arm, when equipped to the sub weapon slot it takes a role between a style and a breaker.
For example get demon boots and using it in the primary slot gives you kicks but putting it in the secondary slot gives you some special leaps or dives.

For the antagonist, not sure again.
I guess some demon mad scientist tries to clone Dante or Nero or whomever, or tries to graft devil arms directly into people to create super demon soldiers.

>Then you actually agree with him and missed the point of the post.
Except I'm not?
>It basically already is a BP mode with short hallways between fights.
And different visuals. And light puzzles. And light platforming in between. That's not just a "BP mode".

If you think of DMC5 as a 3D Final Fight/Streets of Rage, then perhaps you'll understand where I'm coming from.

Is english your second language?

It builds upon 5's gameplay mechanics, brings back a balance of puzzles from 3, Dante and Vergil are the only playable characters and the story would be structured like RE2 (DanteA, VergilB, VergilA, DanteB), story would take place right after DMCV ended and the game ends with them leaving Hell. It keeps the personalities of both characters.

New prompt: If you were to make a DLC/expansion (approx. quarter to half the size of DMC5) what would it be like?

What puzzles were there in DMC3? Figuring out where to go next? I swear I have no idea what you people are on about.

Hitoshura DLC

well you see dmc3 had very difficult and intrusive puzzles like sometimes you'll see a door with a certain color with a barrier and then later the barrier would go away and you had to find out which door it was so you can go through it

You know what DMC games need more of?
Insane moments.

Hmmm....
3/5 stars
I kinda like that idea, it actually adds some flavor.

Easy.
>Pretend 4 and 5 never happened. Nero never existed.
>Focus game completely on Dante.
>Bring back Mundus and deal with him once and for all.
>Vergil died in 1, case closed.
>Actual design levels exist. No samefag environments.
>No shitty fan-services. No extras that are just there for sake of being there. Either you're character that has actual role in the game, or fuck off.
>No /r/ tier of memes. No shitty music. Especially: no WUB WUB WUB. (my ears are still bleeding from mission 20)
>Don't reference DmC at all. Not even to make fun of it. Completely ignore its existence.
>Make tutorial itself as pleb filter. EASY MODE DOES NOT EXISTS.

Attached: 14402349145.jpg (1200x800, 165K)

Vergil and Dante adventuring through hell and coming to terms with their past, and meeting Mundus along the way and killing him for good, not just sealing him away. The game ends with them getting out of hell and Vergil pathetically failing at being a dad.

4/5
I think this is a fair and sensible argument and a game idea.
Not bad.

5/5
This is perfect for a DMC6
my body is very ready!
(As long as I get to use the sin trigger Imma be happy as fuck)

I've always wanted proper finishers in DMC. Sadly, stupid crapcom wasted that idea on V.
The closest thing to finishers/executions you can get is Nero's buster moves when enemy has low hp and will die by the buster :\

Attached: Tenryuu.png (768x614, 204K)

I'm not too keen on finishers, but I guess it could work if done properly.

>Plot: Ancient dead demons are being resurrected on earth with the help a cult made up of victims from Urizen's massacre attempting to resurrect Mundus
>Two main playable characters with separate individual campaigns
>Obligatory Nero campaign trying to cut as many demons down as possible and stop Mundus from resurrecting
>Rival character campaign who is a descendant of Mundus and trying to conquer demons and take their power, not being a part of the plot but wanting to see it through so he can kill Mundus once and for all
>New characters plays about 25% similarly to Dante and acquires devil arms after beating bosses, has abilities/themes around a pseudo-angelic and multiple arm summoning aesthetic, starts off with a crescent moon shaped sword
>campaigns have pvp elements
>final boss is co-op battle against a corrupted Sparda
>either character playable on either campaign in repeat playthroughs as well as playable Dante and Vergil

Attached: 1523696772461.jpg (600x597, 78K)

5/5
Completely based.

4/5 not bad there dudester, I like.

I'd bring back Lucia and have her deal with side plots related to everything that's happening in 5. Despite 2's poor performance, I think it would be a good idea to bring back the only missing character from the series. And throwing knives are cool so there's that as well.

Attached: latest[1].png (980x1611, 593K)

I'd like some DLC where the girls, trish and lady, are more relevant. I didn't like how they got sidelined the whole game

DAMMIT I MISS HER
and her devil trigger as well.

this is legit cool

Attached: DMC2_-_Lucia_Devil_Trigger_01.png (200x297, 81K)

Yeah they need some more roles, and give em badass fight scenes for them.

Seeing how DMC5 replays so well because there's little to no shitty level gimmicks (let's be honest, like half of DMC3 can be considered as "it's that level"), there should be an optional "action mode" unlocked after beating the game which minimalizes the puzzles so you can focus on combat. I mean people don't replay the game on higher difficulties to keep doing the same puzzles, they do it to fight harder encounters.

Agreed. Lady and Trish deserve better.

I would love an action mode that just completely removes all the cutscenes and this the loading from the game. If I wanna restart the level from death just let me do it instantly please!

That too. Especially since now there's loading in between some cutscenes and levels and skipping cutscenes also works only after few seconds.

hehehe based.

Is it just me or does it feel like we're playing Devil May Cry just by talking on this thread?
What ever this feeling is, I love it!

I think you're looking for bloody palace

I want to be able to actually have free roam in a dmc game, I wanna order pizzas, do small demon gigs here and there and have also some really big ones, I wanna be able to solve mysteries and talk to people freely.

Maybe the game could look a tad more anime looking too and I could roam around like in GTA, it would feel just so cool, and the demons.... I'd say make the demons extra scary and tough, go all out on that shit.

The elevator in mission...12 I believe

Random question. The Morrison in DMC V is the same one that in the anime? why is he black?

Devil Nigger.

maybe he's a different Morrison.

No, its the same. They literally redesign him.

Maybe it's because they went PC.

Is pc for niggers?

it's for sjw people with cat brains

moving on..... please?
We're trying to make up DMC game ideas for fun.

>Make tutorial itself as pleb filter. EASY MODE DOES NOT EXISTS.
I don't see why people are obsessed with "pleb filters". I don't play Easy Mode. Neither do you. Why do you care if someone else plays Easy Mode? It doesn't take away from your or my accomplishments when beating the harder difficulties.

Having Easy Modes serves three purposes:

1. It allows more people to play the game who don't usually like more hardcore experiences. If they're in it for the story and the story alone, they can simply play the game for the story and find enjoyment from it that way. They'll still buy the game and support the developers.

2. It provides a potentially gentler barrier of entry rather than a brick wall that new players have to overcome. Who knows, after beating Easy Mode, some players may want to try the harder difficulties? If, on the other hand, the game starts at like Dante Must Die and no lower difficulties exist, that will turn off a lot of players who may eventually like the game but do not have the patience for higher barriers of entry.

3. Let's say you're disabled in some way physically, and an automatic assist or easy mode is the only way you can experience the game. Why shouldn't you be allowed to experience the game?

Because Madhouse owns how characters from DMC anime look.

Lady and Trish fully co-op spin-off.
Rehauled movement so that jumping feels as fluid and precise as a 3D Mario.
Lock-on w/ guns nerfed somehow to make invidiual shots matter, perhaps requiring a period of locking on before guns are 100% accurate.
Story is about the two taking over Devil May Cry in Dante and Vergil's absence and dealing with a sinister rival devil hunting firm run by demon-human hybrids that rip people off. They go through the seedy black markets, a castle or two, maybe by a snowy mountain or something. Lots of environment variety. Possibly an element of back-and-forth within the city the shop is in before venturing off to some gothic hellhole for the rest of the game.
Lady and Trish are unfucked as characters and are given actual personalities instead of being soulless do-nothing waifu bait.
Nero makes an appearance but is only playable for a couple missions (note: all DMC5 characters can be played upon beating the game. Copy pasted from 5, of course.)
Simple post-game Animal Crossing-like furniture buying and rearranging, for comfy hanging out in the store.

this very different and it's actually a good kind of different.

I STILL NEED IT
*downs monster energy drink*

well screw them

There's like no good puzzles in 3, the ones that were are extremely easy or just plain annoying.
Puzzles have always been a major criticism widely spoken by fans, but since 5 has come out tons are going back to "muh puzzles and platforming" even though they were always a point of major criticism very popularly spoken.

You did? I'm not knocking you for liking it, but I was always movement in the games too cumbersome for any platforming that would be considered enjoyable. The puzzle were pretty hit or miss too.

no dogshit big ass monster or flying bosses, they're always fucking shit

smallish humanoid walking/floating sword/spear/weapon or melee bosses are always the best, fast ones in particular

>all bosses should be the same or similar
look at this dork

this is a bit off topic but OP might have swallowed a whole glass full of sour milk without realizing it cuz of the chocolate syrup in it and I think I might gag later, but I'm still gonna talk on this thread about Devil May Cry game ideas and Devil May Cry related things, I'm glad you guys are having fun, this is turning out great.

all big monster bosses are shit and not fun, don't give a fuck if every boss fight is the same sword enemy repeated it would be better. Credo's boss fight is the only good one in 4.

will add to this, vergil's are the only good ones in 3. and nelo angelo are the only good ones in 1

>all big monsters are shit
>cerberus/king cerb
>goliath
>Roots
>niddhogg
>that one ff looking one you climb around on its legs for
DMC5 proves you completely wrong.

there's a huge difference between "best" and "only good". thank god you boring fucks aren't in charge of any video games

All the bosses are good in 4 what are you smoking.

it's not "only good" it's shit

lmao nobody can consider sanctus fights good

>Vergil this isn't weed

Sanctus yes, the savior no

Devil May Cry in space

But why are they in space? There's no reason for them to be in space.

I like a little variety in my bosses as well, and fun and challenging as shit.

Bayonetta, but with larger breasts

keep it devil may cry please.... Or at least in the realm of it.

I did, stupid ass. Learn your lore.

That's a different franchise altogether

>i'm going to double down instead of reading
Dante's mother belongs to the same witch order as Bayonetta. Same realm. Stop replying if you're going to be willfully illiterate.

oh so when you said
>Credo's boss fight is the only good one in 4.
and
>vergil's are the only good ones in 3. and nelo angelo are the only good ones in 1
you meant all those fights were shit? Or do you just not understand how english works due to crippling autism?

no fucker. I said Devil May Cry, not Bayonetta. You learn how to read dumb fuck.

It would be very hard to portray a tutorial where Sparda fights humans without looking similar to Ninja Theory-tier stupidity, but it sort of works on paper.
Sequel bait is bad omen for a franchise like this, I feel. It's not healthy in general, look at Metal Gear.
As for Sparda's body, the 3 manga says he gave up his demonic powers and died a human, albeit they could easily ignore it.
Removing the style meter? You've gotta be crazy.

>play dmc
>has no style meter
I'm not playing a dmc without that.

this, how does anyone read this as anything else?

An Harmony of Despair like spin-off
4 player online drop in drop out co op.
Have all the main characters playable with different versions of them like DMC1 Dante or Gilver, and some bosses and random enemies playable for fun
Levels taken from all the games but redesigned to be more like a straightforward hack and slash and HD, but having classic looking stages as unlockables so you can go around ps2 mallet Island as DMCV Dante for example

Funny I see this post, I actually came up with a basic idea for a rewrite of DmC of sorts.

>Demons are a common occurrence in the world after Sparda's and Mundas's fight left a way for smaller demons to escape and cause havoc
>Vergil wanting to carry on his father's legacy creates Devil May Cry and turns it into a multi million dollar business
>Dante meanwhile was separated from his family during the first demon attack and is now a middle aged man living out in a car.
>After a giant demon attack Vergil not only finds dante but also discovers Dante is somehow incredible with a sword with no training, thinking Sparada's skill actually runs in the family.
>Vergil takes in Dante into his business, gives him a place to stay, and job in demon hunting
>Their main goal is to try and find where the demons are coming from and seal it for good before more and more dangerous demons get out or at worst, Mundas.

Gameplay is an average dmc affair but with more crowd control options and larger fights. Newer weapons includes the usually boxing gloves but here are more inspired by Phantom with insect claws and a scorpion tail, and a long range acidic weapon that can stun weaker enemies There's also an in universe ranking where the better rankings in missions means you get a higher rank. Getting the rank high enough would also unlock optional bosses in the form of Kat (but actually good), Trish, Lady, and Vergil. All of em other demon hunters Vergil hired for his business wanting to see if Dante can prove himself as a better demon hunter.

>cel-shaded
>colorful
>prequel to 3, when Dante and Vergil last saw each other
>Dante joins Vergil's devil hunting business
>freely switch between both characters
>actually mission-based, taking jobs around the world and fighting DEVILS from different cultures/religions
>more integrated moveset, less clawing to reach the d-pad
>Dante finds out Vergil's just hunting for the demon library for knowledge on the Temen-ni-gru
>both fight when Dante wants his brother to stay and keep the business going
>you pick which character to play, the other becomes the final boss

>>After a giant demon attack Vergil not only finds dante but also discovers Dante is somehow incredible with a sword with no training, thinking Sparada's skill actually runs in the family.
wait what?

>nero from dmc5 but he gets dante's styles on top
>difficulties up to dmd unlocked from the start, dmd starts you with all buyable upgrades
>option to play through the missions as any character including basic enemies and bosses
>the plot is dante and vergil leave hell or whatever and end up in the wrong universe where an older nero is the owner of devil may cry and the plot of dmc3 happens but instead of vergil wanting power it's V
>also also dmc3 lady comes back

Attached: 1547837613738.jpg (500x454, 140K)

Wait I got it...
Play entire game as Lucia :
get different weapons
Lucia gets the Sin Devil Triggerlater in the gamethe whole game is a difficult bloodfest and super creative with level design.

There that sounds good.

Basically Dante and Vergil are just naturally as good at fighting as their dad.

also there's a section where you play as V but instead of demons you control boomer dante and vergil with both of their directional inputs at the same time

I’d go back to the angelic look for demons and have the new big bad be fucking Lucifer. I know that Lucifer already exists as a weapon but let me pitch this anyway

Dude doesn’t even appear as a monster most of the time. He shows up at the DMC office similar to the way Trish did and effortlessly beats the shit out of one of the main cast. Probably Vergil so that we can get an idea for how strong he is. Then he kills another who tries to intervene. I want to say Trish but Nero would have more of a “This new badguy is a fucking asshole” effect. We need to hate him. Dante arrives on the scene and eats curb in a similar fashion. From there all hell predictably breaks loose as Lucifer reshapes the world to his liking.

What follows is Dante and Vergil working together to try and tie reality back together as everything they know is being shredded. Basically a less subtle play on Dante’s Inferno. Vergil is uncharacteristically emotional, as he had JUST begun to open up to his son.

Locations include childhood memories, old DMC settings, and DmC-esque transforming landscapes.

And dealing with this whole reality fracturing business, killed characters can be brought back at the end

>weapons
Frost enemy inspired gauntlets. Function like a punchy, bladed version of Cerberus

Time manipulating scythe that summons multiple dopplegangers that are controlled directly (lolV)

What basically amounts to an angelic rivet gun that can nail enemies in place and keep them from being launched during combos, letting you use them as anchor points for enemy steps or to dash toward to reset your location

Pair of Wesker inspired sunglasses that let you petrify enemies

the power creep is real. everyone gets a SDT now.

>Vergil prequel game
>game starts with cutscene set on the night when Eva died
>Story about what happened to Vergil when he "went missing" collecting knowledge about black arts in order to get power
>Dark, gothic DMC3-aesthetics
>Gameplay is mix beetwen DMC3 and 5, puzzles in
>Game ends with Vergil raising Temen-ni-gru

Huh?

yeah that's not bad
I would definitely play that shit.
5/5

You think Sparda should be in a few scenes?

A ghetto hood boy and girl fighting demons. Ones a demon, the other is an angel. They go through Ninja Gaiden/DBZ tier plots and fights and shit. Weapons would be a scythe, AK47s, Shotgun. Swords would be daggers, a Katana, and a buster sword. Devil trigger would be like Dante. Angel trigger would work like Bayonetta. Fights and settings will be in NYC and Ninja Gaiden like.

Sparda prequel. Your rival is a younger Bolverk. Sparda's gimmick is Weapon Style, where your weapon determines your Style button input. Force Edge gives you standard Rebellion Swordmaster stuff, Yamato gives you Darkslayer, and the resident fist weapons give you Royal Guard. No Trickster, maybe a unique style to Sparda and maybe a weaker version of Tablehopper. Obviously the movesets of each weapon would be further expanded to justify committing to a weapon and its style.

Also younger, more "rival-sized" Bolverk as a playable rival. His "Style" button is activating his wolves which can extend combos and work similar to Dante's summoned swords.

Plot is basically MGS3 in the sense it's explaining Sparda's awakening to justice in the prologue and then the rest of the game is him working towards stopping Mundus. Final two boss fights are Mundus and Bolverk - final Bolverk fight is where he gets the scar you see in DMC2, of course.

Alternatively, a business sim where you play as Dante managing Devil May Cry. No actual combat, the strategy is in budget management as Dante takes jobs, decides if he'll take the full pay, half pay, or no pay, as well as paying the bills, for collateral damage, and for his debt to Lady.

Yes, I think game should give a little focus on his past. How Vergil idolised sparda and loved Eva, coping with loss and distancing himself from humanity

Jesus....
that's pretty deep. I can't wait to see it.

>If you yourself were to make your own Devil May Cry video game, what would that be like Yea Forums?
Merge Bayonetta's sensibilities with DMC's tighter controls. Bayonetta's combat felt like an actual evolution of DMC in a lot of ways, whereas DMC4 felt like it took a few steps back compared to DMC3.

Kill Nero and just give his weapons to Dante, because he's a pointless waste of development time.

>I can't wait to see it.

Only in your wet dreams bro
But i'm glad you liked it

2/5 stars
These are important ideas to take note of. I like it.

DmC Dante but a girl. Takes place in Times Square, subways, hospitals, clubs, etc.

>A mix of 3,4 & 5. so for example jump canceling would be easier than 4 but not as easy & generous as 5
Stopped reading there dumbass. Why would you want combos to be more difficult to pull off?

I agree I want players to have more control over their combos and stuffs.

Exactly. Nobody likes the puzzles in any of the games and they break the momentum of the game. 5 played it right.

Original enemies with variants and multiple ways of attacking the player(similar to DMC1). DMC 1 like dialogue, higher difficulty doesn't just increase health but also increases enemy speed and gives bosses/enemies additional ways of attacking/patterns, DMC 3's style system albeit more significant and cannot be changes once starting a stage. The rest, I have no clue.

I think we need the return of Dragon Dante from the Mundus fight. Maybe like a whole game where you're just a dragon flying around fighting demons

Kickass I'd play this
Yes

Make it about Dante, Nero, and Dante’s daughter. While I don’t want to see dante replaced, it’s unavoidable. They’ve been aging him like 15 years with every game so unless he’s ageless, I don’t think he can keep fighting forever. Might as well have his kid replace him once he’s retired for good.

Make the story about group of half demons like Dante and powerful full demons working together to eliminate the Sparda bloodline for good. At the end have Dante and Vergil rebuild their old family home. Maybe Nero and Dante’s daughter can also work with a few good demons too for a change.

Why is there not a single hammer weapon in devil may cry? Like from monster hunter?

I think the best place to go from here is a Sparda prequel. Maybe it could work like a sequel where we see Dante and Vergil quarreling in Hell or something with flashbacks to Sparda telling his story from working along with mundus to eventually turning on him and defeating him. It could go back and forth between flashbacks and modern times, culminating in the penultimate mission being sparda defeating mundus 2000 years ago, then the final mission is Dante and Vergil teaming up to defeat him now where you can take the mission as either Dante or Vergil.

idk but there should be

You're gonna hate me for this, but just make Hangover: devil may cry. Make Nero wake up in las Vegas with Vergil and they learn that they met Nero's mother last night but can't remember anything. Dante is also gone and they search for him in the nightclub. The plot twist is it's not actually las Vegas but las Vegas in hell.

based

A Devil May Cry 2 retelling.

The two swords for Dante are replaced with actual Devil Arms.
>Orangguerra [devil arm] becomes a replacement for Vendetta. It is an Ifrit family member that grants aerial combos instead of the typical dive kick. No Swordmaster required.
>Nefasturris [devil arm] becomes a replacement for Merciless. It is now a scimitar covered in concrete at the back with another blade at the bottom of the handle. This blade grabs small enemies, like the Wire Snatch or Devil Bringer would.
The two blades for Lucia follow suit.
>Tartarussian [devil arm] replaces Zambak. It works similarly to both Cerberus and Nevan, which makes it capable of both AOE attacks (with lasers) and direct combat. It has the appearance of a nunchuck, but one segmented part serves as the handle while the other two spiked parts are at each end.
>Tateobesu [devil arm] replaces Cutlaseer. It's now a rapier made from the originating demon's skin, which can electrocute enemies upon contact.
Arius actually does something in his fights. The secretaries are retconned into standard enemies that appear whenever a mission revolving around him is coming up next.
Styles exist in the game and can be switched with the D-Pad.
Argosax the Chaos is retconned into a mere cutscene, and The Depsair Embodied is the whole fight.
Two of Trismagia's heads ares shrunk into 1/3rd of his size, and the other one is more "demonized" and only shrunk to 2/3rds. The three heads are always together. This is to let the player actually hit Trismagia with a Devil Arm.
Bolverk's two wolves are assistant enemies instead of part of the boss, like in Metal Gear Rising's Blade Wolf fight.

>game idea The Legend of Sparda
>intro cuts to lady saying this : "You've heard of it, haven't you? The legend of Sparda? When I was young, my father would tell me stories about it. Long ago, in ancient times, a demon rebelled against his own kind for the sake of the human race. With his sword, he shut the portal to the demonic realm and
sealed the evil entity off from our human world.
But since he was a demon himself, his power was also trapped on the other side. I never believed it. I thought it was just a child's fairy tale.

I discover that the so-called legend wasn't a myth at all.

Sparda existed."
>it cuts to Sparda on the battle field breaking down in anger "No..... ENOUGH.... I won't take another innocent human soul..."
"Please... Forgive me...."
>cuts to Sparda tutorial on the game's controls
>Sparda confronts a few demons
>he kills some along the way then gets to boss fight later

Idk... It's just somewhat of an idea...

fuck my green text formatting up the ass...

A Sparda prequel is a terrible idea. Imo the series needs new characters that aren’t related to any old ones and new stories and obstacles. I would like to see Dante and the original dmc crew either retired or given something actually interesting to do (also please retcon them into being much younger, if the aging confines they will all be 60+ in DMC7. Anyways, honestly maybe they should think about adding an entirely different faction of creatures, like angels or lovecraftian beings to fight. We’ve already taken out TWO demon Kings and Dante hasn’t been seriously challenged for like 3 of the games he’s been in. They wasted the chance to make a new big bad with Urizen, I think they really have to make something fresh for any more installments.

I’d love to see Dante have a kid and the Devil May Cry business grow too. Maybe they would add more sci fi elements to power up the demons, like have bosses use things like devil breakers or something idk.

>A Sparda prequel is a terrible idea.
That's just... Your opinion... Man.

Crazy Taxi styled spinoff with the DMC gang. Drive survivors around, combo together driving moves and run over demons as you rack up some sweet, sweet cash to the soundtrack of the games.
All the locales, all the main characters. Including Vergil.

Attached: 1549120198047.png (730x657, 558K)

same could be said about grabbing soul of steel/vajura/incandescent board and sticking it in the next room over, face it the puzzles were never good in any of the games

They were never good but at least they broke up the monotony of walking down a straight corridor to your next wide open battle arena.

There is no more auto fire for Dante's guns or Lucia's weapons.
Desperation is no longer a chance DT when on low health, but instead a form that can be accessed by sacrificing both Amulet slots. It's basically Exodia DT now.
The game, in general, plays and controls more like Devil May Cry 3.
Time Statues exist within Devil May Cry 2 and appear before a normal boss would, like all other installments, but now the Amulet can be upgraded up to two times to help you spend less Devil Trigger. The upgrades are ignored if you use Exodia DT.
After the end of the game, Dante has access to Yamato.

Playable Characters all with their own unique campaign:
>vergil
>dante
>nero (with his devil arm)
>trish
>lady

- Uses the graphics/artstyle from DMC4
- Also uses DMC4 for the gameplay template
- All characters teaming up to take on a returning Mundus or perhaps just a new big bad villain entirely
- However Vergil still hates Dante and does betray him by the end of the game but nobody dies
- Dante retains Style switching and more freedom for equipment of weapons from DMC5
- Basically the other characters largely play the same way they always have, just with either more weapons or moves to use
-Bloody Palace released day 1, has the 100 level one from DMC4 and the way DMC3 did it

Not all campaigns need to be equal either. Lady for example could have less stages to play in than Nero or Dante. All have unique stories to them though and some unique levels only they fight in. Even some enemies built specifically for them. It was never hard to make a great DMC game. Capcom for awhile just thought it was.

a very excellent effort there my good user friend.
