V is garbage and controls like it

V is garbage and controls like it.

Isn't it nice how if you play as Dante or Nero, you press the strike button when you're right at them, you generally hit? Not with V. First, I need to summon Shadow and then I can finally try to hit. And what's super fun is when I'm locked onto an enemy I want to attack and Shadow is doing whatever other bullshit while I'm trying to hit what I want to.

But what's this? I strike with the panther and he misses for no other reason than just attacking the wrong way? Oh. Okay. Or how about those times where I try to reach up to a hanging red orb container with my shitty bird just to have a hard time hitting the fucking spot because for whatever reason, I can't reach it.

And then there's the point where I'm supposed to use my whacking cane to finish off an enemy. I really love it when I can lock on to one target and finish them off, lock on to the next one to finish off and V is instead just waving his cane around attacking air.

Fuck this.

And then you press Nightmare and immediately get an S rank.

I loved playing as V for the differentiation but I sure as hell hate replaying missions on higher difficulties. Feels like a chore, especially when dodging causes your familiars to disappear.

but he's fun

just summon nightmare and do literally anything for a free SSS rank

The panther is not very responsive and there aren’t many options to position it in the right range. Also since you have to dodge attacks for the shadows and V Taking your dodge away when one of them dies seems very punishing

>First, I need to summon Shadow and then I can finally try to hit.
Not sure what your complaint is here? "HURR RHURR WHY DOEZ DA SUMMUN CHARACTER HAEV TO SUMMUN TINGS"
>But what's this? I strike with the panther and he misses for no other reason than just attacking the wrong way?
Both Shadow & Griffon's dodges put them right next to V and make re-positioning them a thousand times easier, but yes trying to have Shadow switch from one enemy to the other across the map will cause him to miss. Who knew?
>Or how about those times where I try to reach up to a hanging red orb container with my shitty bird just to have a hard time hitting the fucking spot because for whatever reason
...Or you could just use griffon to double jump up there at hit it yourself with the cane
>I really love it when I can lock on to one target and finish them off, lock on to the next one to finish off and V is instead just waving his cane around attacking air.
The warp finishers from enemy-to-enemy are timing based, which I'll concede is the only dumb part of his mechanics, but I think it's partially Gambit as a dodge function as well.

tl;dr, you're shit, get good

>Nightmare
I believe you mean reskin Yellow Devil

You're not very good at defending this. And yes, I would use the griffon to "double-jump". It's like you read what I wrote but didn't. You responded to me explaining that I tried using a certain way of doing something with "... Or you could just do what you were doing."

V gameplay would be twice better if demons were just automatically summoned on whatever target you've got actively selected, instead of some drawn out animation. There should also be more clarification and consistency on their teleportation for certain moves.

The best way to play as V is to just spam shadow and griffon, use DT as often as possible, avoid attacks, and taunt whenever I’m in a safe location.

It sounds easy but it’s actually really demanding that you pay attention to everything happening around you. And don’t forget to do the kill strikes, of course.
