The Treehouse translation for Fates was incredibly shit. Censored and completely rewrote sections of the game for no reason, usually the results were worse than the original which already wasn't winning any awards for writing excellence. Similar thing happened to #FE.

Backlash was so bad that Nintendo restructured the way localization work now. The localizers work with the developers as the game is being made so that there isn't as much cut/rewritten/censored content between regions. This does mean that they have to change some things that would be okay in Japan due to US values, but the results have been much better lately compared to the shitshow back then.
