I was thinking of Yea Forumsermin a while ago. It's current state in /vg/ is irreedeemable but maybe it's possible to start over with a brand new name and some minor changes. The concept of anonymous people drawing monsters and making them fight is too fun to leave behind.

Coming up with ideas is literally the easiest part of any endeavor.
Unless you have an engine and the patience to host tournaments, it doesn't matter how many people claim to be interested.
Also is right, because art style is an easy identifier of who's who the anonymity will eventually break down and as a result the community will degenerate into what you see in /vg/ now.

That being said, it occurred to me after making my post that the notion of there somehow being two different, competing Yea Forums mspaint cockfighting rings is very funny to me, so you should definitely go ahead with this idea.

We can try to avoid some mistakes. The first one was making a booru that allows registration since it contributed to spawning names and identities and subsequently drama bullshit that had nothing to do with Yea Forumsermin and eventually lowered thread quality to the point it was vanished to /vg/.
If someone makes a booru for anonymonsters, it has to be an archive for images and nothing else. No registration or forum discussions.

Yeah I wish I could code. Ideaguying is easy, putting those ideas to work is hard. I'll probably set up something in RPG Maker if I feel motivated.
But I have to disagree on the artstyle stuff. I can recognize a guy who drew x monster and also drew other monsters, but if I like anonymity I'm not gonna say anything about him because I don't *want* to know who he is, he's just a guy I share a hobby with.

Lets just face it. Yea Forumsermin was lighting in a bottle and its unlikely anything is just going to replace it anytime soon. Even if something new replaces it, chances are people from Yea Forumsermin might join in and will probably just get noticed and shitposted on sight. If that doesn't happen, its still going to end up the same way as Yea Forumsermin did anyways.
