They took it in the completely wrong direction. They had something simple but pretty fun at first. If they would have focused more on making later maps truly different, different objectives then they would have been somewhere. If they would have toned down the ults (which they did a some) to the point that the match didn't have to revolve around ult economy, if they eventually gave each character maybe more thing to do to make it easier to feel like you have an impact as an individual. There's so many missteps that could have easily been avoided. But as it stands their game is just too simple, too streamlined and it just gets fucking boring. And adding more CC, shields barriers and healing is literally the opposite of what you want in a first person SHOOTER.

The big problem with that is actually that the meta doesn't allow for more than 1 or sometimes 2 dps if you want any chance of winning, despite dps classes being the most fun to play as and against. I'd actually go back to the game if a team with hanzo, mcree, soldier and reaper had a chance of winning.

There's way too much fucking CC, it's supposed to be a shooter, not a moba or something. There's also way too many smoothbrain heros that take no fucking skill and have a significant outcome on the game. Reaper in particular has got to be the absolute epitome of the "anyone can be good and have fun" philosophy. I can't even really fault Reaper players because Blizzard's balancing means tanks are ridiculously overpowered right now and Reaper is the best counter to that. Every map is a series of chokepoints. Any hero with interesting mechanics or interesting movement options is horrible because the basic bitch hitscan dps just outperform them in every way no matter how good you are.

There are a couple heroes I genuinely enjoy playing, but it's not fun when I just get my asshole blown inside out by Ashe and McRightclick because their kits are simple and better suited to almost any situation.

All that being said, the porn is god tier. I can't even count how many gallons of cum I've spilled to that one Widowmaker video. My only complaint is there's a severe lack of Mei stuff, and what little there is is mostly shitty quality from second rate artists.

One thing I wanted to add about maps is that they have the wrong priorities with them from the get-go. Blizzard loves putting in small details with these things. This is great for a game like World of Warcraft where you have all the time in the world to examine the mynute details, but it doesn't work well for a shooter. If I'm on attack, I've got about forty five seconds to examine the room before I have to fuck off and start fighting. If I'm on defense, I have no time at all to examine things since I need to get into position.

I think that the new map is one of the biggest offenders in this bullshit. They have a robot singer which you'll spend less than a minute looking at, despite all the effort they put into making her. Then on the last point, you have a bullshit open courtyard which looks great, but holy fuck, nothing makes me more angry than being on attack on Paris. It favours the defenders so heavily that you have to overwhelmingly crush the other team if you want to actually win. I guess the problem can be summed up as style over substance.

Back on topic. I stopped playing because I got bored of it. I got bored mainly because it's yet another game forced to be centered around 'pro - players'. And it's consistently (and in Blizzard fashion) playing catch up to balance the game. Blizz hasn't made a balanced game since the later days of SC:BW, where pro leagues weren't shoved down the players throats they came naturally and weeded out all the kinks and quirks.
