If you skip levels, you skip out on key items to progress. These items can also be dropped by minibosses that are found throughout the level before a true boss.

There's fog gates behind mini bosses (of which there seem to be several per level) so you can't do that.

Perhaps you can do that back to the boss after you've beaten all the mini bosses though, but that seems like a huge improvement.

They won't. If you get one stealth kill to take off one of a mini bosses or bosses health bars, and then you run away to reset them and do it again, their health gets fully restored.

You could aim the 10chu hook wherever though - and you couldn't cancel it once you started
