I was mostly disappointed in Hugh being a step down from BW1's rival characterization.
Colress has a neat design and morally grey thing going on in his character but I feel like he was a bit of wasted potential honestly.

Honestly I'm just glad it's not Lillie or Gladion for that matter. You can clearly tell that they were trying to push them (Lillie more than Gladion).

She wasn't in Gen 4, 5 or 6. They even removed her from a Kanto flashback but kept Brock for no real reason.

I watched the Twitch marathon a while back and while I love the chemistry she has as part of the group in season 1, her character goes downhill after she gets Togepi and she spends most of her time doing absolutely nothing once they removed her snarky attitude.

It all comes down to lots of people having nostalgia for gen 1 or being closet Pokeshippers.
