They definitely have a lot of problems, and for most people they're too hard to use consistently in a tourney. You could get the same or better results from a high tier character with only a fraction of the difficulty.

Richter is better than Simon due to the Olimar matchup being the one the most important one where they differ. Makes sense to put him on the list of you only put one.

I'll admit I like Richter more because of Rondo, but it's annoying seeing him be seen as the default Belmont just because he looks more anime.

There really isn’t any point to not using your favorite, unless you are fighting Olimar, Pokemon Trainer, or Ice Climbers, and even then, the match up is only a slight advantage to one.

Downsides of Pichu are starting to crop up. Just the other week, vid was posted showing how you can SDI out of Pichu's excellent back air simply by pressing up during the sound of each of the four hits.

Then there is the lightness factor. While Pichu kills earlier, being at kill percent when you hit 60% is a pain in the dick.

At lower levels of play, knowledge of tech, skill, ability to execute and play under pressure are SO VARIED at lower levels (realistically anything below the top 1% of players) that it is the major deciding factor in who wins a match.

If you're lucky, you get a random match against a person who has those exact same traits as you at lower level and you're high tier will beat the low tier. But things are WAY MORE VARIED at lower levels that tiers matter much less than skill, knowledge of tech and matchups, and one's ability to deal with pressure.

I agree that it gives people who aren't pro a false reason to not play their favourite character.

However, I will also point out a common thing that most pros are doing with their tier list. Many of them have their lowest tier being "mid tier" or just "bottom tier". There is no longer "trash" or varying levels of bottom tier.

Essentially, they're saying that you can perform relatively well with pretty much any character. There are definite top tiers that are above the rest, but there aren't really any truly shit characters anymore.

He can spam his smash attacks almost willingly, fsmash killing v early and dsmash killing you if you don't tech. His fsmash can even be "almost" unpunishable on shield unless you have a v fast OOS option and are close to him.

His ftilt has HUGE range. For example, it outranges Snake's downtilt.

He has one of the best projectiles in the game, easily.

Has very good combo potential that do a shit ton of damage, far more than fox's damage (but doesn't have the amount of aggro that Fox does). Wolf doesn't have the best off stage options however.

Unsure. I didn't play Sm4sh, but the physics engine was much different in that game, shield was much stronger and a far better option than Ultimate.

Also, no character comes close to Brawl MK.
