dad was a sailor on oil tankers for many years till my older sister was born - he then became a business owner and worked long hours - mom had paranoid schizophrenia and we medicated most of her life till she an heroed two years ago - my sis and i were basically raising ourselves a lot of the time - in some ways she turned out better than me though, she works at a university now as a lab tech and makes solid money while i'm basically a maintenance man doing the 40 hour work week thing with no real goals or drive to do anything else but i have to work to support myself cuz i'm no neet and the thought of living on handouts makes me sick inside

i feel like that's poor form, they are all decent enough dudes without major issues that i can tell and i'd like to see her settle down with one of them eventually and continue the family line, trying to work on that myself and get it done but it's tough out there
