Are you hype?
Are you hype?
I haven't been hype for anything in over 20 years.
I'll play it eventually, but probably wait a year or two so it has all its content and bugfixes as needed like I do with any other games.
Cautiously optimistic. If its world is anything near Lordran's complexity I'm sold.
No
Who isn't?
It looks so much better in terms of game design than the Souls games
As fucking hell
Is this one of those boomer-core games?
>no rpg system
>endless stamina / endless dodging
>cringe character
>gay ass japanese yokai bullshit and castles yet again
>doesn't do anything better than dark souls
lel
I am. I can't play anything else. Or work.
>This game will unlock in approximately 7 days
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I can't think of anything else.
>no rpg system
False. It has leveling.
>endless stamina / endless dodging
Your dodges have no i-frames to them and you have 4 different dodge moves, and you have to use the correct ones depending on how the enemy attacked. It is far harder than dodging in any of their previous games.
>cringe character
Your personal opinion, most people think he seems cool.
>gay ass japanese yokai bullshit and castles yet again
Again? When has From last done this, a couple decades ago? It's the western medieval setting that was getting old.
>doesn't do anything better than dark souls
Does literally everything better than Souls. Combat is way better, exploration is now also vertical not just horizontal, and there is more build variety.
I miss getting hyped for games.
>Your dodges have no i-frames to them and you have 4 different dodge moves
That's also false though, user. You're not in position to btfo shitposters. Better just ignore them.
I don't really want to micromanage items and lose my experience when I die
No, it is true. There's no footage showing you clearly being hit yet taking no damage. It certainly seems to have no i-frames, and the reason is that there needs to be incentive to deflect attacks instead of dodge them. Dodging is BAD in Sekiro, unless you absolutely have to do it (the red kanji attacks are unblockable).
Hype is used by corporations to trick children and the stupid into buying their product on day 1 regardless of quality. I’m looking forward to it and fully expecting it to be good but if you’re an adult and still get genuinely hyped then you’re only setting yourself up for disappointment, as shitty as that is.
I'm 26 and still hyping for games but i'm mostly disappointed
But red kanji can be parried afaik
>buying
I'm hyped but who said i'm buying kek
There is, it's all around youtube. Just watch any of the footage of game journos and "souls veteran" personalities invited to play the game recently. They're playing it like Souls, and it works.
Sure, you're supposed to be deflecting to fight efficiently in Sekiro, but using iframes to dodge works just fine. Except the perilous swipe attacks.
Sure, it looks like a fun game.
Nope. They can be dodged into or jumped over.
The perilous thrust attacks can be perfect parried (but not blocked). It's actually the default way to counter them. The "dodging into" part is called "Mikiri" and it's an unlockable skill.
Sorry but you're wrong.
You are wrong. Red means completely unblockable, must be avoided.
Optimistic
You are incorrect. There are no iframes to abuse, and all the footage shows people trying to play it like Souls (dodging everything) struggling greatly with the game.
>Miyazaki tries his hardest to stop the leaks
>achievement list has already leaked including all the ending names and boss icons
>mfw there's "Shura" ending
It only has the names of 11 bosses, not all of them.
Not really. Looks pretty boring.
I'm gonna buy it the minute it comes out but I'm not particularly hype.
The only thing that can uplift my hype is Bannerlord.
those are the only real bosses. regular enemies with an extra health health bar aren't bosses
>False. It has leveling.
Source? I thought that this wasn't an action RPG.
>and there is more build variety.
You mean none, right?
>regular enemies with an extra health health bar
Have you seen this enemies you giant retard?
They are full fledged minibosses with unique movesets and even banter with MC sometimes and there's like 3-4 of them before a single main boss.
do you count every NPC invader as a boss?
did he try?
what does Shura mean?
False. It obviously has far more actual bosses, considering they already showed 5 of the ones on the trophy list. They would not have shown so many if that was all of them.
Try using your brain sometimes.
>regular enemies with an extra health health bar aren't bosses
If that is referring to the minibosses, they are nothing like regular enemies, they are actually also on the level of bosses from Souls games. The giant bull is a miniboss for example.
>You mean none, right?
Why would I mean none? It has a better leveling system than Souls games so of course it has more build variety. Common knowledge, have you not looked at any of the footage? It's been known for many months.
You have three skill trees that give you permanent new attacks and moves, and in addition you find Esoteric Texts hidden throughout the world that teach you new Combat Arts and Shinobi Arts that you can equip to learn even more new fighting styles.
It is far more complex and has more variety than Souls leveling, where you literally just boost numbers in damage or defense.
not really even though I really like the setting, it's just dark souls all over again
I've been hyped since announcement
Do you consider a centipede man with his own adds, a giant with a set of unique grab attacks or a fully armored knight who shrugs off all your attacks and has his own unique moveset "npc invaders" you colossal moron?
Are you so mentally retarded you think the minibosses in Sekiro are equivalent to NPC invaders from Souls? They are literally on the same level as boss fights like Slave Knight Gael. The only reason they are called minibosses in Sekiro is that they are not inside separate boss rooms but are among the other enemies of the zone, and can gang up on you with them.
Besides that, there are obviously far more than 11 actual bosses too. One would have to be incredibly unintelligent to think there are 11, considering how many they already showed.
The player is intended to max out all skill trees you even get an achievement for it. There aren't builds just players with more moves and players with less moves. It's more like devil may cry or zelda in that sense you just get more tools as you go until you have them all. Not builds just progress.
>it's just dark souls all over again
Poor bait
It literally is nothing like Dark Souls, at all.
>The player is intended to max out all skill trees
The game also has NG+ and judging by the amount of skills unlocked with each new miniboss defeated you won't be able to max everything in one go.
>The player is intended to max out all skill trees you even get an achievement for it.
False. You can only do that in NG+. They literally said in the interviews that you will not be able to max out all trees in NG. Which means you will be able to make very different fighting styles on different NG playthroughs.
Stop lying so much, it's a bit pathetic.
Repeating what I said and then calling it lying must be the final form of b8 posting
You are the one baiting though, since you did lie. I did not repeat what you said, you claimed there is no build variety because you max out all trees. But you literally can NOT do that in NG, only once you reach NG+.
So, there is build variety.
hYPED AFTER DS3 YEAH NO THANKS.
not really, im a souls fan so i'd rather have another souls game
Bait.
Sekiro is made by Miyazaki and A-team, who made Bloodborne, DS1 and Demon's Souls.
DS2 and DS3 were made by Tanimura and his team.
Meh, I'll get it on sale
>It has a better leveling system than Souls games so of course it has more build variety.
A skill tree is not a leveling system. By that logic, Bayonetta and God Hand have leveling systems.
People like you are the reason why majority of games are so garbage nowadays
>WHERE ARE MY REHASHED CASH GRABS REEEEEEEEEEEE
Again, you should really stop spreading misinformation.
>A skill tree is not a leveling system
Yes it is.
>By that logic, Bayonetta and God Hand have leveling systems.
They don't have skill trees. They have lists of skills that you can unlock anything from, in any order you want.
Something like WoW or Borderlands has skill trees, and yes that is leveling. It very literally is.
Oh my glob English VA or Nipponese??
You can only deflect it if it's a thrust attack, it says right there. The other red kanji attacks have to be dodged.
No you can't. You have to unlock lower tier versions of certain attacks to get the higher tier versions of them. In God Hand, you have to unlock Charge 2 to get Charge 3 and so on. In DMC, you unlock Stinger LV1 and only then you can unlock Stinger LV2.
>You can only deflect it if it's a thrust attack
That's what I originally said Claims that all unblockables must be dodge. Which is false, as the thrust unblockables can be deflected.
Seriously, you people, how hard is it to follow the conversation?
no because i don't play movie games fucking garbage waiting for the next pokemon game
Well, you said Bayonetta, in that you can unlock skills in whatever order you want, some of them just cost way more.
Still, it's not a skill tree if it's not a skill tree, meaning it has specific orders and paths you need to unlock stuff in.
That is leveling, stop nitpicking.
*Meant to say Charge Punch 2 and Charge Punch 3
If thats the case than ill probably buy it full price.
I'm so excited I am struggling to play other video games because all I want is Sekiro HOWEVER
>tfw I will literally be in Japan on vacation when it releases so I wont be able to play it until I get back
Its an abstract feel. Not being able to play my Japanese setting action game because I will literally be in Japan.
>People like you are the reason why majority of games are so garbage nowadays
why? because i don't want to buy a linear action/stealth game that borrows heavily from souls but lacks the same build depth, equipment depth, pvp/pve, customization depth, weapons/weapon mechanic depth?
go practice seppuku you fucking weeb
There's really not a lot of skills to unlock. I wish they would have gone with Nioh's amount of skills. At least with Nioh because there's so much you can choose and swap skills whenever.
i thought das3 was made by miyazaki
I also said God Hand. I could also mention Metal Gear Rising. You can't just buy any skill in any order in that game. For example, you need to unlock Sky High in order to later purchase and unlock Falling Lightning in that game. You need Sweep Kick and Thunderstrike to unlock Quick Draw. Is that leveling?
Guacamelee 2 has skill trees, but that doesn't mean leveling exists in that game.
>That is leveling
It isn't. Leveling is a term used for RPGs/ARPGs. Skill trees can exist in both ARPGS/RPGs and action games that don't have leveling.
Oh, you're just the same lying butthurt retard again, pretending to be another person.
>linear action/stealth game
It's non-linear, similar world design to DS1 with interconnected areas to every direction around the hub world.
>lacks the same build depth
Has more build depth
>weapons/weapon mechanic depth?
Are you even trying anymore? Weapons in Sekiro have like 100 times more depth to them than in Souls. You have dozens of times more moves than any weapon ever did in Souls games.
Kill yourself you fucking butthurt lying retard.
>It isn't.
How isn't it?
Reading comprehension problems much? It has 3 talent trees, that is only one of them, and in addition you find scrolls that teach you news skills too that are separate from the talent trees.
This will absolutely have way deeper combat than Nioh.
No it was mainly made by Tanimura, Miyazaki only directed a few areas.
>Guacamelee 2 has skill trees
Those can barely be called skill trees, they look pretty simplistic.
>It isn't. Leveling is a term used for RPGs/ARPGs
This is an RPG. You get XP from killing enemies, and when your bar is full, you level up and get a skill point. That is LITERALLY leveling you goddamn retard.
Besides, even if you weren't such a sperg autist that needs to nitpick over terminology, the fact remains that we need to go back to the original topic, which was build diversity. It doesn't matter if you are too autistic to admit that this is leveling, Sekiro still has more build diversity than Souls because your level ups are used to learn new attacks and customize your combos, which is way deeper than putting more numbers to your damage or health.
Yes, I'll pirate it. Someday.
Half people are just going to ragequit and refund it because From went full retard on difficulty meme with only coked up 12 year old with the reaction time of a fruitfly able to complete the game.
>Those can barely be called skill trees, they look pretty simplistic.
But they are skill trees. Whether they're as simple as Guacamelee or as complex as Path of Exile, they're skill trees.
>This is an RPG. You get XP from killing enemies, and when your bar is full, you level up and get a skill point. That is LITERALLY leveling you goddamn retard.
Do your stats (strength, agility, whatever) go up automatically when you "level up"?
If it doesn't, then that's not leveling up, it's just the game's way of dishing out upgrade points. Leveling up means you become stronger. In this game, you don't. You only get stronger when you actually use skill points.
If it doesn't, then it's not an RPG.
show me who i'm supposedly same fagging as so i can prove you wrong you obsessive autistic faggot.
>It's non-linear, similar world design to DS1 with interconnected areas to every direction around the hub world.
Ten bucks it's more like ds3 than 1.
>Has more build depth
sure.
>Weapons in Sekiro have like 100 times more depth to them than in Souls.
do you even know how many weapons are in the game?
>completely skips over the criticisms of customization, pvp and pve.
Based retard, enjoy your first fromsoft game.
>Do your stats (strength, agility, whatever) go up automatically when you "level up"?
>If it doesn't, then that's not leveling up
So, Dark Souls, and any other RPG with manual stat point distribution, have no "leveling up"?
>If it doesn't, then it's not an RPG.
Or they're not even RPGs at all?
Fair point. I felt that because Sekiro's skill tree was more on improving skills rather than things like damage output or defense, that it worked more like an action game. I guess it works more like an RPG in that regard.
>Do your stats (strength, agility, whatever) go up automatically when you "level up"?
You don't need that for it to be leveling. If you get XP and get level ups, which allows you to strengthen your character in any way, it is leveling. You have severe autism.
>Ten bucks it's more like ds3 than 1.
Why would you assume so? They literally said months ago in interviews that it has similar non-linear world design to DS1.
>do you even know how many weapons are in the game?
A couple main weapons and who knows how many off-hand weapons, and they all have way more depth than any weapon in Souls
>completely skips over the criticisms of customization, pvp and pve.
Because they are irrelevant. No one cares about PvP.
Also do you even understand what PvE means? PvE is a million times deeper in Sekiro than in Souls, you retarded or something?
>first fromsoft game
I have played every one of them since 2009, when I played Demon's Souls as it released.
You're just mentally retarded, cunt. Literally lying through your teeth because it triggers your little DS2 cuckboi ass that they aren't making another garbage tier cashgrab for PvP faggots that no one cares about. No one ever cared about the multiplayer.
>start making tenchu remake
>its a bit different so make it into a new ip
>WTF THERE ARE NO COSTUMES AND 300 WEAPONS FROM SUCKS
Soulfags are the worst fanbase ever
This game would have been much better received if it were actually a Tenchu game and at least we'd have multiple characters and different weapons to choose from.
Definitely the most childish, entitled fanbase of manbabies for sure.
>This game would have been much better received if it were actually a Tenchu game
No it wouldn't. Tenchu games are pure stealth.
At least Sekiro is combat focused with stealth being a very minor aspect, that is much better, especially considering how amazing Sekiros combat is.
>at least we'd have multiple characters and different weapons to choose from
Not a valid argument. Having multiple characters and weapons does not inherently make a game better.
>No it wouldn't. Tenchu games are pure stealth.
They could have made it more action oriented than previous Tenchu's if they wanted it would likely be a reboot of the series at this point anyway.
>Not a valid argument. Having multiple characters and weapons does not inherently make a game better.
Maybe but it sure as hell more interesting and lets be honest here they didn't want to make it Tenchu because they wanted to recycle too much Souls elements like bonfires and the combat system because they're lazy as fuck.
>Maybe but it sure as hell more interesting and lets be honest here they didn't want to make it Tenchu because they wanted to recycle too much Souls elements like bonfires and the combat system because they're lazy as fuck.
No, you're actually just wrong about the whole idea of it ever being a Tenchu reboot in the first place. They outright said in interviews that it started as a completely original world idea from Miyazaki, never a Tenchu game. It just takes some inspiration from Tenchu. Not the same thing.
Also
>same combat system
Oh I didn't realize you were just one of the retards again. Combat is not similar to Souls in any way at all. I hope you're not being serious. Considering the combat is completely different in every way.
>Oh I didn't realize you were just one of the retards again.
Its literally Souls combat except everything is centered around parrying now, enemies still basically act the same as they do in a typical Souls game except they autoblock everything now until you break their poise.
Yes, it actually looks like a good, original game with unique ideas like Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne.
>Its literally Souls combat
It literally is not.
>except everything is centered around parrying now
Wrong.
>enemies still basically act the same as they do in a typical Souls game except they autoblock everything now until you break their poise
Wrong.
Nice conversation, but I have no interest in talking further with a compulsive liar.
>no rpg system
Wrong, 3 different skill trees, experience after you kill enemies to obtain skill points to invest into your skill trees
>endless stamina / endless dodging
I don't understand why people are this retarded. There's posture now, posture management. Dodging wont get you far, it's not like souls, you have to engage in deflects and managing posture becomes the main focus.
>cringe character
Fair
>gay ass japanese yokai bullshit and castles yet again
Fair
>doesn't do anything better than dark souls
We do not know yet, we have not played the game.
>They literally said months ago in interviews that it has similar non-linear world design to DS1.
remember, this is literally what they said half a year before ds3 came out
>A couple main weapons and who knows how many off-hand weapons, and they all have way more depth than any weapon in Souls
won't know for sure till the game is out but in the accumulated footage i have seen and from the trailers, i have my doubts.
>No one cares about PvP.
i do, which is why i said i am not that hype for it.
Also do you even understand what PvE means? Do you? You new or something?
When people are talking about pve in a fromsoft title, this also includes the online and multiplayer features of pve, like summoning and invading, leaving messages, seeing other players playing pve and ect.
>PvE is a million times deeper in Sekiro than in Souls
you speak very confidently for a game that hasn't came out yet. You a shill or something?
> Literally lying
again how? feel free to reply the post that you are claiming was mine you pussy.
>your little DS2 cuckboi ass
implying i liked ds2 just makes you look like desperate.
> PvP faggots that no one cares about. No one ever cared about the multiplayer.
>I have played every one of them since 2009, when I played Demon's Souls as it released.
it must have sucked getting your shit kicked in by other players for ten years.
>play offline (selected)
LOL SPEEDREADER BTFO GET OUTTA HERE
I'm actually looking forward to getting totally baited in thinking this is a generic samurai Edo era game, when in reality it's a spooky evil spirit yokai game
I'm never "hype" for children's toys
>Juzou the Drunkard
>Equivalent of NPC invader
Juzou the Drunkard literally has more in depth arena, moveset and combat situation than most DkS 1, 2 bosses and is equal to early DkS 3 bosses.
>Your dodges have no i-frames
Day one buy for me then.
>that is much better
I would have preferred a stealth focus. Japan hasn’t made a good stealth game since Shinobido, so it would have been a good way to revive the genre there.
>Weapons in Sekiro have like 100 times more depth
I'm with you on most of your arguments, but this is just fromdrone fagging.
>remember, this is literally what they said half a year before ds3 came out
Nice lie, they never said anything of the sort about DS3. Besides DS3 was not made by Miyazaki.
>won't know for sure
Know what? We at least do know that the combat has way more depth than Souls combat, which is just dodge-R1-dodge-R1 repeatedly.
>i do, which is why i said i am not that hype for it
Yes and you belong to a tiny and insignificant minority that is not important. You make it sound like lack of PvP is a huge deal when literally almost no one at all cares.
>When people are talking about pve in a fromsoft title, this also includes the online and multiplayer features of pve, like summoning and invading, leaving messages
None of that is PvE. So you really don't understand what PvE means. It stands for Player versus Environment. Player vs non-player content. Anything related to other players is multiplayer, NOT PvE.
>you speak very confidently for a game that hasn't came out yet
I have a pair of eyes, yes. I can see it has better combat and other PvE aspects.
>again how?
You made several claims that were incorrect.
>implying i liked ds2 just makes you look like desperate
That is on average who PvP fags are, people who unironically think DS2 is good.
>it must have sucked getting your shit kicked in by other players for ten years.
I was actually very good at the PvP, and played over 700 hours of invasions alone in DS1. But it's still insignificant side content that does not matter at all, and they really ruined it in DS2 and DS3 by making it focused around the dueling, which was always garbage compared to invasions.
PvPfags are delusional autists.
I'm looking forward to learning about the new world crafted by Miyazaki
Not really? Your katana has 3 entire talent trees worth of moves you unlock for it, you can customize combos for it, you have way more attacks with it already at start than any weapon in Dark Souls 3 - and then you also learn new combat styles by finding Esoteric Texts.
Pretty obvious the weapon has far more depth to it than weapons in Souls games.
I'm not that into stealth anymore, liked it a long time ago but stealth is just too easy because it always ends up revolving around abusing the AI.
At least it's possible for a combat heavy game to be really hard.
It'd be actually nice if it didn't have any rpg progression but today's audience demands the instant gratification of seeing their numbers go up.
Actually it DOES work more like action game in regard of things like vitality and damage output.
You collect beads and memories from mini-bosses and bosses respectively, and use those to increase those parameters. Like heart containers in Zelda etc.
I just wouldn't say that killing enemies for exp, and then, after you reach certain exp thresholds, gain points you can in turn spend to improve your character, isn't leveling up.
But I also wouldn't say that leveling up mechanic is exclusive to RPGs.
>Yes and you belong to a tiny and insignificant minority that is not important. You make it sound like lack of PvP is a huge deal when literally almost no one at all cares.
well we will see how well the game sells and see if the minority i am a part of makes any sort of dent i guess. Pretty sure people are gonna beat the game once or twice and never come back
>None of that is PvE
are you seriously suggesting co-op is not pve in souls? you really are new.
you fucking retard
>I have a pair of eyes
so why do we even need to play a game when we could just use our eyes to tell if it plays well. You fucking retard
>You made several claims that were incorrect.
oh but what happen to the accusations that i was the same lying butthurt poster?
You fucking retard
>No one cares about PvP.
>I was actually very good at the PvP, and played over 700 hours of invasions alone
>PvPfags are delusional autists.
>invasions
>player vs player content
>pvp
you fucking retard.
>Besides DS3 was not made by Miyazaki.
>But I also wouldn't say that leveling up mechanic is exclusive to RPGs.
Excellent point. It's leveling up, but that doesn't make it an RPG. I guess it's similar to how you can level up your ranking in a multiplayer shooter, but that doesn't make the shooter an RPG.
Early leaks WHEN?
The game was rushed as fuck, they had to opt for recycling the characters and removing poise and what-not. That's the first strike for Miyazaki desu.
5 hours.
he took the helm
A little
>Pretty sure people are gonna beat the game once or twice and never come back
How is that relevant to sales? You just described every single player game ever. Most people only complete single player games once.
That has nothing to do with how well a game sells, since most people never had any intention of replaying any game to begin with.
>are you seriously suggesting co-op is not pve in souls? you really are new.
Is that a joke? It's literally not PvE. Co-op is multiplayer.
You're such a butthurt retard lmao
Miyazaki literally did nothing else for DS3 than three areas, read interviews niggas. Tanimura was the main director.
Calm down!
What the fuck? There's an anime adaptation of TSF Monogatari?
not him but pve can also be (players versus environment)
yes
Looks fun.
>Is that a joke? It's literally not PvE. Co-op is multiplayer.
yeah and it's good
>less than a week until release
>no arab or south american has gotten the game yet
Activision is keeping the game under wraps pretty well. Which is nice, also btfoing journos by not sending out review copies.
>Activision is keeping the game under wraps pretty well.
Retailers breaking the street date isn't something they can stop, after the shipment is done.
And that's how French sandniggers get their copies early.
Yes
>tenchu
Sekiro doesn't really have anything to do with tenchu
They literally did what user greentexted, though.
Incorrect. It actually never started as a Tenchu remake, they literally say this in the GameInformer interviews. It's fake news.
Meh sort of, I'll wait until it hits $30 which should be pretty soon after. Absolutely not worth full price since FROM didn't put full effort.
Well not as a remake, but as a sequel: s.famitsu.com
So that's why there's only like 4 videos on Youtube all with the same content.
Spicy!
Yeah day 1 pirate
>youtube
Leakers don't upload video on youtube, genius.
They stream it on smaller services that don't block shit as fast. And it happens once they get their early copies. I didn't say they already have them this very moment.
>>no rpg system
>False. It has leveling.
spiderman had leveling, that doesn't mean it was an rpg as well
I just hope it's not bullshit hard, like DaS2 and that there's at least one unlockable outfit or maybe special reward for each ending
Not that either. As I said, they literally say in the GameInformer interview that it started as Sekiro.
DaS2 is rather easy. You probably just didn't understand ADP or stability (both are poorly explained).
>I just hope it's not bullshit hard, like DaS2
It kiiinda is, in the sense that there are large groups of enemies everywhere. But this time you have stealth to decrease the amount of enemies before you engage, and prosthetic tools, to help you quickly deal with some of them.
The combat and movement looks TERRIBLE. Look at this shit:
youtube.com
When he moves and strafes, it's like he's gliding along the ground. They didn't even bother to put any effort into it. The combat is the same slow, boring combat of Souls but without any of its RPG charms. You call this an action game? I'd rather just keep playing DMC, which has far superior combat.
Seriously, the combat looks Witcher 3 level, with a few added CINEMATIC take-downs and finishers and whatnot. This looks exactly like your average low-quality, normie appealing AAA Sony game. Why is this shit on PC? I don't think it will sell well. If the only thing it has going for it is the combat, you know, being an action game, and the combat is dull, why the fuck would I play?
Your entire post can be countered with another clip: youtube.com
The combat and movements look FANTASTIC.
>The combat is the same slow, boring combat of Souls
No it isn't, the person in your video just fucking sucks at the game. Watch the one I linked, the combat is insanely fast paced. Just look at the 10:05 mark and after for example, the fight against those ninjas.
To claim the combat is slow like Souls combat is an outright lie. You are a liar.
>Why is this shit on PC? I don't think it will sell well.
You can think cows can fly all you want, but the reality is that this game will be a huge success due to how clearly god tier the combat is.
I think it will be a good game, but my primary reason to buy Souls games at launch is to have a lead on the multiplayer aspects before everything becomes meta, Sekiro has none so why bother? Also I don't want to give Activision money when they lay people off at a time when they post record profits.
Why the fuck do you care about Activision laying off some useless code monkey nu-males? Such a weird complaint
>le cinematic takedowns
Is this all that shitposters have?
By that logic, ripostes, backstabs, and viscerals are all QTE cinematic takedowns.
Because I've worked in a factory that laid people off while they also were posting record profits, it's a scummy business practice, not that a jobless piece of shit like yourself would understand.
Everyone working at Activision is scum anyway, good riddance
>implying I don’t have a job because I’m not some factory rat
Lmao. Get an education and a real job instead of whining like the useless maggot you are.
It won’t be, it’ll be 1/3 of the length of Dark Souls. I’m really excited for Sekiro, buying it day 1 cause of the gameplay, but let’s not kid ourselves, it’ll have more in common with Ninja Gaiden (but without dial a combo) than with Dark Souls at the end of the day.
I"ve watched essentially every single info video there is on this game and here are a few things that I've "dug up" that aren't that easy to find.
Spoilers ahead
>The dragon rot kills effected NPCs rather quickly and once dead, they're perma gone
>The giant carp fishes act as this game's crystal lizards and drop carp scales that can be used for rare item trading
>The item that resets all of the Dragon Rot only costs 1 scale
>Enemies with multiple healthbars regain their health if you disengage too far.
>HIt and run tactics are borderline broken and can, should? be abused to make the game extremely easy (see how the only person that defeated the bandit boss did so by abusing this mechanic)
They already said in an interview that it's on the upper end of their most recent games in terms of length. A lot of focus probably went into crafting the world since they don't have to balance so much stuff around a couple hundred different weapons and armor.
Miyazaki also said to that the focus was on exploration with lots of hidden areas and secret bosses. I'm cautiously optimistic that this will surpass the world of DS1 but even if it's only half as good that it'll still be better than most other game worlds out there.
Hit and run to pick off the gang one by one. Slowly. Then grabbing the help from the other samurai. And finally beating The Drunkard two on one. Abuse is kind of far as is extremely easy which isn't known.
>Enemies with multiple healthbars regain their health if you disengage too far.
>HIt and run tactics are borderline broken and can, should? be abused to make the game extremely easy (see how the only person that defeated the bandit boss did so by abusing this mechanic)
Don't these two points contradict each other?
First refers to mini bosses and harder enemies that don't respawn.
2nd refers to 1 hit killing low tier enemies 1 hit ko
But it said that stealth killing one enemy and then stealth killing the next one can't be done because it breaks stealth
You have to kill one enemy, go hide for 5 minutes, then kill the next one. Easy.
>The dragon rot kills effected NPCs rather quickly and once dead, they're perma gone
Source on that?
I am excited. I like video games.
Yea, in the Juzo the Drunkard boss fight (the fat sumo fuck that imbues his sword with his poisonous vomit from the early trailers), he surrounded by trash mobs. They seem to be really fucking annoying, but a way to approach it is to stealth kill all of them before going face to face with the miniboss.
Me too fren
That's kinda how I felt stealth in this game would work anyway when they first said it would be have some small stealth elements.
Just enough to go in, observe the environment and take out a few trash mobs so you're not fighting a mini boss with 10 other enemies surrounding you.
I am. I would be more hyped if I wasn't a poor fuck that can't buy games on release.
Unless you're some shoe cobbler in a third world country there's no excuse. I'm poor as fuck and have my money ready. Learn to save.
>b-but user I have 3 kids and make 30 cents an hour
NO EXCUSES!
I WANT RESPAWNING MINIS!
>literal teleports behind you shinobi art
You bet your sweet ass I'm hype.
i'm in a state of preorder hype
I am alpha
13 hours to beat last boss.
Yes I'm hype.
No
RPG systems are a form of casualization, anyway. Are you not aware of that?
>no early review copies
That shit drives me to get hype more than anything.
this I want to nuthin personnel samurai and monks
I hope that shit exist too. Teleporting monks/samurai boss fights sound fucking great.
Pre-load has been activated on PS4 and X1.
Seriously? How bad is the throttling on PSN/XBL if they do it THAT early?
PSN is pretty awful, maxes out at maybe 15% of my down speed. Xbox is usually fine for me at least.
No source then.
So much for "every single info video there is".
Yes indeed, I was surprised to see pre-load activated on PSN and XBL. But, good for us.
For reference... Download size for PSN and XBL is around 9.906 GB and 12.5 GB respectively.
you are all ficking stupid there are more than 3 skill trees since you obtain the skill trees through text who knows how many there are so far there has been five
Get ready for shitposters to start claiming the "snoy" version is somehow shorter cause the launcher size is smaller
Downgrade confirmed.
>warping
it's dead jim
I was hesitant to post the download size in fear of this happening.
In my humble opionion, this is only pre-load, once it gets unpacked on release day they will take up more than their current size.
This is only my opinion and not based on any sources or facts, maybe the only reason X1 is larger is due to the textures for the X1X version specifically.
>it has leveling so its an rpg
god damn call of duty is an rpg then? kys,
it was and it did, don't believe trannies on 4chung
>they went around the issue with generic PR speak so it didn't happen
what a gullible fucking retard holy shit
If you hadn't someone else would have.
And that just goes to show how much size textures and shit take up. That's fucking 3gigs right there.
If the game is around 25 gigs like steam suggests and thinking about all the space they've saved not having to do all the different weapon and armor skins, I think the people worried about game length can rest easy.
it's 7 years old you fuckin zoomer
>The combat is the same slow, boring combat of Souls but without any of its RPG charms.
>Playing Dark Souls for its RPG elements
Everyone that played Dark Souls did it for the hyped up difficulty or to twink mode like faggots in PvP. Don't give me any of this shit about dressing up and larping as a selling point of Dark Souls. Shit, PvP wasn't either. Autistic motherfuckers.
its good af but they only do the first 2 chapters sadly nothing past 3 is animated
Indeed, 3 gigs is really nothing and in my opinion, downlod size does not correlate at all with game length. There is no need to create a fearmongering situation.
Let's keep in mind, this is only pre-load, 3 gigs difference can turn into anything on release day. Heck, they can be exactly the same size on release. We don't know yet. I just wanted to share the download size for the gamers who want to start pre-loading the game like I am currently doing.
crack when =[
>asking why is it bad that it's on PC
They're mad that it won't be caged to the PS4's shit hardware.
>ps4's shit hardware
>implying xbox compares to the PC master race
Very hyped. Souls babies can fuck off forever.
no denuvo so day 1
Dex users all over the shop...
oh really i didnt know that good shit
What's this mean?
Big gay
>
>Big gay
what he said
it has more cutscenes than other Souls games, though.
What’s the full size of the pre-load on PS4?
>no in-game pre-order bonuses
>no microtransactions
>no loot boxes
>no Denuvo
>Activision will ruin this game!
>I'm pirating they won't get my money!
>first game I preorder in years
>there ist no bonus or fucking anything
The Activision method is to not have microtransactions at launch so reviews and early sales aren’t affected by it, then, after a month, they put the system in (see: Call fo Duty)
What could they even implement? Costumes? Dragonrot cure for npcs?
Bosses. Consumables.
From the Gameinformer interviews
>However, Kitao says the number of cutscenes in Sekiro won’t be out of line with the company’s past work, and that they won’t have huge info dumps, either. “We want users to pick up on these subtle hints through the cutscenes, through the dialogue, as well."
I doubt there will be that much more and if they're in-engine and not cg, the space they take up won't be so much to take up a significant amount of space.
>Bosses
Who cares about the console version?
There are only 3 confirmed bosses, user.
SEVEN DAYS
No.
i don't like Dark souls formula.
6 for some of us, friend
You mean 1 boss and 2 normal enemies with more health.
Source on more than 1 main hand weapon? I thought it was the katana only.
It's so close I need it
You're in luck user it's doesn't play like Dark Souls!
>Combat is not similar to Souls in any way at all.
The people who've played it have described the game, specifically the combat, as being like Souls, more like Bloodborne. It's not exactly the same, no, but it's closer to them than other games, and that's all it needs to be for people to make the comparison.
Lobos said he felt like dodging/jumping had i-frames. Not as much as in Souls, but still. I haven't seen a source confirming there aren't. It doesn't actually matter anyways. Your dash is like the dash in Bloodborne, it's so fast and you go so far that it doesn't even need i-frames.
He had next-to-no involvement in this game. He made one NPC.
>having an "RPG system" means the game is an RPG
I see, so Guild Wars 2 is a platformer and Dark Souls is a first-person shooter. What? It has those.
because of the hype im replaying revengeance because its also a sword game where you dont block and it makes me so angry
i hope sekiros parry is at least a separate button
Why is the filesize like 13 gigs?
I get graphics don't mean everything but they're going for realism, those textures are going to look like fucking ass at any resolution above 1080p
>He made one NPC
Was it Patches?
>lobos
No, not in the slightest.
It looks like the same old shit, but marginally flashier. It looks kind of cool, but that's it.
No. He was asked awhile ago if Patches was in the game and he said no, he wasn't involved in the writing. He just said he worked on one "Souls-like" NPC who's a guy in a barrel, and the only thing sticking out is his arm, and you can trade stuff to him or something. He's hidden on some little island.
Because Lobos said it it's not true?
That's the compressed installer. It's gonna be closer to around ~20-25. Steam is 25 and that probably includes 4K textures as will the Xbone X most likely.
> lobos
Why the fuck did the game preload a week in advance on psn? Just saw it. Kind of weird. Also kek at a patch note already saying "balance changes."
wait really? Kek
Is any of this confirmed or just speculation?
Oh for fuck sake From.
I rarely buy digital but isn't a week early pre-load pretty standard?
So how are the chances they nerf some bosses later? I remember they used to nerfed Gundyr champ
Is there something wrong with this Lobos guy? He's one of the few people who've played the recent demo and he's the only one who beat the dude who spits poison on his sword. Most people's videos are just them repeating shit we already know and saying, "Yeah, I'm hyped."
This is confirmed mate. Look it up.
I've never preordered a game on Steam before. How does preload work? Will it notify me when it's ready? Does it let me install the whole thing beforehand or just part? I ask because I work overnight and it'd be nice to have it ready when I get back.
this and dmcv are the only games that iam for this year so yeah pretty much
I did, all I could find was Steam's file size at 25gb. No mention of 4k textures.
>Lobos
You get the whole game sans the actual exe i think
>the only one who beat the dude who spits poison on his sword.
That's because he's the only guy who got access to this stage
Typically it's like two days before release.
No more people played it but couldn't beat it. Some came close tho.
Do you have a link?
You could just pirate it because it's a singleplayer game.
It's literally all i think. Usually weeks go by without me even noticing but now i'm so conscious of the passage of time that even a day feels like eternity.
>no Denuvo
nice, day 0 pirate
Forgive the source

I probably can't run it so no not really, nor have I even looked at much about it. I want to build a new PC anyway so I'm sure I'll eventually buy it, it just might be a while, and I'm fine with that, I end up playing a lot of games "late" and still really enjoy them.
