To be fair, I'm sure the fighter reveals will speed up after April's info dump (itself being almost a guaranteed spot for another reveal). It just seems to take a while for the ball to get rolling for the first release. Remember, Mewtwo (a veteran) took six fucking months before he was released and they could proceed to the next reveal for Smash 4, so comparatively this is a bit better.

My baseless prediction of a reveal timeline: 3.0.0 infodump in April > E3 2019 > EVO 2019 > end of year general Direct (October or November)

I think the problem is that Joker was a later pick for Ultimate. Sakurai described his reveal as being a challenge since they only just began doing his 3D model when Nintendo asked for Joker to be the first reveal for the VGAs. The animation they opted for had its own time crunch issues as it was difficult to get the VAs together in time for it too.

What happened to Cloud Cukooland? Its the most blatant example of a dev running out of time and resources, its just a bunch of floating islands with nothing in common and a mix of different enemies that have no relation with each other.
That said, Tooie is great, too bad about the fps segments and a bit too much backtracking.

I loved Tooie and I absolutely loved its contrasting dark tone compared to the first game; it felt different and new yet still the same. I also love the large worlds, the exploration, the harder puzzles, everything. Platformer casuals need to cope with the fact that the game filtered them, though.

I guess the issue is that BK and BT have already been kind of remade, with the XBLA ports. Sure they don't give the games fancy graphical upgrades but for the most part they basically do the same thing that the Crash/Spyro remakes do.

And unlike PS4, Xbone has backwards compatibility so there's not much of a need to remake the games again like with Shadow of the Colossus or something.

I guess that's true. But in that case, MS oughta offer those ports for the Switch. The amount of money they'd make there would be far more than on Xbox. (I wonder if the team who did them would also be able to tune up DK64...)
