Unsurprising seeing as how most new/modern games the same old shit every time with a different skin. It's like devs just pull out a paint by numbers book then shit it out for public consumption. While at the same time journos sit there with their gaping mouths and glasses they don't need spamming out 9/10! 10/10!
Older titles were made by actually creative and talented people, nu devs go to a uni/college for game development and come out only knowing how to follow a very specific formula. And all shareholders care about is how many lootboxes and microtransactions can be crammed into games.

2012 is actually when I noticed how shit games were becoming. I think it really started showing at the start of the decade but I wasn't aware of it until 2012. until mass effect 3's ending opened my eyes to just how shitty AAA gaming has become

just play indies, they are usually of higher quality than AAA games and way more fun too. of course you'll have the one off like god of war and horizon zero dawn but good games are still out there

Currently I play Path of exile,Factorio,DMC5 and i plan on geting back into ffxiv tomorrow.
