Why are their no western games where the real villains are a "shadowy council of elders"?
This trope used to be very common in Japanese media but it's almost never used in western media.
Why is that Yea Forums?

>antisemetism is so quirky xD
Fuck off with your dogwhistles, incel.
cope more incel
Just a cultural thing, like the fucking evil tower that pops up in the middle of a city in a lot of Japanese games.
deux ex ya fuckin knob
I know I've seen that before, but I can't think of an example.
What is that anyway?
ILLUMINATI
Shinobi, DMC3, Panty & Stocking, and NieR: Automata all come to mind
Deus Ex did this.
Off the top of my head:
>DMC 3
>DMC 5
>Persona 3
>Jackie Chan
I don’t know what the deal with it is, though.
Because western media is ran by a shadowy council of elders.
have sex
dmc3, 5, and dragons dogma(original everfall design)
Western games like to have a central villain so you can have a big showdown at the end and make the bad guy pay for the pain and suffering he caused you and have him get his just desserts. A big cabal lessons that impact
I loved sly cooper and think they did this perfectly with it.
It's a subject you can't write about in the west because enough people are aware of the concept in their personal life. It creates controversy when written correctly. I see no reason to use this concept in the current era in the west unless you are making a game with artistic merit. Creative fortitude is unimportant (seemingly) to the types of people who work in the medium. I say this in the general sense, I'm not trying to target certain worldviews/politics
yeeks
Because the ads American government doesn't wanna out themselves
Japan clearly stole the idea from Saints Row 2
Toontown did it
this is a bait thread and makes literally no sense since that extremely vague "trope" (which isn't actually a trope which you would know if you could speak english) is invented by the united states and doesn't make any sense for it to be a japanese thing since japan literally worships shadowy councils of elders in their society
God, I miss the original Saints Row district. Going through the one in SR2 always made me salty.
FUCK YOU DANE
Assassins creed is all about this you idiot
