Some might find it corny, but when you are invested in the characters, it is the best writing I've seen since Chrono Trigger.

Definitely not. There is a tie-in with the earlier games, but it is mostly an entirely new experience.

I am serious, so much so that I get why my posts seem ironic. They really aren't, and I think there is a lot we can learn from the game.
For example, Rex is so pure of heart and selfless that he puts his friends before himself. Some think that is unrealistic, but there are many people like that, and the few I've known have enjoyed life more than anyone else. Just from being like Rex and helping others.
I basically want to have Rex's view on life.
There's easy mode and the DLC function of Custom Difficulty, so you can make the game even easier. Or stupid hard if you are into that.
It's not the game's difficulty that screws people, it's the steep learning curve of the battle system.

Rex has a few scenes where he breaks down, but he is mostly positive and joyful, even in the face of adversity. That inspires me. That is why he became Pneuma's true driver, not even Addam could do that.
I actually see Pyra like a role model for the kind of person I want to be. I want to have the warm aura that makes everyone around her like her so much. She's such a caring and kind person but isn't without her moments of playfulness and self consciousness. I know she is so obviously just designed to be something people jerk off to in terms of visuals but I really think she seems like such a lovely person and I wish I was like her.
It's not required but heavily recommended since it's not only a great game, but has a small tie-in that you'll appreciate way more with XB1 under your belt.

I agree. Pyra is as kind of a person as you would ever find. People just need to relize XC2 presents us with idyllic characters. They are role-models we should aspire to. Pyra is a 10/10, but she is humble and gentle.
