I only think that about singleplayer games. There's nothing wrong with trying to give yourself an edge in multiplayer games.

competition is fun, learning every character's moves is fun, learning to read your opponent is fun
getting obsessed on having an edge to the point where you memorize each character's move frames and bitching when you don't get a perfect 0% delay connection is not fun in the slightest and is the reason why fighting game players are on the same level as speedrunes on the autism-o-meter

Actually user I'm an university student about to finish, and I can safely say that not even studying for all those countless finals and midterms was as autistic as pro-level fighting games or speedrunning.
This is on a level where people are inspecting moves happening at 1/60 seconds. This is obsession on a whole other level.
