Square Enix’s New JRPG Last Idea Won't Have any Gacha

Absolutely fucking based.

>Square Enix released new screenshots, trailers, and information of its upcoming JRPG for mobile platforms Last Idea.

>The battle system is action-based and controlled via intuitive gestures like swipe, pinch, and tap, letting the player take on battles against hordes of enemies. It’s also possible to customize the touch controls.

>One of the most interesting elements is that the title doesn’t feature a gacha, either for characters or equipment. It’s based on treasure hunting, and level-appropriate equipment will be acquired through treasure hunting gameplay.

>Over 600 types of equipment can be looted this way in Last Idea. All have random effects and stats and are identified by rarity. Your characters will be able to learn through ten skill trees associated to different weapons, armor, and magic named “ideas” acquired from characters met through the story. Three of them can be used as playable companions. You can find the trailers for two of them below.

>Multiplayer is supported with four-player co-op. It’s possible to tackle high-level dungeons with friends. Rare equipment drops can also be sold at auction to other players. Almost all of the gear in the game can be auctioned.

>The story will be told through anime cutscene and fully-voiced dialogue including famous voice actors.

>Last Idea will be released in Japan for iOS and Android in the spring of 2019.

Not having gacha isn't a selling point
so its just a typical phone jrpg where you tap the screen a bunch to watch everything around you die
there's nothing about this that makes me any bit interested in it, regardless if gacha is a factor or not

>You press buttons to watch everything around you die
What's your point?

>no gatcha
Ok, but treasure hunting will still boil down to RNG.

>smartphone
No.

>mobile
Will still be shit

I don't see you hating Vita or 3DS despite those being inferior to smartphones and tablets.

The same thing happens with most SE rpgs anyway except you press a button instead of tap a screen.

>despite those being inferior to smartphones and tablets
They are not

>tactile buttons
>inferior
even the Shita is better than a tablet.

Name one (1) good phone exclusive RPG. No ports, no emulation. I'll wait.

>It’s based on treasure hunting, and level-appropriate equipment will be acquired through treasure hunting gameplay.
>Over 600 types of equipment can be looted this way in Last Idea. All have random effects and stats and are identified by rarity.

So, you just play the treasure hunting minigame to dig up a random item with random stats. It's not a gacha though :)

Because they have better games? It's not rocket science.

Chaos Rings 3
WitchSpring 3

never played them so their shit

Your systems are dead, give it up.

They're actual game consoles with actual game controllers and no always online requirement.

>OLD BAD NEW GOOD

Don't be mad just because the dead systems are infinitely better than your tablets.

Better get this thru your head, you hating fuck:

>you pay for random prizes = gacha
>you collect random prizes in game without paying real money outside the actual prize of the game = NOT GACHA.

Learn the difference, IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE, MOTHERFUCKER!

Fuck you, Chaos Rings 3 is great.

phone games don't have depth when it comes to control in action games
you can swipe or tap or whatever, the point is that it has to be manageable on a phone screen so they tend to be really easy to make up for the lack of ways you can control your characters
like comparing the amount of buttons on a console controller, the number of different things each button can do and the different combinations of inputs to do a variety of things, but for phones games its like doing that on a genesis controller where you only have like 3 buttons to do anything, the lack of different inputs limits your options for what you can do
personally I think puzzle games and turn based games work best for phones games, you are limited to what you can do like swiping or tapping but you are still invested in what you are doing, for phone actions games you can just turn your brain off and tap mindlessly

>Switch
>dead
Meanwhile when your shitty dumbphone's game's servers die, it truly dies

That sounds a lot like Pani Pani, and that game clossed because it tried to jew its users with a shitty farming capsule system which only lasted for the first months until they went back to gacha but it was too late at this point.

>a port
>literally what
Phoneposters can't follow basic instructions.

Um sweaty, I don't remember mentioning Switch.

>I haven't heard of it so it's bad!!
Actual brainlet.

No cute funny girls no spend 100's per month fuck off with this shit

But it clearly has cute funny girls.

>oh, it looks like you're out of [resource] to go treasure hunting for 3 star of higher loot
>you could continue to use the hourly energy to continue with the regular hunts that provide 1* and 2* equipment rarities, while you wait 2 weeks to slowly gather the [resources] for another rare hunt
>or, you could go into our shop right now and buy [resources] in bundles of 5$ each. Or you could spend 80$ and get 10% bonus [resources]!

Bump

>Final Fantasy was named thus because the studio would have died then if it did not sell
>Last Idea
Hmm.
