It's a technical mess and parts of it are truly infuriating. But if you like survival horror, yes, absolutely. I really liked it despite its flaws. 2 is great as well and a better package overall, though sort of lacking in some of the first games soul.
>It's a technical mess and parts of it are truly infuriating.
Can you compare it to RE6? Because I dropped it right after Leon's 1st chapter.
It's a great game and far better than the sequel which was westernised into a non scary semi open world walk around and loot crafting partsathon. Plebs love it for w/e reason.
It's pretty good, so yeah.
It's got a few good ideas that are mired down by schizophrenic storytelling and some annoying bits.
Evil Within is way better than RE6 but the two aren't that comparable.
the first few chapters are completely different from most of the game. you will think it's shit at first, but it starts to become much like resident evil 4 as you get to chapter 4-5.
Thats bad, I tend to drop games easily if they don't give a good first impression.
Yes. It's just a much better version of RE4.
The start isn't as bad as he's making out. It starts as a slow burn then shit just gets crazier and crazier as it really starts hitting the fan.
if you liked re4 or 5 this game is better than either of those. especially if you thought the re games were too easy.
Thanks, I might give it a go.
EW1 is a poor knockoff of RE4 where they copied most of the sections but got it all wrong.
Prepare to be frustrated. Worst game I have ever played to completion. At least I had fun with the sequel.
RE4 is fucking jankfest, TEW is a far superior product.
is a*
EW did a better job than RE4. RE4 has no ammo conservation and no sense of challenge. EW actually makes you strategize a little more than nothing at all. I'm thoroughly convinced that the people who praise RE4 but condemn TEW are just brainlets who couldn't handle a game with more solutions than "shoot it in the head".
Yes, you should. fitgirl-repacks.site
This desu.
Another question:
Me disliking Dead Space will have any impact on my impression of EW?
I really liked it, even if it is a jumbled mess.
I hated dead space and liked evil within. Dead space is too casual and tries too hard to be scary. Evil within has actual mechanics to master, and is more of a survival/action game with a horror setting. You can tell it was made by the same guy who did god hand, and it feels good. You know you're playing right when you kneecap an enemy and throw a match at him, causing a chain reaction and killing two other nearby enemies.
No
Dead Space is more like RE4 where you don't really have to worry about ammo and can just blast your way to victory. TEW if you play at the higher difficulty will require smarter play, use of stealth, etc. There's still a lot of action though.
You'll see people saying the story is a mess and impossible to follow but i had no issues with and found it enjoyable, it was different than what we usually get in games.
with it*
I disliked DS because the movimentation/shooting felt clunky, weapon design was shit, plus the scenarios are dull and characters have no charisma at all, I just hope that EW doesn't relate to those flaws.
Did you play DS on PC? Cos it has a serious mouse movement issue for while before being fixed.

for a while*
>Dead space is too casual and tries too hard to be scary.
Not the first and second one. Those games were genuinely unnerving.
I did, but I managed to fix the sensitivity issue, the game still felt clunky, maybe I'm just too used to RE's fluidity idk.
>Evil Within
>not a jankfest
I just played through it two weeks ago, fully patched, and it still had this bug.

I ended up redoing the entire section because I thought I could fix it by reloading, and when it was clear that wasn't going to happen, I had to seek a solution online.
Not even close to the jankfest that is RE4, the movement in that game is fucking awful. It's also corny af and overrated af.
Also i never encountered that issue and i played on PC at launch when it was in it's worst state. When cheat engine was required just to play it at 60fps without blackbars lol.
At least I can play RE4 on a console and have a stable framerate. Evil Within on PS4 has some pretty bad dips despite being a crossgen release.
TeW1 is a masterpiece
TEW2 is casual westernized garbage. it's still enjoyable though but its still garbage
>Playing on console
>Has bad frame dips
