too much walking and gaining stats based on your current class is dumb
>want to try out a new class?
>nah, you've been a dumb warrior all game. loser
>or do you have the 'tism and need to min-max like a fiend? play the shit class that gives you necessary stats to play the good class
but still fun, I'm sure 2 will be better when it comes out in 8-10 years

How to kill death in Blackbutter island?
What is it like a bug or something?
wish Ingle grew in size/damage/aoe as you went from Ingle to High to Grand instead of just being rapid fire balls.
Played it last year, now and still my favorite game.
Nah, he just gets knocked down into the void with some power shots. Its the only time he spawns around or above a void and its only for a second. Using a pilgrim's charm gets you x2 XP and if you don't have any pawns with you and you're on hard, thats 999,999xp X2. I think it gets you from lvl1 to lvl80 something.
Don't fuck with the Brine.
So, what level are you supposed to be for Daimon? The other bosses were fine, but I am barely doing any damage to him at all.
Bullshit ass game doesn't tell you fuck all.
What the fuck do goblinkind fear?
In what manner do wolves hunt?
Where do all the roads lead?
Could the Duke stand to commission more of them?
Which items are masterworks?
Hope your ass doesn't want to know, 'cause you never will.
I was in my 70s, it took me over an hour but it wasn't difficult. Just don't let him use his bullshit 1 hit kill move. As long as you pack some stamina you don't need to worry. I kept him in the little entrance area and used ricochet arrows as a magic archer and got a lot of good hits on him pretty quick but I think Thousand Kisses does a lot more damage to him faster, go for the head.
tutorial turned me right off
so i turned it right off
THEIR MASTER, A GOBLIN!
Casual filtered right off
Dragon's Dogma is a shitty grind-sim with all of 3 enemy types in it. The gameplay is mind-numbing, the exploration is nonexistent, and the lore isn't interesting.
based
reminder that stats do not matter
only gear is important
Reminder that warrior class long sword fags are brainlets and shegoat is the worst waifu
It's quite literally the greatest game of all time.
Oh shit let me get my lightning spell ready.
It is awesome. Mercedes is best girl
so what is The Brine
>no one made a 6 skill Warrior mod yet
Is there at least a marginal strength boost mod for Warrior? I can't believe the devs fucked up a simple class like that.
The... water? The brine is the brine. The ocean. Lakes, large ponds. The brine.
It's a plot device to explain why there isn't naval exploration/combat or underwater monsters.
It still hurts.
>underwater monsters
What do you think the brine is?
I guess, but imagine if you could fight a Leviathan or Nessie
Water combat is always lame, its better this way
I was gonna go a Mage/Sorc run, what should my main pawn be and what Inclinations should I force on him to protect my ass?
Make your pawn a Sorc. Hire two additional sorcerers. Nuke everything.
this seems like a minor complaint to me. like if you want to play a new class in other games you just start over so how is this worse? and complaining about min maxing seems pointless unless you need to do it to be viable like in tes4.
But who's gonna stop enemies from pushing me off cliffs?
DMC5 flopped, now we're never getting DD2.
Just cast some spells my dude. Also throw some focused bolts in there.
They could have a system more like MH where your stats are determined by gear rather than what class you were when you levelled up.
I don't want to have to replay the whole game to use a different weapon effectively.
they could but they don't, dummy.
I loved it. The way you improve stats, the way every class actually feels totally different to play with, climbing monsters and finding their weak spots, the plot twist of the story, the way the pawns grow and learn from you, even the comunity here was great. Uncle Dante was amazing.
I really wish Capcom would release DD2 already...
that's why your game got 78 metascore lol
Pretty good
pretty clunky
like most games, the pacing is terrible. I guess its pretty decent once you suffer the first 30h or so. not worth it tho desu
nice try but I've never played it
it has some of the best memes
I love it
Non meme answer: Fighter with shield summons and dragons maw
dont understand.
>Dragon's Dogma anime releases
>all the dialogue between the main cast is WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS lines
How are they gonna make this shit work?
genuinely don't mean to sound like a cunt but you need to play the game to understand
Pawn will be strong female negro that gains self awareness immediately and saves the clumsy dumb white male arisen from everything while he reaps the rewards.
Something something patriarchy
>herro gaizu!
>ifu debiru mei curai faivo dusu werru den ai wirru givu yu nekusutu insutarumentu tu duragonsu dogoma!
>i wirru meiku a anime of duragonsu dogoma fo arr royaru fansu!
>sankyu fo suporuto!
>grind-sim
Not until the everfall did I feel I ever needed to grind and that was actually pretty fun and could be finished relatively quickly.
BBI makes you grind a bit for materials and weapon/armor but it's challenging and fun pretty much all the time anyways.
yeah, not gonna happen. just explain. might even get me to buy
Not that dude, but he's right. It's not even remotely funny or sensible without having experienced the game. Its a very context heavy meme
Potentially 3 years away now that DMC5 is out...
I hope you remembered to give your Pawn lots of love, anons
in despite of what this user said i'll do my best to explain
there's a weapon smith in the game, named caxton, who's the primary weapons and armour dealer. there are multiple menus when talking to him, to buy, sell or enhance gear. this game invest a lot into buying, selling and enhancing your gear so you're constantly going back and forth. every time you do this his intro dialogue is displayed along with his voice line
he says "they're master works all, you can't go wrong!" you hear this so many damn times whenever you interact with them that to some it's almost annoying to the point of wanting to kill him or attack him just so he'll shut the fuck up. attacking anyone in the city gets you sent to prison, the "joke" if you would even find it funny is that this player got fed up of hearing the line and attacked caxton before he could even finish saying what he always says, resulting in being sent to the dungeons
we told you, it's not really that funny but it's just a dragon's dogma meme that you really need to play the game to properly understand
then why the fuck are we in a Fisherman Village if there's nothing in the water but the Brine?
there are fish, the Brine just attacks everything else
I give my pawn plenty of headpats everyday
Very good
the "theory" is that the brine are attracted to warm blooded creatures that enter deep water, which would explain why fish are fine and how saurians can swim in deep water without being killed while most monsters that fall in die within seconds
What's better, this or Assassin's Creed Odyssey? They both look like Witcher 3 killers.
I always thought the brine was fucking stupid, just put in some invisible wall on the shoreline instead of this weird-ass lore that really locks the creators out of ever using the water.
>Give the ring to my pawn
>Never take it away
>ACO
>killing anything
ubishit is a joke and every game they make is a joke
>tfw can't marry your Pawn
Dragon's Dogma shits all over Witcher 3.
And Witcher 3 shits all over Ass Creed.
I just made my pawn the biggest, fattest black dude you could make, in order to have him carry all my stuff effectively.
BUT DO YOU STILL TELL HIM HE DID A GOOD JOB, user?
I've been wanting to replay this game. I remember it being good but I haven't played it since it came out and I never played DA. Is it funner to play as a wizard or fighter? I think I was a wizard type last time but I think I wanna be a fighter
Dragon's Dogma 2 WILL come out, and it will look prettier than DD1 but will be a downgrade in combat and pawns mechanics, plus no more lolis.
You know this to be true.
And this is exactly why i see no point in loli healers.
They just can't carry enough
If you go fighter, don't forget to bring some Pawns with ranged attacks
You must be a pretty uncreative person if you think it would be difficult in any way to write a lore-friendly method to combat the brine, or to simply have a sequel take place in the future or a part of the world where the brine don't exist
>Getting a sequel.
>Getting a Netflix anime.
THE WIND IS PUSHING ME
What I'm looking at here?
Is it really getting a sequel? First time I hear about it.
incel
It really depends on what sort of playstyle you're looking for. The biggest complaint for Sorcerers is the casting times, but the damage output is insane and exploiting elemental weaknesses is great. You can get augments and an item to help reduce casting time, but not by much.
Playing as a Fighter was fun, it gets a little tricky dealing with flying enemies but I still enjoyed the swiftness of combat tied with lots of damage. Honestly, I'd go with Assassin at this point using a sword and a bow is my most favourite combo of weapons in the game.
Or mix them both up and go Mystic Knight.
Just give english version of DD Online so I can play on ps4 fags when waiting for DD2
Dragon's Dogma was originally going to be really fucking big
>Witcher 3 shits all over Ass Creed.
W3 has no vertical movement, stealth, finding locations through NPC dialogue alone, enlisting in faction battles over territory, roaming NPCs that hunt the player, polished and snappy controls, etc
Actually play them.
>You can get augments and an item to help reduce casting time, but not by much.
It reduce time pretty good, obviously not for the strongest spell like Tornado but once you hit with it almost everything is dead
I remember one of my friends telling me that Caxton ended up being his waifu at the end due to the sheer amount of times he interacted with him. Cracked up so hard
Witcher is for the story and dialogues, Dragon's Dogma is for exciting gameplay, loved them both, obviously there is no point in making another Witcher game and I can't wait for DD2.
Yeah, and it also doesn't have black strong women or a recurring drag queen tier gay NPC or a story about cuckoldry. It has other things going for it though, whereas Ass Creed has no strengths, only mediocre parts and shit parts. Mostly the latter.
Actually play them.
that happened a lot, especially with other minor characters. the affection system was majorly fucked in the original game, dark arisen fixed this so that buying/selling items no longer affects it by such a high amount
You didn't fall for her Jewish tricks, did you?
someone please post that goat dreaming meme
Poor Rook.
I bought the game and will be starting it tomorrow. Anything I should know before diving in?
My poor Arisen unfortunately has a weak spot in her heart for blonde haired, blue eyed, big tittied bimbos.... and so do I.
Wolves hunt in packs!
Their kind hate ice and fire both!
The Gran Soren innkeeper has disappeared in my current playthrough. I haven't been able to change skills or vocation in 10 hours of play...
Didn't know how it happened but i ended up romancing her, so i think i fell for her pair of tricks if ya know what i mean
The problem I have with the game is that it feels so aimless. A dragon takes your heart and then you're left to wonder the world doing shitty quests that have nothing to do with the dragon.
2022. Just in time for DD's 10 year anniversary
Stat growths are static by what class you are when you level up, so don't be switching between archetypes all over the place.
This is the primary reason people claim the game is grindy or has a sharp difficulty curve midway through. They play Sorcerer for five hours then switch to Warrior and expect to just buy gear and keep on trucking.
Not enough content, good ideas but too barebones with them.
Some fun combat with a shit story and boring world. And honestly, the combat isn’t any better than TW3.
This perplexes me because enemies don't infinitely scale. The stats from leveling is inconsequential so while it's valid to say you think it's poor design, it doesn't substantially impact anything but min/maxing stats for the sake of min/maxing. I do not see any enemy that requires
>replay the whole game to use a different weapon effectively.
Nah, I like the weird ones
DMC5 sold 20k. Itsuno will never be allowed to make a game again,
Wolves hunt in packs.
For real though don't get sucked into thinking you need to minmax, discussions geared at new players online are always filled with retards from reddit and gamefaqs who spout shit like "Yeah if you want good damage as X you really gotta do levels 1-100 as Y, then 100-200 as Z, THEN you can play X." ignore that shit, while you do benefit from levelling as certain classes for their stat growths, unless you actually care you're unlikely to notice much (or any) real difference in your performance. The exception to this is augments, some of the augments are extremely useful no matter the class, but thankfully there's a literal AFK grinding spot at a certain point that can let you get those quick, if you care.
Also make sure you stop by previous locations reasonably often, don't stress and let it ruin your first playthrough, but there are missable quests in the game and there's a few that almost everyone misses on their first time through.
And although it's a meme, don't actually make a loli arisen or pawn, they have absolutely fucking abysmal carry capacity and depending on your playstyle weight from random garbage can accrue pretty quickly while on adventuring trips. If you care you can look up the actual charts for height and body weight, but generally bigger characters are for the most part objectively better.
Aside from that, play what you want (the only class most would really advise against making your arisen is mage, it's almost exclusively a heal/buffbot and is therefore mostly intended for pawns and is boring as fuck to actually play (sorceror is the big boy if you want to be a proper wizard)), explore and discover shit at your own pace, and be aware that enemies aren't scaled, so if you find yourself getting shitstomped feel free to gtfo and come back later when you're stronger and better geared.
Magic is satisfying as fuck to pull off in this game. You actually feel like a powerful sorcerer instead of say Skyrim where you're just firing little pew pew fireballs out of your hands.
For me this better than any other alternative. Sure, you want a game to have enough of a budget to realize all its elements, but if things need to be cut then I'd argue DD was cut perfectly. They established a smooth, varied gameplay system that can be carried over to a sequel 1:1 with nothing but creative elements added on.
Meanwhile I've been waiting since 1998 for LoZ to nut up and design some worthwhile gameplay, despite its budget and BotW's supposed amount of content. Fuck content if its as memorable as clipping your nutsack hairs individually.
Quality will always triumph over quantity for me, and Dragon's Dogma has just enough of both and virtually limitless potential for its sequel.
having a blast so far doing a no death playthrough
That's what I like about it honestly, it's this weird feeling I can't quite place, best likened to if you were somehow running around in someones P&PRPG setting without them actually present to DM it. It feels like you've been plonked right into an actual world with not much more than "Have fun dork."
Also whether intentional or not I'd argue some of the aimlessness feels intentional given the Duke is probably taking precautions and sending you on shitty wild goose chases just incase you actually are a true arisen, so that you won't get closer to your goal or actually have a chance at slaying the dragon.
>appears out of nowhere
>black robes and scythe
>teleports behind you
>nothin personnel arisen
>kills you on one blow
>bows and teleports out
>mind the edge master...
>grand gicel finally goes off
>catches the full health drake you're fighting right in the heart and instantly BTFO's every single one of its health bars
I like the visuals, too. Imo even "pew pew fireball hands" in Bethesda games wouldn't feel as anaemic if they had some fancy designs and actual magical spell looking shit attached to them rather than just 'lol flaming hands'. If I'm summing some big fuckoff elemental effect I want a big fuckoff circle of runes or something to show me that I'm casting something that isn't to be fucked with.
Need a fucking sequel
It's not precisely the best open world RPG out there but the combat is much better than most open world RPGs. Much, much better. Like holy shit why are you even bothering
No one is renting my amazon pawn, i knew i should of made a fucking loli, NOW I'VE GOT TO GRIND 5000 RC BEFORE I CAN FIX THIS MISTAKE FUCKING REEEEEEEE.
the game is fucking dead no pawns get rented
No!!!!!!!
just mod a higher rc drop rate in
Open world monster hunter would have been more fun.
>Lost a bajillion RC to a "trick" that someone here told me about months ago
hhgmmmgmghhhh fuck you nigga
Can you do BBI without min maxing?
Get the RC drops mod, it helps this late on in the game lifecycle, multiplies the RC reward from quests and shit by a number that means you can actually earn a usable amount from just playing the game, but isn't that powerful compared to people actually renting your shit.
Also, I had a big amazon fighter pawn like, 3 years ago that got a metric shitload of RC and constant hires, I think the game is just starting to die off, honestly.
Yeah, but the last boss will be hard.
I still don't understand the ending. Does your pawn literally become you and run off with your love interest? Does that mean you got cucked by your own pawn?
>last bar of Bolide is you levitating a few feet off the ground with the sheer force of all the magic bullshit you're channeling
i really dunno why sorcerer gets pooped on a bunch here, i can understand wanting to climb monsters and stab them in the dick but dropping fucking nukes and impaling shit with gigantic ice spears seems to be too boring for some people, somehow.
and that's not even getting into I'LL MIRROR YOUR SPELL x3
Ayy man stop ;-;)
if you buy enough periapts
what difficulty do I play on if I just wanna breeze through the combat? Hard, right?
Dumb incel
hard doubles stamina use so it's tedious
yes, plus from what i remember a couple of the unique romances offer lines like 'you're not really him but oh well lol' in the cutscene
High Maelstrom is so cool.
I think it just depends on personal preference, some people can sit there watching their dude wave their hand around while fancy effects build up for 30 seconds and they'll feel like an epic fantasy wizard, for some people that same sequence is boring 'dead air' where they're doing nothing but watch pretty lights while they could be stabbing the monster in the face, I can see both schools of thought even if I'm squarely in the former.
I don't think anyone would argue that the visuals aren't great, though, the visuals for basically every player effect are good no matter the class, imo. I actually only noticed on my most recent playthrough that when you release bolide you can actually see "stars" "blinking" as the meteors appear/enter the atmosphere (or whatever crazy bullshit the celestial makeup of the dragon's dogma world has, considering some of the cut-content we're aware of).
It's no masterwork.
The longer a pawn is with their arisen, the more similar they become. This is because the pawn is literally an empty vessel, but from being with an arisen, will gradually gain a bit of humanity and possibly even a soul. The pawn can only gain the arisen's soul upon the arisen's death. After that, the pawn becomes a full-fledged human and carries on their own life after you, the Arisen, break the cycle and bestow the "new life" to your pawn. This is explained in Selene's side quests.
I always assumed that you and your pawn sort of fused and became an entirely new being.
When does this game get good?
And I know it does, I saw some absolutely cuhrazy magic shit in some videos. I really want to try, I started multiple times but it always feels boring and slow. How many hours into the game does it become cool?
I think it's one of the best games ever created, and I hope DD2 will improve upon it 10 fold and use the ideas that were lost, and hope they keep the same or more level of exploration, like climbing and jumping on rooftops and finding shit all the way at the top of some small ledge in a dungeon, the level of verticality and using skills to as movement options much like DMC.
yea, if youre gonna make a shitty open world game with an empty world, with nothing to explore, to please retards dont take away fast travel
Hard mode is a boring type of hard mode.
>enemies have more hp and knockback resist
>you use double the stamina for everything
>enemies drop more money and exp but you can get the same by just playing normal
>micro-organism that is in every body of water that is more than waist deep, even in caves, water gods alter, etc
>lol it just goes away
and I'm the uncreative one? Lack of a creative solution is better than a retarded solution.
quina is the only person who realizes its not you anymore
S-shut up!
lol the seneschal did it
what game are you talking about?
I wonder if a pawn could become human enough to become Arisen in turn.
It depends on the class you use, some of them are not that good at mobility.
Assassins have a lot of cool tricks
Normal it is then.
dragons dogma pc edition (dragons dogma pc edition)
if that isn't the plot of DD2 i will eat my own shorts with a side order of hat because that's a fucking golden opportunity.
extra special bonus points if it reads your save from DD:DA
i had to go look it up but selene and mercedes do too
that's really no different, it's still a dumb hand-wave to make up for a dumb design decision
oh because there is lots to explore and a fast travel system
ferrystone doesnt count
cmon Yea Forums post your arisen and pawn
lol why not?
My arisen is pretty generic but I like my pawn.
I'm too much of a bitch to go back to BBI
My dick just became diamonds.
if youre in the middle of nowhere and you cant fast travel to the city, how does it count?
im pretty sure there is a portcrystal already laid at the pawn guild, and you get an eternal ferrystone(among the others you find) from the inn in gran soren. now what were you complaining about?
How about archers and magik archers? Are they good for a new player?
Afraid of Death murdering your pawns?
I am as well, so I just grab my pawn and run away
I can only get an hour of gameplay out of it at this point.
Loved it the first time through, but for some reason I find it incredibly boring now.
ranger is the most broken class in the game
magik archers are up there as the most fun class to use with assassin. It is good for first playthroughs.
Sorcerer can be fun when you're rolling with 3 sorcerer pawns facerolling everything and trying to get your pawns to do the spells you want to stunlock enemies, but it does get a little dull when most encounters become "Hold a button for 10/20/30 seconds until you do a big attack" or just killing everything with Holy Focused Bolt from 500 yards away
Soloing is a different experience but it's so fucking boring early on.
But you can also use lightning whips which is the tighest shit known to man
Oh I sure did.
Magick Archers are really quite fun. You get to exploit elemental weaknesses while still having the fast playstyle of a yellow vocation, they have some handy utilities (the arrow that lights up the room is a godsend in the lower part of BBI where you fight in shallow water), their abilities are very powerful, and they look and feel good to use. Ricochet Arrow turns the game into a rave simulator.
Is a Fighter build fun or should I just not even bother? Been wanting to replay this game but dunno what to go as. I cleared the game with everything except Fighter, Sorcerer and Magick Archer.
Just thinking about DD2 on that engine which DMC V run on is making my dick erect, if Capcom gonna fuck up this and gameplay will be shit then I will never buy anything from them again.
>want to have the strongest warrior or fighter
>need to play as assasin
this need to be changed in sequel
> Vocation
Olra on Bitterblack Isle. I think she also changes skills too?
> Skills
Some dude in the pawn encampment
If you played from 10 to 200 as an Assassin, you'd end up with ~830 Attack and ~277 Defense. If you played 11-200 as a Warrior, you'd have ~643 Attack and ~465 Defense.
On Hard Mode, 277 Def is suicidal, and there is zero need to min-max for Attack on any mode.
If you think Sorcerer is boring, do a solo run. And have some fucking self control and NOT just Holy Focused Bolt everything.
>Comestion is your bread and butter spell
>High Miasma is your status proc spell, use with Rusted Archistaff to inflict Torpor and Gold Archistaff to inflict Silence on problem enemies (This staff is incredibly fucking easy to miss and has a small window to get it, look it up)
>Necromancy will stop anything that tries to approach and and works passively after being casted, all skulls from High Necromancy hitting one large monster has a very high chance to stagger them giving you time to cast it again
>craft magic tomes and gems for when you need a spell casted right away (and craft shit in general, this system is extremely under used)
>High Voidspell optionally for convenience, a fast spell and then a big dick damage spell swapped out for what you're expecting to fight
Shit's fun and fights require a degree of planning rather than just sitting back and spamming Bolide. Solo is honestly the best way to play DD
i think THE SECOND ONE IS GOING INTO PRODUCTION RIGHT NOW OMG OMG OMG
I heard Dragon Maw Fighter build is fun. Though nowhere near Immolation Magic Archer.
>have some fucking self control and NOT just Holy Focused Bolt everything
i can't, i fucking hate the internet sometimes. i never knew about this and ever since i found out i do it all the time, i hate that it makes the game 1000x easier but the mindless fun element in a game that's supposed to be taken seriously and a little strategically has took over my reasoning skills
How do you play solo?
I fell for her Jewish tits
>have some fucking self control and NOT just Holy Focused Bolt everything
But that's the best part. HFB is the only spammy skill that is always fun to use.
Min/maxing is totally unnecessary. Your item's stats matter way mkre
my main mage man. I never used HFB as sorcerer and had a grand old time. when you're outside, climb up on a rock and basically call down hellfire from above where shit can't hit you.
basically this, you have loads of spells, use them. you really only need one or two big dick damage spells, the rest should be utility or fun.
i prefer big stuff like Gicel for bread and butter with a Brontide for cyclopses but honestly you can pretty much do whatever. some monsters will require specific spells but you can swap out as needed.
holy focused bolt is the kind of thing you use if you're a filthy minmaxer.
periapts + holy affinity bolts/explosive arrows
If you're asking to how to literally play by yourself, throw all pawns into deep water and /brine/ them
Its not live action so it'll be fine
We're both rather generic
My boy Jamarqis. He's got black dreads and black eyeliner because he's a faggot ass metal head. My first and only save, this was on my first NG+ after killing Daimon the first time.
He ruined this shot.
I'd give her a 4 star on looks.
I love this game's character creator.
Thanks, user. It's a shame that the hat is inferior to the Veil in terms of resistances. I do love big, pointy witch hats on my magic girls.
You were fooled by Yea Forums the game is shit and I will explain why:
>No indication of where roads lead
>No hint to what enemies are weak to
>No hint of when enemies are alone or in groups
>No warning to avoid status effects
>No clue to which items are masterworks
I don't know how people defend this game.
DD's lack of big pointy mage hats in favor of dumb-looking skullcaps is its greatest weakness.
Indeed. Makes me hate playing as a sorcerer. No giant hats or spooky masks. Just dumb caps.
Post your favorite capes
god the capes were so good in this game
The Hellfire Cloak is honestly perfect
Are you a videogames journalist? Do you want your hand held too? Baby want to mark enemies? Maybe a cookie cutter build that one shots everything all the time?
Quests suck imo. But the different vocations and combat was really fun. Each different vocation was fun to play and waste many hours on. The different mobs all look cool. Tbh I spent most of my time running around Bitterblack Isle killing shit and grinding out loot. As i said the combat was the best thing about this game for me. If i was not as lazy as I am. I would go though the effort to play the jp online game.
But i would recommend the game to people. Specifically when it's on sale. I played the game for around 280 hours and enjoyed it. p.s Gimmi all the fucking riftstone
Read his post again very slowly
I forgot to say in most games I hated character creation and didnt spend any time on it. But in dd I really liked it and spent quite a while on my pawn and mc after the first play though
great foundations, gameplay not deep enough for most vocations, shit world, dull story
youtu.be
Qnd don't forget that bangin ass tune
Again, this isn't Skyrim you fag.
user...
consider this
the post has been around so long that bait catches bait
Hes referencing all the pawn dialogue, hes joking you dumb shit.
fake news
I always end up wearing the Harpy Cloak for like half the game
A full cape of feathers is just so stylish for yellow classes, bit if it doesn't suit the character I'm playing I tend to default to the Wyrm Hunt Mantle.
Most likely but I'll take the chance, I don't want some smug prick 14 year old thinking he won an argument with me
bruh
Second hand embarrassment, so this is how it feels...
>beat you to it ()
>didn't get any (You)s
Feels bad, man.
I saw it when you posted it and smiled, no worries man
The only good capes are the narrow scarfs.
Only on small/skinny characters imo
All capes are fine except for the pauldrons
Pic related alongside the Beastly Mantle
Shit world and a horribly paced story with bland characters you won't ever give a shit about. The combat is fun, but it's dragged down by the fact that your strength is almost entirely dependent on gear, so fancy combos won't help you a whole lot against enemies that are stronger by stats. The gimmick of climbing up enemies gets old quickly, especially once you realize that there is only like 3-5 enemy types where you use this mechanic. The optional endgame is a boring slog that is all about opening RNG treasure chests and hoping to get an upgrade while running through boring, samey looking corridors.
The best part were probably the dragon fights, which put those from Skyrim to shame. Aside from that, the game was mediocre and forgettable. But it was unfinished, too, so who knows what it might have looked like.
I agree, they are so shitty and low poly.
Bump
/ddg/ rise and shine!
Why go for a pawn when you got Grigori?
Just wish for him to be your wife.
This user might be on to something
Gonna start this for the first time, am I supposed to ditch my newby pawns for the cool new ones all the time as I progress through the game or what? Think I'll go with Magick Archer, I assume pairing it with some healer+tank+sorcerer is decent?
>Grigori wearing an apron making you breakfast in the morning.
they dont level up or get new weapons so eventually yea they will be pretty useless
>they dont level up
Shit, didn't know that. Guess I'll keep ditching them for the newer ones, thanks.
You will sink hours and hours into it, developing a character, hoping the game will get fun once you have powers and resources.
This destination does not exist, and you will eventually give up and convince yourself that the fun you had was the journey, and come here to say this game is good.
The truth is that the fun was never there to begin with.
Having nooby pawns in the party increases your XP gains, so you can keep those love-able weaklings around for a little longer if you want
if you wanna break the game search for highly rated pawns. If not then just choose a random pawn that's the class you want and same level as you.
Here's a tip, try to get ones with utilitarian as a second inclination.
Pawns will better work as a group when fighting enemies.
Any must have mods for this? Every other mod on nexus is some nudity mode.
Your pawn that you make levels with you, but the ones you grab from the rift don't, so yeah you need to swap them out once in a while.
When the game was more alive you were decently likely to be able to find the same pawn but leveled up a bit as their arisen was playing the game as you were, but I don't know if that is still common enough. Regardless if you like a pawn you can favorite it and check on them once in a while.
Pretty much any teamcomp works, the only real caveats to that is that you need a source of magic damage to deal with shitty ghosts that are immune to physical, and a source of ranged physical damage to deal with one specific gimmicky enemy that there's only one of in the main game.
One thing to know is that "Tanking" isn't really a thing in DD, at least actively. The defensive pawn inclinations tend to be more of a hindrance than a benefit even if you want them to draw aggro. Guardian, Mendicant etc mostly just interfere with their AI by forcing them to pay too much attention to you and not enough to the enemies.
It is still quite useful to have a tanky melee guy around to deal with mobs, but a fighter or warrior with Mitigator or Challenger will be more effective at keeping the pressure off you, since aggression is a lot simpler on the AI than trying to fight defensively intelligently.
World Difficulty if you already beat the game and want a new challenge.
which class should I play as please help meeee
Wolves hunt in packs, a raisin.
all of them are great, except for Mage
What do you want to do in game?
All of them in order from the one you think looks the most fun to the least
You want to have access to all the passives anyway
sorcerer or assassin
Thanks for the tips
Yeah I was thinking of making a Fighter to do the "tanking", basically just to have a class that can wear heavy armor. Maybe a Mystic Knight if they can fill that role.
There's nothing to the game except for the combat, and the combat is lackluster too, so I'd say it's extremely overrated.
Oh and building a character in an RPG should always be clear. This game made it annoying with its weird class system.
You're not hard-set as a specific class.
When I played I had two main characters, one used the physical vocations (fighter, warrior, strider, assassin, ranger) and one that used the magical ones (mage, sorcerer, magic archer, mystic knight) but that's not even really necessary I just have autism.
You can try out all the vocations, switch you and your pawn around, you actually need to to get more passive augmentations.
Play as a STRUGGLER
Dumb casul
Oh, and be careful spamming the pawn commands on the dpad, like Go, Help etc. It modifies their inclinations over time and tends give the more unhelpful ones like Pioneer or Guardian.
Pawns can't be hybrid classes unfortunately, so no Mystic Knight, Magic Archer or Assassin. Fighter is a very solid class though, and the AI is pretty good with them. Some people suggest not giving them any shield skills so they focus on perfect blocking more but I've never seen a significant difference, just if you notice them constantly using a skill that isn't being very useful switch it out for something else.
>minmax strength all the way to lvl 200
>switch to ranger
>stack knockdown power
>10 fold arrow
>use 4 conquerors periapt
>blast arrows
>gold forged revenant wail
he'll be dead in seconds
Where can I get the most recent version? Google gives dead links for downloads
What? The game is casual as fuck. You can literally drink 10 potions while the game is paused.
There is zero skill involved in this game, it's all about gear.
You're a brainlet
Do pawns use the status arrows?
it give it a true old RPG feel
Play Sorcerer
too bad that doesn't actually happen because the griffin doesn't spawn until after that quest
Not really.
You can also do it with Mystic Flare, he hates it.
Do this but instead charge up Arc of Deliverance while he puts the pawns to sleep and just smash him into the abyss.
I wanted a sequel, but like RE2 being a re-imagining instead of a proper remake, they basically told me no.
Sometimes
>Also whether intentional or not I'd argue some of the aimlessness feels intentional given the Duke is probably taking precautions and sending you on shitty wild goose chases just incase you actually are a true arisen, so that you won't get closer to your goal or actually have a chance at slaying the dragon.
obviously
why do you think he wanted to send you far away on some "important mission" right before having to give up on that because the elysion attacked the great wall
Level doesn't matter, only equipment and augments are important.
Level is only relevant in the early-mid game and has no relevance in BBI where you can get 7x your natural stats from armor or weapons.
Go to the guy with the bombastic cloak and have him gold rarify your gear if you want to use what you have now.
I know it's not THE WIND IS PUSHING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE but what do you fags think of the one they replaced it with for Dark Arisen?
youtube.com
You sure?
I feel like I've had that happen. It's not the random griffon spawn, there's a specific event that happens once a game there with the goblins attacking the wagon at that arch and the griffon crashes the party then runs away.
>They'll make shegoat a STRONK wamen in the netflix adaptations
the original song is terrible weeb rock. absolute garbage
the dark arisen one is a far superior and fits the game much better
someone ought to ask them how many times the word aught will be used in the localization
This! Inexcusable game design. Doesn't even tell the player which tree is large
i actually like this theory.
The nexus.
One of these days I'm gonna read up on everything DDO related because FUCK YOU DD2 is gonna build on that.
>tfw no combinations of the second tier classes
>no warrior/sorc
Nah, they'll do that but instead of the pawn it will be Mercede's and they'll completely change her character so she wipes the floor with Julien instead of getting BTFO, and the goatfags will jerk off to it because she's so stronk and want her to beat them up.
>warrior only got 3 skill slots
I will never not be upset about this
I don't like it. All the characters and companions are absolutely lifeless and the combat is boring repetitive shit. Also the visuals are terrible. Why it gets praised is beyond me.
youtu.be
Really reminds me of DD
>warrior/sorc combo class
>YOU are the maelstrom
If DD2 ever happens i'd love to see how they would handle a brawler/monk type of class.
I need flashy unarmed attacks.
stackoverflow.github.io
Use this for equal melee and magic attack. Then you can play everything.
I really like it. I wish we could hear both. Maybe the wind is pushing me after you beat the game once.
its like one of those mediocre psp games like valhalla knights. But on 360 with better production value and memes.
I'm sure you know about alchemist in dragon's dogma online
that's exactly what you want
>summoner vocation that works like V
>unarmed vocation that works like Balrog
>Sorc/Assassin Hybrid
>focuses on Melee and Arcane trickery
Sorc/Warrior Hybrid
>focuses on Magical Weaponry/Conjured weapons, like the Lightning Whip, etc. unlocks 3 more skill slots
What about that mod compilation that changes the vocation stats so they're not retarded? Moddb had a version of world difficulty 2.0 with that and others mixed in, but the link is gone.
Thats wrong. This happened to me the last time I played. It came in at the final stretch.
what does harpy boobs feel like?
So is Dragon's Dogma 2 pretty much confirmed now?
>Itsuno get's good boy points for how well received DMC5 is
>Even before then when he asked if he could do DMC5 or DD2 capcom told him whichever he wanted
>Netflix show is a attempt to make normalfags care about the franchise
Like IGNORE THEIR COMELY FEATURES
Can't wait to get meme into buying the switch version
like a bag of curses
Slot Lassitude/High Lassitude my lassidude.
You can become a fire spirit in this game?
It's the best 7/10 ever made
>fire spirit
sure...
nah, it's a just skill where you set yourself on fire to damage enemies that touch you. You also take dmg.
Oh. Well then
I'm still alive.
Rad game, one of my favorites
boi he bout to do it
>The Netflix Show bombs
>Capcom blames fans and cans DD2

>watchthe 3d RE movies
>over the top corny shit
>Capcom sells DD to shit animators
>mfw
Why in the fuck they dont make the DD anime inhouse? If they get the guy who turned RE movies into nothing but gunfu this shit would be great
informing the village's population of ongoing events, of course
what i think about dragon dogma is it needs a seuquel
I think you need a sequel
user falls in love with me
what was his problem
Highly overrated 6/10 game, just like god hand.
>tricks
I'm a literal demi-God hero with unbelievable power and riches and she's the only one in the game smart enough to just ask me for some dosh straight up.
Who?
exactly
The pawn becomes more human because it spends so much time with a player character, the only input of volition or willpower into the world of Dogma.
The character you leave behind is a mere husk of what once was, waiting for the next player to complete the game.
Or what did you think the Seneschal meant by "controlled by forces unseen"?
probably 2022 or 2023
be honest, Yea Forums
were you a masterrace loli arisen amazon pawn player?
I really want to fight this guy as a fighter
No clue. Sorry.
I was a shota knight with an amazon Pawn witch
>make a strong female unga pawn gf that I'd love
>make her a warrior and I also become a warrior so I can teach her more effectively
>she uses her abilities frequently, jump attacks a lot, and has caught from 3 falls in one playthrough
cute
Thank god
Will you guys actually outright refuse to buy DD2 if the character creation isn't as in-depth as the first game? (no more height/weight affecting gameplay, no more literal children)
I made a bro
probably yeah
if I can't be a loli what's the fucking point?
Another great choice of a port for switch
I'd complain a lot about it. The character creator added depth to the game, as there is actual benefits and drawbacks to how you make your character. Removing features is always a bad thing.
>wanting shit carry weight just to satisfy your own perversions
>doesn't like challenges
gay
It also makes stamina regen faster, ideal for a mage or sorcerer
>another retard pretending you have to minmax to be effective
This stupid meme will continue on until we either get a second DD or Capcom ports Dark Arisen for the 5th time
>minmax
STOP
STOP
THIS GAME
DOES NOT
NEED
AUTISTIC FUCKING
MINMAXING
KYS
there are points where, if you've been on one end of the spectrum, the other end will feel shitty because you aren't statted up for that build
someone who's been a warrior or fighter for most of the way to 100 will have piss-poor magic damage
at level 100 you should have access to the best gear in the game, which makes up for it
Gear > Stats in this game
at that point you might as well just roll up a new character because at level 100 you are done with the game and have probably run BBI at least two or three times.
Haven't played much because of dmc and Kenshi but I was playing through bitterblack isle for a bit few days ago. Got as far as a area with a minotaur in some sort of tower but was out of healing items by then, all the pawns I had died and the minotaur hit like a freight train. I already got all the rift stones in gran soren so might just go visit the duke and end the game.
How fucked will I be if I don't wear the most optimal set? So far I've just been wearing whatever I want.
I made big and strong arisen a twink pawn
in base game, but that build difference makes a world of difference in BBI
>they will have piss-poor magic damage
So buy better gear and level up your sorc/mage vocation until you get the augment that puts your magic stat to the fucking ceiling.
Minmaxing is not or never will be necessary in a game where MOST stats are determined by your gear
As SEVERAL other people have already mentioned
I've autistically put like 400+ hours into this game, and in all my time I never started a new character just to minmax my character build, BECAUSE IT'S NOT FUCKING NECESSARY
Not with periapts it doesn't
I've put about that much time in the game across all different platforms and I have found only 1 use for autistic minmaxing: Unarmed run. Even then, 2 Bloody Knuckles help well enough, but the most strength possible is preferable.
>so far I've just been wearing whatever
BBI will give you better weapons and armor. If you dont like taking Eliminator cock in the ass, you should wear it
>unarmed run
Lol everytime I get the Bloody Knuckles I just laugh my ass off, because I can't think of a single reason to even try and do it.
It was surprisingly fun, and doable with periapts
Punching Grigori to death is very satisfying
>Kenshi
good taste my nigga
How do you cope with the lack of abilities? If Warrior is shit for only having 3, I can't imagine an unarmed no ability run is any fun at all
Give me my scarlet cape and I'm good.
Very fun, but also very flawed. I love the creature designs, very grim old fairy tale esque. Game play is fun, but other games have done it better. Open world doesn't make sense for such a linear game, so a lot of walking pad time. If it refined some of these elements, it might be a decent sequel.
>Beastly Mantle
based and redpilled
youtube.com
YOU FUCKED UP MY FA-
>removed most of the scars
Yellow vocations still have dodge roll and double jump, so you at least have movement options. Just play Strider and climb everything. When you aren't climbing monsters, its kind of similar to playing Warrior as its a lot of jumping attacks.
>mfw imagining a DD on current/next gen without all the limitations that cut a bunch of content and made what we got worse.
I like it enough to buy it a 3rd time next month.
That sucks, looking at the armor sets you can get there I'm not a big fan of them.
A sequel should only add stuff tho, I love DD and a sequel should be the same but with more stuff and better graphics
>start the game on hard mode
>hear "awoo" during nightime
>wolf one shots me with a jumping attack
the only way to play desu
No, my pawn was a chocolate toned frontline sword and shield babe
monster girl mod when
was she at least tall and white haired?
>be mystic archer
>have no use for armor at all, literally doesn't do anything for me
>have no use for gear at all even fucking hell
>literally nothing does anything for me anymore only magic level
>run around with magic boosting gear only because fuck why do anything else
>don't even use the memebow just use daggers
>only skill I even use anymore is SET YOURSELF ON FIRE ALLAH JIHAD BITCHES
>run around kicking everything in the face while on fire
yeah.... this game is pretty great.
How do sorcerers fare in BBI?
>holy affinity bolt
They afk BBI
Pretty fucking well. I actually went through the whole thing as a level 40 or so
I made a shortstack.
Neat. I'll do magic my next run.
have fun my man
you can also farm the ur-dragon easily with holy affinity bolt as well
Of course there's other things to do as sorcerer that are fun but holy affinity bolt is like their assault rifle primary weapon
Ranged offense options and mobility is all you "need" in BBI, hence why Warriors and Fighters have it pretty rough.
Hybrid Vocations are just better caster classes since as the player characters, you will value the flexibility more. I don't think i'd ever bother to play Sorceror myself without going for a full Sorc quad-casting party, which never fails to be an amazingly stupid experience.
If you haven't experienced 4x Grand Bolide being cast simultaneously, you haven't lived.
Not an amazon
They can set off tornados around fucking corners.
i played as a little boy and made my pawn a little girl.
Netflix literally just announced a Dragons Dogma anime.
DMC5 is doing good in the reviews and Capcom state that it is their second best PC launch ever. Only Monster Hunter World beat it. It sold 3 million on PC alone.
It definitely didn't flop so we probably are getting DD2.
Someone came out from under their rock
>cheesing rotunda of death by hiding behind a pillar and spamming tornadoes
I have some regrets, but not many.
>Also whether intentional or not I'd argue some of the aimlessness feels intentional given the Duke is probably taking precautions and sending you on shitty wild goose chases just incase you actually are a true arisen, so that you won't get closer to your goal or actually have a chance at slaying the dragon.
And don't forget he's the one who hired the assassins to kill you in "Nameless Terror"
The goal of being a sorcerer seems to be to very quickly hover up to some unreachable place and start raining down spells from above.
Yeah, and if you can do it it feels pretty great. Or if you feel lucky, punk, you can stay down on the field with a big boi and aim for a grand gicel right as it jumps at you. when it's a big pile of trash mobs like goblins though you're better off staying out of the way, too easy to get interrupted.
You are looking at the comic wrong. You think it’s the quest to bring the hydra head to the castle, but he is just doing a generic escort quest for she-goat and stumbles upon the fight that spawns thw griffin.
>not x4 Fulmination so you and your team can be a walking ball of electricity
Was he really? I never finished that quest, had too many runs where a glitch would lock me out of finishing it
I thought it was amazing and that it had absolute boatloads of potential which was squandered. Despite loving it, the game sometimes felt like half or merely a third of what it could've really been.
TODAY I WALK
I OUT FUCKING SIDE AGAIN
BUT THE SKY LOOK THE SAME TO ME.
It's easily one of the most videogamey games I've played in years, and easily makes it in my top 5, but yeah you're right it's got a lot of missed potential. But the fact that it's still so high up on my list and it's missing a lot of content, just means that a finished DD would've been fucking GOTY
I'm pretty fucking sure it's impossible to create Julien with the in-game character creator.
It's really unfortunate because now I have to roleplay as his retarded brother, instead.
Julien was an even bigger faggot than she-goat
that's why we love him, dumb dumb
>we
fuck off faggot
havent played in a while, this was my first arisen tho. went full edge i guess
Yes, we
alone we are a twig but together we form the mighty faggoty
So what is the actual source of this? It seems strange to me that the presentation/design spec is in pretty naturalized English despite the game having Japanese developers
This thread has spurred me to replay the game. Here's my old loli Arisen.
I put like 300h into the game as it is, I've no idea how much I would've played if it had all the content and polish it deserved.
>missing the chance to see faggotry or faggotree
yablewit
BBI was the only reason I was capable of putting the 400 hours I put into it, The base games enemies stop being a challenge the second you dragon forge all your armor/weapons
its bad but I liked it a lot.
i miss the old /ddg/ for ps3
Wolves at the start of hard mode are easily the hardest part of hard mode
yeah
well
i'll eat your berries idiot
fuck
I want a game with DD combat+more mobile magic set in Elder Scrolls
Itsuno basically teased it during every DMC5 interview he did and they recently announced a fucking Dragon’s Dogma anime, so I’m guessing now that DMC5 is done Itsuno and his team are in very early preproduction on DD2. People seem to think launching in 2022 for the 10 year anniversary is likely but I don’t see that happening, like DMC5 it’ll probably be announced on the 10th anniversary and released the following year.
I dunno why devs insist on making underwater combat shit. Like in Monster Hunter for instance, you’re already swinging around swords twice your size and doing anime shit so why the fuck is motion and inertia realistic and restrictive all of a sudden underwater? I don’t understand why every game that features underwater combat has to do this.
It should be possible, I remember back in like 2011 they were talking about how every NPC in game was made with the character creator with no exceptions.
who the fuck carries around berries? only have lordly tonics and auspicious incenses here idiot
because water combat is stupid and shouldn't be in anything
>tries to stab you with something pointy at turtle speed
Yeah, I put a lot of time in BBI too.
Major characters were made with options that are not available to players. If you play on PC you can use mods to use those parts such as the female characters hair styles.
Also why the fuck didn't tell me assassin was so fucking busted
>4 periapts Opportunism(the augment that amps your strength when clinging on an enemy) Dire Gouge on Daimon's head
>kill him in 3 hits
I used to dread fighting those chained up Gorecyclops and now I don't even care because it's so free
Kohai you dumb homo
Here's hoping there's gonna be more vore in DD2
>you can pin harpies but can't fuck them
Aw ye
I freaked out when I ran into Daimon 2.0 for the first time and that big fucking face fucking flew at me and ate me
GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK
A shame.
I was actually going to be replaying DD soon, does anything in particular happen?
these are classic dnd harpies, which means they are like vultures and shit and piss all over their legs to cool themselves down and are generally horribly rotten smelling awful creatures.
i think their face is also just a glamour that is part of their song? And they are actually hideous and old? But I could be making that one up.
Better off finding your pickle pee and pump a rumps elsewhere, friend.
i mean, someone's still probably into that.
this
i fucking hate harpies after playing melee classes for too long.
i kill them on sight with everything i can
Sure. Make those wolf/goblin fights a breeze. :^)
based and apexlegendspilled
You're not hearing the harpy song in your head
They take baths in water though, like the two in that river next to the cyclopse down by the western shoreline just south of gran soren
FUCK
im immune to their spells
BEGONE THOT
It feels so fucking good to play a Sorc after doing a pure red class playthrough and just Maelstrom every group of harpies to death
>walk up to those snow harpies north of Gran Soren
>start channeling Maelstrom while walking at them
>get in range for them to notice me right as the bar finishes
>they start taking off as the tornado spawns, but the winds prevent them from getting any closer
>flapping away in vain as they're drawn slowly backwards until the tornado grabs them, chews them up and spits out feathers
Magic in DD isn't exactly "fun" but man if it doesn't have some of the coolest spells in any videogame.
About to buy it for the 4th time
PS3, PC, PS4 (gift for a friend) and now Switch
Okay I want to be real for a second, there was a really sick either trailer or intro video that had that song when the game first came out, but after the copyright bullshit no longer exists on the face of this earth.
Do any of you have that thing?
>romance Julien
>see him out of his armor for the first time
what the fuck
Can someone redpill me on the most fast-paced class to play?
Also is there an easy way to train pawns to not be retarded? (Besides not spamming help me)
Man i wish there were better choices for breast plates besides a plackart
Isn't this it?
youtube.com
Assassin. They've got a skill that makes them go sanic.
>easy way to train pawns
You got the main one already. If they play a similar class to you, they'll generally be smarter from your moves.
Strider
Buy elixers from the guy in the Encampment. The knowledge chair can do it too, but in a more limited and annoying way if you don't have any RC
>strider/ranger pawn with challenger as primary and utilitarian as secondary
Nah it wasn't this one. The characters would actually talk over the song. This is just B'z' music video.
youtube.com
also been looking for this for years
AUGHT
Will titty birds have nipples in DD2? I know sphinxes in DDO have jiggle physics but no nipples.
Tell capcom to give me a proper, finished sequel already
Yup this was it. Thanks user. Time to dl it before I lose it again.
Why would birds have nipples dude, that's just silly
Itsuno has been teasing it for a while during DMC5 interviews and literally just a couple days ago they announced a Dragon’s Dogma anime. I think it’s safe to assume that DD2 is finally entering development and Capcom want to start pushing DD as a franchise again.
Uh, so they can make bird milk!?!? What else would they be for, dumb-dumb?
Fucking beautiful!
