You can't be serious. Balrog gets:

- nearly infinite airtime in blow mode
- strong AOE in kick mode
- air attack in kick mode is a really fast enemy tracking ability to close the gap without spending trick / air trick
- huge damage in both modes
- free i-frame dodges in blow mode with built in counters

It literally does everything, even without Swordmaster. Once you throw that into the mix shit gets really crazy.

The only nitpick is the switch mechanic being tied to shoulder + back + sword because the input can be done by mistake if the camera isn't your friend.

Any enemy who does not get knocked down by the 3rd hit can be followed up directly with as many other 3 hit air combos as you want. You can even do 2 hits, pause, then 2 hits, etc for enemies that do get knocked down (but you will lose height a bit this way).

Gameplay feels clunky and not smooth, the combat system isn't interesting, and the games don't even have a proper difficulty curve it's mostly just "lol enemies kill u in one blow". The entirety of the game seems focused around making the big flashy number go up so the game tells you how cool and awesome you are while the retarded lolsorandumb main character goes

Genuinely struggling with a no retry run against Vergil with Dante. I get him down to low health every time and I end up fucking up. Is it possible to RG parry his flying dive? Is it worth trying to parry him in his DT or just jump spam? I did it with a retry, it was piss easy with the second surge of HP, but I don't want it to be done that way.

Probably. I wouldn't fuck with it, though. I tried to Royal Release on it a few times, and it kept going right through him, but there's videos of people doing it so it is possible.

I don't fuss with him while he's in DT. Doesn't seem to speed up the decay of it like in DMC3.

Best advice I can give is that the doppelganger can be killed with just a couple rockets, and to save your royal release for the late fight The rest of it is just studying his patterns and trying to clean up your mistakes. Two mistakes I was making were:
1. Chasing him after the first phase. Judgement Cut End is hard to get away from if he surprises you with it.
2. Missing the attack opportunity after his regular judgement cuts. Learn how many he does in the row, and try to get in on him with a stinger through the last one. You get a free combo.

Now that I know they had to combine the voice actor with the face model, I'm a lot less bothered by them not being identical. Overall, I think the new art style paid dividends and I'm really happy with the shift so if this (and Trish not being terribly pretty) is the price, I'm fine with it.

I'm sort of having this issue with post-game Nero. For now I've moved the Devil Breaker to RB but I'm not sure if I'll keep it there. I feel like the Bringer should be on a face button and should be my bread and butter.

Balrog is arguably one of the most indepth weapons of DMC5. I'd recommend you to lay it off at first and focus on one of the easier weapons like DSD or Cerberus.

It's basically like the actor is wearing the face of another person, that's why the faces sometimes look somewhat weird. It's like a blend of two different people.

Did they ? Because as I said before, I saw a few pic of Maxim to be sure, and their jaws are really similar but the eyes are quite different. Vergil's are smaller, and I think that's what makes their faces different. There may be other little details as well, but yeah overall, Vergil and Maxim are not so different when you look at it.

neither are "in control". they were both just two halves of a whole. he has both of their memories. thats why both v and urizen acted super weird and kinda shallow. they were each just 1/2 of vergil's personality.
