They added like a shit load of uniques in D3, at least in the Vita version. Even this kid who was just a portrait back in D1.

They're great at making you feel like you're cheating and exploiting obscure bullshit that you found by accident when the devs have actually accounted for it and expected you to find it. There's also a level of instant feedback and near bottomless potential to get stronger that makes all the busywork feel rewarding. It's certainly not for everyone, but what it does, it does extremely well. And if it gets its hooks in you, it doesn't let go.

Gettin' HUGE. There's a million different ways to make your characters stronger and items better, and there is practically no cap on how strong they can get. The farming is endless and hopelessly addictive once you get into it. I spent hundreds of hours in Disgaea 2 just making my shrine maiden army stronger until they had telephone numbers in each stat. Looking back I didn't even have any real reason to do it besides wanting to see how absurdly strong I could make them.

I can already feel D5 suck my life away, shouldn't have bought that thing on Steam sale, but I did. Disgaea 3 is my least favorite of the series though, it felt like a budget game with boring characters and mostly B-list voice actors.

I remember using a code that did this for the first 2 game. Shit was fun, I ended up just gang raping Bal fighting him early. He still ended up wiping out most of my characters but I did manage to wear him down a bit.

Honestly, I just want DD2 ported. I can't give a damn about 3 or 4.

Disgaea 5 lets you deploy up to 15 units at once by passing bills in the post-game, and Zetta's Overload (basically a Limit Break) lets you deploy five more.

D5 lets you use 15 at a time with upgrades. Zettas overlord allows an extra 5 characters to be summoned. And can be used twice when combined with Petta for a total of 25 characters at once.
