trying out elex and playing some warband with a blanket and some food. pretty cold outside even tho its summer and it rained yesterday so pretty comfy
Do you like Elex? I think it’s janky combat wise but everything else is pretty good.
I like gaming but I'm afraid to keep playing because most gamers seem to lose their hair at a young age.
Don’t stress it man, and also don’t play shit to keep up with people.
playing startropics currently. it lined up perfectly with my mom visiting so we're reliving my childhood and she's backseating it. real fucking cozy.
Been playing Dying Light. This game is much longer than I thought; just entered the next city area.
It’s like Zelda right?
not exactly, it has some elements in common, you explore a large map and deo into dungeons, you also have the same health bar and find hearts across the map but the gameplay is totally different. give it a try, it's a gem
Playing Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and San Andreas
Remembering my teens with these two on the PS2, they were two of the very small collection of PS2 games I owned myself, playing them now on PS4 and they're both fantastic.
Good times.
Rockstar still hasn’t topped SA imo
Would like to talk about nice things, but there are infinitely more bad things outweighing them.
Take for example Beyond Good & Evil 2 and how dumbed down it turned out to be.
Always online action garbage, multiplayer-only, and nothing in common with the first game.
To be fair the first wasn’t that great either.
Been playing GOW, but lost intereet in killing the valkiries. Don't know what to play now. Been thinking mhw or rdr2.
I really liked hzd, the uncharted saga, and deux ex.
But the second one was promising before all the microtransaction garbage started.
Here are the devs literally lying about there being an offline mode a little over a year ago. youtu.be
MHW is much better than RDR2
I don't know what to play after RDR 2. I got FZero Gx yesterday, Madworld, Twilight Princess, No More Heroes 2, Metroid Prime, House of The Dead Overkill, Mario Galaxy, and Wario Land Shake It in my backlog. RDR 2 was so good I just don't know what to play now. Been thinking about playing Red Steel 2 because I want a western theme game.
Metroid Prime, TP, or Mario Galaxy
Playing KH1 and 2 for the first time since I've heard 2FM's combat is god tier.
Just beat KH1 and starting 2
I didn’t like 1, 2 is a pretty fun game.
I've heard it gets pretty boring (mhw) due to the farming and repetitiveness of the game.
How many hours would one get from mhw before getting tired of it?
Yeah 1 was really frustrating and its design was reminiscent of older JRPGs. It didn't help that I forced myself to do Proud mode since all of my friends kept recommending that.
I'm only at Land of Dragons but 2 is way better already.
Your friends were trolling you, KH1 is hard enough due to the awful camera and floaty ass controls.
Depends, if you’ve played the older games you may get bored. But it was the first one I liked so I put about 30-40 hours into it but I don’t stick with games too long.
Bough a few 'unknown' PS2 titles a few months ago and finally got around to playing one. Started off with Genji. So far, it's a pretty simple hack n' slash, but it plays solidly enough (par one boss fight so far) and I've been enjoying my time with it. The graphics are really nice, especially the CG cutscenes. The music is generic 'yoooooo' jap filler, but it suits the game obviously.
I'm definitely a huge fan of platfomers and beat 'em ups. I don't think I'll ever get tired of playing either of those genres. If someone could recommend me some good 2D beat 'em ups, maybe that went on the radar (anything besides PC) that would be awesome.
you guys are crazy. KH1 is a fucking classic to play. i don't know why 2 gets so much hype.
Yeah I figured. I got decently far that I didn't want to quit though but it made Hollow Bastion and End of the World huge fucking chores.
Also Alantica was fucking awful and I ended up bailing on it in favor of Halloween Town.
Yeah that's gonna be a hell no.
I am playing Ace Combat 7. It's fun. Also fuck Erusians. Hate them more than Belkans.
I'm pretty shit at video games so playing Proud the first time when the last KH game I played was 358/2 back in 2009 was definitely a bad idea.
As frustrating as KH1 was at times I definitely saw the appeal of it. The first few hours were pretty magical, especially Traverse Town.
What other PS2 games did you get?
I can see why it would be frustrating then. KH1 has that real fucking cozy feel and everything just feels right, movement included, for the surrounding worlds.
Genji
Bujingai
Extermination
Demon Stone
Nanobreaker
note: i'm sure plenty of people have played these games, they just simply weren't advertised or talked about around my area at the time of release.
They’re pretty obscure overall but I’ve heard of like 3 of them. I’m interested in extermination since I like survival horror.
Got 2 grindy trophies left until Platinum for KH3, this was the most I've ever anticipated a game before so I feel a little lost on where to go next. Waiting for Sekiro next Friday but I still need more suggestions for when that's over. What are some good action RPGs? Or JRPGs. I love both, I've played FF7, 10, X2, and 15. Also DQ8 and 11, also every other Kingdom Hearts game. Really liked Nier and also love the soulsborne series. Based on these games (which are just some of my favorites, I'm not limiting myself to just games like these), what would you anons recommend? Open to other genres as well.
Extermination, from what I played, was really damn good. I think I died without saving at one point and it turned me off from the game since it was so far in-between. I'll give it another go sometime.
Bought a 360 the other day, what good single player games should I get?
Already got FM4, Skate 3, Fable 2, Hitman Absolution amd Halo 4. Not really into weeb games or CoD.
Pic unrelated except for max comfy.
what systems do you have or can emulate? If you're looking for a fun yet quirky turn based RPG you should pick up Okage.
Sly Cooper sounds right for you friend. Give it a go, if you like the first one play the others. If not just stop there, you're not gonna get anything better from the sequels. It's more of the same.
Halo Reach, Condemned, Alan Wake
Try Nier:Automata if you haven't already
playing quake live and im not good
I fucking love the Sly Cooper series user. Thanks for the suggestion though. The first game is an absolute blast and I try to give it a playthrough at least once a year.
Threads of Fate is fantastic. Everyone should play this game.
I know the director of FromSoft has a mild case of ADD, but come on, Dark Souls and Bloodborne was so good, why must you deviate from it?
I understand pressures and all but damn it, man. Really? A game with NO customization and a sub-par "variety of skill choices?" Oh, but it's okay because the lore is going to be ebin, though. That's all that matters.
Fuck you, Miyazaki.
And fuck Activision for thinking it as okay to sponsor this bullshit.
Dont have much in the way of emulation, the only PC I have access to right now is busted as fuck and cant run anything more complex than media player. I mainly play on PS4, but I also have the SNES classic which I'm willing to hack and load roms onto. Also have a PS1 (but I need a new power cable for it), a gamecube, and an xbox 360
I'm pissed they havent ported it to ps4 yet. I would pay top dollar for all the Sly games in one download on PSN
Sekiro is not a fucking action rpg. fuck this game. im so ANGRY, right now
How's Xenogears? I've been meaning to play it since it's the last Xeno game I've yet to play and I know a lot of people praise its story.
I loved both Xenoblades and Xenosaga was great, even if Saga 2 was pretty bad.
user just go into it with tempered expectations, everyone expected Bloodborne to suck because it was deviating from Dark Souls but it was godlike. If anything give it a fair go out of respect for the Soulsborne games.
I didnt say it was I'm just looking forward to that next. Even if it's not as good as Soulsborne it looks like itll at least be entertaining. Samurais are cool and the enemies look interesting.
Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Vesperia, Threads of Fate and Infinite Undiscovery (however I might be the only person who likes this game) are all good choices if you haven't played them.
Oh, definitely give Dragon Valor a go if you can.
Totally agree. I'm also waiting for a sequel and don't care what people say, looking forward to the show.
I long for something to satisfy the halo itch until MCC comes out, so naturally I turn to Bungie. Is Destiny 2 worth it? Heard the worst things and the best praises simultaneously.
Finally got my hands on a PS4, my buddy even left Bloodborne downloaded on it for me. Loved it, but after beating it once I'm forcing myself to stop playing to cleanse my pallet for Sekiro. Beyond hyped for that.
Under no circumstances should anybody join a Yea Forums sponsored Discord.
I really hope the show gets the proper attention from producers/publishers. If we get an underwhelming kids show I'm gonna be pissed.
It’s really not a bad discord, we even have separate channels to separate out the garbage and we organize game sessions.
For now. Just wait, user.
We actually ban cancerous assholes. We banned a goreposter who wouldn’t stop.
All I really care about is that all the voice actors are coming back. I haven't read too much into the show (out of fear of cancellation) but please tell me what I need to hear.
Xenogears is a treat if you really enjoyed Xenoblade 1 and 2, despite its somewhat lacking gameplay. Go for it.
its dirt cheap and the gunplay is close. But you're going to spend a lot of that time grinding activities, obsessing over armor/weapons, and complaining about the fact that it's like a Halo skinny. No difference between energy/ballistic, grenades are annoying compared, supers are bullshit annoying.
If you've enjoyed CoD, you'll see it's a nice balance between the two.
And if you're willing to organize for a Raid, it's the best thing I've ever done in a shooter, hand's down. But I stopped playing when I got tired of being fucking shook down for money every few months. They're not nice to people who aren't on the latest DLC. Won't be a problem for you now, but it will be if you don't put down $50 in the next few months (when they release another DLC).
currently playing world of final fantasy, really cute game with a fun battle system. the main characters start out annoying but get better as the story progresses, and the mini episodes with the mainline ff characters are fun fanservice. would definitely recommend to any final fantasy fan
is romancing saga 2 worth it for $12.50?
I would just emulate it, though idk if the snes version is different
