>this game is a confirmed sales flop
So does this mean the death of WarioWare too along with Wario Land? Is Wario as a whole dead now? How are Wario bros going to cope now?
>this game is a confirmed sales flop
So does this mean the death of WarioWare too along with Wario Land? Is Wario as a whole dead now? How are Wario bros going to cope now?
I thought this game had plenty of marketing behind it? Why did it flop so badly?
Released for the 3DS when most people who would have bought it already moved on to the Switch
It was released for a last-gen console, of course it flopped.
Good. Fanbase consist of pedos and barafags
This.
Now, if they make a new game for the Switch, and THAT flops, the series is fucked.
>No Wario Land ever again
WARIOWARE GOLD: DELUXE for Nintendo Switch; ft. Funky Kong
It was called 1-2 Switch
It would be a pretty good game to end the franchise on but i still want a switch one
high IQ
>2 hours of gameplay
As much as we joke about the 3DS refusing to die past its expiration date, it could have lasted longer if Nintendo's next console wasn't a handheld hybrid. It was just completely invalidated.
How the fuck would it work without a second screen though.
>Late 2018
>3DS game
It literally had NO chance. Don't even know why they bothered. Based game though, lots of fun.
The same way it worked on the GBA, the Wii, and the Wii U.
>Thinking the meat of Warioware games is in the main story
Shame, I actually bought it to support the series. Too bad the remaining 3dsfags are piratefags.
I bought it and enjoyed it as a longtime fan, really hope this isn't the end.
I'd love to see a new DIY on Switch, even if I can see them gimping the online aspect due to inappropriate shenanigans.
>absolutely love warioware
>watching it flop like this
>especially when the game is so sound and good
>There will never be a wario land that will be better than 4.
Why live bros
the only reason why it sold is because of basement dwelling ashleyniggers
just bring back wario land, for fuck's sake
Wario Land already died with Shake It, Warefags can eat shit
Yeah well Nintendo is dumb enough to still release games on a dead system. You have to live with the consequences of that really. And that is shit sales.
Which is hilarious because Ashley got the worse situation and worse boss microgame in this game.
I wished Wario fans were more loud and obnoxious like Metorid fans then maybe we could get a new Wario land
As a big WarioWare fan this game did nothing for me. It could be just a placebo but everything felt a touch slower than usual, and all the games being classic meant that the zaniness of figuring out how a game works the first time you see it was mostly gone.
It was a 3DS game in late 2018, of course it was gonna flop. But I don't think this means the death of WarioWare. We thought G&W was, and then we got Gold. I'm sure they're coming up with all sorts of new things for the Switch game.
The games would've sold better if Waluigi were in them.
*worst, I dunno why I am I dumbass.
>ashley getting treated like shit
Everyone pirated. I remember when it came out Yea Forums was scrambling to find the files
are these the same 2 goons?
>WWG.cia
>mfw
This. Even on release in threads full of series fans us buyfags were mocked relentlessly, with pirates saying the series was dead no matter what they did. Fucking shameful.
I agree, though I don't think it would've made that big of a difference.
these games cost nintendo like maybe $20,000 to make, warioware is the laziest series that exists
Yeah well dont bitch about it. Most people here pirated that game so fuck off.
The threads when this game came out were hilarious. People quoting the vinny streams were the funniest.
>why didn't you pay full price for a downgraded compilation of games you already played
exactly
only like fucking 17% of the microgames are original
how
literally how
They knew full well it wasnt going to sell anyways.
Yep they needed to release another console in 2017,2018 the next gen portable and it wasnt a new ds,the switch was its replacement
Doris cute
The problem with releasing something on an inactive console cracked wide open years prior is a majority of your remaining audience is already accustomed to pirating. I bought it and I still pirated it straight after because I wanted it on my SD card with everything else. They were essentially relying on fan loyalty and nothing else.
I always crack up at her cutscene because of the lack of any pause between "my master was YOU! YOU LEFT ME TO DIE!"
>a majority of your remaining audience is already accustomed to pirating
You genuinely believe the majority of the 80 million 3DS consoles out there have owners who actively pirate everything? WarioWare was never a big seller, its a niche game with a niche audience, a large chunk of whom probably pirated, but the majority of the 3DS userbase? Nah, 80 million 3DS owners are not actively pirating, its a small chunk at best.
The 3DS is just old now and people don't really want stuff for it anymore, they've moved on, that's it. Last game I bought was Samus Returns and I have no desire to buy or pirate anything else that's still coming. I'll just keep playing what I already have.
This, I bought it because I wanted a new wario game and knew this would probably be the last one cause it's the fucking 3ds.
The system was pretty much dead when the game released, nintendo just didn't want to admit it in the same way vitards insist that was still kicking too.
It was doomed from the start.
>vinny slowly going insane over mini golf
3DS became the crypt for software sales after the Switch. In 2017, every Switch release, including Xenoblade 2, outsold Metroid Samus Returns, Hey Pikmin, Ever Oasis, Mario and Luigi and all the other 3DS games they released that year save Pokemon. Its why Sushi Striker became a Switch title too in hope of fucking salvaging it. Nintendo was 18 months behind the curve.
>nintendo just didn't want to admit it
Still sells millions of units every year and the games still sell, and the games selling is what they care about. Pokemon still sells copies, Mario games still sell copies.
It doesn't need a huge new release every month to not be dead. Fucking Animal Crossing New Leaf was still charting in Japan in 2018. It'll quietly fade away and Nintendo will probably stop supporting it with new releases in 2020, but I don't see it getting discontinued or it and its games pulled from store shelves for a while because, again, they still sell relatively well. And I'm sure the eshop does well enough too.
And its pure profit for Nintendo at this point, hardware sells at a gain and so does software, why would they axe it if its still making them some money? Its not the Wii U.
Does this mean there will be a price drop?
I really want to get it but $40 is fucking steep.
>Metroid
Historically has never sold particularly well, Prime was the best-selling game at like 2 or 3 million units.
On top of the 3DS dying they did a fucking terrible job of conveying that this wasn't just a "Best of" but a brand new game. Even the name was retarded. I didn't know it was a new game until I downloaded it either.
No reason to drop the price. The people who really want it will buy anyway and drastically dropping the price probably won't attract enough new buyers to make up for the money lost on each sale.
Yeah the title doesn't fit in with the others at all.
He is lying it did quite well
Where and when was it confirmed to be a flop?
Pros
>shitload of microgames, most of them are pretty fun
>all of the returning ones have remade graphics that mostly look just as good or better than the originals
>cute story
>characters comment on how well you do inbetween microgames
>Wario Kard
>VA work is pretty decent overall
Cons
>stages start at a lower speed than usual
>higher ratio of double-length microgames to normal ones, which slows the momentum of the stages down
>regular WarioWatch is bullshit at higher speeds since the boss microgames can take as long as 15 seconds to beat
>souvenir section isn't all that great
>cutscenes aren't animated well
Overall, bretty gud. It's definitely a better compilation than Megamix.
> It could be just a placebo but everything felt a touch slower than usual
It's not just placebo. Ever since WarioWare Touched in 2005, the microgame speed started on one speed slower than they did in the original game and Twisted. The second speed in every game after is the same as the first speed in those two games.
It's probably a lot more obvious here because roughly two-thirds of the game consist of games from MM and Twisted (the other third being from Touched), while the microgames were entirely new for other games in the series.
of course not.
it was just the closing nintendo 3ds game, like that one on ds
Screw Wario. We need more Rhythm Heaven.
sites.google.com
WWG sold 132k copies in Japan alone. Not bad for a game of this scope and the fact that it came out on a dying platform.
I enjoyed the DS one. Liked the demo too but I'm broke and too lazy to pirate so eh
That's good to hear. I wonder what source OP was getting their information from to call it a "confirmed sales flop".
don't forget
>studio sessions
>Wario's Art Studio
>souvenir section isn't all that great
i thought i was the only one
compare the selection of souvenirs in Gold to previous games like Touched or Twisted and you can tell something's wrong
a lot of them are just the same shit, like the alarm clocks themed after every fucking character, or the countless amount of phone numbers
hell i think there's only like 5 or 4 that are actually unique at all
just how Nintendo Land was compared to WarioWare right?
I bought it; it’s pretty good:
Anything would be considered a flop if it doesn't sale as much as Smash Bros., especially since WarioWare is a niche series to begin with.
>worse boss microgame
third hardest. which doesn't mean bad.
It's bad because it takes too fucking long even by boss micro game standards.
They probably spent most of their souvenir making time on the minigames. There's way more than previous games.
It would be an outsourced remake of one of the GB Warioland games.
Game and Wario also flopped, so yeah.
Oh fuck
Fuck Mike games
Nah I’m sure the Switch will get its own Wario Ware. I mean, the system is practically made for it. All the micro games that could be made using the joy cons gimmicks.
Hey Jimmy; I need you to make some WarioWare TV Show Episode Ideas for me!
I hope the voice acting carries over to the inevitable Switch game. It really made these characters feel more unique. Too bad the Switch has no microphone so rip Studio mode.
Burger these hams for me Yea Forums.
Because they released it at the end of the 3DS's life. Literally all the 3DS games being released at this timeframe are flopping, for very obvious reasons.
Shoulda just made a new Warioware for the Switch or mobile
Leaker user from 2017 already confirmed that WarioWare Switch is on the way. Probably happening late this year or next year.
Kat and Ana enter a ninja battle as a team against the team of Master Ninja and Young Cricket.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING MY FUCKING MONEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYY
>WarioWare for 3DS
WarioWare Gold, they even got the "300+ microgames" thing right
>Link's Awakening Remake
Probably was pushed from 3DS to Switch after Switch became a success and Ninty finally decided to start killing the 3DS
>Zelda for iOS and Android
Probably the 2nd Zelda game that's been in the rumor mill recently. Which makes sense, since everyone is saying it's smaller than the LA remake and that it's an eshop title
>WarioLand VB Remake
Probably either dead or they shit it out as the last 3DS game ala the same thing they did with WarioWood's on the NES
So yeah, WarioWare Switch is probably coming. Hope it comes this yeah tho.
The Switch version better fucking sell like hotcakes. I don't Wario to be treated as a dead franchise like Pikmin, F-Zero, and Golden Sun. Wario deserves better than this.
Why was 4 the best one?
WarioWare is probably one of those games where it doesn't cost as much to produce, so Ninty is probably less concerned about sales than say Metroid or F-Zero.
We'll get WarioWare Switch in due time, although I hope sooner rather than later. Nintendo still hasn't released DLC for Super Mario Party but I imagine they'd put a buffer in-between releases.
>A Super Mario Party DLC with Warioware Characters and Diamond City boards and microgames getting promoted to full fledged minigames.
Stop, my penis can only get so erect.
What do you mean by worst situation?
>A Super Mario Party DLC with Warioware Characters and Diamond City boards and microgames getting promoted to full fledged minigames.
Interesting idea but unfortunately this is never, ever.
Nintendo seems really finicky about Mario canon characters in Mario games. Diddy Kong was only DLC for Aces. Coupled with the fact that Nintendo barely acknowledges Wario as a franchise or at least doesn't really care to expand the series.
Respect us you pig, if we didn't buy the games then you wouldn't get another Wario game ever.
good
warioware dying means that this corpse of a game series can be buried
now if they could start making a port of VB wario land i will be happy
What the fuck is wrong with you?
WarioWare dying doesn't mean Wario Land will come back, it only means we won't get any new Wario games. The main reason why Wario Land games stopped being made is because the original dev team dissolved and Nintendo had no idea what to do with it.
>no new wario games
well thats still better then getting half-assed warioware games every couple years
No more Wario Land, just Wario World now.
Fuuuuck I wish
Wario World was janky, but it was the good kind of janky damn it.
It really was a neat and unique game, there's no other game in the Wario series (or even the Mario franchise in general) quite like it
The only good WarioWare games were the 1st GBA one, Twisted and Touched. Gold doesn't count since it's just a repackaging of those 3.
You seriously think:
>Smooth Moves was any good
>WarioWare DIY and DIY Showcase was any good
>WarioWare Snapped was any good
>Game & Wario.... JUST
And even if they do make a new one for Switch it'll still have that fugly Rhythm Heaven artstyle that makes everyone look like 2000s clip art.
end of 3ds life cycle and most people just downloaded it for free from the FreeShop
Bro... no....
We gotta have faith for the Switch game....
It's gonna be good and sell millions and get Nintendo to make Wario platformers again!
WOW WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A 3DS EXCLUSIVE IN 2018 WOULD BE A BAD IDEA HUH I GUESS NO ONE LIKES IT
Made this compilation from some of the old threads.
Fuck you Smooth moves was good
I’m only giving you WarioWare Snapped!
While Game And Wario isn’t a Warioware standard game, it’s still fun to fuck around in, especially in 9-Volt’s mode.
WONDERFUL
DIY was great and brought us the best song in the series
DIY was great and brought us the best song in the series.
youtube.com
PUT THEM IN
>The spooky creepy pasta game
Would pay top dollar for that.
DIY was great and brought us the best song in the series
youtube.com
oof i'm diggin that biker waluigi tho
Wario land 2 remake would be kino
the entire Wii U flopped. it was the biggest Nintendo fail since virtual boy.
>style and characters neutered beyond recognition, LITERALLY SOULLESS
>terrible humor
>made easy as fuck so even a 4 year old can beat it
>short as fuck
Maybe if they made it actually good it would've sold well.
What's wrong with Gold?
Name a worse poster than the "____ WAS THE ONLY GOOD GAME" poster
They always ALWAYS rear their ugly little heads in any discussion to post essentially nothing but hyperbole. Cringe, bluepilled, yikes, every negative Yea Forums term applies to these sad sacks of idiots.
Switch Touched and Smooth Moves and you're 100% right.
Gold has a lot more content than just repackaging those games though.
Smooth Moves was excellent but didn't have as much content as it should have. The multiplayer was really fun. DIY was fucking trash garbage and I agree with you completely. Never played Snapped but as far as I know it was a glorified tech demo. Game and Wario is a decent game and most of the multiplayer modes for it are god tier but it's not a Warioware title.
It's the last modern game I bought. It was fucking great.
WarioLandfags are the biggest insufferable whiny bitches though. Fucking dumbfucks.
Touched isn't that bad. It's definitely a B-team game but it lives up to the original WarioWare, even if it doesn't hold a candle to Twisted.
>instead of reviving the IP by making a radical new entry like the series used to be known for before they killed it with [everything after Smooth Moves], let's release a compilation of old microgames on a dead handheld
I'm shocked.
>Good. Fanbase consist of pedos.
FTFY.
I just want WarioWare Switch for the local multiplayer. Smash Ultimate + MK8DX + SMP (w/ DLC) + WarioWare Switch is my dream combination of local multi fun.
Would legit buy it if it came out on mobile.
Warioware is one of my favorite franchises of all time and I pirated it. I don't regret it.
monkey-network.tumblr.com
This guy has a shit ton of ideas.
Warioware will go the way of rhythm heaven and f zero. Nintendo will now act like they never fucking existed and I will hate their guts for it.
>everything after smooth moves
There hasn’t even been a Wario Ware game up until Gold
It's so clearly rushed and has terrible music. Dribble and Spitz aren't even in it ffs
Warioware was never about the one playthrough, its always about the high scores
Not an argument. It still has less overall content.
>Characterfagging
Delusional
It has an equal selection of characters as the original WarioWare (new characters take the place of some older ones) but less Microgames per character which is dumb and Mike is taking up one of the slots with his specific gimmick. There's more side content than the original WarioWare offered though.
Twisted obviously shits all over it but it is not that terrible of a package. If you go back to the original WarioWare and look over what's in it by comparison you might see it too.
Memeing faggots who care about waluigi don't have enough money to buy new games.
people who say this is a 2 hour game has never done the index/archive challenges
Kind of weird to think about it, since there was like a 12 year gap between the two
And so Wario returns to the state he started out in, somebody who only exists in relation to Mario.
WHAT
BUT I BOUGHT IT
that meand the sales should be great
Anything i don't by is automatically disliked by everyone and a flop
Anything i DO buy is based and a commercial success
I AM THE MARKET
Who knows, I bought and enjoyed it, shame about the numbers. Honestly though, its a late era 3DS game, the system is on its last leg, after Persona Q2 i dont think any higher profile games are coming for it, Pokemon jumping ship means the handheld is more or less dead
I'm fucking sad we never got any Dragon Quest Monsters localized, those were some of my favorite childhood games and knowing that remakes of BOTH of the GBC games exist and haven't been translated and may never officially be is painful
>You seriously think Smooth Moves was any good
Yes, actually.
