The story told you itself even if poorly. He hates being called powerless because of what happened in DMC4 where he failed to save Kyrie until Dante helped out but resulted in Credo dying. Dante was also correct to call him as such.

He lived without most of his demonic power for years and years. Just like with Vergil's human side, no demonic power means your body starts to break down. Even with the massive amount of power that Sparda had, it eventually ran out and he just died.

It's obviously set it stone that they'll marry and have a family with two kids.

Bloody Palace has the cameo system as well. You can only play with another player if you find someone on the same Floor as you.

You need to abuse Royal Guard. How the game calculates style points is that it looks at your rank as a multiplier for what you are attacking. You get small gains for simply attacking and then killing is the bulk of your style points. That's why killing Urizen in the prologue gets you like 18k style points on it's own. So what you want to do with Dante in 10 is try to Royal Guard to SSS every fight and then kill as many things as you can. You're also going to need to do the same in the Urizen fight and then attack the crystal with lots of small moves. So Balrog is good for this.

Why can't they just make normal matchmaking that lets you stick with the same people?

Yup, instead it should be used in as many fights before Urizen as possible. The Judgement attack doesn't kill until the end, so you can bring things to low health, judgement and then get SSS kills on everything. Really good against the Empusa Queen, the Angelo squad and the Chaos.

aight just finished my very first play through

I fucking loved it. It was a bit on the fence with all those callbacks, but overall the game pulled em off. Vergil fight had me grinning the whole time.

Now to complete the game. Even though I liked to play all the characters (Nero being my fav) I am not a fan of having to constantly switch characters. I'll probably 100% all the missions of a specific character first before moving onto the next.

It seemed more like coincidence actually. Mundus was just then coming back from Sparda's beat down 2k years before and found out that he had a family and was no longer around. Mundus fearing that Sparda's family would be just as much a problem as Sparda himself, tired to kill them. Funny though that if he had left them alone, they probably wouldn't have done shit. Neither Vergil nor Dante knew that Sparda was a demon until after he was already gone and dead. They thought the stuff Eva told them was just stories and it wasn't until Dante and Vergil actually had to deal with demons face to face that they believed.

And that's why they are perfect or eachother, a match made in hell__

Finding out that the 'top' of the tree is really the bottom really threw me for a loop. It makes sense though and the root formations where the Vergil fights are, is just great.

It's pretty much already confirmed that Online co-op is going to be a thing. Not only because of the message, but the need for a matchmaking and room system has been found in the exe. It's just something that they want to surprise everyone with and is going to be discussed on the 19th where they will show it off. I think Vergil won't be done for another few months, but clearing the BP will give us a trailer for him.

They really should have had the first few missions into the qlipoth tree be a mix of the city being consumed by the tree. There was a little bit of that but it only lasted for the first part of the first mission, if they had expanded on that for 2 or 3 missions it would have melded the two main locations together better and given the game some more variety.

I'm disappointed at how diminished his role was. I thought it was going to be Nero loses his arm and in trying to get it back they learn of a larger conspiracy. Instead it's there's a big conspiracy and Nero has to lose an arm for it. Feels like Dante, Vergil, and even V get more prominence in the game than Nero.

Then he gets completely fucking wrecked by Urizen, he can't even land a hit on the guy, he's barely a blip on his radar. Imagine how powerless he felt in that moment, not having the strength he once relied on, having lost Dante's precious gift, getting his ass completely ruined twice in a row, being totally unable to help Dante even slightly (just like he was unable to help Credo), and at his lowest point where he feels the weakest and most vulnerable he's ever felt, the only living mentor figure in his life tells him to run away like a bitch because he's completely useless.

That's why Nero got so butthurt about being called dead weight.

Yup, I think that the style system was built with Nero more in mind. Dante can cheese it easily. Though I would think that mission will be easier to S rank on SoS since it will have better shit then just a few empusa for the first few rooms before giving you a couple waves of Angelo and Chaos. Bigger enemies giving more style points became really apparent for me when the single encounter with a Fury in mission 12 gave me 5k points for a shitty A performance.

Just finished the game today. Here are some thoughts in no relevant order:

>I am hard wired to enjoy that the final fight is against Vergil, and to enjoy seeing Vergil again, so even though I loved it I understand why some people think the finale is underwhelming.
>Nero has just about too many mechanics to fit comfortably onto the controller, and I mean after you've remapped it yourself. If you could choose between Devil Arms or his demon arm instead of getting both, this would fix the issue entirely.
>It's a shame that Vergil's nightmares were hinted to be looking for redemption, and therefore hinting to be demons who wanted to be good, and then just die. Hopefully our bird will somehow return to do good in a later game.
>Royal Guard feels easier to use than ever. I don't remember if being able to block with poor timing and take no damage anyway, at the expense of DT, was always a mechanic but it makes RG far too forgiving. I finished Vergil by taking off about a fifth of his health in one hit with a royal counter or whatever it's called where you release at the moment you would have been hit.
>V seems like a story element they came up with first, and a gameplay element they had to intergrate second. He is SSS for free and doesn't feel like a playable character from whatever you'd call this genre. Given how terribly frail he is storywise, I suspect he was once supposed to be about avoiding damage while his pets fought because he got killed in one or two hits, and that the player was required to pick when to make yourself vulnerable finishing off demons carefully, but that they removed this because playtesters would have found it too hard.

I got it today only after beating both credits sequences. Kill the Judecca with Nero and Nico will say something like way to go kid, you make my creations look good, and get more kills than Vergil and Dante will taunt Vergil about it. I've read that others have got the EX colour after completing other missions so maybe there are more requirements, but beating both credits sequences is definitely tied to it.

Just equip gerb's well it goes Berserk. Its the same way I dealt with dodging Vergil with Nero on SoS since infinite DT is no longer a thing. You're either too high or it won't be able to track in time. Then you shoot it with charge busters until it goes down or settles down.

I found it more annoying that when it reaches from a teleport my buster shot would track that and miss well I wanted to hit the main body in the middle of the arena.

I think I just figured out what it was. The busters that you have the least of in your inventory drop more often. I had like 15-20 of every other buster so only the shitty dlc ones I never used ever dropped. I bought like 60 of each dlc and sure enough the other ones started dropping

Furies are fun. If you want a safe bet against them use Rawhide for Nero and Ice Age for Dante, they can't do shit against it, then take them into the air and they're done.

I always leave Furies 'til last, stay mobile and ready to evade when their sound cue plays. Only real troublesome room I can think of is the one before King Cerb with the Scissors, but you can trampoline jump between them fishing for a parry and he's too slow to keep up.
