Call it a hallway simulator all you want but playing it was genuinely one of the creepiest things ever. The entire design of Resident Evil 7 was basically created as a reaction to how effective PT was. Yes once you figure out how the game works it isn't as effective but that first playthrough was incredible. Plus as many have already stated that was just a teaser made to announce the game. It wasn't meant to actually represent what the finished product would be it was just a "hey look what we can do" sort of thing. Way better than just having a dull trailer that only shows a logo.
