Do you think we're getting a monster hunter Rep in smash ultimate?

Do you think we're getting a monster hunter Rep in smash ultimate?
>Rathalos is a boss.
>This month is the 15th anniversary of the franchise.
>I really want to play as a hunter with several weapons.
Sorry for bad English i'm a taco eater, poncho wearing mexican.

>Monster Hunter
>Nintendo
Just let it go dude.

Doubt it but they're my second requested character next to Travis. I got lucky with Bayonetta in 4 so I'm hoping either or will be in it.

A palico would be nice too

Why do you people always want some new character in smash?
Why can't you ask them to fucking fix smash or their trash ass online service instead?

Realistically, what weapon do you think the monster hunter rep would use? I can see either sword and shield, or great sword.
I could also see a felyne, which would be great.

>Asking Nintendo to fix their shit online
They will never fix the online. I think Nintendo is physically incapable of being close to modern standards when it comes to online gaming. The mere existence of friend codes should clue you in on that fact.

Insect glaive for aerials, melee weapons for smash attacks, shock trap for down b, greatsword for neutral b, bowgun with sticky ammo for side b. I don't know.

This is my one and only wish for a character

Greatsword supplemented with the hunting knife. The gimmick, aside from having a fuckhuge weapon that needs to be sheathed in order to move around, would be the use of items like bombs and traps. They'd be a very technical character that requires A LOT of set up and reads to use properly. Or, you know, wildly throwing out smash attacks.

I would literally be happy with anything
>Monster Hunter themselves
>Palico
>Rajang
>Yian Garuga
>Deviljho
>Tigrex

Why are so many westerners hung up on having a generic nameless hunter when even the creators and japanese fans know that the monsters have and always will be the true stars of the series? Having Rathalos should be more than enough.

People want characters in Smash to play as them, user. It's why people were still campaigning for Ridley to be a fighter even though he was in every Smash game in some form, and why there's a lot of outcry when a popular character gets made an AT.

Hunters have very Unique animations, armors are very different from each others And could be very cool alts.

How would you feel about Rajang then? He's about the size of Donkey Kong, so his size is a non issue for him.

>explosive damage output and KOs obscenely early
>very fast and has fast faller physics
>very strong projectiles
>dies super early because Rajang is a glass cannon in MH while also having a big hitbox and a fast faller

I think a palico or a hunter would be more iconic

Palico, sure, but the hunters aren't anywhere near as iconic as the monsters themselves.

This month when they talk about the new MH switch game. dur

They should go full joke mode and have either a palico, great jaggi, or ykk

Sure, but honestly compared to a proper monster, getting in a hunter would be like people clamoring for a Federation soldier as a metroid rep in place of any of the more iconic characters. Nobody ever gives a fuck about the human characters in Monster Hunter, most if not nearly all of them have no proper names even. You don't see people making a big deal about an npc cameo in a Monster Hunter game, it's people hyping or dreading the return of an old monster, or being upset a monster was left out. The western obsession with this nonexistent hunter character is just strange to me.

Best possible MonHun rep coming through

I'd love to see Brachy as a DLC boss

Nobody cares about the hunters. Rathalos is a 100% acceptable rep for the series.

What more iconic is playing as a Hunter fighting a monster, and smash already has 1 part of that equation.

Unless they're going to announce a new MH game alongside it, it might not happen. Not saying that a new MH game is entirely out of the question, but considering Icebourne is coming out later this year, they'll probably focus mostly on that. MH wasn't really pivotal for Nintendo here in the west because it was very poorly marketed. Rathalos alone is a good enough rep for the franchise.
