Richter got SHAFT'ed so hard he let the Vampire Killer go to the Morris part of the family and then basically just let the Belmont name rot until Julius comes along. Think of all the Belmonts who lived between Richter and Julius who probably wondered why the fuck the whip that kicked Dracula's ass is not in their possession.

My one tiny nag is, why does Richter use his Dracula X Chronicles art for his Spirit when he had the artwork from Harmony of Despair that's still drawn by Kojima but actually accurate to his Rondo design?
That said, there's a bit more variety in designs than you give credit for, although most do lean towards those done by Kojima. Simon is pretty much his 80s box art but specifically almost identical to his recent Kojima design from Grimoire of Souls, Richter is mostly Rondo with a couple SotN and DXC bits, Dracula and Alucard are very obviously SotN, Death is Lament of Innocence, Mummy is generic, Creature and Flea Man are vaguely more classic styled, and Carmilla is based on Simon's Quest.

I dunno. I'm starting to believe Porky isn't happening as a fighter. I know he's lacking a Spirit right now, but so are a couple other franchise-prominent characters for other franchises (Poochy, Sylux, and IIRC Adeline).
They're either gonna juke us out with a Mother Anniversary Spirit Event this year, Sakurai's actually gonna play the "he's in the Absolutely Safe Capsule" card, or (least likely but my next best hope) Porky gets added as a boss.
Banjo, however, I think has the best chance he's ever had since the Melee development days. Which still isn't super high, but for once it creeps up beyond "never ever fever dream".
