I bought a vita recently but it's on the other side of the room and I don't wanna get up.
same but mines is in a case and Im too lazy to open it
I just sold it to pay my rent. It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
And wtf is a vita? Is that a SouljaBoi's PSP clone?
What's a Vita?
I don't have a Vita, but I do have a PSTV. I just started playing EDF2 as well. I hadn't used that thing in 2 or 3 years. I need to install CFW, but I'm too lazy.
Fuck the phat’s glossy finish and FUCK XENOGEARS DISC 2
I bought one back in the day. Sold it because I never played it. Had potential to be a great system but Sony dropped the ball completely. No good exclusives and just downgraded console ports and overpriced soft/hardware.
I've got the khaki model on 3.60 enso. I just play Metal Gear on it mostly.
I love my Vita!
if you haven't updated the firmware past 3.60 it's super easy to hack.
It's on 3.55. I'm just super lazy.
Ok
Love my Vita, play that damn thing every day especially after hacking it.
And yes, I love Ys!
cute
I got a Vita a few weeks ago, I've been enjoying it thoroughly.
Kino Grip
>hacked Vita, 3DS, and Switch
>all have 200gb SD cards, all almost full
I love my handhelds.
how hard is it to find a 3.6 Vita now?
I bought a Vita but then accidentally got it updated, someone said I couldn't hack it, so I sold it. Pretty sad couple of days when it happened, wish I had one
This case is a must for the vita. Not only do the back triggers make streaming ps4 games that use the back touch pads better to play, but as a case itself it's just amazing.
Is it possible to put some cfw on it to play/pirate PSX / PSP / PS vita games on it? Has the newest firmware been broken?
How does this case feel? Is it about as comfy as the default Vita?
It makes the Vita way more comfortable, for me at least. Plus the R2/L2 buttons help a ton for PS1 games.
What's it called? Where can I buy it? Is it official Sony accessory?
I just discovered a scratch on my screen. I don't understand how this could have happened, the vita goes from my desk to my hands with nothing in between. I am distraught, distraught
Its not a Sony accessory. Most Ebay sellers just list it as a generic grip. It's pretty unmistakable, its the one that has a cover on top. So just get whichever is cheapest.
What's that game?
That sucks user. My vita has a lot of light scratches on the screen but they're only visible when you shine a flashlight directly on the screen. Otherwise they're invisible.
My OCD always sees them though.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
I play mine almost daily, always update it to the latest FW, and buy all my games original. Next I'm thinking of is Stranger in Sword City. It's perfect for dungeon crawlers, too bad I'm close to running out of them.
Which model would I need to get if I want to have L2 + R2 function?
so how easy is this thing to hack and what emulators are available for it? does it run every PSP game by default if you have the rom?
Model what, Vita?
Maybe? I have no idea, I am about to pick up my first Vita tomorrow.
From what I remember. the PSP had like 2 or 3 models, I figured maybe the Vita does too. Is that not the case? Is there an accessory that adds L2 + R2 support? Sorry and thanks.
>Throught the final Vita game will be Fate Extella Link
>it's actually Utawaremono
B A S E D
There's a phat Vita and a slim Vita. Both models have grips available for them.
The post you quoted has a link to them. They'll say R2/L2 and the Vita model its for in the listing. Most grips have R2/L2 buttons though.
1000 is the phat Vita, 2000 is the slim.
Aah, ok, silly me.
So no versions of the Vita comes with L2 + R2 support from the get-go. I think I am set now, thanks.
Cool grip, time to blow some money.
Anyone got a good recommendation for a 1000 Vita? Most of the trustworthy looking things I'm seeing are for 2000.
ebay.com
Looks alright but not as good as the one the first user posted.
The glossy finish is best.
By default, the Vita uses the back touchpad for R2/L2. So games that use those buttons will work, but obviously using the touchpad is shit so the grip is just better.
I'm never a fan. Looks sexy at first but then you'll NEVER be able to clear it 100% of fingerprints.
Say what you will about its build quality, but I really liked the finish of the Switch's Joycons. Matte but with a nice smooth texture.
Looking back I'm pretty sure the one in that link is more or less the same as the one in the pic. Can anyone confirm? Don't wanna get chink'd.
>if you have the rom?
You're an idiot.
The only I bought had a generic photo like that too. It wasn't branded "top player" or anything like that.
>ebay.com
I've used a grip like this for 6 years, cause I have big hands and is really comfy. This may not be exactly the one I have, mine has a yellow colored stripe down the handles and was about 11 bucks.
Wouldn't the gloss be a nightmare for fingerprints?
I'm trying to decide whether to go for the OG vita or a matte finish slim. I think I prefer the overall look to the original, but I don't know if I want to deal with that.
I want to start using my vita again to play P4G and some PSP/PS1 classics.
Is it worth it? Do you think Sony will shut down the store soon? They already ended PS Plus support and console and cart production for it.
I posted your link, woops, here's what I meant to post
amazon.com
I got mine from this guy. It's the one that has Top Player on the case like in the pic. He's slow at shipping but it came as advertised.
I have 2 phat 1000's, one black one white. Uh, I never think about the finger prints, I rarely see them if I ever get them cause I wash my hands.
Also based in the US if you don't want to deal with buying from Chink country.
What a shitty liar. Gloss is for car-fags with bad taste, every device should be matte or pearl.
Thanks for the link user.
I'm not lying.
Washing your hands means nothing, you still secrete natural oils.
>Posts in the dark.
Bet you're cleaning them right now.
Do you own a matte pearl phone?
not if he is a reptilian
Sweet anons, I'll bite.
That one's no longer for sale by the looks of it, but it seems to be the same case.
This one looks kinda retarded but at the same time its half the price and has prime. Grips look decent as well, I can't even tell what the grips are like in the other case since its just generic stock images for them. Anyone got this case and can comment on/post pictures of the it?
Install CFW, its 200% worth it user.
vita.hacks.guide
no, that's a photo I took last year, I'm not going to take a new photo for a fag like you. Sure there can be fingerprints, but I'm not some obsessed homo about it, gre
Yes my phone is matte black.
the screen too?
user, you wouldn't happen to have the packaging for yours laying around right? I'd like to see what to look out for.
>no R2/L2 bumpers
Damn nvm I'll go with the chinkshit I guess
>tfw my battery is almost dead and barely holds a charge
>bought a new one but have been too lazy to open the vita up and put it in
Yep.
Stop being obtuse.
I've played maybe 2 games that had limited use of l2, r2, it doesn't even matter if you have those. Tearaway is one of the only games that used the back touch screen significantly.
a custom ordered matte screen protector. gloss feels like shit and looks like shit.
My crystal white Vita 1000 barely shipped today, can't wait til it arrives
Nice, hope you enjoy it. My white one was from Japan, it's the one I hacked. The analog rubber parts are messed up on top. Didn't see that when buying it, doesn't affect it, but wtf, did the nip burn them??
>they bought a vita 2000
Does the PS4 streaming functionality still work on hacked vitas?
ok i'm sorry, but PSP games are roms, and the vita has backwards compat with psp right? so I assume if it's hacked you can run PSP roms on it? are you the idiot?
Post screenshots of what you're playing fags
I bought a gen1 and gen2 vita together for 75 euros from some parents who said their kids stopped using them. They're at 3.69 so I'll wait a bit until the hack is released
wololo.net
Anyone itt see this yet? What games are you anons hoping get a similar patch?
I mainly use my Vita for PSP/PSX emulation, the later of which it'll actually be pretty good for.
Not huge, but whatever.
Enjoy it user. If you plan on installing CFW, which you ought to be, then go ahead and order an sd2vita and just a 4gb Vita memory card since you'll need one for the initial installation.
Luckily for you, I'm a slob.
Here you go.
you need to install Adrenaline and the roms need to go in a specific folder to work but yeah, the Vita has a PSP built into it so it is 100% compatible with PSP games.
Thank you. Is there a difference between this top player one and a generic one that I see on ebay?
psx games on the vita don't work that well, I thought it was supposed to have the hardware but it feels slower than an actual psx and I'm getting some audio errors.
Snes has major slowdown or major audio errors
some gba games somehow work well through the psp emulator, others don't
psp of course is good
not sure what to play on vita. Any issues with the vita version of ninja gaiden? I guess overclocking will improve performance?
>but PSP games are roms
Please stop embarrassing yourself
Probably not. They all seem to work the same and are functionally the same. Not like mine is some brand made it first or anything, at least not to my knowledge. Most people just refer to it as a generic case anyway.
Minecraft, but without any patches.
im going to buy a console in a week or so . im looking at the ps4 , ps vita or switch is the vita iconfortable to use for more then 2h ? i have big hands , is the screen and resolution good enogh to not care about ? im fully aware that it wont be like looking at a 1440p panel .
well vita is the cheapest option, just over 100 dollars for used psvita 1000, which I would recommend over the 2000.
PS4 is best bang for the buck, but isn't portable. For systems and games, the switch is the most expensive option with hardly any games that aren't available elsewhere cheaper and better, including phones.
>psx games on the vita don't work that well
Not from my experience
t. played Chrono Cross, Xenogears, and FFIX back to back on Vita and real hardware and it was virtually identical. Also played Legend of Mana but that runs fine on both so not really worth mentioning.
>Snes has major slowdown or major audio errors
Not much experience with retroarch but from what I can remember one of the cores actually works pretty well, at least when I tested Terranigma and Dragon Quest III. I believe it was snes9x 2005+ or something along those lines.
>some gba games somehow work well through the psp emulator, others don't
Gba on retroarch admittedly leaves alot to be desired, but the psp gba emulators are practically flawless from what I remember.
Vita is for ports/indies, PSP, and PSX, at least to me. If none of those interest you then yeah you're probably not gonna get much out of it.
I enjoy the Vita and find it comfortable, but honestly I'd recommend a PS4 or Switch over it. Unless you really wanna work on your PSP/PSX backlog, Vita doesn't have too much to offer.
Let me also state, so this isn't considered console warring, I own a PS4, Vita, and a Switch.
The screen on the phat vita is pretty amazing. The only thing you really need to look out for is whether the Vita has a bad mura effect or not. Sometimes when the screen is completely back, you'll see black splotches on the screen. It's a product of being OLED. If that bothers you, the slim Vita does not have this issue but it also downgrades from an OLED screen to a LCD. Still a good screen though.
>the roms
You both don't know what you're talking about.
So uh is there anywhere I could find the top for one of the sticks? I bought a used vita and didn't realize it was missing. It works fine, but it's still kinda weird to use
How hard is it to hack the Switch?
>waaaahhhh mommy they said ROM again!!
She was very upset about it too since PSP games don't run off ROMs.
go see /hbg/ in /vg/, it's hilariously simple
