KH1 had commericials when I was about to move.
I was leaving friends I had since childhood (I was about 10).
We all saw the KH commerical and promised to play it together.
We were all poor except one friend who had a PS2 and his parents bought him anything. So we’d all hang at his place and beat games, FF10, Dark Cloud, etc.
So I moved and my Dad made a ton more money so I was able to get a PS2 and any games I wanted. I made no new friends until years later.

When I was 6 my dad bought me OoT and would sit and read the text to me impersonating the characters voices (my favorite was his voice for the construction workers/carpenters). Because I was so young and didn't fully understand, it took me three years to complete it. When the credits finally rolled I started crying because the long journey I had been on was ending.

After 210 hours in BotW I finally faced and defeated Ganon. With the help of the Champions and with all the races and creatures In Hyrule urging me toward victory my long journey, once again, came to an end. As the credits came, so did the soul grabbing music, new and old. It wasn't until the after credit scene that I felt the emotional weight of Link and Zelda's journey coming to an end, and with it, a new beginning. It was then that I was once again moved to tears. After so many years I was pulled back to when I was a child discovering my love for The Legend of Zelda once more.

Basically the character's struggle should be relatable despite the fantastical nature of the game. Like Cloud Strife, one of the most popular characters in history, is a super soldier cutting down dragons with an iron slab. But the part you can relate to is the part where he never felt like he could measure up or where he always misses the mark of where he wants to be.He wanted to be Sephiroth to impress Tifa but he never made it. He wanted to be Zack because he looked up to him but he never made it. Even when he started pretending to be a 1st class SOLDIER the only thing he did was push the one he loved away. So when everything comes tumbling down and Cloud has a mental breakdown because his image of himself had been shattered, the player can sympathize. Because everyone who has grown up has encountered a moment in their lives where their fundamental image of themselves has been challenged and they had to find a way to cope with that.

Honestly, while DMW is pretty bad from a gameplay standpoint even if it's fun at times (like getting that Healing Wind just when you're about to die), the reflection of Zack's thoughts was a neat concept. If they ever revisit CC I hope they rework it and keep the original spirit because otherwise the ending wouldn't have the same impact.

The only thing CC needs to be a great game is a reworked DMW and actual variety in missions and enemies, the potential is there. That and a proper hard mode instead of buffing enemy HP.

Teared up at the story. Replaying it really pushed it to being my favorite mario game (in story, and some other stuff). Definitely my favorite side mario game, it's just you can't play it without feeling the creativity and the heart and soul behind it all. Even if you don't think they put enough complexity into the fighting, or are just upset it's not turn based, you are simply lying if you say the game isn't the most creative mario games with the most fleshed out world and story.
