I think that the re-release is both a semi-curse and blessing.

Remember when hacking/modding MW2 on console was the thing? Along with MW1? I remember there being cosmetic ones like having a fucking button in your name on top of some more questionable ones, but Bungie always got put on a pedestal since Halo 3 hacking was so outright rare that it's actually rare to see someone say they've seen/done it.

I think by releasing on steam they'll be able to put more power into the banning of hackers, but it'll still become a somewhat problem as time goes on. By all means, I'll be playing the first week to get that classic taste before any hacks come out, but I know that eventually there'll probably be some side ones, but I can only assume someone'll figure out serverside anti-cheat similar to how many servers in Gmod have them.

Also, it really was just a console game. I'll absolutely play every single map on PC, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the asked-for updates to the game forces the usage of a licensed Xbox controller (since reading the hardware may make it much easier to block hiding a m+K) just to keep the game 'balanced' between both teams - shit, even servers dedicated to controller-only. I'd love to still have a reason to shotgun-melee a nigga on a controller again.
