Delayed so that the devs could work on it more to "exceed expectations" because they weren't expecting the hype

it was going to be put out as a half-baked game pretty much, but then the devs noticed that a lot of people were actually getting hyped for this, so they delayed it so that they can make it an actually good game.

I wont be surprised if they redid the whole game ever since the sekiro announcement. They know they cant compete with it.

It was announced after the Ringed City DLC was released, so around mid-2017. Fairly certain the Sekiro hate is just shitposting. The game itself looks fine, if a departure from the standard Souls formula. Still, I'm genuinely excited for Code Vein.
