Anyone interested in a beginner lobby on PSN?

I'm really contemplating switching from yuzu to wagner. I think i can get a better combo with her from what ive been practicing, but my buttons are starting to drop inputs, also confirmed it by looking at the inputs in training mode. really dont wanna buy new buttons though.

walkup is busy remaking character mission modes last time he showed up. Mostly talked instead of play though.

Mission Mode has a couple ones I use. For example
5A > 5B > 214B > jB > jC > j6C > land > j[C] > 2B > 5B > 5C > 236A

2B or 5A>5B>214B>j.B>j.C>j.6C>4B>4[6]A is his BnB corner carry. Also Mission 4-1 and 4-2 are useful.

Oh man I feel so dumb, after I stopped playing yesterday I went to training for a little bit to test some things before going to sleep.

Eltnum's 22a is always negative, even with enhanced bullets, 236a and 236[A] are the ones who are plus. Also if you whiff low shield you can't go to high shield immediately, you need to wait a few frames. I feel so retarded, but that explains a lot.

22A is only -1, and at the range you end blockstrings with it you can easily reset pressure with the threat of disjointed bullet hitboxes at midrange

I've actually been meaning to mention this Sai. What I did to get dashblocking mostly perfectly was to just do drills in training mode repeating it as fast as possible just so I got the motion down. Got it mostly down after 10 minutes of it for a few days.

No offense but maybe try sai's easier lobby. Playing Wald is already a tough commitment but playing against people who have around a year's more worth of experience might just give you the breathing room to see what you're doing wrong.

I think it was 5 frames? Takes a bit longer for whatever button you use in the air to come out though. Most assault j.C's are 26ish frames.

I wouldn't trust Aksys again with their terrible work. The dub was not garbage but I see no reason to ever use it.

Well Aksys played no part in the dub, they're just the one's who published UNI in NA in the first place. Arc were the ones who funded the bbtag dub.
So if FB was going to make a new version and Aksys decided to publish it, it would be up to them if they wanted to dub it.

I'm aware, i just don't want Aksys' laughably low quality localization to touch this franchise again

Well you better hope Arcsys gets a brain and will actually give their American side the rights to publish and not just piss it away to some other third party like Aksys.

The USB detection for my controller went in and out a few times but luckily it did so mostly when I was being juggled by combos. Need to replace it definitely.

Holy hell, i was having fun trying something different by learning a charge character for the first time. Doing Vatista's missions, then i got to 4-1. I don't think i'll be able to ever get close to doing 4-1 at least without learning my controls from scratch with either new bindings, or abandoning pad altogether.

Damn you weren't kidding, these missions are nuts. I wonder if we'll ever get someone to push this character near her full potential.

It's a shame too, i was starting to enjoy her charge moves, then they have to drop those multi hold crystal combos on you like that.

Longer night than I was expecting for PC. I don't know why I was playing poorly as my recent self, then had a spike in competence near the end, then starting to dip again. Feels good having random execution.

Enkidu and Mika have the same problem of no projectiles, but Enkidu has it worst since Mika zip zooms everywhere and can close the distance a lot faster. I just started and I'm maining Mika, and honestly I think the limitations of the character is helping me learn the game more, since I'm focusing more on the characters I'm fighting. It did help I played MB a lot though.

Just some annoying steam setting. I got it working.

Either Wald or Hyde. All of the starter combos in the Hyde primer were too tough for me, so I've just tried to do a bunch of missions as practice. The issue is I don't know how to find a balance between that and actual play. Maybe if I just copy down a few mission combos for each good normal on paper, I could use those in game, but I still feel really lacking. I dunno.

I'd say practice just getting easy combos first if you're just barely starting out.

Something like 2A, 2B, 3C, 5C, and then doing one of his rekkas (214x).

Start simple and then expand with the other stuff.

What is a rekka, exactly?

After learning how The game plays with Akatsuki, i want to learn Hyde just because he seems Shoto like, but with difrences that make him difrent from the others.
My only problem is that he seems kinda hard to use properly compared to Akatsuki, with the Rekkas preassure for some reason fucking me up

Rekkas and preassure*

a rekka is a special move that has more hits if you follow the first attack with more inputs. I don't play hyde, but for example Phonon has a 214A that does a single hit, but if you hit 214AA it turns into a three hit combo.
I think Hyde's rekka is also his 214X special move.

I tried going through Yuzu’s missions but I can’t get past 4-6. On the bright side though it’s made doing combos for everyone else much easier. I really wanted to play her but my hands are cramping bad on pad, even with a few button adjustments. Time to switch to Orie I guess.

Starts with quarter circle forward punch and you just keep hitting punch to get a sort of auto combo.

Ahh, that makes perfect sense, thanks. It's odd to think newbs have trouble with these, but I suppose it can be kind of tricky to get the right direction on stick at times.

For sure. The more optimal stuff also involves delays to mix in other attacks to extend the combo beyond just the rekkas.

For now I suggest not focusing on that and learning your basic special moves and how to get some light combos off them.

I think you'll adapt your own style that works for you since there are players of all skill level in the lobbies.
