What difficulty are you going to play the games through first?

Heroic.
Maybe co-op Legendary. My brother forced me to do Halo 2 Legendary with him, might've been LASO, don't remember.

But I remember some segment in one of the last levels, you drop down a tube and you just instantly die because there's enemies everywhere. And then some room (might've been a different level) with a bunch of invisible Elites who charge from a door and are insanely difficult.

Legendary seems like it'd be pretty fun with a mouse and keyboard.

I'm a zoomer who never played any Halo games, so I tried out Halo 1 on PC a couple of weeks back, and the first level bored the shit out of me. The only good thing was that the small enemies had hilariously high-pitched voice lines.

Heroic to warm up first, cause that's how they're supposed to be played. Then finish off Legendary to feel satisfied.

I was thinking the exact same thing when this got announced.

the levels after the first one are better for a while, but then it soon takes a deep dive and you hit repetitive copy pasted tunnels, and boring shit

it's going to be denied by children who grew up with Halo though, because they just didn't know any better and now it's too late to admit their game was always shit

Heroic for the first run, normal to get the skulls and heroic for the inevitable heroic run of all four games

Actually it isn't that much different. The whole game is designed around controller aiming, so better aim will not actually make any encounters easier. I learned it the hard way when I tried to Legendary Halo 1 PC and expecting my pure Unreal Tournament skills alone will carry me.
You are still forced to take cover all the time like you were playing on controller.

Heroic for a balanced experience, 1st option
Normal/Easy for the story
Legendary for the challenge
Is it actually fun? Never tried it.

The first Halo game is sort of tedious and reptitive, people dicksuck it a lot just because it's the first ones, but the sequels improve on it a lot.

That being said, you should keep going

To a lot of PC players who were playing fps games at the time, the first Halo being shitty as it was makes it strange that it got so popular despite it. Of course, I understand that it was because there was nothing better at that time for consoles, but to PC players it was a less then mediocre fps.

Ran through H2 on Legendary with my best friend during the summer. It was on the Xbox
