It was a weak ending.
After all the hype I can't believe that they're just gonna end it like that.

oh fuck off, the ending was perfect and wholesome, dante is finally happy after years of being a jaded hobo with no objective in life, vergil is finally free of his "muh power" autism (sort of), nero gets to bang his pure wife with the best ass in the game all day every day, there are all happy, except fucking fujos and homos because V "died".
>Dante and Vergil finally get their happy ending
It was actually better than I expected, thought Dante was going to die
Lady and Trish are not happy, cause Dante turned out to be smart enough to leave his place to Morrison.
It was an ending.
Same. It still feels kind of weird that Vergil was let off the hook with a slap on the wrist after massacring a whole city for the second god damn time to go have a happy ending with Dante in hell, but otherwise it was a pretty good ending for them. Maybe not the most satisfying they could have come up with but it works and makes sense for their characters. It’s not like they won’t show up in future games anyway, they probably just won’t be playable until the SE.
Just gotta wait another 11 years and hope it isn't DmC3.
It was a fan-service ending that I feel like they went with as an apology letter for neglecting the series for so many years.
Everybody wanted Vergil to become a good guy and actually get to be happy for once in his life but it always felt like that was never going to happen. I went in fully prepared for him to die and was very shocked that they actually pulled the trigger on what they did. It's the kind of thing you wish for but you never expect to happen.
>game ends with nero going STAHP FIGHTING U GUYZ! and a tutorial on how his DT works
The real dead weight of the game was all at the end
Dante never wanted to have le dbz fights with vergil for all eternity. He's not fucking goku
The whole Urizen thing isn't really his fault. It technically is but a) He was a fucked up demon-slave for over a decade and then a warped aids monsters that was rotting physically and mentally between the events of DMC1 and 5 which led him to separate his halves with yamato, the dude was basically driven insane from years of torture and decay. b) Even in knowingly separating his human and demon side he never intended for his demon side to go and kill millions of people to make a big ass tree and eat some fruit. He just did it because his demon half was stronger and would be strong enough to beat Dante.
Sooo what? Dante and Virgil will stay there forever?
>Projecting
He did want his brother back though. The loss of his brother on multiple occasions is a major driving force of his character.
The story and atmosphere in general was kind of weak.
>only three environments: city, older city, and tree
>Urizen just sits in a chair for a month
>Nero somehow believes "all the power [he] needs" to win is an arm tazer
>Vergil coming back from the dead and massacring another city doesn't amount to anything
>Uncle Dante and Daddy Vergil just gets dropped in Nero's lap out of nowhere
>Nero gets his Yamato-less DT just by being mad, no use of something like Rebellion/DSD and in spite of much lower stakes than DMC4
It was just an afternoon of shenanigans for the Sparda family back in their hometown.
Why did she even want the rundown back alley shop that is DMC anyway?
Doesn't she have her own demon slaying business that does way better than Dante's?
I liked it, it was really feel-good.
someone spoiler me on the post credits fights if you actually complete them
any hidden cutscene?
IT was a great ending as a longterm fan.
Nah, they're just closing the portals between the worlds from the hell side. They can return at any time with Yamato but they're just fucking around fighting in hell where they won't cause collateral damage. They can also take out any potential threats from hell before they ever make it to the real world while Nero keeps shit in order there.
I understand that and agree mostly, it just feels a little off that basically zero mention of it was made. He was pretty much insane at the time but he still did it.
The Qliphoth emergence wasn't instigated by Urizen. It happens on its own every few thousand years according to the prequel novel. Would have been good to emphasize that in the game itself. But yeah, Vergil is not at fault here, he just sat in the Qliphoth and sapped its power.
>>Urizen just sits in a chair for a month
he's literally waiting for the fruit to grow
>Dante never wanted to have le dbz fights with vergil for all eternity. He's not fucking goku
But he loves fighting, that is what he lives for.
He is absolutely crazy about it.
Important note: Urizen didn't cause the tree to appear exactly, it grows every 1000 years. His strength just allowed it to spiral oit of control.
See, THAT makes a lot of sense.
I wonder why they didn’t explain like that in the game.
>and in spite of much lower stakes than DMC4
No, there are literally no stakes in DMC4. Dante could have ended the entire conflict at literally any time, he just chose to fuck around instead and let nero do it.
For Nero you get a health-recovering taunt. I don't think Dante's fight unlocks anything other than various voice clips according to how well you did. No optional scenes.
>implying it's gonna end
>But he loves eating pizza, that is what he lives for.
>He is absolutely crazy about it.
Fix'd
>DMC4
>Story is a complete joke that's not even remotely finished.
>All characters are flanderized in imitations of what a retard think they should be.
>Screaming bitch tween added for no reason.
>Story goes no where and does nothing for any character in the series, even the newly added protagonist and his cardboard girlfriend.
>DMC5
>Story is a complete joke that's not even remotely finished because they want you to pay through the nose for future DLC.
>All characters are further flanderized somehow.
>Screaming bitch tween has virtually no arc, AGAIN, and uses the power of angst to get a DT to suck all the tension out of what would've been the only good scene in the game.
>Story goes no where and the pay off is that Vergil is alive and killed millions, but no one cares because Bing Bong Morihashi can't write for shit.
Because she doesn't have a place of her own and sleeps in hotels? Even says she is ready to settle down, maybe better buildings are just very expensive or clients prefer a neighborhood that will give them more privacy.
>except fucking fujos and homos because V "died"
I dont mind V being dead. Character never appealed to me like Dante or Nero did.
t. homo
but if that's how it works why is Nero so upset at them leaving?
Fear of loss doesn't really work if you know they'll come back
They can come back pretty easily when they want to, they just don’t want to. Vergil wants to fight Dante not to prove his power but mainly for fun now, and Dante is just happy to finally have his brother back after so many decades and to be doing his favourite thing (killing demons) with him. They’ll probably appear as side characters or maybe even bosses in future games, and you can bet your ass they’ll be playable in every Special Edition for those games too.
Dante unlocks EX V colour.
>t.homo
maybe that's why. I'm straight and I think he pulls off the frail summoner kinda guy really well.
First scene is just Morrison giving Lady and Trish another job to do a month after the game ends.
Last scene is more of Dante and Vergil fighting in hell, they share a moment together before they start killing monsters that try to ambush them. Dante says it.
Nero probably doesn’t know if he will see them again.
It’s like saying goodbye to friends you went to school with. You might see them around. But you also might not now that school is over because there’s nothing to bring you together.
Nobody, including Lady and Trish, know if they'll ever return. For what reason I am unsure, but they also act as if they wouldn't be surprised if they did return.
>Because she doesn't have a place of her own and sleeps in hotels?
Oh I didn't know that
I meant more in the sense that in DMC5, he goes Yamato-less DT over the thought of Dante killing Vergil, a guy he only knows as a deadbeat dad who took his arm. Meanwhile in DMC4, he couldn't go Yamato-less DT despite thinking Kyrie and Credo were at risk.
>No optional scenes.
this user says otherwise
>Rarely get any good octane action games much these days
>I also rarely buy games for full price anymore thanks to Ebay
>Decided to support this full price on amazon so it can do good
I was gonna either wait for it to be on sale or get it used cheap but I must make sure this does good. Also Bayonetta 3.
These are top tier action games and I'm sorry Yea Forums but outside of these, you don't get much these days anymore. Everything else has been watered
FUCK. now I want to see the Dante and Virgil scene.
Nero was butthurt because Dante called him dead weight and the arm was a crutch, he wanted to be more than just his devil bringer
Urizen was sitting in a tree to get power, like a phone plugged in
Vergil lived through DMC1, not a huge suprise, and it did amount to something because it’s the reason Urizen exists in the first place
Uncle Dante and Daddy Vergil being dropped on him was a shocker for him, and intentional
Nero getting the phone call motivated him, and it was what was said and the fact that he didn’t want to lose more family that pulled his devil trigger
The stake were perceived as higher by Nero.
blood relation is very very powerful, even in real life
If you beat the Nero one you get a cutscene of Lady and Trish arguing over who gets Dante’s office, only for Morrison to show up and say that Dante signed the deed to the office over to him before heading to Redgrave. He then tells them he’s got a job for them and to come with him. If you beat the Dante one you get a scene of Dante and Vergil fighting in hell some time after destroying the Qliphoth. They both stop exhausted and exchange some bants, because Vergil is finally over his autism (mostly) and they can just be brothers having fun. They are then ambushed by demons, and Vergil says ‘DONT YOU DARE SAY IT’ and Dante then shouts ‘JACKPOT!’ and the scene ends on a still frame of them back to back, smiling and about to take on the next wave of demons.
That’s some philosophical shit right there.
Those scenes always play.
It's not just Vergil he is trying to save, it's Dante too. Note in the phone call that he says "family" and not "father".
It's honestly Dante's fault he was able to rage-mode DT. Calling him dead-weight worked him into an utter SEETHE for a month straight. Dante was living in his head rent free the entire time, he couldn't get over it.
Nero is supposed to be a stark contrast to Vergil. He parallels him in the sense that he's Vergil if Vergil had somebody who loved and protected him growing up. The ending of 5 is him being Vergil if Vergil had the power to save his mother.
It's a strength that came from his love and human soul, which is the strength Vergil always lacked because of how his life went.
thanks user for that indepth description
I haven't been good enough in any DMC game to get the special credit cutscene
I didn’t get them.
I loved every part of the story
If you'll try to argue for DMC4 you're a retard
>Those scenes always play.
they sure don't, didn't for me. Guess you're just good enough by default.
This is important to say. Vergil did not cause the tree to erupt. That's a natural phenomena that happened and he took advantage of it to go topside, take Nero's arm and do his thing.
Huh. I got mocking comments by both Nico and Vergil.
Maybe the two battles have multiple thresholds. Like the requirement for the scenes is low, but for the actual unlockables (taunt, costume) you need to actually "finish" them.
This. Fags don't like emo twinks like V. I think they pulled off playing a Summoner in this game exceptionally well that I hope other developers take a hint.
I think I was 1 enemy away from finishing nero’s credits fight but I can’t be sure.
I didn’t get either scene.
>>/vg/
>characters are flanderized in imitations of what a retard think they should be.
Yeah, that's literally 3's Dante. He goes from being a chill cool nigga in 1 to a le crazy wahooo one note pizza man xD. At least they fixed him in 5 where he seems like a good blend of 1 and 3.
I agree that it was a weak ending but that JACKPOT saves it for me.
It's too good
3 had good reasoning for him to be the way he was. First he was a teenager who was trying to be cool (but usually fucking it up). Secondly his whole cool-guy shtick was a defense mechanism to help him deal with the gravity of the situation he was in.
4 was the game game that really nailed in the "Dante is just some crazy motherfucker that does goofy shit all the time because he's crazy". 5 is honestly the most serious Dante has been since DMC2 by a significant margin. The Faust cutscene is the only major example of him goofing off.
just beat dmd and wanna beat human to cover all bases. should i just use super costumes to make it interesting?
>Yeah, that's literally 3's Dante
nah, 3 was literally Dante's defining moment as a character. He was obviously a juvenile hothead on purpose in that game and it played off incredibly well.
Only thing I don't like about him in DMC3 is his barechested outfit.
Put live-action cutscenes on.
>Vergil kills millions to fuel his demon boner
>Feelgood happy ending
What did they mean by this
You need to kill scythe dude as Nero and you need to kill more demons than Vergil.
It's funny how the worst Dante aesthetically has the best characterization by far.
Tree was going to happen regardless of Vergil, he was just the strongest demon there.
>The Faust cutscene is the only major example of him goofing off.
All the devil arms are minus Kalina Ann.
If you don't think the nunchuck antics are goofy idk what to tell you. But yeah, overall I think you're right, his character is fairly in line with his DMC1 personality.
I loved it. nero getting a DT was great, and dante and vergil still having a rivalry stuck in hell together was great.
thats how i beat SoS.live action cutscenes were kino
well there is Sparda costume in 3 so I don't mind.
He already did it once in dmc 3 though, when he wasnt le evul demon kang
is that in the options?
Sure he's goofing off with the new devil-arms but he's also just showing off their movesets, which has always been a staple of the series whenever you get a new devil arm. They're just him having fun doing martial arts.
>DLC is a new plot in Hell where you play as Vergil with intermittent assists from Dante
>V's cane is Vergils other weapon along with beowulf
I'm ready
>He already did it once in dmc 3 though, when he wasnt le evul demon kang
boys will be boys
yeah, only if you bought the deluxe edition though
Yeah you're right. It depends how you interpret his motives really. I feel like his motives in 3 were more of an "ends justifies the means" thing. Innocents would die in order for him to get daddies power, but once he had daddies power countless more innocents would be saved as a result.
>only if you bought the deluxe edition though
why does the gayest publisher make the best games these days?
Dante and Vergil taking over hell when?
>Nero was butthurt and the arm was a crutch
It wouldn't really be possible for Nero to compensate with skill in under a month, he specifically cites "power" while flashing the Breaker, and it doesn't really fall in line with his attitude towards the Yamato in DMC4. Nero's a hothead, but I wouldn't say the dead weight comment is enough validation for him rushing in with the Breaker.
>Urizen was sitting in a tree
Yeah, but he was still just sitting for a month. They could've given him more impact on the field beyond the Angelos, or at least give him a decent chair/vine-connected fight instead of "you're supposed to lose" three times, especially since they use cutscene-loss later on with Vergil.
>and it did amount to something because it created Urizen
I meant Vergil coming back in full, not pre-Urizen/V Vergil. Destroying Red Grave and killing countless people amounts to nothing more than Dante continuing the sibling rivalry.
>the family ties was an intentional shocker
Yeah, but I mean that the scene was rushed, and I would go as far to say that it was designed to be. The way Dante just drops the bombshell and runs off while Nero's asking what the hell he means is less of a big revelation with impact on Nero's character and more of Dante saying something near-nonsensical and running off before explaining it.
>he didn't want to lose more family
Yeah, but if Kyrie was able to motivate him into DT-ing, her potential death should've done the same in DMC4. With that as a given, there should've been a bit more to cause his Yamato-less DT than just getting emotional.
>Vergil separates his human and devil halves
>when V and Urizen reunite they become Vergil again
>all his butthurt which he expelled and contained in Gryphon, Shadow, and Nightmare is removed by Dante at the point of a sword
>Vergil is still power obsessed Vergil but with less evil autism
How's my head canon?
How did I not see the middle finger when playing
A better head canon is that because of his experience as V he came to value his human half, hence why when he reforms his costume colors are inverted, representing this change.
He recognizes the gravity of the crimes he has committed, but he's proud. He's a son of Sparda. So he refuses to give Dante the Yamato, knowing it will force them to fight to the death as death is the only way he feels that he can atone for what he has done. However, if he did beat Dante it would re-affirm his philosophy of power controlling everything and power coming from great loss.
You can cheese 3's really hard with Kalina Ann
And 5's was surprisingly easy
You and me both. I thought that was his index finger the first time around, doing a classic point to the sky power pose
The simplest explainstions are the most likely.
Nero's DT is likely a transformation akin to Sparda went through when he "Awoke to Justice", and became so powerful he could do all the things that made him Legend.
Vergil and Dante's DTs are monsterous in form due to them being awakened by trauma and violence. So much so that the latest forms are called "Sin Devil Trigger"s. I'd argue both of them were acquired via actions that anyone else would consider suicide.
Thus, Nero, was able to unlock the true potential of his heritage in a way that was inaccessible to his Father and Uncle due to their traumatic lives. Thus making Nero the true heir, and perhaps reincarnation of Sparda; which is evident especially in how Bug-like his form is, like his grandfather was also.
So what kind of DT does Nero have? Is it a SDT? If it's not, how come he's as strong as Dante and Vergil?
>no dlc with dante and vergil adventures in hell
we'll never get this ;_;
This picture represents most of my evening, except with Crimson Cloud
I like it
We MIGHT if data mines are correct.
>It's honestly Dante's fault he was able to rage-mode DT. Calling him dead-weight worked him into an utter SEETHE for a month straight. Dante was living in his head rent free the entire time, he couldn't get over it.
Nero being that thin-skinned and grudge bearing over a small thing like that is still the funniest story element in hindsight and it also shows his weaknesses as well. If there's a demon that could bring the bants it could totally destroy Nero in a fight if it just called him a faggot and hit him while he's busy being assblasted/unfocused.
>>And 5's was surprisingly easy
I didn't even realise those were secret endings thats how easy it is, I thought I did pretty poor on those credits scenes jesus
I didn’t know the soundtrack was already on Spotify.
Because it wasn't just Kyrie that motivated him, but also fear he will once again not be strong enough to protect family, like with Credo, even more so because this time there is no magical sword like Yamato to borrow power from, everything has to come from himself, making it harder cause he grew up with insecurities thanks to being a bullied orphan.
Just a regular DT.
Dante a d Vergil were just tuckered out from their fight against eachother and Nero swooped in when they were both weak.
Pulling his devil trigger gave him just enough of an edge to do that.
Just a regular DT ain't it? Like an actual one, not the Yamato using pseudo DT stand he got in 4. No idea on the actual power level to be honest. It's not present in the game itself but the live action cutscenes had both of the sparda twins bloodied before Nero stepped in. I think the idea being that they had already beat each other up prior to Nero joining in so it's not really the best comparison to make.
It wasn't climactic but I think it was a decent end for Dante and Vergil who will just keep having friendly fights for the rest of eternity in hell. I think it'd be for the best if the next game doesn't instantly brings them back but continues building on Nero's saga.
Yeah, I honestly love it. Just thinking about it is enough to make me laugh. He gets so hilariously asshurt about it.
wat
they play regardless
>Dante mocking the VROOM VROOM.
Unga Nero and thin skinned Nero are one of my favorite things.
>Patty is canonically saving herself for Dante so she can straighten him up and make a proper husband/father out of his lazy ass
I wish Dante was my dad
He eats pizza because he's lazy and doesn't give a shit about anything else other than a good fight.
They'll be back after Dante is missing in DMC6 and people flip their shit when they have to play as Nero.
To be fair the first time he did it could be blamed mainly on Arkham since he insighted the whole thing.
But yeah this time it’s entirely Vergil’s own fault. Maybe if they didnt show innocent civilians being killed in the beginning it could be more easily ooverlooked.
Or maybe she sees him as a father figure and wants to have wizard powers just like him.
Honestly there are so many "too real" or relatable scenes in this game
>Nico acting cocky but also is aware she almost kills herself when driving because she needs to look cool in front of the demon hunters
>V's "Oh god Oh fuck" face when Nero and Dante can't beat Urizen
>Nero SEETHING for a whole month straight
>The WAY TOO REAL Dad-Son confrontation, "Both you fucking asshole"
>Bought DMC5 brand new full price on PS4 because I want to see it do good
I haven't bought a full priced game in quite a while but to have an actual good and mechanically deep action game is rare these days.
If Nero's Awakened Devil Trigger was just something ordinary, you wouldn't have Vergil making comments like "What form of power is this" nor Nero being able to handle two Sin DT transformed kin. Nero has likely achieved something akin to Sparda's own power. After all, if Nero wasn't stronger than Dante how could he just go off to the Demon World so relaxed?
Vergils awkwardness with nero in mission 20 is solid fucking gold
Dante and Vergil just spent a while beating the shit out of each other, they were tired out
Nero's DT is pretty damn strong but not as strong as Sin DT, honestly it kinda makes sense but the Breakers, Bringer, and Red Queen fuck up Vergil something fierce because his usual tricks for fighting Dante don't do shit when Nero can do stuff like smash him and Doppelganger back together
I wish Virgil was my dad.
I like Nero.
The tree grows on itself every 1000 years, Urizen was just fast enough to reach it first.
NERO, I'M GONNA SAY THE D WORD.
>if Nero wasn't stronger than Dante how could he just go off to the Demon World so relaxed?
Because literally nothing is stronger than Dante.
Nero is more than enough to handle anything that the demons could throw at him even if he is weaker than Dante.
I did the same thing, and I even sprung for the Deluxe edition
KIRYE GET BACK INSIDE NOW
Someone red orb me about Devil Sword Dante.
I don't get how the spectral blades work in tandem with the different styles.
also rebellion looks cooler
...dackpot?
Why are we still here?
>spectral blades
>nah, 3 was literally Dante's defining moment as a character. He was obviously a juvenile hothead on purpose in that game and it played off incredibly well.
Yeah the pre fight cutscene for the final Vergil fight had pretty nice development.
You mean the playable vergil they found or is it something else?
Dad
FUCK YOU
U
C

Trickster + Blades = extra airdashes, probably other stuff
Swordmaster + Blades = increased damage, range, and hitbox duration on all attacks. Doing donuts with Cavalier with the summoned swords out is basically cheating your way to SSS
Gunslinger + Blades = Auto-firing sword projectiles, can juggle guys long enough to hit things like the Double Kalina Ann laser
Royal Guard + Blades = easier perfect guards, maybe more release damage?
People were speculating that we could get co op campaign dlcs. I think it was because of what was found in the datamine.
what in the fucking fuck do I do?
The datamining found some menu text for Online Bloody Palace so that's probably your co-op
Speaking of which didn't the 4 Novel have Dante comment that Nero had more strength than him or something? In any case Vergil was probably surprised at the way his DT formed like the ethereal fist wings and how much power dead weight can actually pack in that form to stop two, albeit injured, Sin DT dudes from charging at each other. Dante probably realized that Nero had reached a point where whatever demon pops up Nero can put down. Doesn't necessarily mean he's surpassed Dante, considering Dante treats most demons as a joke
>can juggle guys long enough to hit things like the Double Kalina Ann laser
bueno, I love that attack, but it felt so impractical
I'm pretty sure you just go around dude
summon Nightmare with V at the same spot
It was still his fault that it reached earth, since yamato can open portals.
Yeah, in the novel Dante comes to conclusion Nero has more raw power than him. Raw power of course doesn't mean the kid is able to use it properly, at least until now.
Nah, Nero's a Birb now.
But I do think he was running on the power of love at that point.
Think he was talking about Nero purely in physical Strength.
Or at least able to use Physical strength.
Dante could do stuff comparable to Nero's Savior Facecrush but it would take a couple of sword slashes instead of just a solid one armed hit.
>vergil cries about being abandoned as a kid
>does the same to nero
Why do you want a deadbeat dad?
because he's DEAD WEIGHT
You didn't play DMC2. Dante is fucking jaded and bored as all hell after becoming so powerful by fighting the good fight and embracing his humanity. Nero, Vergil, and a Good mission are all that give him meaning anymore considering
- all the demon portals are closed
- Lady takes out all the small demons that still infest before he ever has a chance leaving him broke and bored
- He has to live with a demonic snarky homoculi of his mom that parades around in skimpy outfits
- Constantly has remorse for the fact he has killed his brother twice and can't find any lead on his deadbeat dead who caused all this
Dante was literally "I have all the hotdogs but I feel nothing." before DMC5. Even in DMC4 he was pretty damn hard to get out of his hermit shack by Lady until Lady stole sparda and made the threat actually viable.
Now with Vergil restores clearing his conscience of his bad family ties, Nero strong and on earth helping to clear his conscience of bad things happening to humanity, and how he is stuck in hell with someone as strong as him to fight and take on all of the underworld and also find a way like he did in DMC2.
Both Dante and Vergil now have a cathartic adventure to go on through hell, probably what will be the DLC, to get back home.
>Lady is full human
>Does a lot of crazy shit in 3, enough to match Dante
>Is powerful enough to power up a demon in 5
What the fuck
Because I want power and motivation.
To be fair he didn't even know he had a kid and he's been a corrupted demon slave in hell for 95% of Nero's life.
DMC5 Dante is my fav Dante, is goofy but actually serious
to me it's funny how the world's best dad memes came true
>'d argue both of them were acquired via actions that anyone else would consider suicide
also dante's first devil trigger was awoken by vergil otherwise murdering him
Vergil didn't even seem to remember he performed a Judgement Nut in Nero's mom. He basically got her preggo, did the Temen-Knee-Grow shit, then got stuck as Mundus' puppet for a decade and spent another 10 years literally falling apart as a mindbroken hobo
They probably decided to make it so because it’s what fans wanted.
same. I'm glad he got a bit more depth of character this time
Magic Priestess blood I guess?
Also considering how the Qlithoph drained human blood for power, maybe that demon was taking some sips of Lady's blood?
It's called the power of being best girl.
also his homeless grandpa look kinda grew on me
DANTE I'M GONNA ORDER PINEAPPLE PIZZA
All this time I thought Nero said "I'm back in the bitch"
Turns out it was "I'm baggin this bitch"
game's story was already done by the time the first trailers hit. If you believe otherwise you don't know how game development works.
>What's wrong, Blood of Sparda? Chicken?
subhuman
I was talking about the theories that occurred when 4 was released.
Fucking hell I read that in his voice
This isn't cuuh-ray-zey, onii-chan
>"I'm back in the bitch"
That's what he yelled from the bedroom after returning home.
Why is this game so toxic?
>Tree grows every one thousand years
>Only Goliath and Urizen attempt to get it
What were the other demons even doing? Even if Urizen is mad strong are they really just gonna let some dude they know nothing about grab a chance to become the King of Hell?
Either get in good with the strongest or get killed
Why doesn't Virgil just use Yamato to teleport out of hell?
Like hell he would. Kyrie is too pure, he wouldn't swear around her
It always is Dante
>dante is finally happy after years
But there's no music, pizza and strawberry sundae in hell. And doing nothing but fighting 24/7 is gonna get stale.
>Implying Nero would ever say that about Kyrie
Nero doesn't even let people swear around his waifu, dude is too pure for that
Soo uh is charge shot just a further upgrade of color up on Nero or are those two distinct skills? Because they seem to activate exactly the same.
It's okay, virgil can make a portal to 7/11 and pick up some snacks
How much of a pussy am I for liking Overture best as my default devil breaker?
>quick
>good damage
>good style
No you have to hold charge shot longer to push enemies away, color up doesn't do that
Why did they make Nero look so much like DmC Dante? It’s distracting and unecessary. Why couldn’t they give him a different haircut?
He just leaves nero after finding out he's a father, he probably got sick of Nero's shit when he was hanging out with him as V.
I like it too.
I like the way it bounces enemies off the ground.
I'm not even mad
Why would he?
>son is outside
>bills are outside
>patty's birthday is outside
>you can fight with your lil' bro as much as you want
>Vergil wants to be like his dad
>fails in almost every respect to honor Sparda
>apart from being an absentee father
Kino
I’m pretty sure Vergil was confused as hell by the DT’s variation vs his own/Dante’s. The brothers are really the only half demons we know and their appearances often match. Nero, after a whole game of showing no signs of a DT, suddenly shows up with a wild looking one and three new fucking arms. Besides, I’m pretty sure Vergil only defines things in terms of “power” or “motivation”
Goliath was dumb as fuck while the other demons knew that Urizen will wipe the floor with them if they try
He still hasn't paid Nero his mother's alimony
Are you telling me Patty was so frustrated of not being able to reach Dante she phoned Urizen and end up inviting him too?
i wonder if lady will awaken demonic powers after being pumped with urizen aids for a full month
>gets to fight his brother like the power autist manchild he is for as long as he wants
>Dante wants to escape bills and bitches
They'll only go to the human world whenever Dante can't control his urge for pizza before heading straight back.
>imagine being so annoying your friend rather stay in literal hell than going to your birthday party
Patty is the worst girl
What kind of woman would let Vergil's autistic ass cum inside her?
He can. But fighting dante is fun
i like how its gimmick is basically "press button for beeg dameg unga bunga"
Have you seen his ass? What kind wouldn't?
this, the ending was actually kino. Sparda came from hell and now Dante/ Vergil went full circle
>implying dante doesn't steal pizza and food while vergil protects the portal from demons
You mean who would not.
>Implying they dont use the yamato to have a pizza hotline straight to hell
>Implying they arent sending the pizza bill to trish while she seethes
Who wouldn't?
>demonic powers
Nah, but Vergil might end up paying twice the amount for child support.
she do porn?
DISMAL
DMC3 did the same and that was fine. Why can't this one?
With how easily Vergil was able to take back Yamato I'm half convinced it wanted to return to him.
Probably pissed off at Nero for wielding Red Queen instead.
>Implying he wasn't raped
Is this a serious question?
Any of you stylish bros have advice for someone who is new to the genre? I've beat 3 and 4 but I got my ass raped in 3 most of the time.
Playing 5 currently and I feel like my fingers are spaghetti. How do I git gud? Mission 12 Urizen raped me and I had to use a gold orb. On freaking Devil Hunter.
>Yamato is a tsundere
II can live with that
Needed an extra nero lv before rushing to finale.
pacing wasn't good with constant jumping until ch 13.
I'm cool with hell end, but not so much how they got there
>s-stop this foolishness
now i wanna see flustered vergil getting sexed on, why'd you have to make me gay v?
>Be member of a cult that worships demon looking God
>Handsome dude walks up to you
>I'm the son of God, check out this sword
>Prove it
>Vergil creates a barrier of energy "YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF THIS DEVILS POWER."
>DT
>Begs to bare the son of her God
Vergil got it easy. But it also explains a lot. He knew his father became strong by embracing a human woman to defeat mundus. He probably thought getting Laid gave his father power, and when he found out it didn't, he probably just Air Trick'd out of there.
i want a 20 mission game of that
In fortuna, getting to fuck a descendant of sparda is the highest honor, even if he is autistic as fuck
Dante-is-fucking-pissed is my favorite Dante. That argument with Nero felt real.
Also it's hilarious how people call him the dumb one when it seems that he was the only one who knew who Nero's dad was.
I put Griffon on my right trigger, which works a lot better for me. It’s really hard to do his directional lock-on moves now, though. Which sucks, because I love his lightning V. Any advice? Also, does the book input seem finicky to anyone?
Exactly
You have to hold the button down for the book to activate.
the best advice i can give you is that everyone else is going to give you bad advice because they dont know what they are talking about
play the game a lot and once youre comfortable with the normal mechanics start experimenting and researching about higher level things
Yeah, I just moved my ranged stuff to the trigger after trying it earlier and not liking it, but this time I moved the lock on to L1 instead. Feels much more natural for me.
this suppose to be the worst ending in vidya
FUCK DMC5
I found him better on L1, and I just kept the book on R2.
My practice is just to basically hold R1 and R2 all the time for lock on + book. I have a bad habit of not starting the read again after a gryphon/shadow dodge.
By the way protip: the left stick has to be neutral (so not held in any direction) before the click to swap targets works. Why, I have no fucking idea.
Even with a woman Vergil ended up being a bottom, what a loser
I'm so fucking ready for the Vergil DLC, he better be OP as shit
Even more hilarious when people are retarded enough to say that Dante wanting to kill Vergil when he revived is somehow wrong. What the fuck else would he do? The guys been responsible for the deaths of many people on multiple occasions now.
Was she yandere?
>dante beats him
>mundus fucks him up
>some literal who girl rapes him
>then his seething son beats him
being vergil is suffering
No? He opened a portal to hell with Yamato to let the tree spread its roots on Earth and started to syphoon blood instantly from it.
It was all Vergil's fault
How did he get out of hell then?
Pretty sure the devs say otherwise.
Same way he did all those years back when he banged Nero's mom? I dont know
ฺBased Itsuno paring a grandpa with a loli like a true practitioner.
>how come he's as strong as Dante and Vergil?
He's not. Dante and Vergil wore each other down fighting each other. Same thing as in 3 when Arkham (an unarmed human) was able to curbstomp them both by coming in at the end of their duel.
youtu.be
Dmc1 takes place on Earth. Mundus got him out of hell to defend mallet island
Arkham was barely human by that time. He was a Dr.Faust kinda character that sold his soul to devils long ago
>revs his sword and rides it out the front door
I've tried playing through this game three times now and I always give up. I remember liking the early dmcs when I was a kid/teen because it looked cool but the enemies are so spongly and they hardly ever do anything. Why don't they make the regular enemies more threatening? They are so braindead and just stand there with a million HP requiring 3 thousand hits to die?
>she
And yes.
Worst shit I've seen in the recent years, leddit tier of autism.
It was alright m8, Vergil doesn't really have to apologize anymore. Yes Urizen (not an actual name but whatever) was part of him and did crazy evil shit but V part of him just as much and did what he could to make things right again. Corrupted Vergil was also not quite the same as the Vergil we get back at the end. He still had Nelo Angelo's nightmares/thoughts/whateverthefuck inside him
That was before 3
The entire fucking plot of the game is demons being powered by humans.
Does anything special happen if you kill all of gilgamesh's legs in V's mission?
Oh, I thought he made a break from hell for a quick fuck and then hurried back to work as Mundus pet dog
How long was it between 1 and 5? It makes sense he got free after Mundus got btfo though
Even so, it's demonstrable evidence that when Vergil and Dante fight, they bring each other so close to the edge that someone immensely weaker than them can overpower them.
Saying Nero is stronger than them at the end ignores the context of the fight and the past games using similar circumstances.
Heck, Nero almost knocks Dante out with a single sucker punch.
The thought of S ranking hell mode is fucking with my morale. I wanna 100% but knowing I have to do that shit is beating me down mentally.
>It was a weak ending
>only ending
Wait, Nero unironically says give me more power in 4? Fuck I need to replay it
That's when you get the Yamato and DT the first time
Yes it's really dumb
I doubt this is the ending of Dante and Vergil in DMC games in that sense. if there is ever a sequel in another ten years they'll probably be back as main characters again.
But "FUCK YOU DAD!!!" is the greatest scene in DMC.
Yes. And this KINO track plays while he says it.
youtu.be
The beginning bit somehow reminds me of nelo's theme
>she
now that you mention it
Sarina, right?
At what point did vergil smash his gf?
Between dmc 3 and 5 vergil has been cursed as nelo angelo to fight for mundus, and got back to take nero's arm.
I don't know what his appearance in 4SE was about.
Just rewatched it. Truly Vergil's MUH POWER autism is something.
Yeah, i think it's intentional
Before 3
He must have been really young
Prior to DMC3, DMC4 was when he visited Fortuna prior to 3. It's implied the woman in the red cloak who looks at him walking by is the skank he dropped his load into.
It was like a gorillion years before DMC 3
>that what a long time ago
Before he got dunked on by dante and moondust
DMC always had a shit story with characters as shallow as the kiddie pool, but fags like it anyways. i dont understand how people can be disappointed in a story that was on par with previous stuff
>DMC5
>On par with DMC4, let alone DMC3
Idk about you lads, but I am perfectly fine if Nero takes the reigns of being the full on main protag, and dante and vergil kinda get put in as side characters for future games.
I'd almost rather have a new character be the protag. Nero's fun but I prefer the arsenal thing Dante has going for him.
WHY IS DMD SO FUCKING HARD WHY DOES EVERYTHING TAKE FOREVER TO DIE IVE GONE FROM 500K ORBS TO 180K FROM REVIVING FUCKING TWICE
Vergil is proof that all you need to have is style to hide the fact that you're a fucking jobber despite all the different times that you were bathing in power gains.
>reviving
Nero and Kyrie have triplets
>One carries over V's playstyle
>Two of them are entirely new, maybe one is full on fists because balrog showed how fun it is to box demons to death, the other is some other crazy shit
Reviving with red orbs scores you honestly. Not reviving gives a 1.2 multiplier while using gold orbs gives you a 0.9 multiplier. Even if you get A ranks through the mission, without reviving you can easily end with an S rank total.
This is obviously a joke post, the dependable part made me kek.
Reminder that the only people who don't like DMC5 are soi-munching Soulsfags.
So are they just going to eat demons?
Considering how barren those lands are, I'd say any minute now and Kyrie's habit of cooking too much will come in handy.
>Agnus is Nico's father
How did that guy ever get a girl?
>Y-y-you too
DMC6: Dungeon Meshi
sorry, woohoo man and power autism boy and their hijinks aren't all that interesting. if you feel emotionally connected to them, that's on you.
His brother-in-law was of the same opinion, but the girl simply found him cute.
If Dante didn't need to eat for a month straight as he was recovering, then I don't think they need to eat at all.
>bael
Well I'm a Soulsfag and that guy is retarded
>gloria
The tree was providing nourishment, it's in the files or somewhere.
>reviewing a game before beating it
He is right about the puzzles though.
I would like to see more devil hunters. Half-bloods, demons, humans, whatever. But I will be happy to meet Nero, Dante etc. as side characters. Maybe even playable.
Moth Pollen Aphrodisiac
Devil May Cry online
They’re all questgivers
Kill Vergil as a raid boss
Enjoy your monkeys paw.
Sounds fun desu. I'd like a DMC game where you get to customize your character and pick your playstyle.
I'd rather not have more V.
He was a fun experiment for this game, but his overall moveset seems too different and clunky for dmc.
I'd rather see more weapon types, like a halberd, mace, elemental crossbow, etc.
Because he was hung like a donkey with a big ol' dick
There are women that like criminals, Nico's mom was probably like one of those
You don't want more V but you want a shitty elemental crossbow? Christ.
>ifrit and beowulf exist
>have balrog instead lmao
Why?
It's got no history, no boss or scene to receive it from, moveset similiar pretty much the same.
According to sources, the name is nothing more than a reference meme.
What sources? It's from Before the Nightmare, which Itsuno intended people to read before playing 5. TL summaries even got posted here. It's fun.
Hell yeah, not some average medieval one of course.
Something that can perhaps lay traps too or inflict status like thunder lines or pitfall.
Vergil didn't get let off the hook, the ending is something of a dual meaning because
Dante is the only one strong enough to stop Vergil that isn't Nero
Therefore, he has to watch Vergil and make sure he doesn't raise any more towers of power. Additionally, this means he gets a happy ending cause he's reunited with his brother in the process.
I really wanted Ifrit and kick 13 back too user but doesn’t balrog switching modes make it more fun?
The real question is, did vergil finally get enough humanity back not to start another power chimpout any time soon?
>Dante is the only one strong enough to stop Vergil that isn't Nero
Nero isn't strong enough to beat a 100% Vergil.
That's a Dante mission nigga
Didn't know about the book, but the name was still taken from the SFV and LotR character.
>moveset similiar pretty much the same
The fuck are you smoking?
name? souce? anything
Why?
wouldn't that mean her grandmother who gave Dante his guns gave possibly birth to agnus?
which dmc has a decent ending besides 3?
Probably. He is not alone anymore, he has a son now that is ready to go to any lengths to save him.
5
No. It's all in the novel. Nell had a son named Rock, then Rock's father had a daughter named Alyssa with another woman. Alyssa is Nico's mother, and because everyone but Rock died early, Nico got adopted by Rock and went on to admire Nell so much, she considered the woman her actual grandmother, despite no blood relation.
... So? Nearly every name in DMC is taken from something. The title siblings are a Dante's Inferno reference, Urizen is a William Blake reference, the devil trigger's are a Tokusentai reference.
DMC3
>entire game is building up to Dante's final battle with Vergil
>bittersweet finale with Vergil taking the other amulet to hell and starting a losing fight with Mundus
>also a sideplot with Lady wrapping up her revenge story with Arkham that also ties into the game's central family theme
>Vergil 3 is the hardest fight in the game, always punishes instantly after a block
>great music
>kino "Devil May Cry" line
DMC5
>Vergil conjured up yet another demonic tower and caused countless innocent deaths
>Nero still being assblasted about Credo, wanting to have a proper family and so on are all revealed for the first time in mission 20
>Nero suddenly wants be accepted by hid dad and save Vergil because of this despite Nero's internal struggles and the daddy revelation both happening only moments before
>Vergil 2, AKA the final boss of the entire series is literally a tutorial battle for Nero's DT and DB
>Vergil 1 is also slower than DMC3 Vergil and nearly always either teleports or dodges back and hangs around a bit before countering, Sin DT is so slow it's not even funny
>Bad music in both fights, like I have no idea how they managed to fuck this up so bad
>"You have to put aside your differences guys"
>"ok"
>Happily ever after ending for everyone and Vergil gets completely off the hook
>Nico asks Nero about crying as yet another callback despite Vergil not even fucking dying, because the game's story wasn't derivative enough already
who pissed in your sundae user?
>there are people who legitimately like 4 over 5
I'm a boomer who's literally been with DMC since the Code Veronica X demo days. The original DMC4 gets super repetitive, and the plot/direction felt heavily Bleached, which made sense given the time of its release.
>no amon, I'm talking about the SPECIAL EDITION
then you are literally fucking retarded as it took ten years for that to happen. Imagine if dmc5 got to wrap a bow on itself right now but in 10 years came back with 4 new playable characters, true co op and an online bloody palace+a whole new expansion. Wouldn't be fair to compare it with DMC6 or whatever the hell is next for Capcom.
I fucking loved this game and easily go
5>3>4>1
And 1 is only at the end because of combat lifespan, the atmosphere and story is still kino.
ooooooohhhhhhhhh.
I didn't even know there were novels. but cool.
It seems to me like there was supposed to be one final mission where you play as either Dante or Vergil that was cut because they haven't finished a playable Vergil yet. I don't have a single fact to back that up. Also,
Based
The story being bad is overblown, it has good ideas but it's brought down by bad pacing and some wonky writing.
The concept of V and Urizen was an awesome idea. The final fight is also amazing.
>Taking time out of your day to make this
Get a life, Barry.
cope
Because Vergil just fought Dante literally seconds before fighting Nero.
This is now canon
Barry, are you OK?
It was fine, I just don't like the possibility of Dante/Vergil being stuck in Hell for who knows how long.
they 'could' use Yamato if it is that easy or some other plot device could show up but I don't like how it's just left like that
I want solid Father/Son bonding
I want Nero getting super pissed at Vergil for everything and then forcing him to eat dinner with him and Kyrie
DLC maybe
Please god tell me Fury's on DMD aren't health sponges too.
I just can't fucking take it. I miss SOS
Just notice how both are happy to be together again.
Vergil finally got over Muh power
Who is this Semon Demon?
Yep
How does quadruple S work? Do I get infinite SDT so long as I stay in SSS?
Pretty much, if you can poo in and out quickly enough, I think it's only enough for 1 sword combo
Nah. They’re just there to take care of the tree and have some time for sparring. They can came back whenever thanks to Yamato.
No, if you use SDT at SSS rank you instantly transform and can instantly shift back out with one press of L1/LB just like with regular DT.
Two things to keep in mind, this instant transformation has no invincibility frames and using Judgement will still have end lag when the SDT wears off afterwards.
>I DONT LIKE NEW THINGS AND I WANT SAME OLD SHIT!!!!
kys, balrog is an awesome and fun weapon
>poo
I'm sorry, I meant pop in and out
oh you're in for a treat, user
Furies go into DT ;)
good end
Lady's blood is also holy since her mom's bloodline was related to divine shit that sealed Temen-Ni gru
That was actually from her dad's side.
>moveset similiar pretty much the same
Did you even play the fucking game? Balrog shares all of four moves with them, and they're by far the most iconic ones. It doesn't even have charge mechanics at all, which was the defining feature of the Ifrit-Beowulf-Gilgamesh line of weapons. Even its rising dragon is inputted by tapping.
Also Vergil looks more like DMC3-1 dante if you give him his hair
Nah, I don't think so. Otherwise Arkham wouldn't have needed her.
Arkham was corrupted, the ritual needed a pure person. Besides, it was literally said in one of the supplemental material, think it was Note of Naught.
Why does a series like DMC, which is supposed to put levity and cuhrazee fun action, have such a dumb, conflicting narrative? Existentialism, cynicism, a depressed protagonist in a fucking series like this. Am I the only one who sees the contradiction? The story in DMC 5 was terrible (and non existent), the novels, from what I've heard of it, is terrible. And don't even get me started on the anime. Why is a series like this even dealing with existentialism? If I wanted a game like that, I'd just play some adaptation of Chrono Crusade. Which would probably be terrible too.
i would be ok with this if dante and virgin still the strongest of the whole cast
If they're going to keep using his Americanized, ugly face, then fuck no. Bring back DMC 4 Nero or this is definitely a shit idea.
just turn off ur brain bro
>Bring back DMC 4 Nero
>things literally no one has ever asked for
>moveset similiar pretty much the same.
>why does this japanese game made for chuunis by a literal chuuni has a chuuni narrative
Protip for Uri, when his pink dildos flash out, spam Ebony and Ivory, shooting them gives a lot of DH gauge, and you can use that to heal. Save SDT to overwhelm him in phase 3.
You know with Nero being able to astralize his right arm I wonder whether he could learn to do that for his left.
Dual wielding Breakers could be useful for him.
Well to be fair Dante seemed like the only person Nero sees better than him and seeked his approval then he calls him fucking useless. Nero put his everything in that bitchslap to Dante that incapped his ass
thoughts?
youtube.com
Sure, the ones he recites he knew by heart already. That there's the reading he has to catch up on.
V on Dante must die is a fucking chore. This character feels like an afterthought, I'm only on the first mission and I'm already fucking pissed off. This shit sucks.
They will eventually return in 6. I kinda want to see more Virgil and Nero banters.
biggest problem i have is giving nero his arm back
his design is so much cooler without it, it makes him that much more distinct and makes the breakers seem that much more valuable. you could still have all the same gameplay enhancements without that so long as he can DT. there's no reason he couldn't just have spectral devil bringer while DT'd and still get the benefit of the RT buster in general. just seems like an odd choice to me. it's more interesting to have a protagonist with an explicit weakness they're able to overcome
here i am adding myself to the other anons who are calling you an idiot for trying to pull a strawman out of a weak ending
Keep projecting insicure faggot
For DMC6, I’d want Nero to take a job for Devil May Cry and Vergil will tag along to try and understand Nero’s “power” more. Maybe have Dante take a separate job different from Nero’s, but ultimately they find out the two are connected in some way. You’d give time for Nero/Vergil development and keep Dante as a playable character and have an excuse to have Vergil be playable in the Special Edition
The last mission was indredibly cringe, how Vergil went from a demon lord without feelings to "muh love my brother" was fucking stupid, the music was shit, the fight was too easy, Nero's transformation was incredibly poorly designed etc
>cant git gud
I.......what?
cope
>DBZ reference
Cringe. Go back to Yea Forums.
i missed that post, my fucking sides, thanks user
Does the Proto Angelo at the end of Mission 7 have more health than normal versions of the enemy? I've just beaten that mission on DMD, and the Proto Angelo there had an obscene amount of health. Surely not all of them take that long to kill, right?
>Can't even spell insecure correctly
Damn Barry, you stupid.
>mission 18 DMD
I need some help with those fuckers.
The night they had was payment in advance and in full.
Gunslinger is your friend here. You can Honeycomb shot Griffon and Shadow and they’ll go down pretty fast or you can use Coyote-A.
It felt that way for me too. Maybe because it’s a coop battle they gave it more health.
Thoughts on this girl’s opinion on V? Should she git gud?
no, killing one just becomes a grapple point.
Urizen didn't create the tree, it happens naturally. He just took advantage of the timing.
Is Nidhogg supposed to have a form on DMD where there's three of him in place of his mouthed-tendrils? I fought him and at one point in the fight three of him came down at once but then they all went back before they did any attack, then just one returned. I can't tell if that was supposed to happen or not.
>>Nero somehow believes "all the power [he] needs" to win is an arm tazer
It's a believe in yourself moment. Despite being crippled, the only thing he needs beside himself is the prosthetic his friend made him. It's a boast of confidence.
>you didn’t play dmc2
Can you fucking blame him?
>movies
>no Highlander
>Dante is fucking jaded and bored as all hell
Just like every person who actually did play DMC2.
Are the coop missions in dmc5 live or recorded from another player? Heard someone say it was recorded but how would that even work with you fucking it up in real time?
>Royal guarding then releasing Cavalliere then following up with Real impact with Balrog
Holy fuck I love this fucking game
Could also gave to do with Nero not being mature at that point. He was probably a but younger than Dante was in DMC3.
I'm pretty sure they can be both.
7 (Angelos fight) and 13 are live, rest are recorded
The whole thing feels like a proof of concept really, I hope BP make proper use of it
Just started the game.
I don't remember the lock on being this weird forced to hold on to the button and not toggle it. Wasn't the jump and dodge keys on different buttons?
Help, when im in swordmaster, using balrog, in midair the move that is the gap closer (not sure what its called) it makes me switch to trickster, is this a glitch or a feature?
It's been leaked that there is singleplayer Bloody Palace and Co-op Bloody Palace.
Kyrie didn't even get a model.
Can you fags shut the fuck up about that weak ass forced relationship? Nerofags need to go.
yeah, i did that fight yesterday and same thing happened, i think he does it when he DTs
Vergil just ate a fruit before becoming whole again. That isn't suicide.
user did you just play DMC2 or what. I don't remember the lock on ever being a toggle but I do remember 2 having a dedicated roll button..3 and 4 too I guess if you use Trickster
I fucking love how at first it looks like dante is beggin for a dollar i wonder if it was intentional.
DMC HD Collection and DMC 4 SE are on sale for 24 euros. Are they worth it? I've never played a game like DMC, but from what I've seen of the gameplay, it seems kind of fun.
Did you only play on Devil Hunter? Cause I imagine that whole tutorial thing was just there for the first time around. On DMD he'll give you the ass blasting you want.
I hope you guys actually bought it full priced to support it.
Second post best post.
I only player 3 and 4. Must be the 10 year long period screwing with my head.
I can't get myself to sticking with this game. How do I defeat the fucking King Cerberus?
Dodge his attack and hit him until he dies
It's so that you don't accidentally switch targets if you click the stick while inputting a directional attack. Not that most people who aren't retarded are going to apply force to the stick in that instance anyway. But I get the intent on Capcom's part.
>He doesn't chuuni like storytelling.
What was vergil/urizen endgame? I dont get it, he was defeated by nero and just gave up on his plans? its was way too fast, from being a overlord demon to the old vergil
I'd say go for it, just don't play DMC 2
Naah Nero getting the OG Bringer back was one of the high points of the game.
V wanted to merge back into Vergil
Urizen wanted to become the demon king
Vergil wanted to fight Dante one last time
Yes
Yep all those games except 2 are god's gifts.
DMC2 is getting a Re Engine DMCV style remake.
>V can stand on Shadow's head when it does it's puncture move
Cool, but why?
>What was vergil/urizen endgame?
Vergil wants power and to best his brother, his brilliant idea is to stab himself with the Yamato and seperate his human side from his demon side because he thinks being part-human is his "weakness" and that this will make him a pure demon.Turns out he dun goofed and in reality like 90% of his memories and consciousness was from his human side. When he becomes a weak human he starts to realize that yeah maybe he is kind of a twat and that he needs to clean up his own mess.
HOWEVER, even though V does geniunely want to stop Urizen. He still wants to kick Dante's ass, this is the one thing that both Urizen and V agree on. But when V merges with Urizen Vergil is essentially a nicer man than he was before because he has learned from his mistakes and that being pure demon and getting the power fruit still didn't make him win.
>Dante gets to retire from saving the world and just fight forever
>Nero is now the champion of earth
>clear indication that Lady and Trish will get their own time to shine in the future
The only weak link was Vergil.
You can argue that "he was V all along he clearly had development" but you he spoke maybe 5 sentences as his own self.
Imagine being someone who never played 3 and had no context for how important Vergil was to the overall series, he would just be "Nero's very stoic dad".
That said, V was fucking awesome.
>this is the one thing that both Urizen and V
I don't think that Urizen cared about kicking Dante's ass at all
>Vfujo
No. V is shit. And this twist is shit.
>Tree was going to happen regardless of Vergil
sure but the tree would be in hell with no humans to feed off and unless someone used yamato to bring the tree to the human world then none of the demons would be in the human world and the tree wouldnt be in the human world feeding on human blood
Give them back!
>You can argue that "he was V all along he clearly had development" but you he spoke maybe 5 sentences as his own self.
Both Urizen and V are part of who he is, the thing is that V essentially becomes a way for Vergil to self-reflect on his life choices and when Urizen gets beaten and merges with V he absorbs the experiences of both.
There's still a side of Vergil that is "bad", but that side got his ass kicked and Vergil realizes that maybe he was wrong about certain things. At the end of DMC5 he at least realizes that his humanity is important to him and a part of who he is.
What are you even on about, you complete retard?
Credo is still the best boss on DMD imo.
I imagine its the same situation as arkham beating up dante, vergil and lady because they were already tired from their fight in 3
Astral Chain
My friend owe me the exact amount of Deluxe edition, so there were no hesitation from me.
Barry are you okay are you okay are you okay barey
You bet I did.
Damn that is a good post.
Hell yeah
This shit sure sound like canon to me.
nah the best thing for V is for
His playstyle to become a class in dragons dogma 2
BIG BUG COCK
SoS and higher difficulties Vergil vs Nero is a real fight.
>slower
yeah because it doesnt have turbo yet, unless you're on pc and just mod turbo in
Goliath only wants to do it because he's a retard, everyone else knows very well that if they try to do anything Urizen will curb stomp them
You're able to do that in DMC1, when the Shadows do that move against you.
Because Dante could stand on shadows head when it does its puncture move in dmc1
>dying
>Vfags/Fujoshits need to go.
fify
I defeated him and Urizen after that, now I'm stuck at the fucking three guys.
>99% of the people of Fortuna worship and believe in the legend of Sparda.
>Agnus was a high-ranking official at the Order of the Sword's church and head of their R&D.
DESU this dude could have gotten all the pussy on Fortuna given their fanaticism and his position. If that wasn't enough to convince you:
>Despite his speech impediment, he was very poetic and theatrical.
>Bitches love poems.
Dante was a man without a purpose in 5. Basically an opportunistic nihilist. Vergil returning gave him a reason to fight and also gave him back a family member who he still loved despite all the shit they went through. Also I seriously doubt they'll be fighting in hell for all eternity. The implication is that they're probably going to settle their differences eventually and make it out.
Spam gun on Shadow to shut his ass up
he's a terrible character for a beat em up/hack and slash type game though
yamato is being used to seal off Hell, he can't make any portals
>It still feels kind of weird that Vergil was let off the hook with a slap on the wrist
you dumb nigger, he's literally stuck in Hell for all eternity
what more could you want?
>for all eternity
>what is yamato
Dante literally went with him to make sure he doesn't just escape, you dumb imbecile
>he actually believes that
LMAO
>They can return at any time with Yamato
did you not pay attention? Yamato is the seal that keeps Hell closed. If Vergil were to use Yamato to return, Hell would be opened again
my fucking sides
haven't laughed this hard in a while
he did in the ending cutscene
>complains about the easiest character in the game
you can literally just smash X and Y and ignore everything else with V and get an SSS ranking in most fights
Why Vergil's legs are so thin
After each encounter is that the points you have for that specific encounter or overall? How the fuck are points calculated in this game? Mission 8 is being a massive pain in the ass to S rank.
That one moment where Dante and Vergil are about to fight and they are both smiling
i didn't play DMC5 (I played 4 and 3). i only followed the rumors and guess. i'm now watching youtube.com
and i swear to god this is the weakest ending ever. it's so predictable that i could even guess the dialogues. So predictable. it is making me angry
Can someone tell me what the input for the iframe Sin DT move is? Its not quad S is it? I've seen it done just raw im sure.
D - Deplorable
...
Has anyone tested if 2p in the credits works like DMC3's Arkham fight?
he just summon sword'ed his sperm into a rando's womb
So this is the legendary JUDGEMENT NUT...
The whole of mission 20 was one of the most kino story moments in the series. Maybe its not the ending you wanted, but I think the happy ending was deserved for our guys. Reminder that Dante has been secretly depressed and suffering (as evidenced by the DMC anime) for a long time. He and Vergil deserved to reunite and be together as family.
Also Nero's little bit about Credo and "I'M NOT LETTING YOU DIE" was really satisfying.
Is it filled with chuuni shonen tropes? Sure. But its fucking Devil May Cry.
are you forgetting that V is part of Vergil? By the end of 17 his only desire is to duel Vergil, but his demon-king machinations are over. Vergil's character development isn't out of nowhere - it happens through V.
My soul... is saying it wants to STOP YOU
sounds like him and vergil would be good friends
based, the essence of what makes DMC good
DMC5's story was anime af and that's why I love it.
*duel Dante
that phone call to Kyrie was heartwarming wasn't drawn out or anything just a simple
>follow whats inside your a good person nero
>nero calms down and replies hell be home for dinner
jesus Christ how to get a Christian gf?

Why do Angelos always get the best themes?

you right bro hopefully doom guy picks up next time and tells him to rip and tear
I had to result to using SDT to get S ranking on Mission 10, they're extremely strict with style points on that mission only for some reason.
>Devil May Cry 6 is Dante's Inferno with Vergil guiding Dante through hell but fucking shit up for Hell in every way they can
>DLC is a wave-based horde mode where you play as Vergil guarding the Portal back while Dante makes another Pizza and Beer run
>The longer you hold out, the more pizza and beer Dante brings back
>Dante gets to stay in hell with his brother like he wanted to at the end of DMC 3
