It still has blue detailing, and all his demonic auras and special effects are blue. It's so there's some cohesion with V's design and so it looks like he's changed in some way. Dante's outfit always changes, so Vergil's should too if he's showing up as part of the plot and not just a special edition bonus.

Pasta breaker is pretty much a joke weapon. It's like punchline just weaker and you can't ride it. Mega man breaker is decent at best. Gerbera 01 allows you to evade really well, but so does the original Gerbera. Gerbera 01 expands combo potential because it has two added directions but it isn't really stronger.
Sweet Surrender might be OP because it restores hp, I'm not sure because I don't lose health that much. I imagine Sweet Surrender would be OP in bloody palace but the other deluxe breakers aren't stronger than the standard breakers.

I would prefer V to be his own character and Vergil can stay too.

no, if you keep using repeated attacks the style will start to drop. you have to keep mixing it up using unique attacks. After you haven't used a certain move for a while, the next time you use it it will fill the style meter again. do this correctly and you can get to SSS and stay there for the whole fight

Gerbera 01 allows you to evade really well, but so does the original Gerbera. Gerbera 01 expands combo potential because it has two added directions but it isn't really stronger.
Those two new directions look really cool though, and I wish it was possible to just buy DLC devil breakers individually instead of forcing players to upgrade to the deluxe bundle. I want the DLC breakers but don't give a shit about the music tracks or the announcers or any of the other stuff.

To the user that said they were having trouble with Fury on DMD, all the tips people said sucked, use Payline to parry and Hardline to make Fury bounce which puts him into a grab state. Don't panic if you don't have Hardline charged, Fury chills for a good bit after you parry him

Gilgamesh standard combos were pretty weak unless you got the just frame timings. The best thing about it was the dive kick, which is present in Balrog and seems a little stronger, and DRI. Not sure if that's still in the game.
Dante might be able to keep up with Nero's damage now. Cavaliers air combos do massive damage. The balrog divekick is strong and dante can use summoned swords while attacking. You might learn to like the new weapons if you really look into them.

Hey guys, playing in SoS and I'm trying to beat him using mostly Royal Guard and switching to Swordmaster when obvious openings present themselves. I've never used RY before so I'm still getting used to it. I can handle the first phase, but he absolutely wrecks me in the second one. Any tips? I keep fucking up my RG and there are so many attacks in this phase that I don't even know if it's worth the effort. Plus those fucking swords around me are a pain because if I try to get rid of them, I can't use RG on time for the aerial dashes. The only attack that I can sort of handle in that phase is when he jumps and plunges down with his sword.

You can unequip all of Dante's weapons when you beat SoS. You get an achievement for beating a mission with no weapons

Each shoulder button switches to a respective style AND functions as a lockon while you hold it.
Like R1 is Swordmaster+Lockon, R2 is Trickster, L1 is Gunslinger, L2 is Royal Guard.
Alternatively, Hold R2 for Sword, release R2 for Trick. Hold L2 for Gun, release for Royal.

Also Gun and Arms on DPad Down and Right (easy to access without trying to claw at up and left).
Alternatively, Down and Right cycling both Arm&Gun simultaneously back and forth so they sort of behave like weapon sets.

When i first played DMC1 (started with it), i needed one entire playthrough to learn how to use the sword. Then in my second playthrough i started using the gauntlets. And DMC1 combat is far simpler than 3-5

The only person who could feasibly kill Vergil is Dante, and the Dante is the last person who wants to do that. You could argue that Vergil isn't responsible for Urizen's actions but that's a load of shit because Vergil knew about the tree and had one of the only swords in existence that can open portals to hell. When he split himself in two, he didn't really know that he wouldn't be in control or that his demon side would have basically nothing to keep it in check, he was incredibly surprised to find this out as V and immediately went to go get Dante. Urizen himself has no idea who he was or what Dante is to him, he jsut knows he needxs to beat him. He's essentially just a demon with lust for power, and V(ergil) put himself on the line to stop him multiple times. I guess V is sorta like Otacon in a sense.

I'll give it a shot. no guarantees though, I basically just learned how this controller stuff works and bumbled my way through it to get the one I have now.

Vergil was fucked up after being Nelo Angelo. His body was falling apart because both Mundus and Dante stomped his shit in constantly before and during DMC1. Vergil proceeded to get his ass kicked endlessly and began to fall apart. He didn't want to fall apart so he threw away his weak vulnerable human body (V) and let his demon soul run rampant.

It's like a Kingdom Hearts thing

4SE Lady was just a variant gunslinger Dante with a better shotgun, Nero's charged shot on handguns, a slow melee combo, Kalina Ann ripped straight from DMC3, and some additional moves ripped straight from Sengoku Basara. Most of her interesting aspects were upgraded and added into 5's gunslinger retinue, so you can play Dante and use GS for attacking exclusively and you've basically got a better 4SE Lady. They'll need to rework her a fair bit for there to be any point in her inclusion now. The reason she turned out that way in 4SE was because Capcom only gave Itsuno the budget and team to make Vergil, but because he's an absolute fucking mad man he stretched that out as much as possible to include Lady and Trish as well.

I used to run V on the default settings, but I ultimately changed them to be more in-line with Nero's and Dante's because I dislike having different control schemes between the characters.

There is no "i was wrong". Yamato is a magic weapon and works with Intent. He knows it can cut everything, so he said, "i will cut my own humanity" and did it, because it CAN CUT ANYTHING, he just never felt cutting anything's soul before.

Same applies to rebellion fusing Dante and Sparda's sword. It works on intent.

He did though. He gained new power from the fruit and acceptance of his humanity, gained a son, and patched things up with his brother so they can fight for fun now. It's an extremely happy end for Vergil.
